Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written in September and had years, and now it is time for you to post until the September cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ACCISMUS!
-
First post after BK (I have no life)!!
-
MY LIFE - The Musical!
-
First post after TCB!
-
Wonderful to read in the notes that ryacko's rendition of the "Time and Again" medley is getting a reprise performance!!
-
September andi never made into the beach once this summer...
-
Understanding that I live On an island and there are a plethora of beaches in all directions
-
I hate my job
-
I tried to come here last night but I was so absolutely exhausted I fell asleep while trying to catchup
-
Good morning, all!
I was wide awake at 5:45AM, so I got out of bed.
-
I will leave here around 8:15, go to Staples and photocopy this score, and then head up to Columbia.
-
No weird dreams that I can remember and no news.
-
What has become of DR cillaliz?
-
Good morning, all.
Trying to bring my dream into focus. Not that it matters.
-
Today is all keyboard work.
-
No pressure washing. No fertilizing. No snow blowing. No nothin'. Just ass on bench.
-
I guess if Hadley Miller is 11 years old now, she shouldn't be "Little Hadley Miller" anymore. Maybe Dainty Hadley Miller?

I hate when smoke alarms go off when I cook. When I cook at my sister's house often it will go off just taking something out of the oven. And it usually goes off when i cook something on the stove. :(
-
George, no worries regarding Falling Skies. I asked because we were curious since we decided not to watch it. It is interesting how close to the end of the series that we gave up on it. Did any of the main charactors get killed off or did they all make it? Nevermind, I will do a bit of research so you don't spoil anything for TCB ;)
-
Yes, it is officially September, but we still have another 6 weeks or so of August left. In Phoenix anyway.
-
Jennifer I think your sister needs a new smoke alarm.
-
Job vibes for Vixmom & elmore, less work for Vixmom and more work for elmore!
-
Who left this damned thing here?

Good morning from Costco. Just had my eyes dilated.
-
Dress rehearsal was fine.....although the costumes are troublesome in some areas....and my wearing a white toupee really looks weird next to my white haired mother.....so I may try something different tonight.
-
Jennifer I think your sister needs a new smoke alarm.
Well at least it will work if there is a fire. :)
I think it's too close to the kitchen. It is right outside the kitchen in the hall (but right by the kitchen door).
-
Does anyone know what to do for a sore thumb (like "texting thumb"). My right thumb has been hurting. I can't believe how much you need your right thumb (cutting, opening water bottles...).
I have it wrapped. I have iced it.
-
I just discovered there is a Trader Vic's in Portland. The last time we ate at the one in Beverly Hills was the night after my sister's funeral and I got high on their Mai Tais.
I miss the food almost as much as I miss the Mai Tais which very few places make correctly. Friday night I had one that was so bad I returned it.
We will get to the one in Portland though the food menu looks a bit different.
-
Howdy, folks. Sandwich break.
-
Happy 10th Birthday to our crazy Romanian Grand dog Yogi!

Today would also have been Keith's parent's 75 anniversary. I'm sorry they didn't have more years together.
-
Good morning from Costco. Just had my eyes dilated.
At Costco?
-
And I am home from Columbia and market.

I know a couple of people who get their glasses at Costco.

I hate when smoke alarms go off when I cook. When I cook at my sister's house often it will go off just taking something out of the oven. And it usually goes off when i cook something on the stove. :(
Before I permanently took out the battery of the smoke alarm on my first floor (which was just outside my kitchen), I would have to take it off the ceiling and open the battery compartment any time I cooked anything. No matter what it was, the smoke alarm would go off, so I just took it down. I figure if anything happens, the smoke alarms on my upper floors will detect the smoke and wake me.
-
But a lotta good it would actually do. I sleep at the top of my three-story townhouse, so if there's any kind of fire, I really won't be able to get out, at all. :-\

At Costco?
Yup. I get my eyes checked at their clinic.
-
Twitchy day.
-
Marion Cotillard as Lady MacBeth with Muchael Fassbender as her husband. Now that's a movie I want to see.
-
The worst actress in the world is dressed as.....well.....Harpo Marx......I may be able to post a not so hot cast pic.
Hang on.
-
This may not work....if you're lucky.

