Well, you've read the notes, the notes had decisions and decisions, and now it is time for you to post until the decisive cows come home.

Well, there was rain last night during the outdoor movies, but not enough for anyone to leave or to stop the movies!  It also never got too cold, so it turned out to to be a fun time for all!  "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is still a great movie.  I'd remembered most if it.  It really is a simple story told well.

It's an outdoor theater (another outdoor event!).  From what I remember, the concert will happen rain or shine.  The performers are covered, but the audience isn't.  It'll be an adventure!

Research, pondering and instincts are my decision-making tools.  Then, when I'm ready, I feel the fear, but do it anyway.

I don't recall who first used that last phrase, but I love it.

Today is a family reunion on my mother's side.  I will get to see a lot of cousins I usually only see at funerals.

I am taking my camera to get photographic evidence that we are all still alive.

Of eight children in my mother's family.....four are still living:  two brother and two sisters (including mother) - and I think they will all be there.

We can't leave my dad alone too long....my brother in law is coming to sit with him....my mom says half an hour.....but I bet she stays longer.

If the decision involves something I am in charge of.....I am quick and then I move on....

If it involves convincing stupid people of their stupidity, sometimes I just forget it....and move on myself....

That's about the same process for me.  It all depends on what the decision is about.

TOD:

I tend to make decisions and act on them very quickly. If I make a decision too slowly, I call that procrastinating, which never does me any good. I don't always make the right decision, as I've certainly ignored some red flags, but it's not because I made those decisions too quickly. There were times when I should have gone with my instincts, but didn't. Certainly age and experience has been the biggest factor in helping me make better decisions. All my worst decisions were made in my 20s. For instance, I moved in with a roommate who was a terrible roommate. All the warning signs and red flags were there. I saw where she was living and saw she was a huge slob. I also saw that she had no money for first and last month's rent. But I moved in with her anyway. As I should have known all along, she not only rarely had money to pay the rent, but she rarely had money to pay utility bills either. She could never keep a job and was broke most of the time. If I didn't buy groceries, she would have starved. That bad decision ended up costing me about $1,500. But because of all the good decisions I had made, money has never been an issue for me and I didn't really miss the $1,500, even in my 20's.

Not taken by quick fingers then.  When we travel we try to wear clothing with zipper pockets and I wear a purse around my waist with the important stuff in it.  Sometimes I don't transfer everything until after we are inside the airport.  I think maybe I should transfer it sooner.

I've spent the day working on the short score for one of the two numbers I'm doing for this recording.  I wrote in all the vocal and bass parts and that took all afternoon. On Tuesday, I'll go to the studio to hear the back boys record their tracks and make notes on my short score about changes to the vocal writing and things i hear in the rhythm track.

Tomorrow, I'll finish putting in the lyrics and lay out the score for the second number.

DR Vixmom glad everything worked out. But i am curious why if you cancelled all of Vixdad's credit cards why he couldn't still board the flight? I am guessing that he still had his tickets and his passport? And you could have lent him your ATM for money.

No he had his passport and green card in a case around his neck, those enhanced licenses are only acceptable for car travel not air travel but he needed to rent a car in Vpcanada and tryouts can't rent a car if you don't have a drivers license

I'm guessing he has a driver's license that lets you travel between the US & Canada vs a passport.

Thanks for explaining.

I could never find my way around Long Island

it's pretty easy there's 5 main roads running from East (Montauk Point , furthest east point of the island graced with a light house. President George Washington authorized the building of the lighthouse)
to west where you have to take a bridge or tunnel to get over the  Long Island Sound and hop over to the Island of Manhattan

If you go north or south  too far you hit water - it is a long and skinny island

Before, three of us went to dinner at a fairly good Thai restaurant. We explained the short time window that we had and they proceeded to make the dinner last about 45 minutes longer than it should have. Service was so bad that we will never return, no matter how good the food is. There are too many other good options in the vicinity.

Back when I was a restaurant critic (and the newspaper was paying for my meals), I would have laughed at people getting that upset by service.

Now that I pay my own meals, I realize why people are the way they are.
