Well, you've read the notes, the notes were designer notes, and now it is time for you to post until the designer cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOGIGRAPHIA!
-
Am I first?
-
I have dozed on and off all night and that is all.
-
Good morning, all!
Another Columbia day, If I can wake up.
-
DR TCB, your foot is swollen, your toe is black. I still think you should see a doctor before gangrene sets in.
-
I have no other news. I hope that DR vixmom's day is better than yesterday's.
-
And that is the end of the news.
-
Good morning, all.
Awake way too early this morning, and laid in bed for nearly an hour.
Coffee!
-
DR John G., yes, I was on piano-conducting duty for ADRIFT IN MACAO. Clever stuff in it, but it's not a cohesive show. Audiences stayed away in droves. Apparently they knew something the director and theater board didn't.
-
I think the Cal Tjader WEST SIDE STORY is the other one that BK (or possibly someone else here) recommended. I don't have it -- a situation that will be rectified forthwith and posthaste. And soon.
-
I too am worried about DR TCB's foot.
-
Is the TOD about songs that are intentionally silly or unintentionally silly?
-
Major continuing health vibes to TCB!
-
Does Woody Allen's "Rebels are we / Born to be free / Just like the fish in the sea" (I think from SLEEPER and BANANAS) count for the TOD?
-
And it's time to head out!
Songs:
You Remind Me of You
What's New at The Zoo?>
Cleopatterer
-
Never saw that THESAURUS thing before. Love it!
-
Good morning, all.

Never saw that THESAURUS thing before. Love it!
Ditto.

DR TCB, your foot is swollen, your toe is black. I still think you should see a doctor before gangrene sets in.
Ditto.

TOD:
Cole Porter:
Let's Not Talk About Love
Katie Went to Haiti
The Tale of the Oyster (or that merely clever instead of silly?)
By the Mississississiniwah
Carolyn Leigh:
Boom-Boom
W.S. Gilbert:
The Major General
With Cat-like Tread
Here's a How-de-doo
Willow, Tit-Willow
too many more to think of at this time of morning.
-
TOD:
"Shi-poo-pi" from THE MUSIC MAN
-
Great news about the run-through, bk!
-
good morning to all

major, no general health vibes to all our dr

Great notes - I love reading about the creative process of creative people!

Nobody Throws The Bull Like My Son Joe as sung by Maurice Chevalier in a cover version.
-
We had a pretty good play going for awhile. It kind of fell apart in the last scene....lines were NOT there. I was good up until the last couple of pages....well....I was okay.
We all got our scripts on the same day - I am surprised more people are not more prepared. We've also had the schedule the same amount of time and it said NO BOOKS on August 24.....
I do not like the girl who is our stage manager. She is a drama queen with all kinds of personal problems she visits on everyone. She makes her job ten times harder than it has to be and then wants everyone to feel sorry for her because she has so much to do.
It is TOO EARLY for line notes! Give us until Thursday when we've been off book for a couple of days.....we don't need a dozen or more pages of "line/word notes"....
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
-
But other than that.....tonight the Director has decided we will only do Act One a couple of times.....which is a good thing. Then Wednesday night we will do Act Two a couple of times.... That is a very GOOD IDEA, and I was hoping we could do it that way - but I wasn't about to suggest it. Maybe he read my mind.
-
DR Jrand64, do you think Mr. Guffman will finally get out there to review the play this time?
-
Happy Tuesday! Whooppee!
-
TOD:
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Motherhood - Hello, Dolly
Swing Your Bag - Cry for Us All
Heaven Hop - Anything Goes
I Remember Love - The Drowsy Chaperone
I like all of these songs - they are just kind of silly....in a fun way.
Apparently it is nearly impossible to sing, choreograph, costume, and wig a version of The Heaven Hop.....however in some way the synergy of the wrongness in this particular version is fascinating to me.....from Bonnie's wig and big microphone on her face to the shiny dress.....she does do a couple of clever tap steps, however....

