Well, you've read the notes, the notes were 25% funded and climbed ev'ry mountain, and now it is time for you to post until the funded cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CYNOSURE!
-
Hello.
-
I am awake way too soon after falling asleep quickly.
-
I'm up, too
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
First after Ben!
-
Funding vibes for BK!
-
~ ~ ~ most excellent vibes and xylophones for a day with no annoyances ~ ~ ~ for bk!!!!!
-
Good morning, all.
DR Elmore: Chord progression dream! Oy!
But the whole dream was crazy. (Like that's saying something...) Will describe later.
For now, I am off for some pancakes. Later! Vibes to all!
-
Good morning, all! I will shortly head down to Toyland and finish up the first edit of Gentlemen, Be Seated!
Last night I had several bizarre dreams but all I remember is the last: I was writing a play with a group of black actors about a black activist from the 1960s who was living in Europe and had become a model of middle-class respectability. When I woke, we had just had a rehearsal where I had to read one character's part, and I couldn't read my own writing. I kept saying, I cannot believe no one typed out this script.
And I am off!
-
Good Morning to all. Hope all goes well for everybody today.
-
No annoyance vibes for MR BK.
Continued recovery vibes for DR MICHAEL.
Audition vibes for DR SINGDAW.
Continued moving vibes for DR JANE.
Continued good health vibes for DR DAN M and DR VIXMOM.
-
It seems as if the Midwestern Contingent of HHW is getting close but not within proximity.
DR CILLA LIZ - a dog in a dream sometimes is a symbol of a task at hand. The fact that you took him in and gave him bath indicates that you have completed something that was long hanging over your head - or since you now had MANY dogs....the task has been cut down to size.
-
DR ELMORE - your dream indicates that you feel many people do not understand what you do. You are also stepping outside your usual work zone and find the work stimulating even though you are not sure what you are doing is correct.

I am off!
You certainly are. And most often, acknowledging this is the first step on your road to recovery.
-
;D
-
And I am back. The omens are not good for going out today.
I stopped at the bank on Broadway & 82nd to get some money from the ATM. The ATM proceeded smoothly until it told me "Take your cash" and "Take your receipt." I waited and waited. Nothing happened. Then the screen started flashing "Out of Order." After dragging the bank manager and one of the other bank officials into it, i came home to check the bank balance online.
Sure enough, the funds were deducted. Now I have to go back with the printout of my account and get my cash. There will be no problem with that, but it's all a complete nuisance, and now it's too late to head downtown; I was already running later than I like.
I am no longer going to Toyland this morning. This really pisses me off.

Quothe the pot. :)

TOD:
No idea what I'm going to watch this weekend.
Last night, I pulled a 1996 thriller out of our 4000+ DVD/Blu-ray library: EXTREME MEASURES with Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman.
Enjoyed it. It holds up pretty well.
I'm looking forward to seeing AMERICAN SNIPER, which will be released onto home video either next week or the week after.
-
After about a week, I'm 14 pages into writing my new play, the latest in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series.
This is another multiple character piece and it deals with what is possibly the most shocking of all Hollywood scandals.
-
I'm up, too
.
I bet you are asleep now ;)
-
I eventually fell back to sleep and in total got more than the night before which was very little.
-
Good Morning to all. Hope all goes well for everybody today.
Ditoo and thank you.
-
No annoyance vibes for MR BK.
Continued recovery vibes for DR MICHAEL.
Audition vibes for DR SINGDAW.
Continued moving vibes for DR JANE.
Continued good health vibes for DR DAN M and DR VIXMOM.
Three dittos, a thank you, and another ditto.
-
DR elmore you do have the strangest, annoying bad luck. May the rest of your day be better.
-
I have about an hours worth of work to finish my personal packing and be ready before the movers arrive.
-
I hope the rain stops while they are loading, unloading, and loading again. They can't bring the big moving truck up here and need to transfer everything using a smaller one.
-
I hope all our personal stuff fits into the car.
-
And the word of the day is: CYNOSURE!
And The Song Of The Day Is: MY NEW CELEBRITY IS YOU
-
Good morning, all.
Irritation-free vibes for BK.
-
I had to go to the post office and then I stopped at my bank to get a new debit card. I got home and resolved the cash problem this morning. They assured me it will be credited back to my account within 48 hours.
I have yet to deal today with my lease renewal and Tams-Witmark.
-
48 hours is a long time when it is their error.
-
I am waiting for Keith to return from getting coffee, bananas, and drinks for the crew. We will then load the car. I pray it all fits.
-
I had better put my shoes on. It is wet out there.
-
Friday morning greetings! I've been on the phone this morning with 2 women who have spent too much time alone and have kind of lost their grip. One, of course, is my mother, so I will go visit her this afternoon.
-
DR Jane, I hope today goes as smoothly as possible!

