Well, you've read the notes, the notes had osmosis, and now it is time for you to post until the wizard cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: QUIDDITY!
-
Topic of the Day: I don't know anything about food fads, so I shant comment.
-
I'm watching last night's episode of "Falling Skies." I knew that this was going to be the last season but I didn't realize that next week will be the series finale.
-
This is one of those shows that, to me, did not start out well. I watched it, but didn't like it at first. But, it was given a chance to find its way and I think it became a good show.
-
I don't know why I kept watching, but I did...then eventually, I started to like it.
-
It was very much like "Fringe" in that way. The first couple of seasons of that show were not very good, but it also ended really well.
-
And now, to bed.

-
Good morning, all! I awoke around 6:00, could not get back to sleep, and decided at 5:54 or so to get out of bed.
-
I blame the codeine in the Tylenol for the fact that I had last night lots of bizarre dreams. I kept waking and thinking, WTF? Where did that come from? I also blame the codeine for the fact that I now remember none of them.
The pains in the side are receding, but they continually sneak up and make me gasp out loud. I need not only a sherpa but a nurse.
-
Today will be a Columbia library day. On my way home, I shall stop at the market. I need nectarines.
-
I hope to see Mr Anthony Morelli this week. i have an LP set of the National Theatre of Great Britain production of Congreve's The Way of the World for him to convert to mp3 files.
I'm back on a Restoration comedy jag, and I have several plays I want to reread.
-
DR TCB, I am so sorry you have hurt your toe. Get thee to a doctor,
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
-
Today, school begins at most of the schools in the area. Traffic will be hell.
-
TOD: Though the "sous vide" approach scared me at first in principle, I've really come to like the food that results from that process.
-
I rejected the low-fat fad when I gained weight from it, but other than that, I generally embrace food that I enjoy (with the exception of sweets, which I have to keep in check) and don't think that's a fad.
-
Good morning, all.
Nothing much to report in the dreams department except for an annoying music-oriented situation that kept repeating itself.
Coffee!
-
I appreciate BK's report of listening to the Kenton WEST SIDE STORY album. When I was going through some records last week my attention was drawn to that one, along with the Previn and one or two other jazz takes on it, and I nearly took them out to play them. Now I shall simply have to.
What's the other one I have? Oscar Peterson. But there's still another, I think. Or another that BK or someone mentioned here that I made a note of somewhere. Have to find that note.
-
I wonder how the LP and CD might differ in sound. I recall the LP as being a very strong, bright, in your face recording. Well, we shall see.
-
I like those WSS jazz albums as well....I think they were my first introduction to jazz....
-
I do not know from food fads, so I shall enjoy reading about them here.
-
Toe vibes for DR TCB.
There will not be much shopping today since the cash funds are low....but we shall see what there is to purchase.
-
The Kenton is one of those records that I remember exactly when and where I discovered it. In the late 1980s I became interested in secondhand LPs and began exploring various record stores around LA. This one came from a store in Santa Monica that had a good selection of shows and soundtracks and jazz, but at a price, and I picked it up when they were running a sale. Wait, there were a couple of stores out that way. Was it Off the Record? I'll figure it out.
-

I can probably say the same, DR Jrand64.

I see that actress Anna Kashfi has died.
Here is my brief Anna Kashfi story from my 2nd memoir, LIFE, LIBERTY & THE PURSUIT OF HOLLYWOOD.
One afternoon in the late 1960s, the owner of an upscale coffee shop in Brentwood asked me to come by and talk to him about my possibly publicizing his restaurant. When I got there, he was busy with another matter, so he introduced me to one of his favorite customers, and she invited me to sit with her and her son until he was free.
The lady was actress Anna Kashfi, who had played prominent roles in films like THE MOUNTAIN with Spencer Tracy and BATTLE HYMN with Rock Hudson, but was certainly best known as being the first wife of Marlon Brando, and the mother of his son, Christian.
I spent perhaps fifteen or twenty minutes chatting with the pleasant
Ms. Kashfi about this and that. My impression of Christian, who appeared to be about eleven at the time, was that he was a quiet, well-mannered young man.
In 1990, this same quiet, well-mannered young man shot and killed
his half-sister’s boy friend in his father’s Los Angeles home. He pled guilty to manslaughter, and served five years in prison.
One never knows what the future holds.

Good Monday!

Get-better vibes for TCB!!!

~ ~ ~ VIBES OF ALL KINDS ~ ~ ~ to ALL DRs.

Well that's pretty vague, isn't it?

BOO BOO BEE DOO.

I always think of great "Ask bk" questions when it is not a Wednesday, and then by Wednesday I can't recall them.
So I'm going to post one here and see if it gets a response.
bk, do you usually come up with a title for the day's notes first, and write to that -
or do you usually write the notes first, and then select a title?
It must be hard to select a title, knowing that you can't repeat one.
-
good morning to all
-
continued good health vibes to that need them
-
Monday morning greetings! Ah, the house breathes - we have all the windows open, enjoying cool breezes and low humidity. Not typical for SW Ohio in August, but we'll take it!
-
This afternoon I have an appointment with the nurse practitioner who runs the vein clinic to get the full results of my recent scan. Film at 11...

