Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of food, glorious food and other things, and now it is time for you to post until the glorious cows come home.

This week's been a little busier than usual for this time of year at the tax office.  A financial form that the government only asks for every five years (about foreign operations, if anyone cares about the subject :) )  is due end of this week, so we've been busy either getting the form out or getting requests for extensions in.

In Zumba news,

A report that a New York Police Dept head had spent $60,000 to create a zumba studio for the police.

Good morning, all.

I have to call my heating/cooling people out again, because even though everything is running perfectly since the annual tune-up, you could hang a few sides of beef on the first floor.  It's cooling way too unevenly, so some adjustment on something or other needs to be made.  We've been through this before, and they'll figure it out.

Coffee!    Oh. Here it is.

Had some kind of a musical/keyboard dream, but beyond a couple of abstractions that kept repeating themselves, there seems to be nothing to recall.

Good morning, all!  I stayed up too late watching the first DVD of season 1 of "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries."  I really love them.  I caught several of them on and off on PBS, but now i'm going to watch them all.

First thing this morning, I have a trip to the post office to return an error to Amazon. Then, i'm back to the carton search. Tomorrow, a trip to Toyland and then PAINT YOUR WAGON on Friday.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I'll be E & T today because I'm going to the University of Dayton to visit a friend who's working there after retiring from the public library.  We haven't seen each other, except at another former co-worker's funeral last July, for a year and a half.  Lots to catch up on!

I have been to the post office, used my replacement debit card, had some breakfast, and i think i am ready to face the day.

Mercer Health & Life Insurance. whose life insurance policy I absent-mindedly allowed to lapse in Jan., has given me the runaround since i discovered this mess in Feb.  Yesterday, after telling me two weeks ago that they had not received my application of March, although I had a priority mail tracer confirming it had been delivered, they tld me they couldn't accept my application since I was over 60.

I just mailed them a thank you and screw you letter telling them that I was 40 when I'd joined the Local 802 group policy and, if the asses were not going to help me correct my error, then I wanted a refund of the money I'd paid them for the past 25+ years.  I hate these shits. The worst part of this was their continual forcing me to jump through their hoops.

I'll see if I can get AARP life insurance now.  Until my idiot brothers sell that Ohio property, I cannot afford to die with no life insurance.

Larry, look for those commercials on television for people between the ages of 45 and 85 for life insurance, including AARP.

The prevailing feeling is, if you're over 60 could you just please die and leave room for the rest of the people.

I have already been there, DR Ben!  AARP is sending me information.  What pisses me off is that those Mercer creeps have been happily taking my money for years and then - even though it was my error - say fuck off to me.

Toyland has a new ruler.  Building management asked the Man from Philadelphia to be out by the 15th since a new tenant has been found. Tomorrow, I will pick up a few more things at the office, speak to the super abut taking some of the furniture out between June 10 and 12, and see if any of my colleagues there want to take any supplies.

I was very happy working there for seven years, and I will miss it.

Today, I was busy...first, in a meeting and then I was ordering high demand titles.  We actually have been leasing books for our adult fiction high demand titles...we keep them only until the holds queue goes below the threshold of five holds per copy, then we get to send them back.  That way, we're not stuck with all these books that will have to be gotten rid of anyway.  We have a "Leased" fund account, and the fund code is "LSD." ;)

Listening to Jane Smiley's "Early Warning," a sequel to "Some Luck." The first book started off with one family and the births of a half-dozen kids. Now we have so many subsequent generations that it's hard to keep all of the grandchildren and their stories straight, but I'm still enjoying it for the historical details that she provides. There's supposed to be a third book. Guess I'll just have to wait.

Well I worked today from 7:30 until 10 pm. And left knowing that there is more  that must be done tomorrow than can possibly be done  I so need to win e lotto

Vixmom, what is your boss' view on this? That everyone must work all the hours possible? I won't ask why he doesn't hire more people, as it's obvious. Does he work these long hours, too?

It was a strange day.

I think it's been a strange week. Mercury retrograde, I suspect. There's a certain pervasive weirdness.

Good morning, all!  I stayed up too late watching the first DVD of season 1 of "Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries."  I really love them.  I caught several of them on and off on PBS, but now i'm going to watch them all.

I adore this series. The costumes are gorgeous--sooo well done--and many of the sets as well. Essie Davis plays Miss Fisher to perfection and such nice chemistry with Jack. Love Mr Butler and Bert and Cec.

Season 3 is starting this month in Australia, I believe, so maybe this fall for the US.

Back from rehearsal, a trip to Gelson's, where I got a little pasta bolognese from their deli and then watched a bit of something.  Done now.

Rehearsal went well - I thought it would only take an hour to block the rest of the show, but it took an hour just to block one musical number - the tap part of it had already been choreographed, but I had to do the song that bookends it - it came out very cute and I'm hoping Kay Cole will come in and finesse it now.

I now have an official ALL CLEAR from the cardiologists.

So, now onward to surgery in June! I passed the cardiac stress test with flying colors. Despite all of the chemotherapy and the possibilities of damage to the heart muscle from the aggressive treatments I've received, I was told that my heart "squeezes" in all ways it should and very well at that!

Hoo and Ray!!  That's great news, Dan!! :D

Anyway, a co-worker of mine told me about a new pizza parlor that opened up in Lacey, about 10 miles away from where I live.  I think I'll go there for dinner now to see how good their pizza is.

Be back later!

Well, the new pizza parlor that my co-worker told me about is called MOD Pizza (http://modpizza.com/locations/lacey-summerwalk/) and they started in Seattle.  I'd never heard of it, but it was pretty good.  They have three different sizes of crust (thin only) or you can get a salad.  You go through the line like at a deli and tell them what toppings you want...you can have as many or as few as you'd like!  It's all one price.

I got their medium (11 inch) with pepperoni, pineapple, sausage and garlic with mozzarella and asiago cheeses and red sauce.  It was quite delish...although next time, I'll ask for extra sauce (I like extra sauce).

It took me about a half hour to go through the line and get my finished cooked pizza.  I assume that's because today was the very first day that they were open.  I don't know if taking a half hour was worth it, but once they get their steady stream of customers and it's not just everyone wanting to know what it's all about, I'm sure that it'll go more quickly.
