Well, you've read the notes, the notes had art and did a take, and now it is time for you to post until the arty cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERIPETEIA!
-
Happy Birthday to (former?) DR Doug R!! :D
-
It sure is fun and heartwarming to read about Sami's growth as a performer, as in today's notes.
-
I don't have much going on this weekend. That will be a nice change.
-
And it's all very strange.
-
(Ah! An Into the Woods reference!)
-
It's early for a Saturday.

TOD: For songs - I remember in Boston seeing "Woman of the Year" in its tryout, there were several laughs in "The Grass is Always Greener" that actually covered quite a fewof the following lines. After "You can have my husband" "I've already had your husband" the laughter had built so that it lasted until the button of the number, followed by the wild applause for the song. (I don't recall the same duration of laughter when I saw the show in New York.)
-
For dialogue, the longest laugh I can remember (which erupted into rippling sustained applause) was in the Kennedy Center MAME, when Mother Burnside made her entrance looking so distressed over her son's engagement to Mame, and said "What do you mean I don't look happy, Beauregard?" The timing was exquisite, and you could feel the power of such a big laugh on an audience - the laugh at her entrance seemed to energize the whole scene which followed. (Mary Stout played Mother Burnside, Eric Schaeffer was the director.)

Good morning, all! My nephew Matt is about to become a father and Jo is throwing a shower for thirty people. Randy and I have been ordered to get lost after 12:30 so we are going shopping, and he is going to give me a tutorial on this Toyota I am driving.
-

Good. You should at least get your money's worth. :)
-
Good morning to all
-
I had to look up the character name for this one.
In what basically a very dismal show the musical version of The Goodbye Girl had a character Ricky Simpson which was basically a spoof and a vey wicked one of Richard Simpson. The audience was laughing so hard and long at the scene and character that nothing in the rest of the show match it. The old adage was true I laugh until it hurt.

I'll agree. I saw it in NYC and Marilyn Cooper and the scene was the best thing about the show.

Good morning, all.
I was in the deepest sleep having an epic dream of an intensity I haven't seen in a while, and when I suddenly awoke from it I felt like the proverbial truck had run over me. Might have slept a little bit longer, but felt it better to get the hell out of bed and shake it all off.
Coffee!
-
Also Act Two of Noises Off was a laugh fest from curtain up to curtain down.
Which didn't happen in the film version
-
Wife Sandy and I listened to the WELCOME TO MY WORLD CD last night.
Terrific stuff! Really enjoyed it.
Of course, we haven't seen it live, but the only problem with this show (as I see it) is that, because it's about a 14-year old girl, you're going to have to re-cast it every couple of years.
But, I guess they had to do that with ANNIE, too.
Any chance of your filming a full video production of the show?
-
Here's the trailer for my new 3 play anthology, THE HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS.
Enjoy!

Saturday morning greetings! Cold & rainy in SW Ohio today - perfect for staying in to watch Michigan football and roast a chicken for dinner.
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely.
-
This morning the robo-call happened at eight.
-
She of the Evil Eye is here and I have to leave. The problem is my tummy feels terrible so I don't think I should be eating anything this morning - I don't want to just go sit and have a soda, so I'm in a quandary. Driving probably isn't the best thing to do either. There is a book fair today in Pasadena, but I'm not in that mode right now.
-
Tell her you don't feel well and stay home, or go sit by the pool with a book.

-
I'll go sit in Jerry's and see how I feel - if I can't eat I'll have a ginger ale.
-
Drink the soda very slowly as too much can make you hurt more.

What a lovely Saturday this looks to be!

A canoe! And PAGE TWO!