.
Interesting that we had the oppsite reaction, liking it right from the beginning and yet not making it through the last season.
-
It was very much like "Fringe" in that way. The first couple of seasons of that show were not very good, but it also ended really well.
For me, I was hooked after the very first episode of "Fringe". I loved ALL the seasons equally as they were all fantastic, IMO.
-
Well that's pretty vague, isn't it?
Very much so. Can you be specific?
-
Hey!
-
Alas! Alack! Alarum!
The weekend has ended and it is once again Monday!
Sigh!
-
Frenzy over for now.
-
Nearly an hour later and here I am again.
-
And now I'm gone again.
-
I am home from Columbia, where the students are arriving and check-in kiosks are everywhere, bank, and the market. I am ready for a nap.
-
The title in 95% of the notes comes from something in the notes and I usually glom onto it right away. On rare occasions I have the title first. And I think I've inadvertently repeated a title or two and not caught it.
-
I'm up - exactly eight hours of sleep.
-
If anyone has a lot of money invested in the stock market, please don't do anything rash.
I think things may settle down.
-
If anyone has any money in the stock market, please private message me, so I can send you an address (namely mine) where you could make a better investment. Well, better as far as I'm concerned.

Things are moving slowly on this here blog this morning.
Where are all the usual suspects. (Put the emphasis on the last syllable of that word...sus-PECTS).
-
Alas! Alack! Alarum!
The weekend has ended and it is once again Monday!
Sigh!
Don't you HATE it when that happens??
;)
-
Trying hard to keep my eyes open today.
-
DR TCB how is your toe today? I hope you were able to go out for lunch.
Vibes your toe heals much faster than mine has.

I DO hate it when that happens.

Vibes your toe heals much faster than mine has.
Vibes for all with toes woes!
-
I need a nap.
A power nap would do.
I have those on weekends around this time of day. In my chair. For anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour.
-
"Project Runway" doesn't have me smiling much this season.
There's a decent assortment of designers, and the worst ones have been eliminated, thus far.
Still....haven't seen much of anything that impressed me....from anyone.
-
"Big Brother" hasn't been too bad, although there are a few houseguests I detest.
Who, you are asking?

One more page, I reckon.

Answer: Ozmoses
Question: Who led the Munchkins out of bondage!
-
I enjoyed my mac and cheese we had for dinner last night. Eli, who eats very little, liked it. Her mother took all but a couple of bites home for Eli to have the next few nights since it was a hit. The rest of us don't want the calories.
-
Back from banking and a turkey sandwich and no fries or onion rings.
-
I just got my tetanus booster which also means I am protected from whooping cough as well.
-
I am eating a salad and all the little tomatoes have been cut in half.
-
How dainty, DR Jane!!
:)
-
Many people don't realize that the original character name in Gypsy was Dainty Jane.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I shall shortly be on my way to rehearsal.
-
Many people don't realize that the original character name in Gypsy was Dainty Jane.
I said, "Ozmoses"!
-
How dainty, DR Jane!!
:)
Dainty! I don't want to almost die again from getting one of those suckers stuck in my throat ;D
-
I wasn't able to log onto HHW for a bit. :-\
-
Same here, DR George! For over 30 minutes.

