Well, you've read the notes, the notes had something completely new, namely the hermaphrodite and the Queen of Sheba, and now it is time for you to post until the hermaphrodite queen cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CLEPE!
-
The Queen of Sheba was a hermaphrodite?
The things you learn on HHW!

Super Kritzerland videos, bk - thanks for sharing!
-
Super Kritzerland videos, bk - thanks for sharing!
Both are terrific!
-
BK - So glad you're bringing some attention to "Hello and Goodbye" from From Noon Til Three, an under-sung song from a movie that I think deserved at least a bit more attention in its day
I wonder if it got "lost" because maybe it wasn't what Charles Bronson fans wanted to see from him.
The gorgeous Elmer Bernstein - Bergmans song is really an integral part of the story, too.
-
Where is ryacko these days? Will he ever pop in again?
-
Or have I missed his posting when he's been here?
-
Good morning, all! This is a day at Columbia, playing in the Jerome Moross Collection. I expect to be there for a couple of hours, looking at things. Since Office Depot screwed up my order yesterday, I need to be home this afternoon for delivery.
-
Good Morning, Boys and Girls!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Oy. Looks like a day to batten down the hatches.
I hope none of our Midwestern DRs suffered any storm damage.
-
We did not. Our trash cans did not even tip over.
Vibes for DR JOHN G.
-
I would like to attend an impromptu cocktail party....or any cocktail party for that matter.....but I don't live in Wisconsin, which is apparently a hotbed of said celebrations.
-
Lovely videos in the notes! A great way to start the day.
-
I decided after a fashion show last night, that I don't like ANY of Christine's dresses. So I am going to the Goodwill today to see what they have in her size....I need three....I would be happy to find two on my first trip.

Love the rendition of "Hello and Goodbye"
FROM NOON TO THREE is a very special movie; not your typical Western. If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor and rent (or buy) it.
-
Time to head up north to 116th Street. Later!
-
Or have I missed his posting when he's been here?
Haven't seen DR ryacko around these parts in quite some time.
-
No storm damage here. Thanks for the thoughts, DR ChasSmith!

Sad news about the death of composer James Horner.
Interestingly, the last film I wrote (actually co-wrote) for Roger Corman was RAPTOR (2001), and the credited composer on that movie is James Horner.
Since the movie was made several years after he won the Oscar for TITANIC, I can only assume that Corman either "bought the score," or he reused one that Horner had composed for an earlier Corman movie.
Either way, It was great having Horner's name on that dinosaur picture. Gave it a touch of class...if that was, at all, possible.
::)
-
I just learned that Horner's music for RAPTOR was previously used in Corman's HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP and BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS.
Still, the credits read "Music by James Horner".
:)

Thanks for the vibes. Air still bad here. I may need to go back to Maui to breathe.
I think you are just searching for an excuse to return to Maui ;)
-
Rest in peace, Dick Van Patten!
-
:(
-
In the case of Maui, I don't think any excuses are required. :)
-
Do you have a tentative timeframe for the renovations to be completed, DR Jane?
-
Whither the posting frenzy of yesterday?
Today, there is a dearth.
A dearth, I'm telling you.

Home from Columbia, I found some interesting things in the early libretto drafts for Gentlemen, Be Seated!: a ballad for the Northern Girl in the armty hospital, "Billy," a number for Miss Florida Cotton and the Girls in New Orleans who've been forced into prostitution as the Confederacy economy falls and eligible men are killed off, "What's A Girl To Do?," and an Act Two number sung by A Wife, "Who'll Save the World?"
Unfortunately, I can find no music for any of them. The lyrics are very good.

The Billy number sounds great -- and highly topical.

Topic of the Day:
Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid
Cat On a Hot Tin Roof
I think these are the only Paul Newman movies that I've seen. And I haven't seen any Richard Boone movies. :-\

I'm up, I'm up - guess I finally got the sleep I needed - I fell asleep around three and just woke up, so about nine and a half hours of sleep with very interesting dreams.

