Well, you've read the notes, the notes had 40% and have risen, and now it is time for you to post until the 40% and rising cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPRUIK!
-
Good morning, everyone!
-
Thanks to DRs Cillaliz, TCB, and John G. for upping the posting count last evening!
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
Everything is still out.
Verizon is supposed to be at the apartment between 9-12 noon. I even got an e-mail sent last night confirming the appointment. Of course, since I have no Internet I couldn't see it until this morning when I got to the office. Anthony is at the apartment and I hope things will be resolved by lunchtime.
-
And now back to work.
Things are very hectic. We move in less than a month and there is much work to be done before then.
-
Hope everyone is happy and healthy, or will be happy and healthy soon.
-
Bye for now.
-
First post after Ben's soliloquy!
-
Yes, I am awake and dressed having had no sleep - yet!
-
Good morning, all.
Following a series of idiotic annoying dreams. Part of one was kind of interesting, in which I created a certain "look" to parts of downtown Chicago that a couple of friends and I were being driven through. Go figure.
Coffee!
-
What in the HELL is TCB doing up at 4:30 in the morning?
-
Thank you SongDude for acknowledging the work of Cilla, John, and me last evening. Some evenings are harder than others.
-
What in the HELL is TCB doing up at 4:30 in the morning?
I asked myself the same thing.
-
I would take myself out to breakfast, but I had Vicodin in the last 8 hours, so that is something I won't do.
-
So, instead, I put on a hairnet and served myself a cup of joe!
-
Good morning. I didn't sleep well. I kept waking with a start thinking I was hearing a bat. That hasn't happened for a few nights, so I am most disappointed it happened again. Then we had a severe thunderstorm warning at 5:45, so I just got up. It went north of us, but the weather radio kept going off, so no point in trying to sleep
-
Good morning!
-
I really wish this nonsense would stop
-
Wow, north of us they had a 95 mph wind gust. Not fun
-
Do you think maybe you were hearing some distant thunder, and your mind turned it into a bat sound?
-
Wow, north of us they had a 95 mph wind gust. Not fun
Wow is right!
-
Do you think maybe you were hearing some distant thunder, and your mind turned it into a bat sound?
No, I just think I'm going crazy :)
-
Do you think maybe you were hearing some distant thunder, and your mind turned it into a bat sound?
No, I just think I'm going crazy :)
I have that effect on people.
-
It's hard telling what I heard, it could have been a bat trying to get in outside or in the wall, it could have been something else outside, it could have been one of the cats doing something, I don't know. It could have been the news paper hitting the house. Who knows...it could have been almost anything
-
it could have been my imagination
-
I was thinking about it before I went to bed, so that may have had something to do with it
-
Well, Jane, join the early bird club!
-
What in the HELL is TCB doing up at 4:30 in the morning?
So did I though I didn't open my Nook for awhile.
I asked myself the same thing.
-
DR George, thank you for the offer. I will let you know if our DVR didn't record all of The Last Ship. I expect that it did.
-
Is Chas still with us?
-
Well, Jane, join the early bird club!
I do plan on going back to sleep for a little while. I also planned to sleep all night and that obvioysly didn't work.
-
Phone and internet vibes for DR Ben!
-
Well, Jane, join the early bird club!
I do plan on going back to sleep for a little while. I also planned to sleep all night and that obvioysly didn't work.
I resemble that remark, but I can't go back to sleep, need to go to work
-
I wonder if the Supreme Court will have any rulings for us this morning?
-
Luckily, I have no plans tonight, hopefully I'll sleep tonight
-
Luckily, I have no plans tonight, hopefully I'll sleep tonight
No ball game tonight?
-

It sure did! That last jolt of thunder just now really made me jump.
-
DR Cilla your reaction is perfectly normal and with time should improve. Vibes that happens sooner than later!

