Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a mystery, and now it is time for you to post until the mysterious cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ELEEMOSYNARY!
Smoke on your pipe and put that in.
-
Regarding the mystery: well I must say, bk, you really have determination! Glad that this led to the 50-year old mystery finally being solved!
-
ELEEMOSYNARY!
What Sherlock Holmes says when he's a little tipsy:
Eleemosynary, my dear Watson!
-
That's also what comes out when DR vixmom tries to type it on her iPad.
-
bk's close and personal friend, Mr. Stephen Sondheim, has cited Hermann's score for Hangover Square as a major influence on his own score for Sweeney Todd.
-
First after singdaw!
-
good morning to all

Good morning, all.
-
A wonderful mystery. Love that one. Bravo, sir!

What was the story behind this?
-
Haven't caught up yet - has video of the new giant "Fish Carousel" in battery park been posted here yet?
If not, here's this, courtesy of the AP:

the new giant "Fish Carousel"
Inspired by Mr. Snow himself!
-
Good morning, all! I was in bed by 9:30 and slept very well. There was a dream involving Stephen Foster's song "O Susanna" but that's all I remember of it.
-
I'm happy the mystery is solved, but I was hoping you'd found Judge Crater, Jimmy Hoffa, or the missing "Jitterbug" footage.
-
I'm getting revved up for the Columbia library and also wondering if that inept travel agent will make my day a really good one.
-
Last night I finished Season 4 of FOYLE'S WAR. On to Season 5!
-
After Columbia, I must make my monthly meds trip to the pharmacy.
-
My life is so boring. i miss the foundation and the recording. I did break down two days ago and send an email inquiry to the foundation that asked me about returning to work about 3 months ago. There's been no response. Perhaps they changed their mind?
-
Boredom Be Gone and employment vibes to DR Elmore!
Health, wealth, wellness, and Oxford comma vibes to all!
-
TOD:
Back in the 1950s, I saw Edward Everett Horton in a production of THE WHITE SHEEP OF THE FAMILY at Seattle's Cirque Theatre (in the round). I was in the 2nd row. Watching this comic master work is probably my most memorable theatrical experience.
-
TOD (2):
Of course, I can never forget seeing Mary Martin and Robert Preston in I DO! I DO! at the Dorothy Chandler in Los Angeles.
-
Nice notes!!!
And lovely photos yesterday from DR JANE of the her new abode.
-
My father was moved from ICU to a regular room yesterday, and hopefully he will get to come home today or tomorrow.
-
Speaking of THE MOST HAPPY FELLA:
Art Lund used to be my publicity client.
At the time, he was filming THE MOLLY MAGUIRES with Sean Connery and Richard Harris.
-
I keep waiting for the director to tell the awful actress how awful she is - but she just keeps plugging away and getting more awful.....
It makes rehearsal very difficult for me.....
And a few things that really need their OWN rehearsal.....dead body moving business....sort of just happen and we move on...... I don't think I'm going to be able to wear a hairpiece.....the arm over the head carry would make short work of it in no time.....
-
CD ORDERED!!!
-
Good news regarding your father, DR Jrand64!
-
~ ~ ~ VIBES, VIBES, VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DR elmore3003!
-
TWO, TWO!
-
Oxford comma vibes to all!
Hear, hear! (despite the grumbling in the background from DR John G.!)
-
WONDERFUL Herrmann release, BK!

I was wondering the same thing.

Oh man. It would seem to me that this goes without saying. There are few things funnier in a play than having to hide the dead body, and like any great comedy set piece, it's got to be FLAWLESS. Every time.
(Preaching to the choir, sorry.)
Which actress is the awful one?

Good Morning, Everybody. Another Hot August Day!

ELEEMOSYNARY!
What Sherlock Holmes says when he's a little tipsy:
Eleemosynary, my dear Watson!
:)
-
And I am home.
And I am feeling puny.
The good news is that my flight tickets are all set. The bad news is that i feel lousy both physically and mentally.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Richard and I left here about 1:30 yesterday afternoon for our lunch date at Bravo, followed by my shopping at 4 craft stores, and a little chillin' time at Starbucks. Our last stop was the library from which I retired for the "Farewell to Main" reception. Visited with many former co-workers and caught up with my former manager who is about to become director of the public library system headquartered here in Middletown.
-
Soon I'll get myself together to go shopping for the strawberries and blueberries for my chocolate-coated cones. Watch this space for a photo when they're completed!
-
We've had to adjust our fall travel plans because Richard has received a jury duty summons that interferes with the ideas we had. However, it does NOT impact the first week of November, so we're exploring a trip to NYC for Sami's show!
-
Good morning, all.
I feel a little more lifelike today. A little is better than how I felt yesterday, so I'll take it.
-
TOD:
Anita Morris in particular doing "A Call from the Vatican," but the entire production of Nine was pretty spectacular. It was also the second show I saw on Broadway.
A preview of Sunday in the Park with George before Children and Art was included.
A production of Merry Wives of Windsor at Louisville's Shakespeare in the Park.
-
Singdaw, I would rather have the Oxford comma than the current trend of ignoring commas altogether.

