Well, you've read the notes, the notes had their fifteen seconds of rain, and now it is time for you to post until the rainy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SKOOKUM!
-
DR John G. - thanks for the update. Glad to hear that your friend Carol is improving.
-
~ ~ ~ VIBES ~ ~ ~ for the niece of DR Jennifer!

Isn't there a song in Les Miz called "A Little Fall of Rain"?
-
If not, there should be.

Precious was up at 4:56 a.m. this morning and decided to stay out almost 15 minutes. I couldn't stand and wait for her all that time. Of course, I didn't put on my glasses because she is usually out and right back.....so I couldn't see where she was....and I didn't want to start calling for her....
So of course, my leg started hurting again. And so I am up.
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee!
-
Got a bunch of things that have to get done today, and then I'm sitting through a local WEST SIDE STORY tonight. I'm not exactly up for sitting through a WSS, but sit through it, I must.
-
Good morning, all! This morning I am stuck here for a home visit from my HMO. This seems a complete waste of time since I am not housebound and I just saw my doctor several weeks ago. And since, so far as I know, all my medical information including my current meds and test results shoukd be in the HMO's master computer, WTF?
So, as soon as this nurse is gone, I'm off to City Center to pick up a check before I stop at my HMO to see the results of my patch test from Wednesday.
-
DR TCB, I'm sorry that DR Ginny and Richard were so awful to you in your dream. I would have been much worse.
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vibes for DR JRand64! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think IT was the last Stephen King book I read. When we go to the point in the book where the boys had to have sex with the girl to escape, I thought, I've read this long - too long, really - piece of junk to get to the author's psychosexual hangups and stopped reading him.
I still think 'SALEM'S LOT and THE SHINING are his best novels and the best film version is CARRIE, which I thought improved on the novel. I also enjoyed his book on horror DANSE MACABRE.
-
I've done enough damage this morning.
Good morning to all.
To answer Jane's question from yesterday.
I won't know until I wake up.
It is definitely a partial, but there is a possibility that it might be a complete knee replacement. The surgeon will decided when he opens me up.
I am also having my meniscus removed.
-
Tomorrow will be final day at work for at least three months.
-
I will not bringing my laptop with me to the hospital and rehab. I am leaving it for my mother to use.
I signed up for twitter although I haven't used it yet.
-
Sorry to hear you're still in pain Jack. Hope the issue is resolved soon with good news.
-
Good luck w/the surgery Mike.
Is your mother there now and how long is she staying? That is nice she can be there for you.
How will we know you are ok? I have the same question for DR Dan when he has his surgery.
I'll have to take a look at that Cannon Films documentary.
My first film was distributed by Cannon.
If I feel like schlepping up to Redbox, I'll rent SELMA.
Since I consider myself to be primarily a storyteller, this posting on Amazon, is perhaps the best review I've ever had.
Thanks for the vibes. If it was just one or two races it wouldn't matter as much. But she is signed up for 17 races in 3 days. so that is a lot.
Is anybody else having ridiculously hot weather? It has been sunny and 80s every day.
Very nice DR Druxy :)
-
Good morning, all.
Vibes for Mike, JRand, TCB and all.
Congrats, Druxy!
-
Health vibes to Jrand and Mike.
-
Hope all goes well, Larry
-
Very much enjoyed TCB's dream. Especially the part when DH Richard just shook his head.
-
The healthcare nurse has left and I am heading to City Center. Joshie has the day off and has beat it out of town for the weekend.
-
Planning to get out of town for a few days to visit mom for Mothers Day!
-
And dad of course, too!
-
Nice link DR FJL.
-
Glad the visit went well DR ELMORE......I am sending you GOOD riding the bus vibes.
Thanks to all.....yes DR JANE I am doing my recommended stretches.....
Since writing about my pain is boring, I can imagine how boring it must be to read, so I may not have much to say today.... Time will tell.
-
It may not seem like it yet but the stretches should be helping. With all the lifting Keith has had to do Keith is having issues and doing stretches for his hack, hip & sciatica.
-
I am just having continued toe issues, plus my eye hurts. It is likely due to lack of sleep. I almost called the eye doctor yesterday to get it checked and decided not to. It then, of course, was worse by last night.