Hey!
-
It's Tuesday here in Oakland, too.
-
The sky is grayish-yellow...a mixture of marine layer and smoke from all the fires.
-
Great balls o' fire!
-
Temperatures are predicted to be only in the low 70's for us today. It is 67 degrees at noon. Very nice.
-
Good morning. I have been busy prepping to paint the living room and hall. It takes longer these days, I notice. I also have to wait an hour after taking the pain pill so it can kick in before I get started.
-
I have returned from the frigid arctic of the Columbia Butler library. Three hours is my limit.
Nap!
-
I'm up, I'm up - about eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
Easy painting vibes for DR Laura!
-
Easy painting, and no panting.
-
No pantomiming, either.
-
And that is the end of the news.
Very funny! :D
-
As DR Laura is wont to do.

Good choice DR GEORGE!!!

Good choice DR GEORGE!!!
Thanks, Jrand! ;D

TOD:
Well, if by "silliest" you mean so ineptly written that it makes any performer who attempts them look silly, I nominate "Paris Makes Me Horny" from Victor/Victoria. :P
-
I used a phone app to record my interview the other day (with the subject's permission, of course). It worked spectacularly well, and I can now sit and transcribe. During the interview, I didn't have to focus on taking notes, but could listen to what they were saying and generate appropriate follow-up questions. And although the whole process takes longer, I feel it is well worth it - it should generate a good (and accurate) article.
-
It does give me pause, however, that someone unscrupulous could easily record phone conversations without the other party knowing.
-
I prefer to be scrupulous, myself. :)
-
Not a rapscallion.
-
My scallions don't seem to have any rhythm whatsoever.
-
Random thoughts that will carry us,
-
however haphazardly,
-
to PAGE 3 at last!
-
Whew!
-
Whew!
Didja work up a sweat, singdaw?
-
Are you now suffering from mogigraphia?
-
Back from bacon, eggs and toast and no potatoes.
-
We had us another real LA rainstorm. I counted about eight droplets.
-
Ooh-Ooh! Give me a Gold Star for using the word of the day in a sentence!

Most excellent photographic evidence DR JANE. And Keith has some GREAT decor there!
-
In a few minutes, I shall be off to do ACT ONE - in which the worst actress in the world does NOT appear.
However we will be getting LINE notes.....so I expect a rather LARGE missive in my in box tomorrow morning.....
-
Love the Star Trek photo!
I don't know if you can see that teach card is signed.
When Bryan was in high school we went to a collectible store he liked looking for something to buy for his birthday. We got this for ourselves instead.

I don't think I shall ever suffer from mogigraphia, DR Ron Pulliam.

And I hope that you don't suffer from any of the sparklies from your special star getting in your eye.

So far so good. Thanks for the painting vibes. I don't have many pain pills, so when I take one, I have to work fast.
The good thing about painting the same color as before is that you can't tell if you miss a spot.
The bad thing about painting the same color as before is that you can't tell if you miss a spot.

Been relaxing and listening to music. There were no packages to pick up.

I have a question for our Vera Bradley expert. I have a purse that looks a lot like this cross body little hipster. My black & white only purse has a slightly different design.
Do you know how I can replace it? The ones on ebay do not mention an area for credit cards. The newer version of this on the VB site show fewer slots for cards and not much space in the outer sections like my current purse has.
-
Nice "Man Cave," DR Jane!
-
TOD: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (not sure of the spelling!)
-
Now: spell it backward, DR KevinH! :)
-
Boy, getting posts today is like pulling teeth.
-
I hope our DR vixmom had a better day at work today than she did yesterday.
-
Home from a weird day. Took a Fred Pryor seminar in emotional intelligence. Wish I could have slept soundly through that one.
-
Watching "The Whole Town Is Talking" with Jean Arthur and Edgar G. Robinson. Have never seen it. It's starting out fun.

DR Jane, assuming I'm the VB expert (ha!), I'm afraid I'm a bit rusty. Haven't been paying as much attention as I used to, but I do know that they phase out both styles and patterns and then they're very hard to replace. Ebay sometimes works and sometimes you can have some luck in resale and consignment shops. If we can determine exactly what style your old purse is, I can check Kathryn's consignment here in town and maybe find something similar. Can you take a picture of it and maybe give the dimensions? I'm thinking maybe it was a Lizzy.