It is supposed to be daytime here, but the color of the sky is a menacing dark yellow. It almost looks like night time.
-
I fed Nicky an early breakfast, he caught a moth for dessert, and now he is ready for bed.
-
In a way, I am glad that DD Zach is no longer with us. He'd be a basket case right now.
-
I can hear my alarm going off upstairs, I better go turn it off
-
It is supposed to be daytime here, but the color of the sky is a menacing dark yellow. It almost looks like night time.
That's scary. Is the thuderstorm over?
-
DR TCB - does Nicky stay up with you when you can't sleep, or does he just zonk out on his own schedule?
-
Is the thunderstorm over?
Nope!
-
Luckily, I have no plans tonight, hopefully I'll sleep tonight
No ball game tonight?
They are playing the St Paul Saints in St Paul. St. Paul leads the entire association and the Xs are in second (we lead our division) so it should be a really good series
-
It is supposed to be daytime here, but the color of the sky is a menacing dark yellow. It almost looks like night time.
Yellow/green usually means hail
-
DR TCB - does Nicky stay up with you when you can't sleep, or does he just zonk out on his own schedule?
No he usually gets up with me. I think it is more a hope for some kitty cookies rather than concern for me.
-
Yellow/green usually means hail
Or a sinus infection. :)
-
I generally read my Kindle in bed prior to falling asleep. It can sometimes be a challenge to find the darned thing in the morning.
-
At this rate, we will have more posts by nine a.m. than we did last night by nine p.m.
-
DR TCB - I will be following SCOTUSblog this morning if I don't have a customer. They typically live-blog starting a half hour before the decisions are handed down.

DR TCB - I will be following SCOTUSblog this morning if I don't have a customer. They typically live-blog starting a half hour before the decisions are handed down.
A lot of times decisions are announced around 10:00 AM, but not always

Not sure if that's our time or Eastern

Is it autumn yet?
I wish!

This thunder is really rattling the windows.
What time do you leave for work?
-
Today in 1969, Judy Garland died.
-
What time do you leave for work?
In about 20 minutes. I really need to go get in the shower! Or I could just step outside.
-
I would love to stay and help push us at least to PAGE 4, but life intrudes.
-
It's not a good idea to shower during a thunderstorm
-
Today in 1969, Judy Garland died.
I remember when I heard the news.
-
I will be headed to work shortly. I'm hoping for a very productive week. I have a good idea of how I want to change my practice and what I want it to be in the long run, now to put my ideas into action.
-
It's not a good idea to shower during a thunderstorm
Really?
-
The sky is getting lighter. Going to be 90 degrees and humid. Yuck
-
But there is still time to get us to page 4
-
I generally read my Kindle in bed prior to falling asleep. It can sometimes be a challenge to find the darned thing in the morning.
I have had that problem. This morning it was my glasses.
-
But there is still time to get us to page 4
Yes!!

hope everyone has a good day

it's getting closer

Will this do it?

Ah! TCB beat me to the punch. That's ok

Page 4 this early, that should put a smile on BKs face.

I think I am getting sleepy.

hope everyone has a good day
Don't work too hard.

That shouldn't be a problem.

Monday morning greetings! When I saw we were already up to 4 pages I figured a lot of Eastern time zone people would be here. But, no, it's all Central and Pacific folk, including me. Woke up at 5:30, an hour earlier than necessary. Guess I'm still on Ohio time...
-
Anyway, Richard's probably boarding his plane in Cincinnati about now. My flight to SFO is at 10:40 and I'll wave when we fly over LA. We're to meet at the rental car center and we'll be in Palo Alto tonight.
-
I believe you should have good while you are in San Fracisco.

