Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 61, and now it is time for you to post until the sixty-one cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AFEBRILE!
-
First post after BK!
-
How did we manage to do (post-wise) in seven hours, what we usually do in 24 hours??
-
I think that Vixmom's scary story helped with the count.
-
Thank goodness it had a happy ending.
-
My first thought on the topic of the day was Singdaw!
-
Post modified.
;)
-
Congrats to BK and the Cast of the latest Kritzerland Success!! :D
-
Well, even though I have the day off from work today, I don't have the day off. Every Labor Day, the local Labor Council holds a picnic for union members and this year, I volunteered to help (we always do the cooking). This year (every year?) it's held at Stan Hedwall Park park in Chehalis, which is about 25 miles south of where I live, so I have to get up early enough to get there early enough so that I will actually be there on time, which is officially at 11:30 am.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning I have the day off ,so why am I awake?
-
Must get sleep
-
Great to hear the show went so well last night!!!
-
And for BK, on to the next show!!!
-
Now, to try to catch up on old posts I'd missed.
-
Glad to see Cilla back!
-
More healthy vibes to vixmom.
-
Wonderful to read Laura's happy family news
-
Aw, shucks, DR TCB! :) :-*
-
Thanks. I think. :)
-
Glad to read how great the Kritzerland show went.
-
Today is the last day of the State Fair. I won't be going again - I really don't like the big crowds.
-
~ ~ ~ SLEEP VIBES ~ ~ ~ for DR vixmom!
-
Good morning, all.
Wouldn't have minded sleeping in a bit, like yesterday (which I didn't get to report), but the dreams were getting so crazy it's just as well I'm up.
-
I mean, testing out an airplane engine in a small apartment and finding gasoline running all over the place is a bit much now, don't you think?
-
I am not going to the fair today.
-
Possibly because there is no fair.
But I wouldn't go anyway.
-
NYC's first new subway station in 26 years opens this week. Hudson Yards will be the city's 469th station. And within walking distance of the Javits convention center.
-
I am not going to the fair today.
That's always best; then you can't stay too long (at the fair).
-
Good morning, all! I wanted to sleep later, but it would screw up the rest of my week. I did sleep rather well last night, so that was good.
-
Are we STILL on Page One?
-
No. We are not.
-
TOD:
Cashew nuts.
-
Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow I am going to the doctor and I'm hoping that he will let me ditch my Frankenstein-like boot.
-
I have to do some tidying since I expect company around noon. SDR Ben and Anthony are coming by to pick up a recording and visit for a bit.
-
I've got some work here today. I'd like to finish the score layout for "I've Got To Get Back To New York." Most of my week will be tied up with transferring my notes on Moross orchestration from my score of Gentlemen, Be Seated! to the score for the copyist. I'd like to get that mailed to him by the end of September.
-
I'd like to finish the recording job before I leave for Ohio as well.
-
DR vixmom, I am very happy that you are okay.
You must stop these desperate bids for attention. You know we love you,
-
Wellididgeta little more sleep but it appears that I am now up
-
DR cillaliz, I'm so happy to see you back. I am happy that you're having a great time at the ball park.
-
Congratulations the great Kritzerland anniversary show , BK!
-
It is good to heR that Sami's show is coming together so well
-
Thank younallfor the vibes I must stop running on caffeine and four hours of sleep
-
And maybe cut my work hours down to say 10 a day
-
Happy Labor Day!
-
TOD: Cashews (unsalted or lightly salted)
-
Candied pecans, peanuts any way they come, in the shell, out if the shell, salted, unsalted, raw, boiled, in Thai peanut sauce, crushed on ice cream, peanut butter...., almonds,

-
Congratulations the great Kritzerland anniversary show , BK!
Ditto!
Yep! I had left that off my posts in my rush for coffee
-
Excellent picture in the notes today, and congrats on a great 61st!
-
Hard to believe it's Labor Day. Where is the year going?
Don't answer that.

Hard to believe it's Labor Day. Where is the year going?
Don't answer that.
This month is moving too fast for me!

Boot-kicking vibes for DR DRUXY.

I loved reading all about the show in the notes! Congrats to MR BK & Co.

