Well, you've read the notes, the notes were together again again, and now it is time for you to post until the together again again cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HELIX!
-
And a happy haineshisway.com to occasional dropper inner, Swishy Sarah!
-
First post after BK..... again!
-
Happy birthday to Swishy Sarah!
-
Fascinating notes and TOD -
the things I think of for the TOD, though, in terms of artistic work, seem to be situations where I have the knowledge these days from having seen the result and also to an extent from having gotten the reviews.
-
Good morning, all.
Got up earlier than I really wanted to, just to avoid more of the stupid, distracting dreams I'd been having.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
-
Yes, fascinating notes. Probably some fascinating rhythm, too, but I wasn't awake enough to appreciate it.
-
Happy birthday, Swishy Sarah!

TOD:
I try not to read stuff I wrote years ago. I don't often recognize who that writer was. Plus, in the world of journalism, you would often write just to fill space, which is word processing. But I have many of those papers waiting for the time I ever want to go back to them.
It's too early to re-read the books. I still know some of that writing too intimately.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
I'll go along with that!
-
Really enjoyed reading today's notes. It is difficult to be that self-analytical sometimes!
-
Good morning, all! My back and side continue to be a problem. I got sporadic sleep last night, so i will not be going to Columbia this morning, I wanted to stay in bed longer, but I am now up and moving about.
-
I will have to reread today's notes after I have had some more coffee. I was getting a little confused.
-
I had a strange dream about moving into an apartment with a bad vibe, and it seemed to be a suite withseparate spaces and communal rooms. Then someone was butchered. Blood everywhere.
-
I don't think the dream ever uncovered the killer.
-

~~~~~ Feel better vibes for DR elmore! ~~~~~
-
Hope the day gets better, Larry!
-
TOD:
Too many to list.
-
Monday morning greetings! Yesterday's party at Deborah's was delightful. She provided beverages and dessert and asked everyone else to bring a salad or appetizer. The food was amazing and her women friends from her various circles make for very interesting conversations. Deb does this frequently around her birthday, but insisted this year that it was NOT a birthday party. We sang to her anyway.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
Beat me to it.
But everyone has it from me too
-
Great notes
Very informative.
-
DR ELMORE perhaps your dream was triggered by the passing of Wes Craven.
-
Lovely notes.....
I watch DVD's of different performances of mine from time to time......there are always things I wish I had done differently.....and very few please me to any extent.
I like watching shows I have directed on DVD more than I like to watch myself.
-
Possible.
I admired him and the news last night was sad. I thought it might have to do with my pre-lecture anxieties.
If I ever taught an arranging/orchestration class, there would be some time spent listening to my many failures and discussing what the students and I feel were wrong decisions and what better choices could be made.
-
Good morning. A stay-at-home day today.
Odd morning. Let's turn the page on it.
-
Page Two!
-
I got seven hours of sleep and have been up since nine, but haven't been off the phone until now. Helper is here and then I'll go eat.
-
Definitely an odd morning.
A Very Happy Birthday to (former) DR §wishy §arah!! :D
Just spent a couple of damned hours pressure-washing the vinyl siding on the front side of the house -- which is the "cold", shady side we get the green mold on if not washed every year or so. And, trust me, that last year or so went by fast. But this was also in preparation for the man who's going to paint the front door starting on Wednesday. He told me to hit the door and the frame, to take away any more paint that was already peeling off. It'll give him a slight head start on Wednesday when he does the sanding and the prep.
Anyhoo, what a wet, messy job, but things look a hell of a lot better now -- everything, that is, except yrs truly. Time for a shower and clean clothes. And then some food. And then keyboard work the rest of the day.
-
Have been listening to John Waters read his latest, "Car Sick," while driving around. It's really very funny, but a little John Waters goes a long way. Don't know that I'd want this book, even with as much as I've been laughing at it, for a long car drive.
I enjoyed cleaning my house in Florida that way. Was really surprised at how effective it was.
Stop them presses. Tina Landau is directing a musical version of Spongebob.
-
I've nearly finished the one orchestration, which I want to accomplish this afternoon so I can photocopy the score for tomorrow night's session.
-
What I want to learn from Swishy Sarah is whether or not she still has her swishy purple shorts!
-
I reported for jury duty at 8:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m., my name was part of a roll call that would return at 1:45 a.m. The courtoom for my group was not ready.
My boss was at the same jury assembly and he was called for a third group and remains at the courthouse pending...