~ ~ ~ SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DH Richard!!!!
-
Good morning, all! I slept terribly. I vaguely remember one long dream in whch I and a group seemed to be stranded in an enormous space craft and there was something lurking onboard. It's al too vague now, I also had a dream that I drove to Brooklyn to see goddaughter Charlotte in a play, and I rememebr bits and pieces of another that had a parade float, I think, although I might have been cleaning out a deceased's personal items. Too vague now.
-
Safe & Easy travel vibes to you and Richard.
-
good morning to all
-
I was going to watch a DVD last night, but I kept falling asleep, so around 9:00 I went to bed with the intentions of getting up around 6:00 and accomplish some apartment work. Well best laid plans, ya know: around 9:15 I became nauseous and spent the next three hours in and out of the bathroom.
So, I slept until 8:30 this morning and I feel like garbage. I doubt I will accomplish much at all today.
-
DR JohnG, I love TROUBLE IN TAHITI, which was supposedly about Bernstein's parents' unhappy marriage, but I am not a fan of Bernstein's full-length A QUIET PLACE and its interpolation of TROUBLE IN TAHITI into Act Two. Originally, A QUIET PLACE was written to be a second act for TROUBLE IN TAHITI. I think it's a great and bitter comic one-act opera whose caricatures do not belong inside the soap-opera realities of the later opera, which I really loathe.

Thank you, DRs Ginny and TCB. It's bad enough to be puny with things are going well, but I'm still wondering where my life is going, That's a pathetic question when you're pushing 70!
I have to go out and run a few errands before the heat settles down on the City.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Add me to the list of people who did not sleep well last night.
Finally decided to do some reading, so I got through about 30 pages of Peter Filichia's latest book, which is about the 1963-64 season on Broadway. The section I'm on had to do with dramas, most of which failed miserably. Not what you want to read to put you to sleep.
-
I loved TROUBLE IN TAHITI on first listen way back in the day. Time to become reacquainted with it. I only ever knew it from that early recording (Beverly Wolff?) and a few read-throughs of the vocal score.
Never tried A QUIET PLACE, so I believe I'll take a short cut and follow DR Elmore's heads up on that one.
-

I really enjoyed the 45-minute version, despite some weird animation in the background.
This morning I discovered I had another version, also called Trouble in Tahiti, and it runs 72 minutes long. I'll watch in a day or two.
I'm really trying to watch all of the stuff I've bought on sale in the past year or so.
-
Singdaw, I'm almost finished with disc two of seven in the "Between You and Me" set. It's very episodic, but some of the episodes are real winners.
This morning she was talking about what a perfectionist Pauline Kael was and how she would always work and rework sentences, always for the better. But there was one instance when Mary made a suggestion to Kael, and the critic seemed dumbfounded that somebody actually helped her improve her copy.
I still love re-reading old Kael reviews of favorite films, especially Altman's movies. I always imagined she was the role model for Blair in "Sunday in the Park."

West Coast contingent was up late last night!

So soon?

Five!

Travel vibes for DR GINNY and DH RICHARD.
Internet and office moving vibes for DR BEN.

I liked a good hamburger with cheese from the barbecue.....well done - not burnt.
-
I saw the latest re-vamping of A Quiet Place at New York City Opera a few years ago. They did a tremendous job with it, and made the best possible case for it, but it is still a problematic piece. And while I love most of Bernstein's scores, including his concert music, I just can't cuddle up to this astringent score. I love Trouble in Tahiti on its own.
I have the recording and the score of A Quiet Place, but haven't listened to it more than twice.
-
Two SCOTUS cases announced so far. Nothing I was waiting for, yet.
-
No decisions from SCOTUS today regarding either marriage equality or the Affordable Care Act.
-
TOD:
I guess I prefer hamburgers over hot dogs, but I do like both. The buns have to be warm and fresh. Cold buns with a hot burger ruin the whole thing and it seems to happen all too often. Ribs are okay. I think I had barbequed cat fish once and that was very nice. I do love corn on the cob, and you all already know how I feel about beans. Cole slaw is very nice too, but I don't like horseradish in it.
-
No decisions from SCOTUS today regarding either marriage equality or the Affordable Care Act.
Next day for opinions is Thursday
-
Additional Supreme Court opinions on Thursday of this week.
-
I hear an echo....
-
TOD: We'uns in Texas use the word barbecue to refer strictly to smoked meat. The rest is grilling or a cook-out.
That said, I like an old-fashioned style T-bone on the grill, thin and slathered with some Heinz 57 sauce. Brings back some great childhood memories. Brats on the grill are also great. Gotta have some salads with that, including potato and a green salad, coleslaw or macaroni, you name it. Love watermelon in that mix, too.
As for barbecue, give me beef ribs, pork ribs, brisket, sausage, just about anything but chicken. Very few people know how to smoke chicken properly, so they oversmoke it and the meat tastes like licking an ashtray.
-
tastes like licking an ashtray.
Truly scrumptious!