Yum, roasted chicken sounds good, I may have to do that later today

There's a chill in the air, but a beautiful fall day I have some touching up painting I need to do around the windows and some staining on the West side of the garage. Not sure if what I have left in the cans will work, but am going to try it as soon as it warms up a little more
-
Trying to decide if I want to go to a hockey game tonight. I'm really not into hockey, but many of my baseball friends are telling me I need to go and one of them got me some vouchers for about 1/2 price, so I can get two tickets.
-
I'm thinking I'll wait. It's opening night. I really don't need the hoopla
-
Next decision....do I go to Riverssance? It's our version of a Renaissance festival. It's pretty good, actually. No where near Minnesota Renaissance Festival which is the best, but pretty good. I'm kind of renaissanced out from all the years of going......hmmm.....maybe I'll just clean house
-
It has been a productive day thus far.
-
Bruce, are you feeling better?
-
Bills paid.
-
Piles sorted.
-
Errands run.
-
Multiple piles of laundry completed.
-
Good morning, all! My nephew Matt is about to become a father and Jo is throwing a shower for thirty people. Randy and I have been ordered to get lost after 12:30 so we are going shopping, and he is going to give me a tutorial on this Toyota I am driving.
Congrats to your nephew, Larry!
-
I really know how to live, live, live!
-
And most poor suckers out there are starving.
-
Or something like that. ;)
-
I'm up, posting from my tablet in bed, and just ketchuping on a lot of TV watching.
-
Well, that's the plan for the day. One of my DVRs is 89% filled! :o
-
I need to watch and delete what I can before tonight's performance of "HEAD!" Fortunately, I have the entire day free tomorrow, so I finally have time for more TV watching.
-
Here's the trailer for my new 3 play anthology, THE HOLLYWOOD SCANDALS.
Enjoy!

That's great, Druxy.

Back and feeling a lot better. I had poached eggs, white toast, a bit of white rice and about half a ginger ale. Did the trick, I must say.
-
Keith & I looked at the matinee schedule for "Second Samuel". There are 2:00 shows on January 24th, January 31st, and February 7th. Weather permitting we would drive up to Tacoma, see the show and spend the night so we can have a relaxing dinner with George & TCB.
DR George & DR TCB what do you think of this plan? TCB would it be too much for you to go out after a show?
-
Bruce, I'm glad your light breakfast helped.
-
We are back at Randy's. After searching for a new suit we went to lunch and then made a trip to the cemetery to visit Mom and Dad.

That sounds like a great idea, Jane! Count me in!
-
If you have preferred dates let us know. It is still early to decide but your schedule fills up faster than ours does ;) How far ahead should we order tickets?
-
Oh, and DR George, wasn't it it was your idea first before DR TCB was cast in the play? ;)

I hope this opens up a riot of a video of dogs skyping each other.

Funny!

:)
-
Dozed off for a bit - a good thing. Not in the mood to write right now - so that can be tomorrow night.
-
My goodness - we need us a frenzy or three!!
-
Something is nutty on Amazon. We had one review up - posted a few days ago - I could see there was one review and that it was five stars but I couldn't actually see the review, which took almost two days to appear. Now I can see there's another five-star review, which I'd love to read, but which isn't showing up. What gives?

Interesting. At least it's another 5-star review. :) Congrats to that!
-
Well, I hate to do it, but I have to leave.
-
I just don't understand why I can't see it - reviews used to appear the minute they were written.
-
I've watched and deleted several shows from my DVR.
-
Now, I have to take a shower, get dressed, then go to the theater.
-
It's our last performance of the first weekend.
-
We don't come back until Thursday.
-
It'll be a nice and needed break after the tech week.
-
I just don't understand why I can't see it - reviews used to appear the minute they were written.
Maybe Amazon has made some change in the review process?
-
Someone go look and see if you see two reviews.
-
Someone go look and see if you see two reviews.
That's weird. I clicked on several different links and could only see one review, but when I clicked on the "5 star" link next to the 5-star bar that shows the "100%" on the opposite side of "5 star", then the other review showed. It's from Singdaw!
-
I hope, but doubt, that my previous post makes sense. ::)
;)
-
Actually, I found that you can click on the bar itself or the "100%" to see both reviews.
-
And now, I MUST be going. I stll have to shower and get dressed!
Be back later!
-
I went outside today and decided to touch up the paint on the windowsills outside Then I found the left over paint from the gazebo and the left over stain from the garage. So I touched up the window sills on the south and west sides of the house, scraped and repainted the places on the gazebo that needed it and touched up the stain on the west side of the garage. Really looks better. I'm sure no one will notice. It's one of those jobs that you don't notice when it's done but do notice if it isnt'
-
Decided to stay home tonight after all that.
-
Don't know much else.
-
I was very glad I could do all that without having to go to the store and buy anything
-
I did reinstall windows 10 on my laptop. It's working fine now
-
So far, we have another good audience!
-
There are about nine empty seats.
-
Of course, the house holds 37, so that's only 3/4 full.
-
But still, it's a good house. :)
-
And now, since we're so close...
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!

