Good morning, all.

Pulled a late one last night and could have used a little more sleep, but that was not to be.  Had to get out of a stupid dream, and there are things that must be done.  There is no rest for the wicked.

TOD:

As a part time dog groomer, I started out on Facebook friending a lot of other dog groomers. Without knowing it I ended up being friends with dog breeders and also people who are outraged by animal abuse and like to post photos of abused animals. Well, the last thing I want to see on my computer is photos of abused animals, so I had to unfriend a lot of people. Then, I realized I could spend hours on Facebook without accomplishing anything and simply stopped looking at it. If someone posts something directly to me, I get an e-mail about it, and then I can go look for it on Facebook. That's about all the time I have for it now.

Outrage on Facebook is insane.  There is ALWAYS going to be SOMEONE who disagrees with your "outrage" about something.  If you post it on Facebook, that person for some reason feels compelled to reply.

I once said something about President Obama preempting Judge Judy, and you would have thought I had threatened his life.  I said the same thing when President Bush preempted a show.....I think at least 2 people "unfriended" me.

And HEAVEN FALLS if anyone writes anything even slightly critical of Dame Clinton.

So I don't write or read political posts ANYWHERE.

I use Facebook as a communication tool, but it's not much fun as it used to be.  And of course there are E N D L E S S pictures of babies and children.....

Mowing done!

Mooing, too, probably.

I wonder if the neighbors hear the mooing and think I bought a cow to keep the grass and weeds short.  I wonder if that isn't in fact a pretty good idea.  Besides, we need the eggs.  No, wait...

I know what you mean. In Alexandria we had only one or two days a year and sometimes you're just not available on that day. It needs to be more often.

Speaking of hazardous waste, I'd like to see less of it in my building. As in next door. They do recycle their beer bottles. You can hear them; it makes a racket. I'm glad they're recycling, but I'd like to see the owners of those bottles recycled into other living quarters.

Saturday evening greetings!  I was outta here before 9am to be in Cincinnati by 10 for 2 art classes and lunch with the instructor.  In the morning we learned a couple of techniques using a Gelli plate and how to use PanPastels, both of which I bought at lunchtime (my intention all along).  This afternoon was "Color Theory for Rookies" and I learned a lot about acrylic paint, mostly that it gets everywhere.  All this is a run-up to starting an art journaling online course on October 1.

Saw former Dr Jason handing out candy and had another short chat.

Is DR Jason still performing or just doing related things?

He is working at both Disney and universal; ride attendant at one and merchandising in the other however he just auditioned for an won  a singing spot in the Christmas holiday
Celebrations at Disney so hopefully this is the foot in the door to get back on the performance track

Excellent news :)

Sorry.  I hope you found comfort at the service.

One of our guests today noticed my messed up arms but didn't ask thinking I had some disease.  I only mentioned it because the steroids made my delicious brownies taste salty.  I almost made another batch thinking I had accidentally doubled the salt.  When I noticed the measuring spoon and saw it was correct I had Keith taste the batter and it was fine.

Has anyone cooked baby portabells mushrooms.  We found them at the market for the first time and Keith sauted them in butter.  He drained the liquid off and added a touch of maple syrup.  They were yummy.

Back from a very good show with an audience that we had to pry the laughs out of - very proud of her for doing exactly that.  I think some of that problem stems from the fact that she talks fast and people are trying to hear all the words and sometimes the laugh lines get by them.  We're constantly striving to have her slow down a bit and when she does the laughs land better.
