Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a rainbow and were connected, and now it is time for you to post until the connected cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CARK!
-
Yesterday, Jane asked:
DR George, we were finally able to check and we do have the 2 hour season premier of "Lost Ship". Have you watched it yet?
No, I haven't yet. Hopefully, today. I have NO plans until later this evening when I'll go to the last performance of TAO's "Tartuffe" to pick up the till and pay a couple of reimbursements. I won't see the show again (it was good, but not need-to-see-it-four-times good). I'm just going to show up fairly close to when the show ends.
-
Moving day will be a long hot day. I expect we won't watch it until next month.
-
The big truck could not go up our Ashland driveway so we had to shuttle our belongings in a smaller truck. This time the circle drivethrough and parking area in front of our building will not hold a big truck and we have to shuttle again. I expect the heat will slow up the movers. I hope they finish in one day.
-
Having to shuttle is extremely expensive.

Good morning, all.
One crazy and very annoying dream after another. Good riddance to every last one of them.
-
Weather-wise, it shall be a forced indoor day here, and I'm up for that.
-
Good morning, all! I am back on the laptop; the Big Computer keeps crashing. I may have to bite the bullet and purchase a new iMac very soon. Perhaps there will be a July 4 sale?
-
It's supposed to be a rainy day, so I need a trip to Staples. Office Depot and its pathetically slow customer service dept., which took three days to respond to the mess, have completely screwed up the return of this damaged table. They also say they will refund $54.00; the damned order with the shipping came to $65!
I HATE OFFICE DEPOT!
-
Good morning!
-
DR elmore-- I'm so sorry about your friend's son.
-
We're expecting up to 4 or more inches of rain in some areas.

Julien's Auctions has many Barbra Streisand items up for bid today:

shuttle vibes for DR JANE.
Convention vibes for DR GINNY & Co.
Attending the musical vibes for MR BK.
-
Interesting dream you had the other night, DR elmore!
-
Saturday. Tonight I will be selling tickets and refreshments at the Youth Theatre Workshop production of The Merry Wives of Windsor.....one from the middle school group....and one from the high school group.
Of course all I will be thinking during the show is: "One of those little $#@%ers stole my gun!"
-
I went down the street to my sister in law's yard sale and found a very nice secretary-hutch that will be pretty on the BAD SEED set....

DR elmore and BK's friend Jason Graae is playing Roger Debris in The Producers in Olney, Maryland for about a month. I'd love to see the show. Just hate driving there.
-
Sorry for my absence yesterday around these parts. Frightfully busy at work all day. I had a customer to deal with, so missed the big Supreme Court announcement as it happened. But I caught up soon after, and my heart was full.
Went straight to a dinner party after work, and had a delightful time and stayed up until midnight - WAY past my normal bedtime.
I then slept for 9 straight hours - just about unheard of, for me - and here I am.
Now, to catch up at HHW.

DR Jane - have you considered joining Angie's List? It's a minimal yearly cost, and you get access to provider reviews (including doctors). We have used it successfully after our last two moves to unfamiliar territories.
-
~ ~ ~ TOE VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DH Keith!!!!
Thanks. So far it is better today, but then he hadn't done much walking yet.
-
Of course, it is infinitely preferable to get personal referrals from someone that you trust.
-
Well, since we're so close...
;D
-
TWO!
-
Still catching up from yesterday's posts...
-
I didn't know Angie's List provided doctor's. I usually just ask people who they like.

TOD: I pretty much hate time-travel movies. In my career, I've turned down several opportunities to write time-travel films and TV shows. I just find the logic and the set of rules to time-travel can be a minefield to navigate through if you're a writer. I like Nick Meyer's Jack the Ripper/H.G. Wells time travel movie, TIME AFTER TIME and can tolerate a few others but it's hardly a genre I seek out.
-
I am home from Staples with a necessary purchase and helpful news about my empty HP ink cartridges, of which I possess thousands.
I must admit that while thius card-carrying liberal is delighted that the past several days have been unhappy ones for a lot of the far right conservatives and general asses in the party like Justice Scalia, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry and that idiot pastor who says he really didn't mean to burn himself alive, I do worry about the backlash from their cronies and moronic supporters.
End of soapbox.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD:
One of my favorite writers, J.B. Priestley, was a believer in the fluidity of time and wrote about it in various works, both fiction and nonfiction. One of my favorites was the play Time and the Conways, which wasn't really about time travel, but about how the present influences the future.
Man and Time is my favorite of his non-fictional looks at the subject.
-
My neighbor who took my other two 4-drawer filing cabinets that I abandoned last September took the one I tossed out on Thursday. I just delivered the keys.
-
Time Travel:
Books
H.G. Wells The Time Machine
Jack Finney Time and Again
Pete Hamill Forever
Film
The Time Machine
Time After Time
I never liked Somewhere In Time, which seemed to me a ripoff of the wonderful Jack Finney novel (why has that never been filmed?)
-
Saturday--it's a good thing.

