Post by: bk on August 03, 2015, 12:27:14 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 60, and now it is time for you to post until the 60 cows come home.

DR JohnG, last night I watched some of the 1985 BBC series of MAPP & LUCIA, and the last episode I watched was Mapp's attempts to prove Lucia could not speak Italian when the Italian Contessa came to visit.

I can't think of any serial killer movies I've seen except Silence of the Lambs and a made-for-tv movie that precluded "Monster". It was called "Overkill: The Aileen Wuornos Story" and it starred Jean Smart and she was terrific in it. When "Monster" came out I told Mark that I could swear there was already a movie made about this woman who was a prostitute and went around killing her johns in revenge for the way she'd been treated all her life, but he didn't believe me until he looked it up. Why would I make that up?

Last night's Kritzerland show was terrific! Naturally, I didn't recognize a single song, not even the one that was supposedly a hit, but all the songs were fabulous and I enjoyed them very much. And Bruce was in very fine voice on his song.

This morning's bus trip was hell because of midtown traffic.  I just missed the 104 bus to 72nd Street, so I had a 10-miinute wait.  The No 5 bus arrived as soon as I got to 72nd Street, but midtown traffic extenIed the ride from around 25 minutes to 45 minutes, and i got to my 9:45 appointment at 9:40.  i had planned to be there by 9:15, so I was angry at myself for dawdling and not leaving when I originally had intended.

Ah, well . . .

Picked seven more figs this morning. But the end is in sight. The temperatures are just too hot, so the leaves are withering and can't protect the fruit any more.

That said, should I make fig ice cream or fig and balsamic ice cream? Or fig swirl?

Not sure if this is just for today, but there is a $1.99 kindle sale for the first 7 Outlander books. As in it is a bundle and the total price for all 7 books is $1.99, which is crazy.

Apropos of nothing being discussed, here is a photo of my first pet:  An Eskimo Spitz named Dinky-Boo.   He was originally called "Dinky" but the little tyke I was thought it was fun to try to scare him...so I'd go up to him and say "Dinky BOO".

(The neighborhood was all new construction.  All yards were bare of grass and looked like new construction areas.  That sidewalk and those steps may look ancient but were less than one year old when that picture was taken).
Title: Re: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 60
Post by: Ron Pulliam on August 03, 2015, 03:16:51 PM
And thus it was.  Dinky-Boo wasn't friendly to anyone other than me and my folks.  We had lots of kids in the neighborhood and they were all scared/forbidden to come to our house.   Dinky-Boo was soon given to someone in the country.   For Christmas, I got a Cocker Spaniel we named "Toby".