Interesting story, DR Druxy!
-
Sorry to hear about your injury, DR TCB.
-
I wasn't able to log onto HHW for a bit. :-\
Same here. Glad to see the site is back up.
-
But you wouldn't necessarily know it, from the dearth of postings.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
How's the troubled toe today, Tom?
-
TOD:
When I was growing up the people I knew ate a limited selection of food, relative to today. I don't feel these are fads, really. People travel so much more, are exposed to many new foods, and stores stock a much bigger variety. Many people's eating habits have changed. Plus, there's much more emphasis on eating a healthy diet.
-
I have a green drink with protein powder for breakfast every morning because I'm allergic to so many foods. It's very easy, very nutritious, and I have none of the allergic reactions that I used to get. That works for me. I buy gluten-free bread for the same reason.
-
I love quinoa. I've been eating it for about twenty years. It makes a very nice tabouli salad. Native Foods Cafe introduced their Ensalada Azteca about a year or two ago: romaine, jicama, avocado, pumpkin seeds, raisins, and cucumber salsa on a bed a quinoa. I love it! It became a best-seller very quickly--and not just from me!
-
Bruce, have you tried any of the coconut milk ice cream? It's really good! It's great for people who have trouble with dairy. Unfortunately, it still contains sugar.
-
Vibes of health and good meals to all!
-
TTFN.
-
Time for me to leave work and eventually go home...no cat or fish feeding tonight, though. My friend is home and she can feed her own pets and deal with the ants herself!
Just had to share. :)
-
Let's get on with the show.
-
On with the show, let's get.
-
With the show, let's get on.
-
At last! Page Four!!
-
Really? Page Four?
-
If DR Kerry can be a movie star, then I can be a movie star.
-
The fires continue to grow in Washington.
-
The largest in state history.
-
The smoke is not as bad here today.
-
Unfortunately, the winds are blowing from the west, which helps the smoke in western Washington, but is bad for the fires in eastern Washington.
-
My toes looks like a little overcooked sausage.
-
And my foot is swollen to twice its normal size.
-
I didn't go to the doctor, because there is nothing they can do for it if it is broken.
-
I think it may be a bad sprain.
-
All I can do is to keep it elevated.
-
Soak it in BK's dreaded Epsom salts.
-
And stay off it as much as possible.
-
I didn't go to lunch today.
-
I don't think I could get my shoe on my foot.
-
That is a real bummer, DR TCB.
-
I hope your situation improves rapidly.
-
Tomorrow I am supposed to go to dinner with my sister and brother-in-law.
-
And that the cat is genuinely sorry. :)
-
I hope I can go.
-
It is kind of hard to get out and about when you can't wear any kind of shoe.
-
I also need to go to the grocery store.
-
And to the pharmacy.
-
Even a really big
show shoe.
-
I will try to move around in the morning.
-
You, DR TCB, like DR elmore3003, need a sherpa!
-
To go and to do for you.
-
Get an idea how I am doing.
-
I do need the prescription.
-
Pages move a lot more quickly when you have a little help.
-
:)
-
Five
-
Five, by the way.
-
Five
Sorry about that, Jane.
-
In case you missed DR TCB's announcement.
-
Does that make DR Jane dizzy?
-
Pages move a lot more quickly when you have a little help.
Thank you, my friend.
-
De nada, DR TCB.
-
Does that make DR Jane dizzy?
Yes.
-
However, my eyelids are really drooping. I am afraid I don't have the fortitude to help you take us to Page 6.
-
Fortitude. Or attitude. Or altitude.
-
Tudinousness.
-
It is kind of hard to get out and about when you can't wear any kind of shoe.
Especially when that is my good foot.
-
I'm just not sure that the DRs can stand any more of this witty banter.
-
However, my eyelids are really drooping. I am afraid I don't have the fortitude to help you take us to Page 6.
"But you did, Blanche, you did!"
-
But at least we are now half way to Page 6.
-
Did you know we have rats in the cellar?
-
We actually did have rats in our cellar earlier this year.
-
For Chas, or any other Oscar Peterson fans:
http://www.oscarwithlove.com/
In honor of his 90th birthday!
-
There was construction blasting going on a half block away; it stirred up some stuff.
-
We actually did have rats in our cellar earlier this year.
You have a cellar?
-
We quickly discovered that regular mouse traps aren't up to the task.
-
You have a cellar?
That's where the laundry is.
-
And home is where the heart is, of course.
-
Or so I hear.
-
So they tell me.
-
That is certainly a beautiful house.
-
OK, I am really, really sleepy.
-
And, just in the nick of time, here we are.
-
SIX!!
-
One
more. less.
-
And here is DR vixmom, to carry the ball along.
-
Good night, DR TCB!
-
Good night, SlingShot.
-
I imagine that Vixmom will be shortly headed to bed.
-
Once she catches up on the posts.
-
Vixmom, when is your vacation?
-
I must take a trip to the bathroom.
-
sorry I just caught up
-
toe vibes for TCB
-
Don't be sorry.
-
I just caught up, too, and now I must leave. Got the heavy eyelid problem going on here.
-
Thank you
-
well today was interesting
-
the boss is on vacation... again
-
my coworker is still on vacation
-
the new girl had the day off
-
I would think that would be good.
-
another coworker was out half the day doing something my boss had been scheduled to do
-
Oh oh!
-
one of the two title people was out
-
it was the part timers day off
-
of the 9 people working there there were only 3 of us in
-
I fear the worst.
-
For Chas, or any other Oscar Peterson fans:
http://www.oscarwithlove.com/
In honor of his 90th birthday!
Cool. I saw Oscar backing Ella Fitzgerald. I had seats in the fourth row center for that memorable evening. Joe Pass on guitar.
-
Nothing to report. Close to five hours of dance practice tonight. Sorry, but it's a little too much.
-
I left so much undone
-
Listening to Adrift in Macao, which I think ChasSmith played in the band of a production at one point in time.
The music is better than the lyrics.
-
but there is only so much a gal can get done in 14 hours
-
+Hi, Vixmom.
-
You can only do so much.
-
Seven!
-
Fourteen hours?
-
i need to get in early in the morning
-
i left my desk looking as if a tornado had passed by
-
I dont want to scare away the new girl just yet
-
Back from our rehearsal, which included a designer run-through of the entire show. More in the notes.
-
My friend is home and she can feed her own pets and deal with the ants herself!
Just had to share. :)
;D
Dealing vibes for your friend.
-
The smoke is not as bad here today.
It was nice here.
-
Does that make DR Jane dizzy?
Yes but one word isn't bad :)
-
of the 9 people working there there were only 3 of us in
:o
-
but there is only so much a gal can get done in 14 hours
I'm glad you left the work undone instead of putting in more hours.
-
DR TCB just how many toes did you damage?
Continued healing vibes!