TOD:
Almonds & cashews

Tonight.....on the hottest day of the year so far....is a full dress rehearsals - proceeded by newspaper publicity photos......which means we have to put on our Act One: Scene Two costumes first.....then go back and put on our Act One: Scene One costumes to start the rehearsal.....it's a long story.....
-
This made me laugh.

I can well imagine!

Yes, I always wished they had gotten Karloff to play the role in the first AMAHL telecast.

Congratulations on a successful show!

Congrats to singdaw on the 11,000 millstone!
-
Good morning, all.
Slept late and it felt wonderful.
-
Congratulations, Singdaw, on the milestone. And on being officially named a nut.
-
Congratulations, BK and company, on a great show. Would have loved to hear Darcie Roberts sing that Busker Alley song again. Any chance of a video coming?
-
TOD: Any and all. Bring 'em on.
-
Monday morning greetings! Today is Rob's birthday, so 30 years ago today was another kind of LABOR day for me...
-
Congrats to BK and the Cast of the latest Kritzerland Success!! :D
Ditto.

Missed y'all yesterday. We went to Lima early, did some errands on the way home, and I slept for a couple of hours when we got here. By the time HHW was up and running, I was winding down for the night.
-
TOD:
I like almost all nuts. I think there's just one nut I don't like, but honestly I'm not sure what it is. The problem is if I'm eating a handful of mixed nuts, and put several in my mouth at once, I can't isolate what was the nut I didn't like so I can avoid it. I should just eat them one at a time.
I've been eating a quarter cup of raw almonds every M-F for a few years now to help my cholesterol. I prefer them roasted, but I believe raw is supposed to be healthier.
-
Glad to hear that Kritzerland 61 went so well - congratulations!
-
DR Vixmom, your episode sounds very scary and I'm glad it turned out OK. Have they recommended a cardiology work-up for you?
-
DR TCB did you have a busy day? I have forgotten to eat many times, usually because loads of "stuff" was happening.
-
Thanks, DR FJL and John G. - I hadn't even noticed!
-
Being a nut, that is. ;)
-
Fingers crossed.
Tomorrow I am going to the doctor and I'm hoping that he will let me ditch my Frankenstein-like boot.
Vibes and good luck you can ditch the boot! I am sure you are more than tired of it.
-
Thank younallfor the vibes I must stop running on caffeine and four hours of sleep
This could explain your trip to the ER.
-
DR Amy I usually avoid mixed nuts, not because I don't like the entire mix but because too often they include nuts I'm allergic to.
-
Very funny cartoon DR ELMORE.
Congrats to DR SINGDAW on his millstone.
Happy Birthday, Rob!
-
30th birthday wishes to Rob!

Last night's Krizterland show was fabulous! I know I haven't written about a show in a very long time and I'm sorry about that, but I'm always in a rush to get to work the next morning. But today is Labor Day, so I'm going to have a very relaxing day and maybe just do some yard work, which is desperately needed.
The accidental gift that Bruce referred to in his notes was that his voice went up kind of high unexpectedly and his inner Don Knots came out. And, as he said, he went with it and did several very funny Don Knots impersonations.
Often Bruce likes to ask "Who has been here before?" and "Who has never missed a show?" To the second question, there's only one person who can applaud and that's Adryan Russ, so there's really no point in asking the question because if there's someone who's been to every show and they're absent that night, then they've now missed a show, so... . It is always amusing though to hear Adryan clapping by herself, and I guess that's the point. :-)
The "What If" was very funny. I think it was longer than most, but wasn't too long at all. And you really didn't have to be all that familiar with "Pacific Overtures" or "Peter Pan" to enjoy it. You only needed to know what Bruce explained at the beginning about the plot of "Pacific Overtures". And if anyone in the audience doesn't know the plot of "Peter Pan"...well...then...you know. The funny thing was that I told Mark we should be listening to "Pacific Overtures" in the car on the way to the show, but we didn't have time to look for it. Instead, we had the "Stages/Together Again" CD in the car and we listened to that, which was also very good because we were familiar with those songs by the time we heard them in the show. Anyway, I am more impressed with Jenna Lea Rosen every time I see and hear her. Being Sondheim, the melody seemed complex and difficult, and she was so great with it. I'd like to see her in a show of her own sometime.
"The Dressing Song" has always been one of Mark's and my favorites from Michelle Nicastro's CDs. I couldn't imagine someone so young being able to pull off all those lyrics, but Hadley Miller was amazing. I walked past her after the show and told her how great she was and said "what a lot of words!" to which she rolled her eyes and exhaustingly said "Yes!"
Sharon McNight's "Haiku" was laugh-out-loud funny and Bruce mentioned that she picked the song herself, which was interesting. Jason Graae's "Mimi" was also hysterical.
"The Man I Love" is almost always done unbearably slowly, but this jazzed up version was soooo much more enjoyable. It's the first time I've ever really liked the song.
And everyone seemed to really enjoy "Note to Boys". Or at least Mark and I really like that song and the sign language goes so nicely with it. Bruce doesn't usually do a lot of his own material in a show, but with this song and the songs from "Stages", this Kritzerland show probably had more of Bruce's material than any other, which was fine by us. I really like quite a few songs from "Together Again" (now that I've finally heard it) and it would be nice to hear some of those songs in future shows as well. Note to Bruce.
-
Okay, I didn't realize how long that post was going to be until after I posted it. Sorry!
-
I enjoyed your long post.