So, not only did Office Depot screw up delivery of my order yesterday - I have an email acknowledging they missed the UPS pickup - but the shipment today is badly damaged. I have a small folding table with only three corners since the fourth is sawdust. WTF?
-
Yesterday at ten - page six. Today at one-thirty - page two.
-
Why I oughta….
-
No one seems to be posting that Dick Van Patten has died.
-
Page three? Really?
-
What was in the water yesterday?
-
Yes DR RLP - a fashionable summer to be sure.
-
I shall soon be on my way to a rehearsal.....and then I will come home.
In between those two events - someone will try on some clothes.
-
No one seems to be posting that Dick Van Patten has died.
I loved "Eight is Enough." I don't think I knew about Betty Buckley's singing ability until she was in "Cats," and then I discovered the original Broadway cast recording of "1776."
-
Looking through IMDb for Paul Newman movies, I randomly went from actor to actor and came across Tonly Longo's listing (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0519440/reference), which showed that he just died on Sunday.
-
Guess maybe I should go eat something.
-
Here's an interesting factoid: The Gelson's caramel ice cream topping has 110 calories per ounce. But the chocolate fudge topping only has seventy calories per ounce. Who knew?
-
Caramel? Chocolate?
Let's call the whole thing off!
-
Yes DR RLP - a fashionable summer to be sure.
It's not fashionable if you don't have culottes.
-
I shall soon be on my way to a rehearsal.....and then I will come home.

Well, I, for one, would hope you'd share on these pages a snapshot of yourself in the Laura Ashley.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I went out to purchase some foodstuffs as my cupboard was pretty bare, but driving has aggravated the problem with my right hand. It's back to icing and Arnica, I guess. I have an appointment tomorrow with the doctor, and hope that he'll have some insight into what caused the problem and what we can do about it. In the meantime, I need to let it rest.

Is anyone amused by this?

We is posted out!

Thanks for the vibes. Air still bad here. I may need to go back to Maui to breathe.
John G, do you have any sort of air filtration? The units can be very helpful.
-
Hi, Ron! Good to see you here again.
Things are things. (You wanted a profound statement, didn't you?)

don't mean to be unsociable, but I must ice my hand and let it rest.

Hi, Ron! Good to see you here again.

Facebook appears to be, to paraphrase Sondheim: memes, memes, and nothing but memes.

Back from a Cobb salad and no BREAD! I'm now trying to cut back a bit on bread, although it's VERY difficult.

In a word: yes.
:)
-
Congratulations, DR Jeanne, on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament.
And with a bum wrist, no less!
-
I can't write or see the word "firmament" without saying it silently in my head the way Jean Hagen does in Singing in the Rain. :)

Good evening!

Congrats to Jeanne on your milestone!!!

Thanks for the vibes. Air still bad here. I may need to go back to Maui to breathe.
John G, do you have any sort of air filtration? The units can be very helpful.
I have had the dehumidifier going non-stop for four days now. I have emptied it once each day -- and it's a big ol' thing.

Congratulations!

The latest drive-in trash movie is something called Blood Mania, which makes it sound like it should be a horror flick. Soft-core porn is more like it.

Just relaxing.

MISS FISHER S3 releases Sept 8 from Acorn.
Yay!

Starting to watch the musical version of From Here to Eternity. Won't make it through even act I tonight, but I can see why it bombed. It's not horrible, but the British actors trying to do American accents uniformly sound horrible, so that adds to the lack of magic. I like some of the music, not many of Tim Rice's lyrics and less of the book.

Do you have the CD? It's really weird. It's a 2-CD set, but all the music between the 2 CDs adds up to just over an hour...over 2 CDs! What's with that??

I didn't know there was a musical version of FROM HERE TO ETERNITY.

TY, George. And a most appropriate post that was, too.
-
Just watched one of bk's favorite singers (NOT) in MAJOR CRIMES. She played a most stupid and disagreeable character. Humm...
-
As George would say, just had to share.
-
Good night.
-
Do you have a tentative timeframe for the renovations to be completed, DR Jane?
The major ones should be done by the 28th so we can clean on the 29th and move in on the 30th.
-
We pulled our fake gas fireplace and almost had a new one installed today. The people delivering it could do the job as the hole for the vent didn't match up to the new fireplace. After a couple of hours trying to make it work, and insisting there wasn't an attachment to get the two parts to fit, the guys left. Our contractor summed it up perfectly when he said "stupid".
The owner of the company came out and said he would fix the problem and install it personally on Thursday. What a relief!
-
If the contractor had to do major work to make the fireplace fit he would not have been able to finish some of the work inside.
-
The floor look great. We can't wait until they can be cleaned.
-
The plummer connected the water to the frig and put the faucet, soap dispenser, and the hot/cold water faucet back in the kitchen sink along with the garbage disposal and sink drains.
:):) :)

Hand vibes for DR Jeanne!