This is also a VERY busy week at work and no one can cover the things only I must do. So...early in and late out, I suppose.
Oh, no...not again. Blood Moon Prophecy: Christians Predict End Of The World On Lunar Eclipse (http://www.foodworldnews.com/articles/34902/20150831/blood-moon-christians-predict-end-of-the-world-on-lunar-eclipse.htm).
The pool had a good number of branches and leaves in it. They were all at the bottom of the pool and didn't interfere with my swim.
LOL poor kitty!
-
I have worked on my lines, finished the lobby poster to advertise the 2016 season, and put on my hair in anticipation of a dress rehearsal.
DR GEORGE - if the world could end a couple of weeks earlier, it would really save me a lot of driving.
-
Tonight is photo night, so I should have some photographic evidence of said hair....if it survives the rigors of Act One - Scene One and Act Two - Scene One.....I may seriously think about wearing it in the show.
-
I am hoping that I have the promised new vest and that my trousers have been hemmed.....but it may be TOO much to ask.
The costumer has decided that ANOTHER character will also wear tails...although he is in black tie and I am in white tie.....I suggested a white dinner jacket for him and a regular tuxedo for the third gentleman.....I haven't seen what the third gentleman is wearing, but it wouldn't surprise me if he isn't in blue tails.
-
I hope the world ends before this lecture so I can stop thinking about it. I think everyone I know in the Middletown area is coming to watch me crash and burn.
Well, I know two Middletown people who'll be there to cheer you on. And with that, who cares about the rest? Right, Ginny?
-
Page two? Really?
-
REALLY?
-
Had a breakfast burrito (egg, tiny amount of cheese if any and onion) then picked up one package. Have been on the phone or typing ever since. Rehearsal in ten minutes, at least I think it's in ten minutes.
-
My check arrived. That was a good thing.
-
DR John G, thanks for the tip about John Waters' new book.
-
I finished my score. Tomorrow, when I return from Columbia, I will photocopy it. I have no idea exactly where i am going for tomorrow's reecording. The studio is in Soho, so I think I will leave around 4:30.
-
Tonight, I've got some Midsomer Murders mysteries to watch.
-
No word from Joshie about
The Weir
at the Irish Rep. I meant to call him today and got completely caught up in this Cy Coleman song.
Yes, just focus on those two people. I'm sure you will do well.
-
My check arrived. That was a good thing.
:)
-
Page Three?
-
I can barely stay awake and I need to do paperwork and make calls.
-
-
My work is done.
-
And now, what's for dinner?
-
Today, I just received from Amazon.com the original Fürth cast recording of next to normal (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Next-to-Normal-2013-Original-Furth-Cast/28039), starring Pia Douwes.
-
Two weeks ago tomorrow, I received the original Vienna cast recording of Der Besuch Der Alten Dame (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Der-Besuch-Der-Alten-Dame-2014-Original-Vienna-Cast/27965), also starring Pia Douwes. :)
-
The thing is, I ordered them from Amazon at the same time AND from the same seller, but they came two weeks apart. :P
But, as long as I get them, it's all okay.
-
Right!
-
Happy Birthday to Sarah!
-
Keith is trying to figure out why I keep losing the internet connection on my laptop. My Nook is working ok.
-
And now, what's for dinner?
Well, I just tested the smoke alarm broiled bacon-wrapped filets. We also had baked potatoes and a nice garden salad.
-
Well, I must be going. Theater Artists Olympia is having a fund raising meeting, and since I'm the treasurer, I probably should be there.
Be back later.
-
I've tested mine on many an occasion, DR Ginny.
At least we know it works...
-
And now, what's for dinner?
Well, I just tested the smoke alarm
;D
Is the alarm in your kitchen? Now they are usually placed away from the oven, a bit outside of the kitchen.
-
Well, it turns out that the meeting wasn't the fundraising committee, but the publicity committee.
-
I wasn't really supposed to be part of the publicity committee, but it turns out that it was a good thing that I was here.
-
I also wasn't planning on staying for the rehearsal of "The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!!" which is just about to start.
-
But they wanted someone to run the sound for the rehearsal, so I'm staying.
-
It's not in the kitchen, but in the hall between the downstairs bedrooms not far from the entry to the kitchen. It would probably have been OK if the windows had been open, but we had to close up and start using the AC again when it began to get humid on Saturday.
-
And now, they're starting the opening number!
-
The accompaniment is prerecorded, which is how we did it last year, but it's a new recording, which is good.