You are kind to spend time with the other woman when you have your mother to deal with.
-
DR Jane, I hope today goes as smoothly as possible!
Thank you. We loaded our car with room to take the trash out with us. Where we will leave it I don't know.
-
The crew is loading our belongings. Now we basically hang out and watch them all day.
-
We packed my keyboard and I am using the one on the laptop. I have to push harder on it. My main problem is the space bar. I hit the bar but it doesn't space. I expect by the end of the month I will be use to this keyboard.
-
I could ramble all day but I don't have a chair to sit on.
-
Problem solved. I took back one of the bar stools.
-
We have 4 beautiful bar stools. We expect only 3 to fit the new counter, and since the counter is higher they might be too short. I hope not as I really like these bar stools.
-
Vibes all around, and thank you vibes for all who have well wished!
-
At this angle the space bar is easier to work, still not perfect but easier.
-
Last night I was watching my usual MeTV lineup, and it was the first time I saw Cindy Williams promoting the Laverne & Shirley reruns on the channel. She appeared with The Big Ragu, Eddie Mekka. This was during the Carol Burnett rerun.
-
I should be reading. I am now 10 books behind my reading schedule.
-
I wanted to call the Vancouver post office to find out how to get a key for our mailbox, however, our phone has been shut off.
-
At least I have the internet, for now.
-
HONEYMOONERS
Bruce, if you get a chance to see the pre- and post-Audrey Meadows Honeymooners which I think is Pert Kelton and Sheila MacRae, you realize that Audrey's Alice was lightning-in-a-bottle. Not that Kelton and MacRae were bad or anything. They just brought a different spice to the stew. But, Meadows's Alice is iconic.

CD:
Uri Caine - Rhapsody in Blue (Caine's performances of Gershwin)

DR Larry, I send you many vibes of tolerance and strength for today's problems! How frustrating.
-
I used up all my angry energy working on my apartment: I had to put away the books I dragged home from Toyland, and redo the space for the summer. I needed to move a filing cabinet to leave enough space around the air conditioner to allow it to work at maximum capacity and redo my computer table.
I think I like the way everything looks now.
-
So long to B.B. King! What a great performer. Had the good fortune to see him in concert.
I guess now he is riding with the King.
Not the best quality, but here's B.B. on Sanford and Son:

Thanks, DR DanM! I think the apartment work has been a good use of negative energy. I also got the revised work on the first six numbers of Gentlemen, Be Seated! Act Two, so I can soon begin the second edit and that cheered me up.
Next up: lease renewal. Then I can chill out.

I'm antsy. Not enough exercise but I like sleepy about 10 hours every night.
-
Let the spirit move you vibes for Singdaw.
Finally caught up on yesterday's posts.
Btw, the name of my college newspaper's entertainment section one year was Chimura. Why? I dunno.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Woke up at ten and refused to get out of bed and answered e-mails from there.
-
Beautiful day here weather wise.
-
Back from a cup of soup and a bagel to tide me over to dinner.
-
The annoyance that's been avoided happened, but I've dealt with it as best I can.

Topic of the Day: I have the new revival cast recording to Side Show (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P80W9KQ?ie=UTF8&tag=castalbums-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00P80W9KQ), and then a CD that just arrived today direct from Broadway Records, Side Show: Added Attractions - Live at 54 Below (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UJH21SS?ie=UTF8&tag=castalbums-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00UJH21SS).
-
What really surprises me is that the "Added Attractions" CD is only 36 minutes long...that's not really a lot for a live recording. :-\
But I'm sure it's wonderful. I'm going to listen to it right now.
-
I cannot tell you how many bullets I've dodged today - so far successfully. Now we just need a cease fire for a week or two.

Don't give me too much credit, DR Jane, because the one who's not my mother called ME. And most of what she's complaining about would be a non-issue if she'd join us in the 21st century and use email.

And Mom was all upset today because she was sure her wallet had been stolen. Now, this is the wallet she told me 2 weeks ago she was going to hide. Apparently she did but didn't remember doing so. I found it and told her to leave it in her purse. Any questions about why I confiscated the checkbook and credit card when she moved?
-
I spent my negative energy chopping chicken, celery, and green pepper for a salad for dinner and carrots to go with it.
-
I wanted to call the Vancouver post office to find out how to get a key for our mailbox, however, our phone has been shut off.
No cell phones?
-
Negative energy be gone vibes for all in need.
-
Off for some Skyline Chili in a few.

