Good morning, all!  I will shortly head down to Toyland.  FedEx, who has once again screwed up the pickup info, will hopefully arrive and tote three more cartons to the Miami University Library.  As with the last shipment, there have been three phone calls to Fed Ex to get the information correct, so we'll see.

If they arrive early enough, I can then go to City Center and pickup my check.  We'll see.

No word on my appt. with the therapist yet....I guess I will call again.

Working on the bios and photos for the slide show for the lobby for 7B/7B......I still need one photo and three bios.

I needed three photos and four bios last night, but I got two photos and one bio this morning. So......I am sure said persons would not like to have a blank slide and the words PHOTO & BIO NOT AVAILABLE.....

I am sure they will turn them in the day AFTER I finish the slideshow....and I am NOT doing it over for anyone.

Yesterday Mr. Mercedes became available at the library.  I can't remember why I put a hold on it.  Chances are I will have to let it go back into my queue as I don't have time to read it.

HERE'S LUCY is as bad as has been stated here, however, COZI TV edits it so much a lot of the jokes are missing or the set up is gone.  They also never show the end credits.....just a distributor logo....it's distressing and makes a bad show even worse.

They've also messed up MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY......in the same way.  And they keep showing that awful 10th season when Danny and Kathy spent all their time in Europe and the insufferable Bunny and Charley Halper were watching the kids.....

Antenna TV also does a pretty bad job of cutting although they show the credits but you can tell it's been chopped up. Both ME TV and the about to launch Decades both do a better job of editing and they both show the credits which is nice when you come across a face from the past but don't remember the name of the performer.

Exactly DR BEN....ME TV and ANTENNA TV both show the credits, although sometimes they use weird syndication intros from different seasons than the episodes are from.

I don't have DECADES, but it may show up eventually.

I don't have DECADES, but it may show up eventually.

Decades is over the air. It's part of CBS owned and operated over the air stations. I don't know if it will go on cable company menus. It's been running in "binge" format in New York since January. The official launch is Monday, May 25th. A lot of their programming is also on ME TV but there are things they will be showing that don't appear on other channels. I like ME but the problem with it in NY is they give up the hours from 6am-9pm for infomercials and some of the good programming is not run because they would rather sell Wen Hair Care and make up and skin care and supplements. Oh, well. You take what you can get with over the air broadcasts.

Decades (http://www.decades.com/file/DECADES_BINGE_Calendar_update_03052015.pdf)

We also just got a new over the air channel called

Laff (http://www.laff.com/schedule/)

It started after LiveWell Network announced they are shutting down. LiveWell used to broadcast in HD on 7.2 and Standard Def on 7.3. When they decided to close down they kept the broadcast in HD on 7.2 and switched to Laff on 7.3 The programming is mostly sitcoms (Empty Nest, Drew Carey, Ellen, Spin City and Grace Under Fire seem to be the extent of their line up) They also show "comedy" movies. The tag line is "Laff...you know you want to"

I don't know if LiveWell will shut down completely in a few months (they are not producing any more of their home/improvement/talk shows). They run Home with Lisa Quinn, Knock it Off which is a DIY show, the Steven and Chris Show from Canada and other "self-improvement" series.

And I am home.  The bus ride on the No 7 was so god-awful with wheelchairs and walkers and no room for the elderly and/or infirm who can walk with a cane that I got off the first and boarded the next to come along. By the time it reached my neighborhod, it was jammed with more wlkers and two wheelchairs.  each wheelchair takes up three seats reserved for the elderly and infirm and where the fat hell do the goddam MTA board think those misplaced elderly and supposed to sit on a crowded bus.  Fuckem.

LiveWellNetwork (LWN, which I used to call the Lawn channel) ended at the beginning of the year and was replaced by Movies!. We had This, and that was moved to another secondary digital channel. Along with that move, these were added: GRIT (action/adventure movies), ESCAPE (reruns of Unsolved Mysteries, "chick flicks" and Dateline reruns), GET (older minor classic movies usually themed around a star like Melvyn Douglas or Jane Powell. Justice TV and ION are available but I think the mountain blocks my antenna's ability to get those channels.