Got eight-and-a-half hours of sleep, then had to write answers to a Q&A for Welcome to My World, then had to go eat (turkey sandwich) and am now back. I'm going to the theater at three.
-
The Theater at Three is the title of the second volume of my memoirs.
-
And I am off to the Soho. God alone knows if there's an easy route to this address.
-
But a lotta good it would actually do. I sleep at the top of my three-story townhouse, so if there's any kind of fire, I really won't be able to get out, at all. :-\
A good reason to have a smoke alarm downstairs to wake you faster than waiting for the smoke to reach you in your bedroom.

I agree with DR George.

I don't even text which is the funny part. I am trying to rest it. But i use my right thumb for so much. It is so hard not to use it at all.

And she is right behind you, watch out ;}

Try doing things left handed, including typing.

I almost forgot...here are the pictures that I took of Randy Newman:
This was my view. The empty chairs in front of the two guys in front of me were never filled. I could see perfectly!
-
Here he is again, zoomed in a bit:

And this was the zoomiest that I could get:

And here's the stage from the concessions area:

-
You had a great view.
-
You can see how much room they have to hold more people, if necessary, which it wasn't this time.
-
Our kitchen was almost completed this afternoon. The contractor has to tweak the last part again.
-
You had a great view.
We did!
-
But I've seen concerts from up in the field and that's fun, too.
-
When we purchased the condo it came with a built in coffee/espresso/latte machine. Since it was old and Keith's fancy coffee system is better, we pulled out the old coffee maker. The contractor designed and build a pull out shelf with 3 sides finished, and a leaded glass pull down front to it.
It is the fit of the pull down door that needs tweaking. Just having all the wood in place, vs an unfinished white shelf, it looks 100% better.
-
But I've seen concerts from up in the field and that's fun, too.
We used to go the the Britt Festivals in Jacksonville, about 45 minutes from our Ashland home, that were nice. We only sat in the seats a few times, mostly we were on the lawn.
-
The contractor is on his way here. I hope whatever he did to the door solved the problem.
-
We really lucked out finding this contractor, plus he has the best temperament of any contractor we have worked with.
-
Back to the humidity and temps in the 90's.
-
Congrats on your kitchen being almost finished,DR Jane!
-
DR Ginny do you recommend I read 'The Other Daughter'?
-
Congrats on your kitchen being almost finished,DR Jane!
Thank you. He returned with the adjusted door and it looks beautiful.
-
DR Ginny do you recommend I read 'The Other Daughter'?
I listened to it and enjoyed it. Kind of predictable, but entertaining.
-
And i am home from the session, which was fun. the B train at 81st and Central Park West takes me neary to the door. I have to walk a couple of blocks to reach my destination.
And to bed.
-

Thanks. I will see if one of my libraries has it.

My new library has it.

That's great! Very good news!

Tuesday evening greetings! I went to Dayton today for lunch with the grantwriters, a group I hadn't seen since May. We had a lot of catching up to do. Then I had an appointment at a medical supply place to be fitted for the compression stockings that were prescribed for the venous insufficiency in my legs. This is a company I'd driven past every day on my way to and from work for 11 years and never thought I'd patronize. The hose are not attractive, but I have to admit my legs feel better when I'm wearing them...
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work. So, I'm leaving work.
Be back later.
-
I have absolutely nothing of note to report.
-
It has been a busy two days, and with the start of the program year for churches, temples, and schools, things are about to get pretty crazy.
-
Plus, we are gearing up for the start of insurance open enrollment on November 1.
-
My boss, who is the best person I have ever had the good fortune to work for, has announced he is leaving for another job (outside our company). That transition is also imminent.
-
Ain't that always the way DR SINGDAW?
-
Good news from DR JANE.....good news from DR ELMORE
-
I have three costumes......1 of them fits......
-

Bummer. But I hope you get an even better supervisor.
-

Those odds are good in baseball. :)
-
Loved the pictures, George and JRand.
-
Where has Cillaliz been lately?
-
I hope Vixmom had an easy day at work.
-
I hope Jane's kitchen turns out beautifully, though I'm sure it will.
-
Would someone please come and clean my kitchen.
-
It would one take a week or two.
-
Four!
-
Four?
-
Four.
-
Four score and thirteen posts.
-
Anything to keep me from my work.
-
I don't feel like writing tonight.
-
Watching the end of Flamenco Flamenco. The music is actually more of the attraction than the dancing in this one, though the dancing is wonderful.
-
Hello, no one. There ain't no guests.
-
Whither everyone?
-
I'm withering on the vine.
-
Gratuitous Post No. 100.
-
Cranberries.
-
Underpants.
-
And that concludes my performance in French.
-
If the costume fits...
-
Fitz.
-
The title of today's notes makes me think, for some reason, of Sinatra's recording of "It Was A Very Good Year."

