Well, you've read the notes, the notes were irritating, and now it is time for you to post until the irritating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PSEPHOLOGY!
-
I finished reading The Professor and am about to begin The Confessor.
-
They have nothing in common, just became available from the library to read in that order.
-
I'm about 2/3rds of the way through "To Kill a Mockingbird." They're in the middle of the court case and it looks like Atticus is winning his case!
But I know the ending.
:-X
-
Morning all.
That is all.
-
The Professor

-
Good morning, all!
I'm feeling lazy at the moment and I am debating whether or not to go up to Columbia.

The Confessor

BK, sometimes the omens tell you, STAY IN BED. Whenever I ignore it, I have terrible days. Maybe that's why I'm pondering going back to bed at the moment.
-
I have nothing else to report.
-
Oh, except that I am listening to Andrew Lippa's score for A Little Princess.
-
Yes, a lottery win would be really welcome.
-
Oh, except that I am listening to Andrew Lippa's score for A Little Princess.
Did you lose a bet?
-
Good morning to all

ASK BK
The files you sent to Boswell what kind of file was it? Kinkos can only print PDF, Word, Excel, Photoshop, Illustrator, Publisher
It is always best to have the file as a PDF
-
Well, I'm still sitting here like so much fish. If I'm not going back to bed, I might as well get busy.
-
I am still trying to figure out what MR BK's song is about. I am thinking MAYBE the Huntington Hartford Theater.
-
Rehearsal last night was good. I like this play, but the director doesn't listen to anyone who just might have a suggestion or MIGHT know what he is talking about.
And he never stands up....he directs sitting down....
But the cast is game. Ms. Hruba Ralston is not getting any better - nor is her English accent...... And she is always IN THE WAY.
-
But other than that, it was a fine night.
INTO THE WOODS is SOLD OUT for the remaining four performances....although there will be empty seats when season ticket holders do not show up. They paid for the seats, so that is their choice. We can't sell them again....although now and then, we do.
It would be nice if they called and let us know.....of course the word is out that the show is THREE HOURS long, and that bothers some people. There will be an exodus during intermission as well.
-
I am working in the Box Office at 5 p.m. - the Box Office at 7 p.m. and intermission - and then cleaning. AND then I am finished with INTO THE WOODS!!!
And on to THE GAME'S AFOOT.
-
DR ELMORE is gettin' busy!
-
Good morning, all.
Coffee. Banana. Maybe a cookie (peanut butter, naturally). More coffee. And so it goes.
-
I am still trying to figure out what MR BK's song is about. I am thinking MAYBE the Huntington Hartford Theater.
I'm going to crib off DR Jrand64's sheet and guess the same. If we're wrong, we're wrong, but they can never say it wasn't a damned good guess.
-
Off to the tax office. Running a little late this morning.
-
But not so late that I can't post on HHW!
-
While in lovely Rome, New York this weekend, a few of us took a break from movies and went to the one large thrift shop in town to see if we could score any books or records or anything else fun.
I came back with the original cast LP of the Harburg/Fain FLAHOOLEY -- which I'd never heard a note of -- in mint condition, inside and out. It's a late 1970s reissue, which is kind of too bad because I later found the first issue is apparently rare and highly valued. But hey. (Hey!) It actually looks good, which is rare for a reissue, it fills a li'l hole on the shelf, and from what I've heard of it so far, it's a fun listen.
What I didn't come back with was a pair of KLH Model Six speakers...one of the best of the 1960s "bookshelf" (though these are huge) speakers, priced at $70, a steal if they're working perfectly. I would love to put them into a vintage turntable and tube amp system somewhere in the house, but I'm maxed out in terms of space. Plus, there was no good way to test them out. (You could also just refinish them nicely and sell them for a few hundred to the next guy. Oh well.)
-
Many no-annoyance vibes to BK!
-
Is it page 2 yet?
-
Jrand - Wasn't there a song:
The show is three hours long
It's three hours long
So sit your rear, here
Three hours long
Which sometimes works out right
Sometimes works out wrong
(or maybe not)
-
At least it got us to page 2!
-
BK is one of the most resilient people I know and one of the things I admire most about him. He'll show us all and make lemonade out of yesterday. i usually end up with a floor of crushed lemons.
-
I need an energy boost to make the trek yo rh supermarket on 86th Street. i am still craving a nectarine.
On another craving, I wish this recording were on CD! When HarperCollins bought the Caedmon catalogue from its owners, who never took a recording out of print, they took nearly all of the damned catalogue out of print!
I cannot remember now which album cover was the first. I think this one was.
-
And I think this was the final cover when I was working at the Drama Book Shop:
-
I'm looking for a copy of the LPs on used LP-vinyl sites, and if i find one in really good condition, I will purchase it and ask DR Ben's anthony to transfer it to mp3 files.
-
I'll keep my eye open for it, too, DR Elmore.
-
i am still craving a nectarine.
Just don't swipe The Witch's nectarines.
Since we've been talking about Into the Woods.
-
THE GAME'S AFOOT.
It certainly is. :)
-
(Hey!)
What are you, DR Ron Pulliam all of a sudden?
-
i am still craving a nectarine.
Just don't swipe The Witch's nectarines.
Since we've been talking about Into the Woods.
I hate that show! Almost as much as PASSION.
-
I hate that show!
Really?
I had no idea!
;D
-
Good morning, all.
-
Woke to find someone had stolen my credit card a couple of weeks ago and make several dozen charges. Ugh.
Thankfully, all the charges have been knocked off my account. But it's a pain.
-
Make that they stole my credit account number.
-
Sorry to hear that, DR John G.
(and darn it, I was just going to order myself up a mansion and a yacht!)
-
ChasSmith, that score for Flahooley is marvelous, one of my favorites, with or without Yma Sumac (or Amy Camus spelled backwards)
-
Sorry to hear that, DR John G.
(and darn it, I was just going to order myself up a mansion and a yacht!)
More than 25 of the charges were pizza places. In Houston.