-
But they didn't listen to the rhythm, which is not good.
-
They will...eventually.
-
We gor through the first few scenes, and we've had a break.
-
Now, back to act one.
-
And now...
-
...since we're so close...
-
4OUR!!
-
Is anybody there?
-
...to quote John Adams.
-
Once upon a time....
-
There was a lonely solo poster.
-
He arrived at the Land of Page Two
-
But there was no one there to help him.
-
So he put on the magic ring......
-
That he removed from the bathtub of life.
-
So he started off alone......
-
Wondering where his co-fighters had gone.
-
Where was Cilla?
-
We are now done with act one, and are done for the evening.
-
Where was SloppyJoe?
-
Now, I'm going home.
-
But first, I need to feed.
-
Where was the Vixter's Mama?
-
Be back later...and hopefully, more posts will be posted. ::)
-
Where was George the Lionhearted?
-
Today, I just received from Amazon.com the original Fürth cast recording of next to normal (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Next-to-Normal-2013-Original-Furth-Cast/28039), starring Pia Douwes.
-
Okay, so we found him.
-
But they didn't listen to the rhythm, which is not good.
Sounds like my dancing at times.
-
Or rather he found us.
-
Is my brain going on me?
-
What show is George doing now??
-
Details after he feeds.
-
Is my brain going on me?
I haven't had one in so long that I have no idea.
-
I need to go back to reading page two.
-
Started watching Carlos Saura's Flamenco Flamenco. I love his dance/music movies. His film on Portugese fados was wonderful. His movie on tangos also great. But only if you want to watch dancing. There's no plot, just one song after another.
-
I just saw on youtube that the whole movie of Flamenco Flamenco is online, in case anyone wants to watch it:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plRZarZj6JE
-
Five!
-
How are you, Master Tom?
-
Be back later...and hopefully, more posts will be posted. ::)
More posts have been posted! Hoo and Ray!
;)
-
And I am now home.
-
How are you, Master Tom?
I'm getting by, John. How are you doing?
-
Tired, Tom, but better since I switched allergy meds. At least for now.
-
And how is it?
Well, I only was able to listen to the first half or so of the first disc, but there are some really good singers on it. I can hear the expressions in their voices, even if I don't understand what they're specifically singing. I have the OBCR, and have seen a very good local production, so I have a pretty good idea of what's happening. So far, I really like it.
-
Even though it is still August, I am glad we are having some rain.
-
I still can't believe that the big storm missed my place entirely.
-
You could send some rain this way. We need it.
-
I need to get to bed.
Good night, all.
-
The video on the news is amazing.
-
You could send some rain this way. We need it.
If I only had some to share.
-
What show is George doing now??
Theater Artists Olympia is remounting a revised version of their original musical, "The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!!"
-
The actors had a planned rehearsal tonight after the publicity committee meeting that I went to. I was asked if I would be able to stay tonight to play the audio tracks so that they wouldn't have to wait while someone in the cast went up to the tech deck each time a song needed to be played.
-
I really didn't have anything better to do, so I stayed.
-
I really didn't have anything better to do, so I stayed.
You had TV to watch and food to eat.
-
Somebody posted the entire Nudie Musical film on You Tube two days ago - I just submitted a rights' holder takedown notice.
-
I went over to the theater to say hi to my set guys and see how they were doing, and they were doing fine. The previous show left the heavy upright piano ON stage - those jerks. So the three of us got it moved off stage - not as simple as it sounds because at the rear of the stage is a second level and we had to get it on to that level - ridiculous.
-
DR George did you like how Falling Skies ended?
-
I really didn't have anything better to do, so I stayed.
You had TV to watch and food to eat.
True, but it wasn't absolutely imperative that I watched TV right at that time, so it was okay that I waited. :)
-
DR George did you like how Falling Skies ended?
I figured that it would end like that...just not so easily. There really wasn't much of a struggle with the queen and to me the device worked too quickly. But that's just my opinion.
-
Otherwise, I did enjoy it.
-
Wait...have you seen the episode, yet?
-
Did I just ruin the ending for you?? :o
-
Did I just ruin the ending for you?? :o
You just ruined it for me.
-
Did I just ruin the ending for you?? :o
You just ruined it for me.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
-
Did I just ruin the ending for you?? :o
You just ruined it for me.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Yeah, I mean, some day when I am totally fed up with every single television show, every film DVD, and every book ever published. If that happens, I might break down and watch whatever the hell you said the name of this show you mentioned. Maybe!!