I was hungry this evening and the cupboard was bare but I absolutely didn't want to go out for anything. So, scrounge time. There was a lone box of bow-tie pasta, a can of beans, an onion, and... SKYLINE CHILI. Voila!
I threw that together (I'd normally add grated cheese, but I was out of that, too!) and ate about double the typical restaurant serving. And it went down so well. And I liked the different pasta in place of spaghetti just fine. And my mouth is so happy.
And of course I washed it all down with a couple of cans of Vernors.
Bliss. Southwestern Ohio Bliss.
-
DR ChasSmith, all you need is some Graeter's ice cream for dessert!
-
ChasSmith, my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail.
-
Skyline sounds divine.
-
Nice "Man Cave," DR Jane!
Thanks. He often jokes that his office was the Man Cave. He had to have that sign when we saw it at the local growers market :)
-
Thank you DR Ginny. I will see what I can do tomorrow.

Over yesterday and today, I ordered several thousands of dollars of replacement videos from Amazon.com. Most were out of print, so our regular distributors didn't have them, anymore. AND a lot of them were much cheaper than if our regular distributors had them, anyway...which is a very good thing.
-
That's what I've been doing for the last couple of days at work. :)
-
And now, it's time for me to go home. I have some laundry and TV watching to do.
Be back later!

Jane, very nice photos. It's all so clean. I wish my house were that clean.
-
Been bummed out for the last day because I heard that a woman in my bell choir, whose bells I played the other day, died unexpectedly. She had gone in to the hospital for a breast cancer treatment, which none of us knew she was experiencing. She emailed the director that during the surgery, the doctor nicked something he shouldn't have, causing a lot of bleeding and that she would be out for a little while longer than she had thought. I don't know if that caused her death eventually, but it's all a little too much to absorb.
She's the second person from church to die in the past week, and both were younger than me.
-
Anyway, that's all from me.
Must get to bed.
Good night, all.

Yes it is I - the new and improved Jrand65!
My senior picture is now my avatar!

That was a very sad and shocking story DR JOHN G. Condolences to you and the family of your friend.

Page five? Really?
-
Back from a good rehearsal (running stuff and then a complete run-through), and then a jog, and now some light snacks.
-
Jane, very nice photos. It's all so clean. I wish my house were that clean.
Funny. I live with a very orderly person who doesn't have hours of yardwork to do everyday.
-
I messed up my office today. I will have to finish what I'm working on tomorrow and make it neat again.

Yes it is. My condolences as well.

You are looking very distinguished Jack.

Both and then some...they were all older DVDs where all the copies were lost or stolen or broken or just old.

Well, after I got home, I started to go through my garage to look for the PBS production of "A Little Night Music," so that I could make a DVD for TCB.
-
I went through all of the boxes with VHS tapes and couldn't find it...but I know that I have it somewhere.
-
While looking for that particular tape, I found a whole bunch of videotapes of shows that I was in.
-
I brought them all in and will decide if I want to transfer any to DVD.
-
One that I probably will is the very first show that I ever performed in here in Olympia: "Man of La Mancha" from December, 1989. I was in the chorus...one of the muleteers.
-
I don't know if any of the tapes are still good, but I'll certainly check out a few of them.
-
I also found the other production of "Man of La Mancha," where I played Sancho Panza!
-
Anyway, I looked at my shelves here in my TV room and actually saw that the videotape of "A Little Night Music" was there all along!
-
So, that's the first thing that I'll record to my DVD burner (assuming that the tape is still okay).
-
However, unlike recording a program from my DVR to my DVD burner, I can't record a VHS tape while I'm sleeping.
-
The VCR is in my bedroom and it's too damn loud to sleep through, and when it rewinds at the end of the tape, there's a much louder whistle-like sound as it's rewinding. One CANNOT sleep through that at all, and it's just too loud in general for night time recording, anyway.