Employment vibes for Elmore.
Continued back-to-work vibes for DR Michael.
Continued vibes for JRand, his father and family.
Vibes for Dan M, Druxy and anyone else in need.
-
Employment vibes for Elmore.
Thanks, DR JohnG. I don't know what hit me, but I left Columbia and headed to the pharmacy, where I found myself wanting to sit on the sidewalk and weep. I was a complete mess.
-
I think my most vivid memories are of high school plays because that's just the time when memories tend to be very vivid. I saw some high school musicals too ("Hello Dolly" and "Damn Yankees"), but for some reason I don't remember them as well as the plays. I mostly remember "Mama's Bank Account" and "Barefoot in the Park." It was so fun to see my own friends in these plays instead of strangers that I normally saw on TV. I think the first professional musical I saw was "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying", but I don't remember it all that well, except for hearing my future mother-in-law laughing hysterically at a bawdy dance number at the end.

I felt much the same way yesterday when the nasal flood wouldn't stop and the stomach ache kicked in and all energy was drained out.

Bruce, back then you might have made it to San Diego in less time. Good for you solving the mystery :)

TOD
'Tis with regret that I say that there's nothing theater-wise that had its effect on me in a way that I ever thought I remembered every detail of the experience, or anything close to that. But since, to the very best of my knowledge, a local performance of SOUTH PACIFIC was the first musical I saw on stage (probably first play, period), and I was blown away by the magic of the piece (the performance might have been execrable for all I know), I'll credit that night at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale with being printed indelibly in my memory, and planting the seed.
It was a few years later that I volunteered my services as rehearsal and pit pianist for the Junior Theatre's production of LI'L ABNER. While that, too, was most assuredly nothing to write home about (I already was home, anyway), that experience truly lit the fire.
So, those two are significant for being "firsts", but that's about as far as it goes. And I'm not sure I even answered the question.
-
Bruce, back then you might have made it to San Diego in less time. Good for you solving the mystery :)
And with no help at all from Adrianna and Billy!
Or do you think he might have had just a little?
-
Qualified good news from DR elmore3003 and DR John G.
I'll take it!
:)

Good morning, all! I was in bed by 9:30 and slept very well. There was a dream involving Stephen Foster's song "O Susanna" but that's all I remember of it.
Must have some allegorical association with a banjo on your knee.
-
Hey!
-
Congrats, bk, on solving the Most Happy Fella mystery. (The title of my next book.)
-
TOD:
San Francisco productions of
"Wicked" (world premiere) -- two different performances, each unique and memorable
"A Chorus Line" (revival pre-Broadway) -- blew me away
"Mostly Sondheim" - Barbara Cook's tour -- 90 minutes of uninterrupted vocal magic!

Yes, it was.

A second post for page 3...just to move things along after a lull. And to get myself to an even number of overall posts.
-
I'm up, I'm up. Was up at six, announced, and fell back asleep around seven - so I think I did get eight hours of sleep. Overcast outside.
-
Congrats on solving the mystery, BK!

My father was moved from ICU to a regular room yesterday, and hopefully he will get to come home today or tomorrow.
Very good news, Jrand!

Sooo, Bruce comments on my facebook page but, unless I missed it, didn't respond to my question a couple of nights ago ;D

A 2-day-old mystery, then!
-
A Question for BK: will this new Kritzerland soundtrack to "Hangover Square/5 Fingers" be the first to be sent to the people who pledged money for the "Kritzerland 10th Anniversary and Keep On Kritzing" campaign? Or will those start later?

I looked this up:
(1) In your posts, where it sits exactly as it's seen above; and
(2) In the posts for August 13th where it is nowhere to be seen at all.
That said, I sent Bruce a private message a week or so ago and he responded. But the message I sent is "nowhere" in my "sent messages" cache. It's as if I never sent it, except that his reply is in my "inbox".
-
That is strange.
-
I wrote that post after we stopped laughing hysterically while watching "Bullshit".
-
I just looked and the post is right where it should be.