-
I am home from all errands. My test was negative, but I expected it to be.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! Sorry to be E & T yesterday - I had errands, lunch & coffee with a reluctantly-retired friend, a frustrating visit with Mom, and a dinner/lecture event at the local campus with Richard. I was wiped out last night and had to attend an AAUW member's funeral this morning.
-
DR TCB, I'm sorry that DR Ginny and Richard were so awful to you in your dream. I would have been much worse.
DR TCB, those people had to be imposters, because in MY dreams last night Richard and I were in Paris. And I'm very much looking forward to meeting you someday!
-
Is anybody else having ridiculously hot weather? It has been sunny and 80s every day.
Here, too, DR Jennifer. We finally turned on the air-conditioning today because it's hot AND humid. Too soon...
-
I am home from all errands. My test was negative, but I expected it to be.
Still, it is always nice to hear the word :)
Nice review, Druxy.
I'm up, I'm up. Eight hours I think.
Kind of gray out.
-
Successful surgery vibes to DR Michael!
-
Health vibes and just-plain-feel-better-vibes to everyone, and in particular DRs Jack and Tom and Larry!
-
How will we know you are ok? I have the same question for DR Dan when he has his surgery.
I'm not exactly sure DR Jane. The main goal is similar to putting the stuffing back into a teddy bear, and having the teddy bear kinda sorta look like he did before, not exactly of course. But, unlike a teddy bear, the surgeon will want to make sure that the innards and plumbing will work and no resectioning will be needed.
Indeed it is!
-
Interesting analogy DR Dan.
Know that we will all be worried until we hear you are ok.
-
DR Ginny I hope you have some fun today.
First, I had lunch and a nap. Now I'm in my Momcave to finish up a papercrafting project to give Mom for Mother's Day and to do some prep for Monday's end-of-year AAUW meeting.
Changeable weather, clouds and rain,
Cold and snow, ice and slush,
Longing for days to soothe my pain
Swathed by plants, green and lush
Cold and snow, ice and slush
Were familiar friends when I was young
Swathed by plants, green and lush
I would hear the tunes the birds had sung
Where, familiar friends when I was young
No longer near but moved away
I would hear the tunes the birds had sung
Memories held close yet kept tears at bay
No longer near but moved away
As years go by, I can’t complain
Memories held close, yet keep fear at bay
Changeable weather, clouds and rain
Thanks. The eye problem began in Vancouver when I wasn't sleeping. I probably need about 20 hours of sleep to clear it up.
Of course all the cleaning out has triggered my allergies, but that is to be expected. They could be worse so I'm not complaining.
That sounds like a nice gift.
Bryan sent flowers, yesterday, smart of him to send them early or I would have had to trash fresh flowers when we moved.
It's a class on the Canvas MOOC and the class is called "How Writers Write Poetry" offered by the University of Iowa.
Thank you DR Jane and DR John G. I didn't think it was any good. I write and write, and throw away and rewrite. Then I hate what I wrote. Then I walk away. Then I tear apart what I thought was good and there's nothing left. Then when the deadline is upon me, there's the assignment all finished, but I still didn't think much of it. Your kind words mean a lot.
Back from a chicken salad sandwich and the disturbing and upsetting news that the helper is going away for three months to be with her new boyfriend in England. He's been here for the past two. She'll be back in October and assures me she'll find a replacement and train them before she leaves. I hate change, as most know, and I never really have to worry about anything with the helper, so as long as she finds me someone who's trustworthy and not a flake and who will just continue like the helper so that I don't have to worry about anything, it will be fine.
I am nervously awaiting for swimming results. They posted the times the racers have going into the swim meet. And wow some of the swimmers from Toronto are crazy good. i think it will be very hard to win a medal. Although at least they separated 9 year olds and 10 year olds. When she swims here they are grouped together.
That kid should be placed with the guy upstairs I have to deal with. They are either the clumsiest people or the most rude, or both. His girlfriend-- they're both maybe 20-- is about the graceless young woman I have ever seen. She's always carrying around the notorious red plastic cup, which may indicate beverages other than the soft variety if you catch my drift. ::)
-
Well, ABC cancelled "The Taste" which is a step in the right direction. Some of the chefs on that show were intolerable boors. Particularly the guy with the orange crocs.