Thank you for all the travel vibes! I've been to the FedEx office here in the hotel to mail my AAUW stuff back to Ohio and I'm about to head over to the airport.

I don't think I've been to a barbecue in 35 years. the last i recall was 1979 in New Haven, CT, and it was all Indian food, since it was at the home of an Indian professor at Yale. It was really excellent, quite delicious.
For years, growing up, my mother's family had wonderful barbecues on Memorial Day and July 4th, at my Aunt Jean's in Hamilton, OH. There were usually five of my mother's six siblings and their families, and the food was pretty much the same, but my mother's sisters and sisters-in-law were all good cooks. There were always grilled hot dogs, bratwurst, and hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, a green salad, a jello of some sort, several pies and cakes, along with tons of cola and beer. At least one of my uncles got really tipsy and my dad, God bless him, often got roped into driving my aunt, uncle, and cousins home.
My mother was one of five girls and only she and my Aunt Jean, the most liberated woman in the family, drove. The other three never learned to drive, and as my mother got older and crazier, she really resented driving her sisters around, but it was part of her general passive-aggressive behavior.
-
DR Ginny is just traveling to the airport to meet DH Richard, who is flying in to join her.
No, DR Singdaw, I'm flying from San Diego to San Francisco while Richard flies from Cincinnati to San Francisco. We're meeting in the rental car center at SFO.

I'm all settled at my gate and will board in about 45 minutes. I think Richard is somewhere over Colorado.

TOD: What DON'T I like at BBQs?
I love BBQd:
Chicken
Burgers
Steaks
Shrimp
Peppers
Green Beans
Asparagus
Corn
Potatoes
Onions
And, of course, the "sides", like potato salad, green salad, potato chips, pickles, watermelon, cake, pie, etc.
Sigh.

Happy to say we have finally set the last piece of the Kritzerland puzzle - our guest star: the wonderful Gloria Loring - Liz Chandler from Days of Our Lives (now the third person I've worked with from that soap - Kevin Spirtas, Matt Ashford being the other two), but I knew her from her 1968 album Gloria Loring, Today on MGM records. She also was married to Alan Thicke, and with him wrote the theme songs for the TV series Diff'rent Strokes and The Facts of Life.
-
Good morning. I was invited to a nighttime photo shoot opportunity, so I was up until midnight. Then I had to be up at 4 to take my daughter to work by 5 a.m. The buses don't run that early.
-
And she had a hit song called Friends and Lovers that she sang with Carl Anderson.
-
That's great news, bk! Finally, some things are going right for this Kritzerland program!
-
Gosh, DR Laura - I hope that there is room in your schedule today for nappy time! :P
-
The overall sleep deficit on HHW right now, for one reason or another, is pretty overwhelming.

Bad for DRs. Good for upping the posting totals. :-\

She's also the mom of Robin Thicke, who remains to my mind a truly remarkable talent, even though he lost his "Blurred Lines" lawsuit.

BTW, if any of our HHW researchers can figure out which two Academy Awards shows Miss Loring appeared on and which two nominated songs she sang, that would be great. I've had no luck.
-
I did accomplish some work on the apartment. I am seeing our DR ChasSmith on Thursday and I need to make room for a piece of office furniture he is bringing me. I will accomplish the Big Work on Thursday morning before he arrives, but anything I can do now to make my life easier on Thursday is good.

I've also got everything together for tomorrow's trek to the Butler Library at Columbia, which will be my home for the next month.
Now I need a map.

Hello, everyone.
Look who can type again!
Many thanks for all the vibes. They really did help.

