Well, you've read the notes, the notes found a transvestite on Lingenstrasse, and now it is time for you to post until the transvestite cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ANTONOMASIA!
-
First post after BK!
-
Well, I'm finally home. We finished our paper tech at about 1:15 am, then I drove the light board operator home.
-
I did that because I also picked him up before I ushered yesterday afternoon and brought him downtown (at his request) because his car is in the shop...and he doesn't live too far away from my sister. Anyway, I'm home.
-
Today is my sister's birthday and since "HEAD!" has a full day of rehearsal because we open on Friday, I told them that I wouldn't be able to get there until I had some time to spend with my sister. They said that that was okay. So, my sister's boyfriend and I are going to take her to brunch at 10 am, and then I'll go to rehearsal whenever we're done.
-
So now, I MUST go to sleep since I have to get up early (for me) to go to brunch.
Have a good day, all!
-
There is this huge truck outside, one of those things you haul cars on - and for the past twenty minutes it's been pulling forward and backing up complete with the loud beeps - there's one car on the back of it - I finally went out there and another neighbor had just gone out there, too. I'm asking what the HELL is going on and why are they doing this at four-thirty in the morning over and over again. They don't answer, the truck guy and the guy who's car it is. The neighbor lady tells me the axle on the car broke and they're just trying to get it off the truck and on the street - maybe the guy lives nearby. Ridiculous. I hear one more beep out of that truck, I call the cops.
-
Good morning I am up and showered and dressed. Once the Vixter finishes with her morning ablutions we are heading downstairs for breakfast

Then the drive back to the island of long

Why is the drive home always so much longer than the drive from home.
-
Good morning, all.
Matinee day. A day to feel discombobulated. In just over three hours I will be heading to the theater.
-
Why is the drive home always so much longer than the drive from home.
That varies for me. Sometimes it's the other way around. But that return trip is almost always a little more boring, especially the second day when you're just schlepping through territory you're a lot more familiar with.
Have a good and safe drive!!
-
Good morning, all! Just as I was about to post 45 minutes ago, this computer crashed again. I had to restart it twicew, reset the modem, and pray to God that it would live again, et voila! here I am.
Yesterday, I spoke to my friend Peter, who is much more computer savvy than I, and he is going to help me with my new Mac. I gave him the huge one I had at Toyland since it was too large for my space on 82nd Street. He'll be over this week - jury duty permitting - or the week of the 12th, when I return.
-
I had one long dream I scarcely remember now, rehearsing something at Goodspeed. I was trying to copy cuts and changes into a trombone part, with too many interruptions.
-
This morning I must go to Staples, photocopy several orchestra parts for this recording on Oct. 19, and drop them off this week to either the MD or singer.
-
DR TCB, sounds as though you had a really good day yesterday. Fantastic! Was the 80 year-old hitting on you?
-
DR vixmom, I hope today's travels are as smooth. We had lovely cool weather in Manhattan yesterday. I hope it's as nive today.
-
BK, what are you doing up so late?
-
Have a good day, everyone!

It is often the same with return flights home.
-
Vixmom have a safe and easy drive home with the Vixter!
-
Happy Birthday to the sister of DR Gearge!
-
Happy Birthday to our Craig!
-
Happy birthday to Keith's brother.
-
If I recall correctly there is another birthday connection here.
-
Good morning--the sun is shining; the birds are singing.

Matinee vibes for MR BK & Co. and for DR CHAS SMITH.
I forgot to tell DR CHAS SMITH how much I liked the promo video he linked the other day......I was kind of hoping the end of it would be all the cards of the cast lined up in a row and knocked down....but then again.....I'm not the director.
-
Isn't this the week of DR TCB's callback?
-
Things are going along here pretty much as they have been.
-
Matinee vibes for MR BK & Co. and for DR CHAS SMITH.
Ditto!