-
ABC, on the other hand, is bringing back some retooled "adult" version of "The Muppet Show". With the way the networks bring back old shows and ruin them, I'm not holding out hope. CBS's remake of "The Odd Couple" is terrible.
Ultrascan on Monday.
Home before the last of 3 shows for this Addams thing. Can't wait for it to be done.
The Taste is different from The Chew. Both shows are/were broadcast on ABC. The Chew is still on in the afternoon but The Taste, a cooking competition show has been cancelled.
-
Back from looking at two spaces. The first was very nice and the second would work but we'd have to rent chairs and the neighborhood is disgusting. So, it's either the first place I saw today or The Grove where we did Inside Out. The place today is more convenient - it's actually just two blocks south of The Federal.
-
In February of this year, there were a bunch of news items that gas would reach its lowest price in years and years this year. Since that announcement, gas prices have risen 1.00. The government really needs to step in at this point and threaten these companies - once they do, down, down, down prices will go. One DOLLAR higher in three months. Not acceptable.
-
Most of the price of gas is tax from local, state and federal hands. The largest tax shares are from local and state. My guess is that Gov. Brown raised gas taxes.
-
Health vibes to all!
Glad to see Galavant was renewed, especially after having met Timothy Omundson at the ALS Gala.
Yes, it was a surprise for a network to take a chance on such a creative show. ABC could have easily trotted out another variation of Shark Tank, or America's Funniest Videos. Remember when Who Wants To Be A Millionaire first started on ABC after being imported from Europe, the ratings were so high, ABC ran it too much and ran it into the ground as a primetime show. It's on daytime, so it's still a big revenue generator. Have a hit daytime TV, you can be the next Judge Judy or Oprah.
-
Well, I must be off. My friend Margo and her friend Marsha (whose birthday is also May 5) are meeting at a local restaurant, Budd Bay Café, for a combined birthday dinner.
-
After that, I'm going to a local bar called Ben Moore's to hear a co-worker sing with a guitarist. They do kind of jazzy arrangements of songs. Her show actually starts at 6:30, but it's supposed to last until 9:30, so I should have plenty of time to see at least part of her show. Then, I'll be home. Busy evening for me!
Be back later!
I decided I needed to tell a few people we are moving next week-lol
The movers said if they finish packing on Wednesday, vs Thursday, they will load us on Thursday. That would be a bit inconvenient as far as I'm concerned.
-
Dan whty do you dislike greyhound? I haven't been on one since 1969 so I am no expert in their service
The last time I rode Greyhound was circa 1991, and that was a lousy experience. The bus had no shock absorbers and seemed to have been invaded by lovely plumes of garlic, sweat and belches. All I have read and heard seems to indicate things have gotten worse despite the company having been taken over by a multinational concern, yadda yadda. The fact remains that the stations are wretched and are in the middle of nowhere even when they are in a city, there's nothing around, or even worse there's nothing around worth going to to spend the layover time. Then, there's panhandling, sketchy people who may take something, and God-knows what else. Besides being accosted by some gang member, I'm always worried about getting sick and having to use a restroom. I am a worry-wart, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to worry about.
Is anybody else having ridiculously hot weather? It has been sunny and 80s every day.
They are expecting almost 18 inches of snow in Rapid City South Dakota, how crazy is that!
-
Six!
-
Hi gang, I'm here!
-
Was it something I said??
-
I am so tired this evening.
-
Kind of like having to read my own posts.
And how is Dan feeling tonight?
-
Good evening!
-
We had a rainy week. Today was ok and tomorrow will be nice but Sunday we may have storms So, the family decided to do DR Sam's birthday and mother's day tomorrow. So I'll be e and t tomorrow and home tomorrow night. I actually like the idea of spending tomorrow with the family and Sunday back in town
-
Good evening, Cilla. How was your week at work?
-
We are supposed to hit 80 tomorrow, and then drop to 74 on Mother's Day.
-
I may go out to the cemetery on Sunday. I can't really get to my mom's grave in my wheelchair, but I can still get pretty close.