Hiding something is never a good idea. I'm glad you found it.

Mmm, that sounds good!

LOL We do but it is difficult for me to hear on my cell. I will wait until I'm sure the two keys we have that didn't fit anything are not for the mailbox. We didn't know our box number before so I couldn't test them.
-
The movers are progressing nicely and they should be finished earlier than we expected. We were even able to go for a walk.
-
My chair is wrapped and ready to be loaded so I have to stand.
-
If we were moving, I'm pretty sure we would not get a landline in the new place. I'm ready to yank the one we have - especially before the presidential campaign gets in full gear.
-
They are loading the chairs last so we can have them first in the condo.
-
We returned from the walk to an email from our Vancouver realtor saying the previous owners have emptied the condo and storage room of their furniture. We were very concerned it would still be there. We are very relieved.
-
I need to clean a bit.

OMFG! Former Fox News Contributor Sandy Rios Claims Amtrak Engineer's Sexuality ''a Factor'' in Deadly Crash (http://www.eonline.com/news/657191/fox-news-correspondent-sandy-rios-claims-amtrak-engineer-s-sexuality-a-factor-in-deadly-crash). WTF??
And she claimed that the train was "clocked at 160 miles per hour on that curve..." No, it was 106 mph. She also kept saying his last name as "Bosnian," when it's Bostian. But she's not the only one making mistakes. The writer of the article actually spelled his name as "Bostonian." ::)
-
Today, the mail actually arrived by 4:30, but the check that was mailed on Monday has not yet arrived. I also worry about postal theft.

She is only one more idiot reporting on Faux News. Since she worries about the engineer's sexuality, I will wonder about hers: i wonder how many people someone as stupid as she had to have sex with to land that Fox News job?
-
Well, new info on that train wreck: an earlier train reported being fired at or having rocks thrown at it, and they now believe that something struck the windshield of the train that derailed.
-
Scary.
-
I just walked around the house. They have a lot more left than I realized, maybe a couple of more hours worth of work.
-
I think I will begin a new book.
-
Good evening!
-
Off for some Skyline Chili in a few.
I am just back from wolfing down a Gold Star 5-way.
I haven't had these nearly often enough to have developed a strong preference, so I go back and forth on each visit.
This time, however, I'll be taking a few cans of each one's chili back with me, and will do some leisurely taste comparisons in the comfort of home. (I just need the actual chili. I'll make the spaghetti and grate the cheese, etc.)
-
Those will, of course, be washed down with Vernors. Several more 12-packs, to be precise.
-
Yes, we Midwestern HHWers are "this close" to an actual get-together. If each of us drove an hour or so we could all collide in the middle somewhere, but time is not our friend this week.
-
Speaking of Verner's. Keith can buy it here but we didn't see any at in Vancouver. I went online and found we can order it through Wallmart and have it shipped to the store.
-
Those will, of course, be washed down with Vernors. Several more 12-packs, to be precise.
Ah, Vernors . . .
We have a new Chinese restaurant in the area. A little pricey, but very deelish. The packaging of the delivery was art. i've never received a Chinese delivery so beautifully assembled!
-
Next time take a photo of the packaging ;)
-
For a bad morning out, the remainder of the day indoors was quite rewarding and I'm very happy with my accomplishments.
-
In other news, Krispy Kreme -- which some of you will recall had opened a number of stores north of the Mason-Dixon line back in the 1990s, only to retreat a couple of years later because they overdid it -- is once again constructing a standalone store right here on Beechmont Avenue.
-
I am looking forward to tonight's TAR finale.
I was super disappointed in this week's DWTS results.
-
Good evening. It is raining in Phoenix. In May.
-
The critically acknowledged worst episode of the original Star Trek is just ending now on MeTV. Bones McCoy nearly totally has a conniption fit trying to reconnect Spock's brain (the title of the episode).
-
Tonight is the GRIMM finale!
I miss former DR MattH and hus blow-by-blow daily TV schedule!
-
GRIMM was a great finale!
-
Yes, we Midwestern HHWers are "this close" to an actual get-together. If each of us drove an hour or so we could all collide in the middle somewhere, but time is not our friend this week.
Time is a four-letter word, my friend.

I could use a Vernor's. Now.
-
I've been binge-watching GRACE & FRANKIE on NetFlix.
And drinking wine.
And eating chocolate.