My little left-hand-only exercise was quite interesting. There are some things I just can't do with my left hand, such as write. I can now hold a pen in my right hand again--or a fork. My hand is still somewhat stiff, but this is sooo much better!
-
Good news from DR Jeanne. Glad to hear it! :)
-
As for what I did to cause this, I don't really know. I did some cleaning on Saturday, then my hand started hurting. At first I thought it was arthritis, but it kept getting worse. Icing and Arnica cream seemed to help. When I'm on my laptop (my only computer) the edge tends to hit my wrists. I don't think that's what did it, but I do feel it's something I need to address. I need to protect my wrists. I have an Incrediwear wrist brace that I'm wearing right now. It's very comfortable. I think I need to wear it more often. Wrists tend to be delicate and I could take a proactive approach, instead of waiting until I have a sprain.

I need to take care of a few things, then will return. My Usual Routine was turned upside-down by this little escapade.

Wow! That's pretty cool. We don't get lightning like that at all.

Page Seven?? What it the world? I've got a lot of ketchuping to do and it's not even 1:00 in the afternoon!
And every post today is a nugget of solid gold!
;D
None of you will want to miss a single one.
I never do!

It was a platitude with an attitude, I can tell you.
Who was it that said: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, I got a new platitude

Wishing a very, very happy day and celebration to DR George's parents...

Just had to share.

Where's a calculus major when you need one?
-
Happy anniversary to George's parents!

I just received in the mail the world premiere studio cast recording to the "new" Vernon Duke musical, "Misia (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U08P4OO/)," starring Marin Mazzie. Reading the liner notes, it has a very interesting history. Vernon Duke wrote the score to a French libretto, entitled Milord l'Arsouille ("Lord Rogue") about Lord Henry Seymour. It was never translated successfully into English, so Vernon Duke's widow (who had the score) allowed Barry Singer to write a whole new show about Misia Sert, "the celebrated muse of fin de siècle Paris." What's interesting is that Vernon Duke is an actual character in this new show, although the character doesn't sing. I just got it so hopefully I'll get to listen to it today.

Happy anniversary to George's parents!
That's Thanks, Fred!
-
Most people don't know that the song in Merrily We Roll Along entitled "That Frank" was originally titled "That Fred." :)
-
But why pause here?
-
NINE!!!!
-
Find out what singdaw drinks and send a case to the other DRs.
-
In what I can only call a monumental brain fart
New haineshisway.com shorthand: MBF
Should come in quite handy.
-
DR John G., the misuse of the word "barbecue" is unfortunately rampant. I can only say, somewhat proudly, that I'm not one of the offenders.
A modest achievement -- I am probably an offender in many other ways, but not in that one.

I worked with Barry Singer around 2004 on Tan Manhattan for the Chicago Humanities Festival. He is not on my list of 1,000.000 favorite people. I have a very low opinion of him.

BTW, if any of our HHW researchers can figure out which two Academy Awards shows Miss Loring appeared on and which two nominated songs she sang, that would be great. I've had no luck.
Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon
Someone's Waiting for You from the Rescuers
Those two were in 1978
Someone's Waiting for You is one of the best songs on Barbara Cook's Disney album. Gorgeous ballad. Love the lyric, "Always keep a little prayer in your pocket and you're sure to see the light. Soon, there'll be joy and happiness and your little world will be bright."

There are so many other ways in which I offend as well, I'm sure.
-
Brats on the grill are also great.
So John, you really don't like children, do you??
;)
You guessed it. ;)
-
Find out what singdaw drinks and send a case to the other DRs.
Strictly Vernor's. Thanks, kiddo! :)

We're on a roll.
Oh yes, a roll.
With sesame seeds.
-
We're on a roll.
Oh yes, a roll.
With sesame seeds.
I prefer a roll with fries and slaw.
-
Go for it, man!!!
-
We're on a roll.
Oh yes, a roll.
With sesame seeds.
And I, a lobster roll.