When my credit card account was stolen around 1986 or so, they bought shoes and clothing all over Italy.
-
I've been to market and returned with a lot of nectarines.
Since i returned, I've been dealing with Ohio travel and lecture questions: do I need equipment for playing recordings or anything for visual aids?
I need to talk to Randy and Jo about travel dates.

I'm up - I got eight hours, but just barely. Weird dreams.
-
Some days, it's roast beef. Other days demand pastrami. There's NO either/or. There just is a day for one and a day for the other.
-
Hey!
-
I received a very strange and unusual e-mail Monday. It was from someone who had read a 13-year-old post I had made to Film Score Monthly Messageboard about a reissued CD soundtrack.
This person was incensed and quite upset that the CD soundtrack had been reissued and he declared it to be a bootleg and illegitimate and was sorry for me for having been swindled by the perpetrators of the bootleg.
He then went on a rampage about the company that issued "the bootleg" and various people associated with it, all of whom he claimed had NOTHING to do with producing the CD.
I was aghast, agape, agog and TOTALLY fascinated by this e-mail. Let me tell you!
I have since googled this person and discovered him to be exactly who he said he was and his associations with the people currently associated with the label, although without the rampage and accusations that had been hurled in the e-mail.
Fascinated. Of course, I have no interest in becoming embroiled in anything, but I'm nonetheless intrigued.

Here is the sentence "Ron Pulliam is a fine, upstanding gentleman and a scholar.", rendered in IPA, the International Phonetic Alphabet:
Rɑn ˈPʊliəm əz ə faɪn, ˈʌpˌstændɪŋ ˈʤɛntəlmən ənd ə ˈskɑlər.

Because I know you all would want to know such things.

Whether or not you agree with the sentiment.

Nice and appropriate song from DR FJL.

WOW! I wonder what I have said that will come back to haunt me ;)

I want to stay at the place that has elephants walking through it.

Now this has me pissed off. This school of big asses with tiny minds has the nerve to consider itself an educator. This petty cruelty is really hard to take.

I read that, also. It's ridiculous. :P

Wednesday afternoon greetings! Our day began here with a bang - well, lots of banging, actually, because we had a crew here removing our old gutters and downspouts and putting up new ones. About the time they were finished I left to do errands and go visit Mom. Back here for the evening in time to put a meat loaf in the oven for dinner.
-
I'm looking for the thread, Ron, but can't find it.
This was not posted to FSM...it was a private e-mail. It referenced a posting I had made to FSM in 2002.

I love how the morally outraged on Facebook have all gotten up in arms about big game hunters. Guess what, outraged people, where was your outrage before this? If it's not on Facebook, I guess it's not worth being outraged about. Big game hunting has been going on forever - so the sudden moral outrage is strictly a product of Facebook - in fact, it's what Facebook is all about.
-
Had a nice time with Sami and mom. First we went to eat at a little Japanese jernt - had a lunch special, so small portions of teriyaki chicken, vegetable tempura and sesame chicken, although I left over half of the latter.
-
We talked about the show and everything, then came back and sang through some stuff - she's in very good voice, I'm happy to say.
-
Back here for the evening in time to put a meat loaf in the oven for dinner.
What time should we show up?

a posting I had made to FSM in 2002.
That's what bk was looking for.

FOUR!

I think Facebook only made it easier to be vocal about this. I doubt being morally outraged was anything new.

I think you're very wrong on this one.
-
So, no one can guess what the first song I wrote for the LA show is - what place it's about?
-
DR Jrand64 threw one out there, which I'm on board with.
-
My guess is the pier/park across the boardwalk from bk's grandparents' place.

Well, I'm leaving work. My friend Margo called me when I was at lunch, asking if I wanted to go to dinner with her...but I needed to drive. Her daughter has her car. I said yes, but tonight, however, is my one night to do laundry, so it can't take too long. I don't know where we're going, but it'll be good, I'm sure. :)
Be back later.