Is GRACE & FRANKIE any good? I was thinking about checking this out.
-
And now, I must be going home. It's time to leave work, and since I have my car back, I can drive to do some shopping before I go home.
Until later!
-
Well, DR George, you can't knock the cast. And I've laughed out loud several times.
-
Enough screen time. Signing off to read - 'night!
-
One more.
-
Five!
-
Writing is exhausting.

C'mon DR John G., you've got to upgrade from that chisel and stone!

I've been doing a little of both. I never would have put that together, just thought I'd been seeing too many lost dogs on facebook, lol
-
Negative energy be gone vibes for all in need.
Boy I could have used that earlier today
-
If we were moving, I'm pretty sure we would not get a landline in the new place. I'm ready to yank the one we have - especially before the presidential campaign gets in full gear.
It's already in full gear here. I'm going to see Donald Trump in the morning. I don't think there will be too many this early. I have no interest in ever voting for him, but am interested in going to see him
-
This has been a very frustrating week. It didn't end on a good note. I doubt it will be a problem, but we'll see.

Probably a minor key. :D

the previous owners have emptied the condo and storage room of their furniture.
Very good news, indeed!

the previous owners have emptied the condo and storage room of their furniture.

DR singdaw, thank you very much for being a great sing and an even better daw!

*blushing*
-
Back from an evening with the national tour of Camelot, which I had never seen on the stage.
-
The staging was - interesting. Some of the acting was quite good. Most of the singing was mediocre.
-
It didn't help that the orchestra was reduced to 5 pieces - conductor/keyboards, percussion, guitar/lute, cello, and "reed." Oy!
-
I hadn't realized just how melancholy a show it is.
-
Sounds almost like they did a Cabaret staging of Camelot. They should set up tables and chairs in the great hall and have ladies of the night serve cocktails with an emcee who has a painted kabuki face. 8)

So do I.

After the show, waiting outside the theatre for our Uber ride, we engaged in a delightful conversation with the actor who played Mordred. A very personable young man.
-
DR Jane - I am sure that you will start to build new adventures, new customs, and new memories in your new home. Still, the whole moving process is extremely unnerving and stressful.
-
DR Michael has not updated his Twitter account since pre-op early yesterday morning. I hope he is OK.
-
Thank you DR Singdaw. I am feeling relaxed at the moment except that I am either coming down with a cold or my allergies are really bothering me.
-
My guess is that DR Michael is a bit drugged up tonight and will be back tomorrow.
Good Vibes to him.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I would be interested to hear your impressions of the Sideshow "extras" CD, DR George.
-
Jane, are you now en route to the new condo or will you be staying somewhere temporarily? Or some other plan?
-
Hello and good night, DR Jeanne!
-
Hi, Sing. I really think you need to get out more and experience some cultural events.
-
Sing just left. Sigh.
-
Where is TCB tonight?
-
I am very tired.
Good night.
-
I just finished watching last night's season finale of "Grey's Anatomy."
-
I'm now watching (sort of) a movie called "The Midnight Meat Train" that I got from Netflix. It's based on a short story by Clive Barker and stars Bradley Cooper and has Roger Bart and Brooke Shields.
-
I don't remember why I put it in my holds queue. I vaguely remember that it was mentioned recently (within the last couple of weeks, maybe) but I'm not sure where. I hate it when that happens. :P
-

Did I hear someone calling my name?

Maybe TAO is planning to do a musical version next summer?
-
Sorry I have been E & T today. I was smacked in the face with a bout of depression this evening. I am usually pretty good about keeping my chin up; but every once in a while, the whole thing just kind cf crumbles down around me.
Sorry, tomorrow is another day.
-
Back from dinner and seeing a new musical, which is the third time I'm seeing it, having seen its developmental readings. I'm not going to say much in the notes because they're all friends of mine - I will only say that I am endlessly astonished that developmental readings are done but the changes from the first to now, other than adding one more one-act to the mix, are just minimal. They did take my one major note from last year and that did help things along.
-
I would be interested to hear your impressions of the Sideshow "extras" CD, DR George.
I really enjoyed the CD! It was nice to have the extended versions of some of the songs (as compared to the official cast recording), the few songs that were not on the cast recording and some that were cut from the show. They were all very well sung. I was in a production a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the show, so I'm partial to it. The only thing that was kind of disappointing was that the recording was so short...but that's just me. Otherwise, I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who even just likes the show. :)
-
Well, DR George, you can't knock the cast. And I've laughed out loud several times.
Thanks, Ginny. I guess I'll have to check this out.
