Well, you've read the notes, the notes were night and day and a conundrum, and now it is time for you to post until the day and night cows come home.

Good morning from Washington National Airport!  I'm on my way to the Big Apple. It's a Streisand get-together of sorts.   Tomorrow night Barbra is presenting the Lincoln Center's Chaplin award to Robert Redford.  I think my friend and I are going to see The Visit, with Chita Rivera, this afternoon.

DR George since it is possible we will be going to Sea-tac when there isn't a direct fligt to Portlsnd, or just for fun to then stay in Seattle, I am glad they have the park and call.  Medford is so small there is no need for it.

Good morning, all!  I slept late, got an extra two hours of sleep and dozing.  In one dream I was the victim of a practical joke by BK at a recording session, some running around in search of a bandaid, and in another I seemed to be in Dublin with a group having such a good time that we changed our schedule to stay in Dublin another day and then fly to London. The hotel where we stayed had excellent strawberry pastries.

Today is a work at home day: back to Moross scores, maybe a market trip, possibly laundry. The weather appears to be warming up, so maybe I'll put awaythe winter clothes and drag out my shorts.  Adventure!

I would love to be able to eliminate sugar from my diet. It's by far my biggest weakness. I did read a story on Yahoo! not too long ago about a family that completely went off sugar - reading labels carefully and eliminating all foods with sugar that you wouldn't expect to have it (like ketchup). They didn't eat any other natural sweeteners either like honey or maple. The only sugar they got was from fruit. The wife who was writing the story said that after about a year of that, they noticed their palettes changed and they didn't even want desserts anymore. But they did allow themselves a treat on their birthdays. The husband asked for a banana cream pie. She tried to eat a piece, but only got through half of it - it didn't really taste good to her, it was way too sweet, and made her feel very full and sort of sick. I'd love to live in that world.

I am currently watching the dvd for Major Crimes season two.  I had no idea that there were 19 episodes. That is a lot to watch when you only have the dvd for a week.  There is someone waiting for it after me.  But if I don't finish I will take it out again after the next person.  So far I'm on episode 3.

That's similar to what happened to me. Last January, I had the flu and couldn't eat for a week. When I resumed eating I couldn't eat as much as usual--no surprise--and had NO desire for sweets. My appetite never fully returned; I get hungry, but fill up very quickly. If I eat even one oatmeal cookie I exclaim, "Man, is that SWEET!" I still like the idea of sweets, ie, I remember enjoying them, but seldom want them, and very, very little at a time.

A cell phone lot is where one parks and waits while picking someone up from the airport. When your party calls you from his/her cell to your cell, you know it is time to drive to the curb at the terminal.

My DH waited in the cell phone lot last night. I called when I was at the curb. He spent thirty-five minutes driving around, missing the turn to the terminal curb before he figured it out.

DR George, what is a cell phone parking lot? I envision lots of of tiny slots where everyone could leave their cell phones. But why would you want to?

Before, you had to go into the regular airport parking, find a space miles away from the actual arrival areas, meet up with your people, walk miles back to your car, pay for the time that you parked, and then you could leave.

A cell phone parking lot is an area where you can park at the airport...for free...and just wait for someone to call you on your cell phone to come pick them up when they've arrived from a flight.  It's great!

I have only used the cell phone lot once, and fortunately someone at the car rental told me about it.  It must have been a new concept then as it was when I collected Craig from Dulles airport when he returned from Romania.

For some reason though he couldn't call me and ended up calling our house for Keith to call me.

He does sleep around.  A lot.
First show: the composer
Second show: the producer
Third show: the director

But I hear everyone hates him because his conducting sucks.

Today I've eaten no sugar.  Of course, I haven't eaten anything today.  I wasn't sure I was going to, but I'm hungry now and my tummy's feeling better so off to Gelson's - fruit, carrots and maybe some chicken breasts.

Sami was much better today - and the show, while still two minutes faster than it should have been, ran smoothly.  So, I gave her a bunch of notes, told her where she was rushing and she'll work on those things tonight and tomorrow and before we actually do the thing.

That's good to hear. It's never easy to be or work with someone who takes you on an unplanned rollercoaster ride. I've had that happen to me and never knew what was right or wrong to say. Eventually the person forgot all about it, but I was shellshocked for a while. Glad when they got back to their normal ways.

Just finished reading Leonardo and The Last Supper by Ross King. Very good book. I like his writing style. Read one of his earlier books, Brunelleschi's Dome, which also was good.

There's always at least one new word when I read, and this book had: susurration (whispering sound, murmuring)(p.81) which I had not encountered before despite all of the reading I like to think I've done.

It's great!

My sister only lives about 7 minutes from the airport. So when I have to pick someone up I just wait there and then they wait the 7 minutes till I get there. :)

That sounds better than sitting in a parking lot.

Beautiful view you have there Jane

Thanks.  The higher up you go the better the views and building one has views of Mt. Hood.  We like the ground floor because walking outside feels more like having a yard.  The views of Mt Hood are in the earlier buildings which aren't as soundproof as the last two.  We are across the river from the airport and the train tracks are on the front side of the condos.  It is fun to watch & hear them while outside but quiet inside is more desirable, especially when sleeping.

There is really no parking lot to wait at I don't think.  How the airport used to be you could sort of pull over to the side.  But there are plenty of places nearby where you could pull over.  But I would rather have the person call me as they are getting their bags. Then they can just go to the pick up place while i drive there.  I am pretty used to going to the airport so I know exactly where to go.

DR Jennifer where are you having your birthday dinner this year?

I had no idea that where I was going was showing the Canadiens playoff hockey game. Or that it was starting at the same time we went. Or that they were going to play it with the volume on (most places mute the volume).  It was very loud for the first half.

I made another huge vat of chili; most of it's now in the freezer and some is in the fridge.

I learned how the conductor of a major new Broadway show that everyone hates got the job. It was not for his musical abilities. Big surprise.

The Broadway Casting Couch!

He does sleep around.  A lot.
First show: the composer
Second show: the producer
Third show: the director

But I hear everyone hates him because his conducting sucks.

Apparently, so does he.

Finished with my viewing.  Made myself some sautéed chicken breasts with onions and mushrooms - ate about two-thirds of it.  And a yam, which is supposed to be very good for you.  And then some melon balls.  Only sugar in the fruit as far as I know.

It does, but how many people are lucky enough to live only 7 minutes away from an airport.
