Good morning, George, or is it good evening?
All I know is what I was told - that for each of these Bar and Bat Mitzvah's they gave a couple of hundred bucks - whether that was a gift or a contribution I know not. And since Sami and Sarah chose NOT to have Bat Mitzvahs the least these scum suckers could have done was also contribute SOMETHING to something that is Sami's dream.
I understand the Kritzerland love and why, thankfully, we had a pretty successful Indiegogo campaign. Again, I was off on the sidelines for the most part in this campaign - but it irritated me no end to hear these endless stories of fair-weather friends either saying no, not making a contribution ( like buying some damn tickets in advance, or the CD - no one was asking for free money), or promising they'd do it and then not doing it. They suck, these people, sorry.
I don't even think it will be karma. I think they will need the support and or assistance of the family and they will not get it. They'll be all hurt and not understanding and she will more than happily explain it to them. This was very hard for her to do - she really doesn't like asking anyone for anything, but she did it, did it nicely, did it positively, promises were made by certain people who didn't end up keeping the promise, and others just ignored or dismissed her. None of that would be a problem if she was not the person she is and hadn't been so very supportive of them. Support is a two-way street. It's like The Godfather - "I'll do this thing for you, but the time may come when I need you to do a thing for me."
Larry congratulations on the offer. Please please accept. You never know what other doors it might open
As to my offer of speaking, I am holding off making a decision until I've spoken to the people in charge; I know it's tied in with a production of Sondheim On Sondheim, so I want to know what topics they and i think are something I know anything about pertaining to Mr Sondheim beyond the Pulitzer Prize. Perhaps I could talk about diminishing Broadway pit orchestras..
As to the logistics of my accepting, I probably need to purchase a new suit, I have no money to my name for traveling for a week - car rental, living expenses; maybe i need an Indiegogo campaign?
I think i must be misunderstanding something about what the parents are thinking of.
Teeth and all that other stuff VIBES to DR vixmom.

I am guessing that most guests at Bar Mitzvahs give cash. So if Sami's mom gave cash to every one Sami went to that would be a lot of money she's given to these various people.

But isn't the cash kind of similar to what you give when going to a wedding, rather than something you'd even think that someone would pay back as a return favor someday?
Jane - Someone linked to this article on Leslie Odom, Jr. in HAMILTON

The link keeps giving pop-up ads, but with a little patience, it's worth reading, a good solid interview.
Have any New Yorkers seen "Invisible Tread"? Odom's wife is in it.
Tonight I am going to sit in the audience to see the three-hour including intermission INTO THE WOODS.....
I am sure I will enjoy it. I like the show a lot....and except for the abundance of HAZE, it will be good.....I hope I can see most of it.....
I just read in an artcile that Whitney Houston had been named after Whitney Blake (the late mom of Meredith Baxter, played the mom on Hazel, co-creator of One Day at a Time).

The hours of daylight are already growing noticeably shorter.
Of course Whitney Blake created ONE DAY AT A TIME as a series for herself.....at least she credit AND money.....

Vibes foe George's aunt
Well, I must be off. I have to shower and get dressed. I also need to find out if my aunt is out of the hospital. No one has called me, yet. If she's out, I'll probably be at my parents' house until I have to go to the theate.
Have a good day, all!

No, but then it is invisible
Since it was a result of treatment for a medical condition, would insurance cover any of it?
Well it looks like fixing my teeth properly will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of ten grand and take approximately ten months to complete

That is the after insurance price
DR JRand64 beat me to it.
Good family news from DR George.
Bad medical news from DR vixmom. Sheesh! Would it cost any less if they just pulled everything and gave you dentures?
Maybe we could have an Indiegogo campaign for ALL our needs:
DR Elmore's travel expenses and new suit.
DR Vixmom's teeth.
DR Michael's pantry replenishment.
And so on.
I can't get those aerobics videos from yesterday out of my brain. :P
George, I'm glad your aunt is doing better and out of the hospital. I hope she continues to do well.

Thanks, Jeanne and Jrand and Singdaw! I just had a visit with her at my sister's house. She's tired, but feeling much better.

On the way home, I stopped at the local supermarket chain and discovered that they were selling copies of my barbecue book.

Yay! That's wonderful, John G.
Did they ask you to autograph any of them? Or did you stay quiet about it?

Is this for implants? That would be my option.

That is for two implants which will anchor a permanent bridge
Thank you, all. I doubt it will mean any more money for me, but who knows what could happen.
And we're done! A good show with a good audience.
Now, to home. :)