Delivery vibes for DR elmore!

Tuesday evening greetings from gorgeous Monterey, CA! We had a nice tour of Stanford this morning with a big group of prospective students and their parents. We had lunch in downtown Palo Alto and headed to Monterey. Arrived here just in time for the wine & cheese reception in the hotel lobby. We took a walk along Cannery Row and stopped for a nice pizza dinner overlooking the bay.
-
Was trying to watch a movie, but I'm not in the mood, so I did a jog instead.
-
This was the second crazy day in a row. DR George, once again, I forgot to check if we recorded THE LAST SHIP.
-
Tonight we saw SPY and were thoroughly entertained. We did a good amount of laughing. I'm sure we will watch it again when it come out on DVD.
-
DR Dan put a message up on his Go Fund Me page. I hope this means he will be able to stop in soon. He has had a rough time. His surgery ended up lasting 7 hours and his "overnight" stay turned into 6 days. He is home now taking too many painkillers.

MAJOR HEALING & RECOVERY VIBES FOR DR DAN!!!
-
Good evening. I woke up this morning at 8:35....I had a phone hearing scheduled at 9:00!!!! I flew out of bed....cats flew into the air off the bed....I made it. Good think I only live about 10 minutes from the office
-
Nice DR Ginny. Monterey is beautiful.
-
The morning stayed pretty crazy. I went home at noon, finally fed the cats and gave Cal her meds and started over
-
DR Sing, did you see the northern lights last night? You may be able to see them tonight too, but maybe not in the city
-
I went out but didn't see them. Was thinking about going again, but they aren't supposed to be as good as last night so...

It's official, James Horner died
-
And BK, someone did mention Dick Van Patten before you did, I didn't go back to figure it out. My cats used to eat his cat food.
-
I used to watch him on TV all the time. Just thought I'd add the cat food thing
-
Hope DR Dan will stop in ....VIBES OF RECOVERY GOING HIS WAY~~~~~~~~~~
-
I used to watch him on TV all the time. Just thought I'd add the cat food thing
Our dogs had his dog treat roll.
-
Vixter & I went to see from here to eternity. The musical at the movies at one of those one night only fathom events.
-
First time I ever walked out of a miviye
-
And vibes tipi all but especially to Dan
-
Godnight
-
Night Vixmom
-
Good evening.
-
DR Jeanne, yes I was spooked by the bat and it's been creepy, but it's getting better. Last night about 3:00 AM Boo let out a howl. My first instinct was that she was pulling my leg and wanted me to get up and play. I did get up to be sure she wasn't in pain...or had a bat. She wasn't. I didn't play just went back to bed
-
Good evening and welcome to page 6
-
How bizarre, my local channels just went dark on Directv but I can get other channels. That's strange
-
DR Jane, thanks for the update on DR Dan M.
DR Dan M, hope you're now on the road to revovery! Remember, HHW is a great place to convalesce.
-
It was like that for 15 minutes. I called Directv and the moment I got a real human on the line they came back on. I told her she was magic
-
All the fresh air we got today, combined with all the walking we did, has made me very sleepy.
'night!
-
'night
-
And the word of the day is: CLEPE!
CANTINFLAS
As
CLEPE
-
Looks like they can't totally confirm that it was James Horner until the coroner can identify the remains. Must have burned or something. One of the articles says that the people who fueled the plane said he took off in it. That's pretty good circumstantial evidence that he was the one in it when it crashed
-
I should head upstairs too. I wanted to go look for the Northern Lights again but it sounds like I'm too far south tonight. I've seen them before, but they are so cool. Tomorrow night we should be able to see them, but we're supposed to have thunderstorms, so the sky may be too cloudy to see them
-