I've been listening to John McGlinn's recording KURT WEILL ON BROADWAY. I'd forgotten how good it is'
-
!! 2 !!
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! We've been to Rob and Mary Linda's church and out for lunch. In an hour or so I'm going to a girlfriend get-together here in town.
-
I'm up again. I guess I got close to seven hours of sleep all told. The truck thing was so annoying.
-
I've been listening to John McGlinn's recording KURT WEILL ON BROADWAY. I'd forgotten how good it is'
I have this repackaged with a disc of Weill orchestral music. It is a good disc.
-
Lazy day. Feeling good for being so lazy.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the theater for our matinee.
-
Still on page 2?
-
WTF?
-
I had some nice listening today and chatted with Diana Montague, my Aunt Minnie on ROBERTA, and her son Huw. I've done my meds for the week, and added some things to my packing list.
-
Once I know if Peter is coming in to help with the computer setup, I can plan sme time to deliver the two songs and orchestrations to the singer and pick up a check. I am thinking that I will purchase a suit in Ohio.
-
I just finished up this week's Chinese takeout: mixed veggies and beancurd. I wish i had a plum or a nectarine.
To hell with that one, I wish I had some money. I'm waiting on a check and a bank transfer, and I nothing in hand.
-
I finished reading What Makes Sammy Run?, a fabulous book. I once worked with a record producer who is a total Sammy Glick. At least he was when I worked with him, and I'd guess he still is.
-
So, I'm looking for a new novel, perhaps Carl Hiaasen's Bad Monkey.
-
I won't get us to page 3, but i made a dent.
-
Good try.
-
Good try.
Thank you, sir!

Jerry Hadley. R.I.P.
I thought I had that. Where is it? Must do something about this.
-
Matinee was fine, and now I'm off till Friday evening.
Yay!! :) I love the show, but I've got plenty to do this week.
-
So now, I MUST go to sleep since I have to get up early (for me) to go to brunch.
Have a good day, all!
I got to brunch exactly at the right time. :) I had french toast with bananas Foster and pecans. The rum in the bananas Foster was stronger than I expected. It was otherwise pretty good. There's nothing like boozed up dessert for breakfast.
-
I'm at the theater and we just had a cue-to-cue of act one with the actors. It took considerably less time than last night's cue-to-cue without the actors.
;)
-
We're now taking a break for food. Today is the day that the board provides food for the cast and crew.
-
Happy Birthday to the sister of DR Gearge!
Thanks, Jane!
-
Happy Birthday to our Craig!
Ditto!
-
Happy birthday to Keith's brother.
Ditto, too!

I am glad you did not need my ditto which I sent too late forgetting about the time difference.

DR George, thank you and thank you.
-
Poor Craig does not have time to celebrate his Sunday birthday. Instead of going out with friends he is grading papers.
-
Good thing he enjoys his job.

I thought I had that. Where is it? Must do something about this.
I met Jerry backstage at the Met after a PORGY & BESS which my SHOW BOAT friends Karla Burns and Bruce Hubbard were in. He was very unpleasant, I'm sorry to say. Even sadder, I have a BBC broadcast of Kern songs with McGlinn that really shows the deterioration of his voice. He was so good on SHOW BOAT, and i believe i saw him in THE RAKE'S PROGRESS at the Met when my neighbor Joyce Guyer sang Anne Trulove.
-
Matinee vibes for MR BK & Co. and for DR CHAS SMITH.
Ditto!
Another Ditto!
Ditto, Three!!
-
I only saw him in THE GREAT GATSBY.
I wonder if I taped his RAKE broadcast.
-
I no longer have a computer. We looked at a couple of other ones and the store didn't have either one in stock. We did get a wifi booster that is plugged into the bedroom. It has boosted my Nook in the bedroom nd Keith said his iPad was greatly improved in my office for when I do have a computer again.
-
Well, back to rehearsal. We're now going to run act two, and then I don't know what'll happen after that.
Be back...eventually.
-
Act two is done (there were some stops and starts) and now we're getting notes.
-
Well, we're going to take a little break then run the show.
-
Gratuitous Post # 70! :D
-
Page three? Really?
-
What is this page three malarky.
-
Back from our best show and a great meal at the Smoke House. I'll be writing about the show at length in the notes.
-
But to tell you the most fun part: Another cell phone went off today and Sami ran with it just as she had the other time and it was fall out of your seat hilarious. But best of all we made one of Sami's dreams come true. In the second song, which is her I Want song and which is, coincidentally called "I Want" there's a lyric that goes "I want to sing a duet with Hunter Parrish who'll immediately fall in love with me". All the wants in the I Want song come directly from Sami, who has a teen crush on Mr. Parrish. Well, I was determined that Mr. Parrish see the show and thanks to some divine intervention today he was there. We have one number with audience participation and he'd agreed in advance we'd take him up. Sami never knows who until I let the stage manager know and she texts her backstage. I survey the audience and always make the choice. So, she had no idea Hunter was there, and when she chose him and he looked up at her the look on her face was priceless and the entire bit with him was hilarious and wonderful. I'll have lots of photos in the notes. So wonderful to have a responsive audience - makes all the difference in the world :) The audience included our very own Sandy Bainum and fellow Inside Out cast member Dana Meller.
-
Such a heartwarming story :)
-
I miss having a computer, ironic too now that I finally have an office and a proper desk.

