I do have to number myself among those ignorant of Previn's songs. Or most of them.
Did he write the ones for the film version of IRMA LA DOUCE? I found that yesterday, too.
Monday morning greetings! Today I have my second appointment with Wendy, the nail stylist who did my July 10 manicure that lasted all through the trip to California. It needs attention, but still looks presentable. Today she'll attend to my fingernails and do my first ever pedicure.
TOD
Songs from various versions of Alice in Wonderland
Songs from musicals based on the works of Charles Dickens
Songs that DID NOT WIN the Academy Awards. (There is a wealth of material there)
Surgery tomorrow.
Positive vibes appreciated.
Oddly -- and this is a real coincidence -- I was going through my soundtrack LPs yesterday. It's part of my master project in seeing what I've got that's important, what I can get rid of, etc. Anyway, discovered I had a beautiful copy of Previn's TWO FOR THE SEESAW which I'd never listened to, and I don't think I ever saw the movie either. Played a few tracks, and it's great. (Mono copy of a stereo release, but hey.)

ChasSmith, did you know that Kritzerland released Two For the Seesaw (http://www.kritzerland.com/seesaw.htm)? It's (of course) out of print, but you can get copies from Amazon market sellers (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0026CF3F2/) for as little as $59.99!
;)
The above, ladies and gentlemen, is precisely why I keep Excel spreadsheets of my shiny silver discs. I never got around to making a database of the records, but I have done quite well at it in the era of CDs, LDs, DVDs, and BDs. That's a lot of Ds.
The reason was to have something to carry around with me when attending record sales and the like, so that I'd know what I've already got, and/or what should be replaced if a better copy comes along. Well, the record one never happened. And that would have necessitated carrying printouts around with me back then.
So I finally got smart and took the time to enter everything else into Excel, and now I'm able to check my lists, which I keep on Google Drive, via smartphone whenever necessary....
So I am off to rehearsal.....newspaper photos tonight.....setting the bows.....all the good stuff....fingers crossed that it goes as well as it did on Thursday night.

Here's another coincidence - Kritzerland issued a glorious stereo Two for the Seesaw, one of my all-time favorite scores. We have a few left.
DR Jane, I'd read some of the scary stories about gel manicures and chickened out once before. On July 10 I did have a shellac manicure (similar to gel) because I wanted it to last a long time. But today I'm going to have her do just a regular one to see how durable it is. She also did one of my thumbnails in acrylic to see how I liked it - the jury is still out...

Do any of these ruin your nails? I'm curious and might have to check into this myself, for my next trip.
Tomorrow will be quite a day. I have an appointment at 10:00, the funeral of a friend at 11:00 meet the surgeon at 1:00 and another appointment at 3:30 pm
We are having a very smoky day today. It's forest fires in Canada. So bad that they are telling people with breathing problems to stay inside. Amazing considering how far we are from Canada

Breathe, DR Cillaliz, breathe!
And plan to do something nice for yourself tomorrow evening.

Interesting, I believe they are creating a haze here. TCB & George, what about you?

Positive vibes appreciated.

I've been inside most of the day, but when I went outside, it was very clear and quite warm.
Not exactly a day off. As you know, I've alluded to a little video we shot last week and then it being edited together. Here's what it's for: Sami's mom is doing an Indiegogo campaign for our show, Welcome to My World. I told her that after the Kritzerland campaign that this was all on her and other than putting it out there that it had to all emanate from her. So, we just spent the last three hours finessing everything and it's live now. For anyone who'd like to partake there are fun money-saving perks, some of which are especially designed for folk who can't attend the show - like the cast album CD and sheet music (single songs and the full book). So, check it out and see what you think. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/welcome-to-my-world/x/9165600#/story

It isn't hazy here anymore.

Will all of the original cast members be on the CD?

Every single one. The perks are fun on this one so check it out - CDs, sheet music, etc. Just like the Kritzerland campaign, you're just buying stuff up front and saving dough doing it.
Hi, Tom! You're not alone...no one is alone.

Yes, a lot of haze from the fires on Vancouver Island.

BK, will the songbook (eventually) be sold separately from the Indiegogo campaign?
