For years I thought I was the only non-Star Trek person in these United States of America. Only lately have I discovered that is not necessarily the case.

I sometimes feel I missed something of the camaraderie and joy of discovery experienced by the followers of the series and the movies, and I even occasionally entertain the idea of starting it now and seeing how far I might go with it. Or just satisfy my curiosity about what I missed. But there are so many things to spend one's time on, and choices must be made...

I enjoyed the series, but not as much as the summer replacement series, like Bobby Darin's variety show. I remember the kiss between Kirk and Uhuru, which I thought was not worth any sort of controversy at the time. But little else.

Favorite movie: Wrath of Khan.

I was too young to see the original series when it first aired. But I did enjoy the re-runs. I was a very big fan of Star Trek The Next Generation. I also watched some episodes of Deep Space Nine, but didn't really get into it. The pilot episode of DSN was excellent. I saw most of the movies and enjoyed them too. My favorite was the 4th, The Voyage Home. There were a couple really good TNG episodes. One of favorites was the one where Captain Picard goes to a planet where the inhabitants speak English, but you can't understand what they're saying because they speak only in allegories. It was very cleverly written.
I've seen George Takei in a number of things and I like the way he's so great about making fun of himself. I saw him on an episode of "Third Rock From the Sun" where he was especially funny.

Not so much the original series, but Next Generation, Voyager, and Enterprise (the theme of which was the "play out" music for Rob's Eagle Scout ceremony). My favorite movie is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, because I like time slips and the California scenery.

I even accompanied Richard and Rob to a Star Trek convention in Cincinnati. We heard George Takei speak and Rob (age 12 or so) won an autographed 8x10 of Gates McFadden for answering trivia questions on stage.

Crew argues - ship encounters a world that mirrors an earth philosophy from the past....crew gets captured/mind altered/body shifted.....the end.

Like DR AMY and DR GINNY - I liked THE NEXT GENERATION much better, and I still watch it in reruns....the original not so much. I also liked TNG cast much better.

Of the original timeline "Star Trek" movies, my favorite is "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" which I saw in a theater in Perth, Australia, on Christmas Eve 1986. I enjoy "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" despite it's being bloated and bit eccentric in design (sets and costumes). My second favorite movie, though, is "Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan". VERY entertaining.

Of the alternate timeline "Star Trek" movies, I definitely love the first one the most, but both, thus far, have been very rewarding.

I very much enjoy "Star Trek: The Next Generation" TV series and have the first five seasons on Blu ray. Additionally, I'm very fond of "Star Trek: Voyager" but have none of those on DVD or Blu ray.

I do have the complete series on DVD for "Star Trek: Enterprise".

And I have all the "Star Trek" movies on Blu ray.

But I'm not slavish or anything.

I think MR BK said he had not done so.....AGAIN I highly recommend that he do so, he would get his Medicare Card that would at least cover some of his medical expenditures in case of something happening.....and his monthly SS stipend would probably/maybe pay his rent payment....or car payment or something. And I think at his advanced age...HAHA.....his earnings would be unrestricted....age 67 is counted as FULL RETIREMENT AGE.

MR BK talk to your accountant.

Got eight hours of sleep, it rained through the night but, of course, stopped before I woke up, then got the news that I'd won a Scenie Award for Best Direction of a Musical (Intimate) for Inside Out (and also won best production, best ensemble and best performance by an understudy). Since I never win much of anything, that was pleasant, even though there are a LOT of scenies in each category.

Congrats to you and the entire production! Did you even know that you were nominated? Was there an actual presentation that you could've shown up at...if you wanted?

Post by: bk on September 15, 2015, 11:00:59 PM: Back from a lovely first session - it was all very smooth, Sami was in good voice and really took to the recording vibe very quickly - we had to do a couple of takes, which I played back for her, she heard what she needed to adjust and from then on it was easy sailing. We did fixes as we went along and we got eight songs done, plus the bonus track with Corey Fogelmanis. So, tomorrow that leaves six and she was tending to get four in an hour. That will leave us time to eat and listen to everything one final time to make sure we're happy with everything. That's a nice luxury.