Hello, everyone.
-
Lottery vibes to Vixmom, Elmore, and Dan M!
Good health and prosperity vibes to all!
-
Bruce, I thought you said you wrote a song about CC Brown's.
CC Brown's has the best sundaes,
CC Brown's...
(I guess this is why I'm not a songwriter.)
-
The amusement park was Pacific Ocean Park and it was indeed fascinating to this teen.
-
I began a new form of back and neck therapy yesterday. I found a massage therapist who is a Kung Fu master and he does what's known as Blind Thai Massage. (No, he's not blind, but his teacher was.) This is deep, deep, DEEP tissue work and it hurts like the dickens. But people rave about how he got rid of pain that no one else could get rid of. You endure an hour of pain in order to be free of pain later. I had my first treatment yesterday and expected to feel sore today. I was sore, but so far it was no worse than what I often experience. If tomorrow is no worse than today I'll book another session with him.
He's practically next door to the Pico Playhouse, which was once the Century City Playhouse, where BK performed in his teens.
-
Sorry to hear your credit card number was stolen, John G. Even when you're not held responsible it's still a pain in the tush.
-
TTFN.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Did a jog, and had a very quick one-hour work session for the Kritzerland show. For anyone but John Boswell, we would have spent an hour alone on The Advantages to Floating in the Middle of the Sea.
-
So, while putting the finishing touches on our meat loaf dinner I looked in the freezer for green beans and found 2 pints of Graeter's ice cream! I found the green beans, too, which we had for dinner, but I also just had some yummy mint chocolate chip...
Rob and Mary Linda contributed the ice cream, but it won't last until she gets back from England 8)
-
I'm back from my dinner with Margo (quasi-sequel to "My Dinner with André"...but not really ;) ).
-
We ended up going to Pizza Hut.
-
I had a Pepperoni Lover's® Personal Pan Pizza.
-
Sorry to hear your credit card number was stolen, John G. Even when you're not held responsible it's still a pain in the tush.
Thank you. And amen.
-
I forget which kind of pizza Margo had, but we shared the HERSHEYS® Chocolate Dunkers® for dessert. Delish!
-
Sorry to hear your credit card number was stolen, John G. Even when you're not held responsible it's still a pain in the tush.
Ditto and Ditto!! That's terrible. >:(
-
Started watching Top Five with Chris Rock. I like him, but I wish the movie were just that much better than it is.
-
I'm now at home, fully stuffed with pizza and Dunkers®, doing laundry.
-
Well, the washing machine is actually "doing" the laundry. I just stuffed the washing machine with my dirty clothes and started it up.
-
Drove home in a rain storm tonight. That's not supposed to happen in San Antonio at this time of year, but the lightning show was wonderful.
-
Who paid for the pizza, George? Will I find it on one of my cards?
-
Five!
-
Not in the mood to watch anything - I did try.
-
Who paid for the pizza, George? Will I find it on one of my cards?
Margo, and no. She paid with cash. :)
-
Now pizza sounds damn good! I did a calorie check on my lunch - man, Japanese food is really good for diets - the amount of teriyaki chicken I had isn't even 300 calories, in fact closer to 200. The vegetable tempura is less than that and the sesame chicken is also very reasonable and I didn't eat that much of it. I only had about an ounce of white rice, too.
-
The sesame chicken is less than the teriyaki chicken - I think that entire meal, which was very filling, came to about seven hundred calories and I definitely jogged off 150 of those. Then I had two mini-hamburger buns toasted with a tiny bit of butter on them - those are 90 each and the butter is probably not over 200, so all in and I'm still under 1000 calories and FULL.
-
Oh oh!
-
This is not good.
-
Where is everyone?
-
Well, I had an interesting day.
-
I went to my doctor's office today for the start of the quest for a power scooter.
-
I think we got it all correct.
-
Is power scooter a euphemism?
-
When I got there, Pam, who used to be my doctor's nurse, but has now promoted, said she thought I looked puffy.
-
Are the errant and truant dear readers a euphemism?
-
Bored of page five.
-
Listening to music.
-
Bored.
-
And yet I don't want to watch anything.
-
My doctor must have thought so too, because while Pam was typing the form, he came over and was checking my heart and my breathing.
-
Suddenly my doctor says that they need to do an EKG on me right now!
-
He said I think you are experiencing atrial fibrillation (also called afib).
-
Well, by the time they got the equipment in there and got me wired up. I was no longer showing signs of afib.
-
So, he told me to be aware of my heartbeat, and if it shows signs of irregular beating then I need to call 911.
-
And how was your evening, Mrs. Lincoln?
-
I feel fine. Of course, I felt fine when I got there.
-
The only time I felt unfine was when they told me that I was.
-
But it did get my pulse racing.
-
I think we got it all correct.
Great! And Good Luck, Tom!
-
Is power scooter a euphemism?
I hope not.
-

Good vibes you get it approved this time!

Oh my, at least you felt fine and it didn't last long.
-
DR Jeanne I hope you feel good tomorrow.