Frequency
Paycheck
Okay, "Frequency" and "Paycheck" aren't really about time travel, but they're about knowing what's going to happen in the future, so I think they still count.

I'm up, I'm up, barely - got about seven hours of sleep but probably would have slept till noon were it not for the meeting this morning.
-
Does "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" count as time travel?
-
If you haven't seen ABOUT TIME....from 2014 or so, it is a time travel movie with s romantic theme.....and so I will add one that I almost forgot.
Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour

Thanks DR SINGDAW but I am counting the starting pistol as a lost cause....gone, gone forever, down the river of no return.....

MR BK I repeated your "same sex" comment from the notes on my Facebook page and it is getting many laughs, likes, and shares. You should be a comedy writer.

Back from breakfast meeting with the gentleman who'll be doing publicity for the Sami show.

Today, a friend and I are going to see the new Disney/Pixar movie, "Inside Out." We're planning on going to Chipotle for lunch before. I've only been there once, but I did like it.
-
DR Jane - have you considered joining Angie's List? It's a minimal yearly cost, and you get access to provider reviews (including doctors). We have used it successfully after our last two moves to unfamiliar territories.
If I remember correctly (and there are no guarantees of that), I don't think that (former?) DR Danice had a great experience with Angie's List. :-\
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I tend to mix up the various time travel movies, but one I discovered a few years ago and enjoyed was FROM TIME TO TIME. Written by Julian Fellowes. Starring Timothy Spall and Maggie Smith, among others. It's a nice film.

We actually had a few drops of rain today. And I do mean a few. But they were nice to listen to.
-
I heard a lovely CD yesterday while at acupuncture--piano, violins, bass, birds, and ocean. I'm not a bird-lover, but I sure liked this CD. I asked my doctor about it. It was a gift from one of her patients and she put it on her ipod and didn't know the title. It's a Dan Gibson Solitudes CD, but there are lots of them. I'm thinking it might be the Natural Stress Relief one. Does anyone here listen to Dan Gibson? All his CDs had very positive reviews.

Continued healing vibes to Dan M. Do let us know how you're doing, even if it's just a few words.

And now, I must take a shower, get dressed, go to Chipotle, then to the movies!
Be back later.
-
While we did lose the sun for a while, we certainly didn't get any raindrops here in the City of Studio.
-
Turned on a movie and promptly dozed off.
-
On George's list, The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones sounds particularly intriguing and high-concept.

50% funded! Miracles, we need a few major miracles and we can go all the way!

I've been watching the 2003 BBC version of Philippa Gregory's The Other Boleyn Girl, which constantly irritates me with Ms Gregory's distortions of the Boleyn family history.
The only thing honest is its ugly portrayal of victims Mary and Anne Boleyn pimped out to Henry VIII by their odious brother, father and uncle for their own advancement at court. Gregory's portrayal of Mary as a virtuous wife when she became Henry's mistress sure doesn't agree with the general facts of the story. There have been a few good moments and a few things that seem historically accurate, but I doubt I will be looking up the Hollywood version with Natalie Portman.
The cast is good, Richard Harris' son Jared makes a good Henry VIII.

TCB, if Independence Day became a Saturday permanently, wouldn't workers somehow lose a vacation day at some point? (I'm not sure, I just suspect it would work out that way.)
-
Or maybe not.

Good evening.