Thanks for the on spot report DR AMY!

Thanks everybody for the thumb vibes.

I have tried everything. I have tried wrapping it. I have tried icing it. I have made a sling. And it felt good while it was in it. But then it was hurting a lot when i took the sling off.
I think i may be making it worse by biking, but i'm not willing to give that up. My new bike has different handlebars. So i don't need to grip it with my thumb on the other side of the handlebar. I thought by just keeping my thumb with my other fingers that it would not put pressure on it. But now i think it might be putting some pressure.

A lot of the mixed nut varieties have Brazil nuts, which I really don't like. My sister, however, loves them.
She can have them. :P

And now, I must hie myself to the hinterlands of Chehalis and the Labor Day picnic.
Have a great day, all!!

Does it feel better when you run warm water over it?
You might have to go to to the doctor if it doesn't get better, if only for a referral elsewhere or to be give a proper hand support for it.

Martin Milner has passed away. (http://variety.com/2015/film/news/martin-milner-dead-adam-12-route-66-1201587461/).
I always liked him.

DAMN. Sorry to hear that. :(

The McLaughlin-Morellis just left after a lovely visit. i can't think of a more fun and gossipy way to spend a holiday than a visit with them.

I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of glorious sleep.

Always enjoy reading about people's nuts.

And Amy's thoughts on the show.

The Little Toni's was less problematic, tummy-wise, than usual and I got through the night pretty well.

I don't remember if anyone's linked this yet, but the Filichia on Fridays that's up right now is particularly fun.

It's really cool to see the scenes in Garrison, New York -- my friends and I went there a few years ago.

Nice review.

Richard, Mary Linda, and I have just returned from the northern Dayton 'burbs where we attended my friend Sue's annual Labor Day pic-a-nic. Rob stayed home and slept because he worked 3rd shift last night and will do the same tonight.

I shall soon put my hair on and head to a photo call and dress rehearsal.

I thought it was a problem with my computer that I wasn't able to connect. Bummer!

Any chance there was a video of Sammy Williams doing Musical Comedy?
I always tried to visualize his dance moves. Can't believe it's been over 35 years.
One of my favorite musicals I have never seen!
-
This made me laugh.
Yes, I always wished they had gotten Karloff to play the role in the first AMAHL telecast.
Wouldn't he been too old to play Amahl? It's been 50 years or so since I saw it on TV so I could be wrong.

As for me I have been battling a kidney infection for the past five days. Waiting to hear back from test results. Since kidney disease runs in the family I am a little concerned.

MEGA HEALTHY KIDNEY VIBES FOR DR MICHAEL!
-
We all know, or I think we do, that peanuts are legumes and not really nuts. While munching on pistachio nuts I thought I would be clever and divide "nuts" into their proper name group.
Doing so turned out to be far more complicated than I expected. There are also seeds, drupes, and angiosperms, depending on which site I read.
-
angiosperms
Now there's a word we don't encounter every day,
Least of all on HainesHisWay!
-
I don't care for whole almonds all that much and sometimes they can still trigger a slight allergic reaction. As a child I spent many a miserable time drugged up on allergy meds and cold clothes on my eyes after accidentally touch an almond with my mouth.
I buy slivered almonds and toast them. I put them in salads, eat them whole, add them to baked foods and fudge this way.

angiosperms

Least of all on HainesHisWay!