-
I may go and look at a used mobile home this weekend. It is out in Puyallup, but that is okay. I used to live there before.
-
It has a wheelchair ramp going to the front door.
-
I had a good week. It was very productive and I'm finally getting things under control at the office. I stopped taking new cases for awhile and it's really given me a chance to spend the time I need to spend on what I have which is a good thing. I may be retained for a high profile case next week. If that happens I'll need to have the rest of things at the office under control. If I don't get the case.....when I get caught up I'll take a vacation. Either way, I win
Hi TCB. I'm doing OK, just worried about the "TO" trip to my friends in Parker AZ. They were very happy with my medical news this past week as well as connecting them with the traditional priest for their Mom's funeral service, so they bought me a ticket to a conference at the end of the month in Joshua Tree. They can't pick me up, but they can drive me back home. My only true options for getting to them is renting a car, or Greyhound. Greyhound would be cheaper. I'm not sure I can drive for 5-6 hours. Just normal town driving when I've had a car to use, makes me tired. I was never like my Dad in that respect. He loved to drive and thought it was the most relaxing thing. I'm 180 degrees the other way. Driving makes me tired, people get me mad, and I can't wait to be at the destination. If only transporters and Mr. Scott were real!
It is an older model than I would like, but it seems to be in fairly good shape.
TCB, the only reason I wouldn't want to live in a mobile home is tornadoes like to hit them. But I don't think you have very many tornadoes out there, so you should be fine
How far away do you have to go. There must be some other way to get you there.
LOL! Yes. they are pretty rare around here. I have owned two different mobiles, and I love them. Just call me trailer trash!
-
Thank you and thanks DR Vixmom.
I feel said I am mupissing someone
Watch your phraseology!
No, I would never call you that. :)
Jane, I figured you would be lounging on a stack of boxes with an icepack on your head!
-
DR TCB would you buy or rent the trailer?
Lol. About to read and then hopefully sleep.
-
Cilla, enjoy your family tomorrow.
-
I would buy it, which is why I am looking at older models.
-
Sleep vibes for DR Jane.
-
Cilla, enjoy your family tomorrow.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. The little grand nephs have a new swing set....well one of those wooden swing/slide/climbing things. It looks cute and will be fun to see them playing on it
-
TCB, hope the MH you look at is just what you're looking for. Will you take someone with you who can look under the trailer to see if everything looks like it's in good shape?
-
Time to get some sleep so I can get up bright and early and hit the road. Night all
-
Didn't feel like watching anything tonight - weird day and am feeling at sea about the helper - I'll feel better when she's found her interim replacement.
-
So, I made a little pasta and have been on You Tube doing not much of anything.
I have to travel from Tucson to Parker. Tucson likes to think of itself as a major city, but it isn't really. There's really no train service. Yes, the two Amtrak routes do stop here but maybe 2-3 times a week and the drop-off points are not where I need to be, and at the price Amtrak charges, won't do me any good anyway because I would still need to find a way from where the train drops off. Even Greyhound doesn't go to Parker. I would have to travel across the state line into California to Blythe which is known as a farm/mail drop on the old Santa Fe line (I think) and, yes, a prison. So, lots of cows and cons.
Yes, but Dan, do you know how to pronounce it??
Before I bought my condo, I was actually looking at a mobile home, but it was a little too old. It had been kept up and was clean, but my mom didn't think that it would last for many more years and I'd just have to get something else too soon.
Yes, George, but that is the one advantage of being old. I only need it another ten years, until I head to the nursing home.
When Johnny Carson was still hosting The Tonight Show, the Puyallup Valley Daffodil Festival would send hundreds of daffodils down to Burbank every year to decorate his set. It was always hysterical to hear Johnny try to thank the Festival.
-
Chas, what are you doing up this late, or this early?
-
Well.....
G'night!
-
We need more reader reviews! :)
-
I haven't had time to just sit and read a physical book. :(
-
I usually read when I'm eating, unless I'm eating with friends.
-
BK, are there plans for a Kindle or e-book version?
-
Otherwise, I will read it soon...it'll just take me longer.
-
No eBook on this one for right now.