That is so cool! What a wonderful experience for Sami!

Is/was anyone able to see the super moon eclipse?
-
We just had our intermission and from where our building is, it's not viewable at all. :(
-
Sounds like a winner of a show. Looking forward to the photographic evidence!
-
The eclipse is incredible here. East coast is in the sweet spot.
-
I don't know from the eclipse, I'm watching The Satan Bug and eating Milk Duds.
-
The eclipse is incredible here. East coast is in the sweet spot.
Enjoy it! I know that there will be a LOT of pictures that I'll get to see.
-
Who is Hunter Parrish?
-
Forgot about the eclipse! Dealing with the Wright State University appearance next week and finishing up the Oct. recording charts, which may need some revising. Don't ask.
-
Perhaps when I see his list of changes, it will be easier and fewer than I expect. I am very happy i have all day tomorrow to accomplish them.
-
I briefly saw a partial partial eclipse.
-
By the time it emerged from the low-hanging clouds it moved directly behind the one big tree that I have on the horizon.
-
I'll check again in a half hour.
-
I don't imagine I will see the next one we have in 2033 (or whatever).
-
I may still be around then, but I probably won't care about an eclipse.
-
I will probably look in a half hour.
-
Who is Hunter Parrish?
Young actor. I thought you might like this photo! He was on Broadway in Godspell and Spring awakening.
-
I'm stuck on the word, "probably."
-
We got home about 8:30 safe and sound . Thank you for the vibes

Excellent!

My back has really been bothering me.
I'm so sorry, DR TCB!
-
It never seems to fail. As soon as I put a different blanket on the bed, Nicky gets sick on the new blanket.
-
I have not yet unpacked and I must go to work in the morning
-
Yuck
-
Nicky actually doesn't throw up as many cats that have owned me.
-
I forgot to win the powerball so I could stay on vacation
-
Angel used to throw up, at least, once a day.
-
I don't know how it slipped my mind
-
Thank you Elmore and Vixmom for helping to get me thru page 4.
-
I didn't win Power Ball either.

Finished with my viewing.
-
I have some GREAT photographs for the notes.
-
The moon emerged from behind the tree, just as the eclipse went total!!
-
Think how scary an eclipse was to people several hundred years ago.
-
Especially a solar eclipse.
-
I hope we have, at least, one more sunny day.
-
Good evening. I watched the eclipse. I don't think any of my photos turned out, though.
-
Is/was anyone able to see the super moon eclipse?
We went to the river path with several neighbors. We all found it unexciting.

It looks like it is going to be sunny all week. Highs in the low 70's.

I have some GREAT photographs for the notes.
Can't wait to see them.
-
Really long notes and a ton of photographs!!!
-
And they'll be up right on time.
-
Silently passing by, a while ago we had us a rather incredible and momentous stat here at haineshisway.com. I'll talk about it in the new posts.
-
I'm watching "The Muppets" on OnDemand. Is this being geared to kids? Because it's not for little kids.
-
It's not really that funny (to me), but I'm watching it as if it was deliberately made as a "dramedy." That makes it not so bad.
-
Of course, my standards aren't too high.
;)