I very rarely watch COZI due to the aforementioned reasons, plus I don't care for their lineup. The only show I even tune in on occasion is The Avengers but that is chopped too.

We have Movies, This, Grit, Escape, Get and Justice as well. We have all 3 Ion channels, one of which seems to binge on Criminal Minds, interrupted by Blue Bloods. They used to binge on Ghost Whisperer and then they took it off the schedule completely but they recently put it back on a couple of afternoons a week. We also get a country music tv station called Zuus Country and a sub channel Soul of the South Network. We also get 2 South Asian stations along with them but I skip them

It's not my show.  I wanted it to run long enough to get recorded so i could hear Steve's work and make some more money.  The people who supported the TV reality show seem not to be people who like musicals.

My friends, who've unofficially adopted me here in Arizona, bought me a ticket to attend the George Noory/Contact in the Desert event at Joshua Tree/29 Palms at the end of May. They know how much I enjoy the Coast-to-Coast AM radio program and wanted to do this for me in celebration of my so-far good health news. I couldn't afford the $250 weekend ticket, but now I have the problem of getting to my friends. They will take me back home here in Tucson.

Greyhound would fit the bill, but I hear too many horror stories. I guess I could rent a car, but even though I'm 50, I don't have that many driving sorties notched on my driver license. I'm not the worst, but I'm a pokey driver and driving makes me very tired, more so now since my illness, etc.

If anyone has any thoughts, I could use another perspective. I'm very afraid of Greyhound. The last time I rode with them was back in 1991, and from what I'm hearing, they've gotten even worse since that time.

DR Dan is that about a six hour drive?  I know people who love the bus but I did not care for it the one time I rode is from here to Portland which is about a 4 1/2 hour drive.  I do not like long drives if I am the one driving.  Too bad the train isn't an option.  Your friends are very generous.  Do they expect you to take the bus?

Yes,just about 6 hours. Greyhound is the awful only game in town. I'm very afraid to take Greyhound. It's amazing they're still in business.

Amtrak would be a nice alternative, except their routes sort of overshoot where I need to be. I'm looking into this further, but am getting panicked.

Well, I must be off.  Theater Artists Olympia is having a special board meeting to discuss some damage that happened at The Midnight Sun during the last rental. :P Even though the group that rented it wasn't at fault (some attendees to their event were), they're being real helpful about the whole situation.  So, we'll see how this is all resolved.

Be back later.

Fuckem.

Which is exactly the reason I can't ever come back to New York.

Listening to the new On the 20th Century recording. The music still sounds great -- thrilling, in fact -- and some of Kristin Chenoweth works, as well as Andy Karl, but the chorus lacks the delicious crispness of the original. But it's nice to get the whole score, all of the stuff that couldn't fit onto one disc before.

Peter Gallagher sounds as if he's channeling Tim Curry.

Elmore, any response to Duck Commander Musical closing after only 1 month?

It's not my show.  I wanted it to run long enough to get recorded so i could hear Steve's work and make some more money.  The people who supported the TV reality show seem not to be people who like musicals.

I think that the people who enjoy DUCK DYNASTY don't go to Las Vegas.

In addition to trying not to worry about my upcoming lab work, pre-surgical screening and cardiology visit on 5/20, I now have the worry of how to get to Parker. The most logical solution would be to rent a car but I don't think I can drive that far.

The idea of travelling on a Greyhound bus is freaking me out. Maybe a good night's sleep will help sort things out. I hope so anyway.

I had my first HHW dream last night.  I was in the lobby of a hotel in New York City.  I was kind of sprawled out on a sofa, and I saw Ginny and Richard coming out of the hotel elevator.  As they walked past me I said, "Hi Ginny, we meet at last."

Ginny got this quizzical look on her face, so I said, "It's me Ginny, it's TCB!"  She looked back at Richard, and he just shook his head.  Then she looked back at me like I was one of the poor mentally challenged, she grabbed Richard's hand and the two of them hurried away out of the hotel thru the revolving doors.

And then I woke up!