I was forced by Mr. Sondheim to use Barry Singer to write the notes for Unsung Sondheim. I found him pedantic and uppity, not necessarily in that order, and I didn't really care for his notes.
-
Back from a chicken salad sandwich and a few onion rings - ran into my pal Allan Hunt (he was in the TV series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and I've known him since 1971) who was with Star Trek's Walter Koenig, who I'd never met but who seems like a nice chap.
-
I picked up no packages.
-
Then I came home and finished the commentary - great to have it out of the way, and I think it's pretty fun.
-
Let's all sing Bitch I'm Madonna.
-
Page nine? Really?
-
This is like the old days here at haineshisway.com
-
Had I stayed married, this year would have been our 47th anniversary. Can you imagine?
-
Congrats on completing the show planning! I thought this one was going to be the death of us... :)
-
What that really means is that astonishingly I have been happily deevorced for thirty-three years!
-
I had not been on my bike in 6 days (because of a cold). i needed to pick up some books at the library which is 1.5km away. I figured I would go pretty slow (between 10-15/km per hour). I decided to go around the lake and even though i was going so slow I was so tired afterwards (i ended up going 7kms which i guess i shouldn't have done). I guess i am still lacking energy.

Big Brother starts on Wednesday.
-
I even got an e-mail sent last night confirming the appointment. Of course, since I have no Internet I couldn't see it...
You have no Internet? We'll send you an email to tell you what to do.
Good ole Verizon. I don't think they think things through.
-
Good evening!

Page 9!?

Whenever I call Comcast to report that I have no Internet connection, their ads while I'm on hold always include messages that "you can go online to find out any outages in your area." ???
-
I remember Gloria Loring and Alan Thicke from a Canadian TV show called "The Party Game." It was charades, but not with titles, it was with long phrases (some Shakespeare, I think , but other made=up phrases. Martin Short and Billy Van were also on it. I'd say this was in about 1976 or so.

Hello, everyone.
Look who can type again!
Many thanks for all the vibes. They really did help.
Great news, DR Jeanne!
-
So, instead, I put on a hairnet and served myself a cup of joe!
:)
-
It's hard telling what I heard, it could have been a bat trying to get in outside or in the wall, it could have been something else outside, it could have been one of the cats doing something, I don't know. It could have been the news paper hitting the house. Who knows...it could have been almost anything
You were spooked. I was too after my bat encounter. They may be small creatures, but they are FRIGHTENING.
-
~ ~ ~ SLEEP AND REST VIBES ~ ~ ~ for the many DRs having difficulty in this area!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY!!

Singdaw's vacation chalet. Very nice, too.
-
The overall sleep deficit on HHW right now, for one reason or another, is pretty overwhelming.
Yes, it is. I blame the Heavens.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave and usher. I also need to get something to eat because I didn't take time to go to lunch and I'm hungry.
I hate it when that happens. :P
-
Until later!

It was a platitude with an attitude, I can tell you.

Vibes to all.

