Well, you've read the notes, the notes bathed in Epsom salts, and now it is time for you to post until the salty cows come home.

Wow - the Kritzerland limited-edition release of Bachrach's score for Casino Royale on CD has used copies on Amazon going for between $150 and $600.

There is also a new attempt at the restoration and re-mastering of this music on the market:

Today is a rather lovely dark windy rainy one with no obligations, and I look forward to some rather lovely indoor musical activities.

DR CHAS SMITH the awful actress is the one who plays The Inspector.....she doesn't come on until the second act....so the audience gets a respite - that they don't even know about.

Lovely notes....yes I remember that GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER was one of those movies that EVERYONE went to see and talked about incessantly....and went to see again and again.

I enjoyed it.....

So....the NEXT six releases will be sent to me automatically?  Is that right?  It just seems so WRONG not to order them.....I can't get that into my brain....it is so full of lines and blocking and re-blocking....etc etc etc.....

Interesting.  That original LP was one of the holiest of grails among audiophiles for years, and you couldn't find a good copy for less than a king's ransom.  As one who never possessed a king's ransom, and who came too late to Kritzerland to get the CD, I remain depraved on account of I'm deprived.

The fruit cones were a big hit.  My friend Betty brought peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream to go with it and some people put a scoop of ice cream on top of the cones.  I hadn't thought of that!

The book we read/movie we watched was Still Alice.  It's a frightening story about early-onset Alzheimer's and Julianne Moore's Oscar-winning performance was excellent.  We weren't so thrilled with Alec Baldwin as her husband.

Topic of the Day:

In my CD player at work:  the original Broadway cast recording of The Visit (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Visit-The-2015-Original-Broadway-Cast/29367/), with a score by John Kander and Fred Ebb, AND the original Vienna cast recording to Der Besuch Der Alten Dame (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Der-Besuch-Der-Alten-Dame-2014-Original-Vienna-Cast/27965) with music by Michael Reed and Moritz Schneider, and lyrics by Wolfgang Hofer.  This show is also a musical version of "The Visit."  The CD is the entire show, which is pretty cool.  It's very different than the Kander and Ebb score.  The music is very modern and, of course, not in English, so I have no idea what the heck they're singing about.  I've listened to it once and so far I like it.

Sorry to hear this. Do you think it's ragweed? I used to feel horrible during ragweed season when I lived in the East. There's a lethargy in the office today. Feels like moving through molasses. Maybe it's a Benedryl hangover. But other people are feeling it, too.

Sorry to hear this. Do you think it's ragweed? I used to feel horrible during ragweed season when I lived in the East. Since returning to California my allergies have been minimal--until a couple weeks ago. I'd been told that California doesn't have ragweed, but we DO! It could be a particularly bad season.

It could be ragweed. Dragweed is more like it. And I don't mean in a RuPaul kinda way.

I read that the sequel to the GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO series will be released soon. The new author is a Swedish journalist and novelist. Will anyone here be reading it?

Of course. I'm curious, but it could be just like "Go Set a Watchman," the ending of which was a real letdown.

I've never known so many people having surgery. My friend Jan just had surgery and will have a second, small one soon. She'll go with me to my first eye surgery. Then her husband will have a hip replacement. Sheesh!

Vibes for all of you.

I just finished "To Kill a Mockingbird" and have started a book that a friend recommended.  As soon as I've finished that, I'll read "Go Set a Watchman."

Most especially chocolate pie.

LOL, and educational too.

I am not a fan of sequels written by other authors.

The audience seemed to have enjoyed the second more than the first, but overall it was enjoyed quite a bit.

After tonight's performance, several of the actors and a couple of us techies just hung around outside the back of the theater and chatted for a while.

Hopefully, the ant hotels (motels?) will have helped at least a little bit.