Sheldon Harnick offers lyric variant for "Sunrise, Sunset" so that it can be performed at same-sex weddings:

That is possible, unless you still made it a 3-day weekend. When Christmas falls on Saturday or Sunday, it is still celbrated on that Saturday or Sunday, but you still receive either Friday off for the Saturday holiday, Monday off for the Sunday holiday.
I don't know. I was just trying to open up the converation. Thanks for reading my post, Fred.

DR JEANNE it could be one of many.....it's too bad Amazon doesn't have sound samples. It might be songbirds by the stream....but that wouldn't sound like an ocean....it's a mystery.
-
The Workshop was fine.....I couldn't hear the younger kids....but that was okay. The older kids were pretty funny!

We are having a haboob.

MR BK I repeated your "same sex" comment from the notes on my Facebook page and it is getting many laughs, likes, and shares. You should be a comedy writer.
I laughed out loud.

Re time travel: My daughter has a list of people she is going to kick in the butt when time travel is invented.
Now I am curious.

We are having a haboob.
Is it over yet?

Keith is about to get off the computer and I need to search for a replacement for my special heating pad that died this morning. I was hoping it would last until after the move.
-
Page three? Really?

The wall of dust is over, but it is still windy. The weather radar shows something big coming this way.

The wall of dust is over, but it is still windy. The weather radar shows something big coming this way.
Stay out of it!
-
I ordered my heating pad which I know I will need the night we move but I don't dare have it delivered during the craziness that is moving day. It will arrive on the day after.
-
It seems there is still life left in my heating pad :)
-
Oh, dear Lord - page THREE?
-
And now, I must take a shower, get dressed, go to Chipotle, then to the movies!
Be back later.
I'm back. The movie, "Inside Out" was very good. :D

Chipotle...not so much. ::)

:P

I mean, it was okay, but not great.

I guess Chipotle's version of Mexican-ish food wasn't what I was expecting, but that's on me.
-
I don't know how authentic it is.
-
If it is authentic Mexican, maybe I just don't like authentic Mexican food.
-
Oh, well. I'll always have Taco Del Mar.
;)

PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday evening greetings! It's been a full conference day for me and I'm about to crash. Tomorrow we're going to get an early start in order to get across Market Street before they close it for the pride parade. You have to plan your conference schedule to be on one side or the other all day, because vehicle crossing will be prohibited from 9:30am until about 3pm. Our hotel and the conference center are on opposite sides, of course. We're hoping to be on a shuttle by 7 and have breakfast on the other side.

Chipotle is about as authentic to Mexican food as California Pizza Kitchen is to real pizza. Not at all.
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Well, I must be going.
-
I'm off to the end of the final performance of "Tartuffe" to give a couple of people some reimbursement checks.
-
After that, I don't know.
-
I might go to the cast party...
-
...or I might not.
-
We'll see.

Be back later!

And this makes eight, count 'em, EIGHT posts, just because.

Off to the final performance of Tartuffe? When does it start, midnight?

Well, dear!

No, George.

No, Cilla.

No, Vixmom.

No, DanM.
Well, he is excused.

I took a three hour nap this afternoon.

I couldn't believe it!

That is what happens when I run my errands in the morning.

I figured I might sleep for an hour.

I gotta tell you.

I don't think I have slept that long since I was at work!

Eat my grits.

Nice to see you, too.

Oh, I think Jane and the Magic Nook have arrived.

I guess I need to wait for them to ketchup.

I hope Cilla is feeling okay.

I know she has been feeling kind of batty.

Oh, I think Jane and the Magic Nook have arrived.
Not so magical. It hurts my hand to use it when I am lying down.

I'm back!
-
Off to the final performance of Tartuffe? When does it start, midnight?
It started at 8:00 pm, but I was only planning on getting there when it ended.
-
I needed to write a couple of reimbursement checks, collect the till and the other donated money, get the concessions bin, and bring it all to my place.
-
Tomorrow is strike. It should be fairly easy, but I haven't heard what time it'll be.
-
Tomorrow is also when the family is celebrating my mom's 73rd birthday (her actual birthday day was June 16th)!
-
We're going to meet at Main Chinese Buffet (http://www.mainchinesebuffet.net/).
-
My mom loves this place, and it's for her birthday, so we're all going there.
-
It's not too bad. They have enough of a variety the satisfies everyone in our family.

And since we're so close...