That paid very well - I was Dr. Learley. Penn and Teller loved that character, who came back a few times in subsequent seasons.
-
Made some pasta with butter and cheese - maybe six ounces of it.

It's automatic unless we're notified if someone wants to decline a release.
-
I didn't realize this, or didn't remember bk.
So if I placed a paid order today for the new release via Paypal, what happens to my status as a campaign funder - does it extend my number of pre-paid releases by one?
-
And thanks for raising the question, DR George!

Don't you just wish. 8)

And besides: there isn't any photographic evidence.

I did not know this. I ordered the new CD today. May I decline the release at this time or should we cancel my paid order?

I just looked and the post is right where it should be.
I found it, too. However, it is one hour later on the forum for me than it was for you!

If you paid for the CD, the easiest thing would be to just start your Indiegogo perks with the next release.

That makes sense because I'm sure that we each have the time set to our own time zone, so what's 9:52:30 on the west coast is 10:52:30 in the mountain time zone.

Though I'm in the Eastern time zone, I always see Pacific time-- I assumed it was the same for everyone.

You can actually change it to whatever time zone you want. If you want to see the eastern time zone time, go into your profile, hover your cursor over "Modify Profile", then select "Look and Layout." There, you can change the time zone by changing the "Time Offset" option.

But we are in the same time zone. I had better see if this post matches the correct time.
-
I am only off my seconds.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and feed my friend's cats and fish (which I hope is still alive :-\ ). Then, I need to hie myself to the theater (The Midnight Sun) for the beginning of the last weekend of Theater Artists Olympia's production of "An Improbable Peck of Plays, Vol. 4."
Be back later!
-
I am only off my seconds.
Hmmm.... Seconds. What a great idea!
:)
-
Personally, I'm off my rocker.
-
But I guess you knew that.
-
Managing the Kritzerland Indiegogo perks sounds like quite a logistical nightmare.
I am very glad that this is not my task.
-
That's also what comes out when DR vixmom tries to type it on her iPad.
Hey, I resemble that remark!
-
I keep falling asleeep
-
And I am back from an emergency call to play auditions for THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW because their pianist couldn't make it. Two hour notice. The auditions themselves were kind of a horror show. But now I feel I've done my good deed for the
day week month. Yeah, month sounds good. :)
-
Apparently the cast for the ASSASSINS I'm playing in is a knockout, so I'm looking forward to that. Rehearsal and sitzprobe in three weeks.
-
That sounds very good, DR ChasSmith!
-
Well, I have been up since 3:30am (couldn't sleep), and am more than ready for bed RIGHT NOW.

Brown cow.

Well, the cats are fed and the fish is still alive, but THERE WERE ANTS ALL OVER THE KITCHEN COUNTER!! :o
I texted her to let her know, but I have no idea what to do.

That sounds great, ChasSmith! I would love to see it again.
-
And now, I'm at the theater just waiting for the house to open.
-
I don't know if there are any presold tickets.
-
Hopefully, someone will show up to see the show.
-
Good to know about the CD. I was going to order it in a few days.
-
Started to watch "The Court Jester," which I am enjoying thoroughly.
-
But a phone call from a friend made me put the movie on pause.
-
I'll have to finish it tomorrow.
-
We have people in the audience! Not a lot, but too many to cancel tonight's show. WHEW!
;D
-
Or maybe I'll watch the rest of it tonight. It's too much fun.
-

Yay!
-
FIVE!!
-
Well, gotta go now. It's time for the first act!
-
I'm afraid I'm too tired to finish this tonight. The chalice with the palace will have to wait until tomorrow.
-
George, I'm glad the fish didn't die on you. We do not like being responsible for friends fish.
-
Had a brief doze but now must go to bed
-
Jack your Dad and you and your family remain in my prayers
-
Elmore. (((Hugs))))
-
I did manage to watch two motion pictures on Blu and Ray - haven't done that in a while.
-
George, I'm glad the fish didn't die on you. We do not like being responsible for friends fish.
It's a small betta fish and my friend said that she won't be heartbroken if it dies. Her daughter who is now going to USC got it at a fair in California earlier this year and my friend carried it on the plane when she came back home.
-
Since I'd only had the six ounces of pasta and I jogged, I went to Gelson's and got some healthy stuff for snacking - peaches, nectarines, apples and some carrots.
-
The audience seems to like it. Intermission is almost over, so gotta go until I get home.
Be back later. :)
-
I've eaten carrots and melon balls and am letting the other fruitstuffs get cold.
-
And I'm home.
-
Just had to share. :)