I forgot to include fruit in the list.

~ ~ ~ VIBES OF RECOVERY AND WELLNESS ~ ~ ~ for DR Michael!!!

I like walnuts & cashews, especially cashews which must be roasted vs raw for me to eat.
-
There are a lot of great lines in the libretto for Hello, Dolly!
-
Peanuts, with or without chocolate. The same for macadamia nuts.
-
I mustn't forget toffee/chocolate covered almonds or macadamia nuts.

Tomorrow after work is the farewell party for my boss. We are doing a potluck in the office, but it has a theme: tacos! There will be all kinds of fixings, vegan and non-. There are other vegans and vegetarians on staff.

Spent a couple of hours at the theater with our lighting guy and stage manager. Cues that needed adjustments were adjusted, several lights were put up, which really help things, and we went through all the cues and all should be well.

Happy birthday to Rob.

The Labor Union picnic was fun. I helped the cookers (I didn't cook, myself), but at one point, I did help serve. They had hot dogs and hamburgers, watermelon, corn-on-the-cob, cole slaw, potato salad, sodas and ice cream. It was all quite delish!
-
There was also a big inflated castle with slides for the kids, of which there were quite a few.
-
When I had originally signed up to help, I didn't know if it was held every year, or if it was held at that place every time. I found out that it's in Lewis County on the odd years, and Thurston County on the even years, so next year it'll be closer to where I live.
-
And now I'm at home recording "The Playboy Jazz Festival, Part II" from VHS to my DVD burner (it's not copy-guarded!). Right now, The Manhattan Transfer are singing "Birdland" accompanied by the group that had written and performed the original instumental version, Weather Report!
-
I had set my DVD burner to record Part I when I left to go to the picnic. It turned out really well!

Drove out of town for lunch with friends to a place that I've been wanting to visit for years. It's been in business since 1929, first as a dance hall, then as a restaurant since the 1980s.
We got to Po Po's and I started to feel ill. I soon had no appetite, even for the burger that I had been craving for awhile.
When I got home, I discovered I was running a fever. Took some aspirin and have been sleeping off and on ever since.
-
I even missed dancing.

Hmm, didn't think of that. I'll go back and fix that question!

Happy Birthday DS Rob!
-
Thanks for the welcome back, FJL and Elmore.
-
I haven't felt that well today. I think it's the high humidity. I did mow the yard and got the laundry done.
-
You don't need to, DR FJL - I was just teasing.
-
I'm hoping we get some of the rain that's heading our way, maybe it would get the humidity out of the air
-
You have been missed Cilla!
-
Thanks Vixmom, glad you are ok!
-
Life has just been crazy busy. I'm still way behind at work and spending time with mom and dad Friday night and Saturday really drained me. I think if I was there all the time it may be easier that to see how they've failed since I was there last. It's very hard
-
DR John G. started feeling po-po at Po Po's.
;D
-
Thanks for the vibes. Am enjoying a filmed production of The Rivals tonight. It is about as light and frothy as I can pay attention to.
"We shall not anticipate the past," says the delicious Mrs. Malaprop.

I concur.

Sorry Cilla. You see them fairly often so it must be faster than you would expect.
-
Just realized if we win the semi final and make it to the championship series, I'll have to choose between an evening with Audra McDonald with the orchestra or the baseball game.....I didn't even have to think....baseball. A year or two ago the answer would have been completely different

I speak with them every day, but I haven't seen them since my surgery. I try to go once a month, but it's been a little less often than that. I really only speak with my mom on the phone, rarely to my dad, so he's the one who surprised me the most.

Feel better vibes to John G

I'm wiped out. need sleep. Night all

As for me I have been battling a kidney infection for the past five days. Waiting to hear back from test results. Since kidney disease runs in the family I am a little concerned.

Just got news that a family at church has been in a rollover that left the 42-year-old mother dead. Her husband who was driving apparently fell asleep at the wheel. Their daughter and an aunt were also in the car and sustained injuries. Really sad news.