Try not using your right thumb. I never realized how many things require it (turning on the car, holding a glass, opening the shower, turning a faucet to wash your hands, putting butter on toast.... the list is so huge). I do use it a lot with my kindle. The thumb is the only comfortable finger. But i can use my left vs my right. But i can't cut things with my left hand at all.

Good morning from Costco. Just had my eyes dilated.
The vixter, Vixdad and I have for years. Vixter gets her contacts there as well. And my mom got her hearing aids there
At Costco?
I know a couple of people who get their glasses at Costco.
-
And I am home form work a mere 15 hours later
-
I am going on vacation soon
-
I may never come back
-
What has become of DR cillaliz?
She took herself to the ball game
Took herself to the park
Bought herself peanuts and crackerjack
Loved it so much she forgot to come back
-
Page four? Really?
-
Back from a very good and fun run-through.
-
No jog tonight - need one night off a week from the jog.
-
Having a little seafood salad from Gelson's - then some melon balls.
-
Been watching the DVD of Hair. I haven't seen this since high school. Forgot how much I really enjoyed it. The dancing just energizes this movie.
-
But I need to get to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
My boss, who is the best person I have ever had the good fortune to work for, has announced he is leaving for another job (outside our company). That transition is also imminent.
That's too bad, Singdaw. My condolences. Hopefully, you'll get a new boss who is at least as good as the boss who's leaving.
-
Loved the pictures, George and JRand.
Thanks, John!

A friend of mine posted this on FB: What Works & What Doesn't: 'Chinatown' (https://litreactor.com/columns/what-works-what-doesnt-chinatown).
Discuss.
-
I've only seen it once, a couple of years ago, so I don't really know the movie well enough to discuss.
-
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
;)
-
I never saw it.
-
Did Vixmom fall asleep?
-
Did George fall asleep?
-
Did I fall asleep?
-
I wonder what town is half way between Tumwater and Vancouver?
-
Did George fall asleep?
No. I'm balancing my checkbook.
-
:P
-
I thought that I saw a pussy cat!
-
I did, I did.
-
I wonder what town is half way between Tumwater and Vancouver?
Everett? Mount Vernon? Sedro Wooley? Arlington?
-
I can't believe it is September.
-
I will probably say the same thing about October next month.
-

I was thinking of Vancouver, Washington.
-
I don't know anyone who lives in Vancouver, Canada.

A fastidious good evening to our guests.
-

Sorry. Vibes his replacement is equally good.
-
G'night!

Good news from DR JANE.....good news from DR ELMORE
Thanks. We are relieved too. What would we have said or done if we didn't like it. He put a lot of time, thought, and work creating this for us.

By now you know it did ;D

Lol Jennifer. You are talking to someone who loist the use of their entire right arm and hand for a very long time. I completely understand the difficulties. In fact, if we go out to eat and the table is too high I still have trouble using a knife.

A couple a month, and my debit card. I have to keep track of my debit card usage...it's just like writing checks, as far as my money is concerned.

I don't know anyone who lives in Vancouver, Canada.
;D

DR Ginny thank you for finding the purse I want. I will order it tomorrow.

Re the Chinatown article. Written by a youngster - you know you're in trouble when his "expertise" comes from the teachings of Robert McKee who, with Syd Field, has done more harm to screenwriting than is imaginable. Once he begins quoting from McKee he is done and no one but an idiot his age can read anymore of it. Then to imply that Towne was following McKee's "rules" when McKee hadn't even written his books, is the stupidest thing of all. Kids today - everyone's an expert.
-
I did the jog anyway.
-
Good evening. What a long day today was!
-
We had a really big storm last night. My house is ok, but there are quite a few trees down around my neighborhood -- and a LOT around town.
-

Yikes!! :o
Good news about your house!
-
Well, my checkbook has been balanced.
-
Sadly, no extra money turned up...just what was expected.