...and here we are in Palo Alto, CA! My plane landed early at SFO and I made my way to the rental car center where I found Richard enjoying a cup of Earl Grey. He'd only been waiting about half an hour. We picked up our silver Subaru Outback and found our Palo Alto hotel with no problem. Went downtown for late lunch/early dinner and made an appointment for a 1-hour tour of Stanford University tomorrow at 11. From there we'll stop in Cupertino to visit the Apple mothership on our way to Monterey, which will be home until Friday.
-
Good news from DR JEANNE.
Congrats to the parents of DR GEORGE!
-
I am trying to imagine MR BK celebrating a 47th wedding anniversary.
He is surrounded by SEE-LEBRITIES!
-
I am watching TO MUCH, TOO SOON......the story of Miss Diana Barrymore....or I guess I should say...the purported story of....
I liked the book......the movie is....well it's more truthful than HARLOW or FRANCES....which is on later tonight on TCM.....but it's kind of a mess.
Dorothy Malone said once that she used to see people at restaurants and industry functions after the movie was released and she thought they were looking at her and wondering why they voted her an Oscar for WRITTEN ON THE WIND......
-
Office Depot has screwed me over on a delivery today, snd my anger at the situation is quite vivid at the moment. They tell me it's out for delivery, yet UPS claims they haven't picked the damed shipment up!
Heads will roll.
-
Wow, page 10!!!!!
-
And now back to work.
Things are very hectic. We move in less than a month and there is much work to be done before then.
DR Ben, I'll be visiting your San Francisco outpost on Monday, completing my circuit of all 5 major sites. But, once your location is moved, I'll have to visit there, too!
Hope it all goes smoothly.
-
It rained again, very heavy at the house.
So the mold count is extraordinarily high and breathing is not exactly fun at the moment.
-
Watching an oddity called "The Pink Angels" about some burly bikers who are really drag queens. Dan Haggerty in an early performance. Really bad stereotypes, jokes, et al. Don't know if I can last all 80 minutes of it.
-
Wow, that sounds pretty bad, DR John G.
-
What great activities you have planned DR Ginny! Do you do a lot of homework ahead of time, or do you just go with the flow once you get there?
-
Got distracted by an impromptu cocktail party out on the neighbor's deck. A delightful, cool summer evening.
-
And now my eyelids are feeling very heavy.
-
He ain't heavy; he's my brother.
-
Either my brother, or my bother.
-
OK. Let's get a move on, here.
-
Elevenses.
-
And gratuitous post #301. 8)
-
We'll stay all night, and we'll sing 'em all!
-
Fun reading about the reunion of the original Broadway cast of Into the Woods.
-
What's rain?
-
Page eleven? Really?
-
Pretty damn good!
-
What great activities you have planned DR Ginny! Do you do a lot of homework ahead of time, or do you just go with the flow once you get there?
DR Singdaw, yes, i do a lot of homework and we work with a basic outline. We always know ahead of time where we'll stay each night and I have ideas for things to do and see. But, we allow ourselves quite a bit of flexibility, too. For example, I know in Monterey we want to visit the aquarium, the Carmel mission, and the 17-Mile Drive, but we don't know exactly which day for what, nor the order of things.
-
Apparently film composer James Horner has died in a plane crash (his plane). It hasn't really been confirmed - just that whoever was piloting it had not survived the crash - and since no one has heard from him since it happened this morning, everyone, including his assistant has said it has to be true.
-
Oh, and I also need to spend some time in a laundromat before we go into San Francisco 8)
-
Got distracted by an impromptu cocktail party out on the neighbor's deck. A delightful, cool summer evening.
Sounds like fun.
-
Story written. Lousy movie over.
The ending was rather strange. The drag queen bikers were all hung at the end on the front lawn of the befuddled fascist soldier. Rather nasty.
-
My breathing is not improving. I hope I get some sleep tonight
-
Hello, everyone.
Look who can type again!
Many thanks for all the vibes. They really did help.
Great news! :) :) :)
-
Health vibes for John, Jennifer, and Dan, and anyone else who needs them
-
Well, rats, the Apple Company Store closed for renovations a week ago today. Oh, well, gives us more time to spend at Stanford and on our scenic drive to Monterey.
-
Someone texted me and I responded. Then they responded "who is this?" I responded "You wrote ME a text?" Then they sent me a screen shot showing only MY text. She said it was coming from my e-mail address. Say what? So, I went to Google and searched and found the answer - I have to say the default settings for the iPhone 6 are completely stupid. It was defaulting to my e-mail address that I used for the cloud. I read up on the fix (had to go to two different sites) and the second time I was able to fix it, did a test, and now it's showing as from my phone.
-
Prayers for James Horner.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
The Hollywood Reporter and Wikipedia say that Mr. Horner ia dead, so it must be true.
-
I'm sure it is, but if you look at those stories, it's all coming from one place - his assistant. What I find odd is that no one has actually made an official statement about it.
-
I'm finally uploading videos to You Tube from the last Kritzerland concert but it's VERY slow going.
-
Congrats to the parents of DR GEORGE!
Thanks, Jrand!
-
My breathing is not improving. I hope I get some sleep tonight
~~~Breathing Vibes for John!!~~~
-
I've been watching the original Broadway production of "Pacific Overtures."
-
I love this score.
-
Well...
-
...why...
-
...stop now?
PAGE 12!!
