Well, you've read the notes, the notes raced to the finish line, and now it is time for you to post until the racing cows come home - they're currently donating MOOney to the Kritzerland a GoGo Indiegogo campaign.

Good morning, all!  I dreamed about working on a production with Alice Ghostley last night.  I also had a dream about working on a production of The Golden Apple and a bad cell phone connection outside City Center.

I am back to Columbia this morning, and on my way home I will stop at Staples and Fed Ex.

Yeah, I don't get this at all.  Can't even imagine someone doing that.  That's as much a top level decision as anything, isn't it?

Not to mention, that "wood" floor was beautiful.

I must think of a new life

When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin

Linda helped fight off the Indians when they laid the cornerstone of the theatre.....she is 70 and has been here longer than anyone else....I came in 1979.

Very passive aggressive.  She makes all kinds of lists and tells people all of the things they are doing wrong and is certain she is the only one who does any work.  You just get used to some things over the decades.

It does no good to say anything or try to talk with her, so I just move on.  But all of the feelings expressed here on HHW about the situation, I have expressed myself to her.....water off a duck's back.

So, we move on.  Not one person can understand her thinking in re-painting the floor....and it is TOO time consuming to do over....

But if you know me - and you do - you know that haf my vays to recompense those who cwoss me.....it vill be vonderful.

Force her to write "theatre is a collaboration" on the blackboard a thousand times.

I remember when DR Elmore and I were doing theatre together someone on the set crew had painted the stage floor and then complained about the actors coming in and scuffing it up.  I wanted to point out that, without the actors, there would have been no need for the floor in the first place.

Hello, everyone.

Post by: Jeanne on June 29, 2015, 12:03:59 PM
We were told a few days ago that the plumber will be here today and the water will be turned off from 10 to 2. Since I usually do laundry on Monday mornings (little competition for our one washer and one dryer), I had to revise Monday and half of Tuesday. I did so, was up early--woke up at 6:15 probably because I knew I couldn't oversleep--and was ready at 10 am for the water turn-off. I went downstairs to take out the trash, and found a note on my door saying that the plumber will be here tomorrow instead. Ugh. At least I can get my laundry done.

Post by: Jeanne on June 29, 2015, 12:06:58 PM
In the past, neither the plumber nor manager has bothered to inform us of water shut-offs. One day I was in the midst of washing my hair when there was suddenly no water. At least we were informed this time.

I kind of envy her thick skin. Must make live easier. But I'm a bit surprised she's made it to 70 without someone throttling her. Of course, some may have tried. "Ugh, ugh, her skin's too thick! She's a rhinoceros!"

The BRAT diet is really more for the runs.  Bananas and apple sauce have pectin.  I had that issue and went on it.  When I went off it I had the attack. I think she told me to go back on it because I felt good when I was on it and the idea was I would feel better until the tests could be run.  I'm having the ultra sound tomorrow.  And I haven't strictly kept to the BRAT diet, but pretty close...and I feel 100 percent better.

Hmmmm just read that stomach pain and gastrointestinal problems can be a side effect of the rabies shot.  I'm tired of medical people telling me it can't have anything to do with it when the info from the drug company says it can. I'm hoping that's all it was. I think it's still worth going in for an ultrasound just to be sure

No the straw poll has been cancelled.  It was a joke.  Politicians basically brought in bus loads of people threw big parties lots of food and booze and then people cast their straw vote.  Never went to it, but have heard from people who did that in general you voted for the one who brought you or the one who had the best party.  It didn't mean anything and it's a good thing it's gone.

The Caucuses are supposedly still the first in the nation, unless something changes between now and February.  They have always been in January so I'm a bit suspicious of the February date.  They are taken very seriously by the people who attend them. You have to declare your party and go to that party's caucus.  We know that we weed out some of the candidates and that's an important function not to be taken lightly and it isn't.  We are SO bombarded with ads, telephone calls, you name it that we are so happy when they leave.

But, in years like this, when I am truly undecided, I try to see as many as possible in person.  Also, it's a privilege to be able to meet the candidates in person.  Like them or hate them, one of them will end up being President.  So, to avoid political arguments, I won't be expressing my opinion of the candidates, but I will be going to see them

These cherries were very easy to pit.  They were small and ripe. They are tart cherries but the one I tasted wasn't that tart. They're about the size of a maraschino cherry.   My mom's cherry tree had bigger sweeter cherries

Well, ALA 2015 is history, at least for me.  My last day started with a nice breakfast meeting at the SF outpost of DR Ben's employer.  I then finished the exhibits and listened to a Google guru talk about information-seeking.  Met up with Richard and we came back to our room, packed up our loot, and took it to FedEx to ship home.

FedEx is in the lobby of the Hilton, along with a Starbucks, so we decided to relax there and have coffee.  As I was putting away my wallet after placing our order, a homeless guy panhandled me INSIDE THE LOBBY OF THE HILTON.  When I got back to Richard with our beverages and told him about it he complained to the doorman who said the guy had already been thrown out.  Don't think we'll be staying in that hotel any time soon...

We walked to Powell & Market so Richard could see them turn the cable car and then back to our hotel.  Went to the diner up the street for burgers and now we're in for the evening.

Interesting...IMDb links to an article with the title, "Jack Carter, Emmy-Nominated Comic Actor, Dead at 93 (http://www.thewrap.com/jack-carter-emmy-nominated-comic-actor-dead-at-93/)."  However, his IMDb listing (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0141660/reference) says that he was born June 24, 1923, which would make him 92.  BUT, Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Carter_%28comedian%29) says that he was born in 1922, which would make him 93 years old.

Hmm. ::)