Back -- from the best ASSASSINS yet. Tonight's was exceptional.
Just one more.

That's great, ChasSmith! I love that show!
-
BK, I just checked Amazon and both reviews for "Welcome To My World (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014H1DXXS)" showed on the page without trouble.
-
...if you hadn't found that already.
-
Good evening, all.
-
It's been a very long day.
-
I did sleep in, which was glorious.
-
But after five hours of dance practice, I almost fell asleep while waiting on Joy to finish her lesson.
-
Then I went to a six-course dinner celebrating interior Mexican foods. With matching wines. Which made me even sleepier.
-
Favorite courses were shredded goat meat over brown rice and a dessert of an apple-almond cake with tequila ice cream.
-
And now I have to trudge off to bed.
-
Almost Intermission!
-
Be back later!
-
TOD:
The F.U. line in "The Odd Couple"
Some of the double takes on Wodehouse Playhouse
Charles Kimbrough in a revival of Hay Fever took a bite of an atrocious breakfast. Just as he was about to spit it out, he got caught and was forced to swallow it. The laughs were building, but then he followed it with the line, "It's not very good, is it?" At that point, the audience broke up and Kimbrough, just sitting there with this grotesque smile plastered on his face, somehow made things even funnier by the second.
-
Good night, all.
-
The buzz during intermission was quite good!
-

DR George & DR TCB what do you think of this plan? TCB would it be too much for you to go out after a show?
Not at all. That would work great. I would never be too tired to dine with you and Keith and George!
-
I did reinstall windows 10 on my laptop. It's working fine now
I am glad to hear this as I should update to 10.
-
If you have preferred dates let us know. It is still early to decide but your schedule fills up faster than ours does ;) How far ahead should we order tickets?
It would probably be best to avoid the last Sunday. We will have strike, which I will have to help in some way.
-
Jane, if you're planning to spend the night, what if you came up early on a Saturday, have a lunch early enough for Tom to get to the theater, see the show Saturday night, and then you could leave Sunday.
Just a thought.
-
Well, the show's almost over. Gotta go until I get home.
:D
-
Then I went to a six-course dinner celebrating interior Mexican foods. With matching wines. Which made me even sleepier.
I read that as "inferior" Mexican foods and was wondering if the wine helped
-
Well I got up around 7 cleaned up a bit in the kitchen and got to the office by 8:30. Left by 4:30
-
Do I know how to weekend or what?
-
Got home around 5 and had a quick bite of leftover meatloaf made by the. Lovely vixter
-
Vixdad is still ill and feeling miserable

Thank you!
-
Good night!
-
Good evening from Oregon.
-
The ride down here was very nice.
-
The temp was in the mid-seventies.
-
It is supposed to be in the 80's tomorrow.
-
It was great to spend several hours with my best friend from high school and college
-
He has aged considerably in the six years since I saw him last.
-
He is basically deaf now and his balance is not good.
-
I think our visit with him did him a great deal of good.
-
Tomorrow we are taking him to the casino for brunch.
-
And that's all I've got from the Hampton Inn in Salem, OR.
-
Yes, I see the second review now - from Singdaw and lovelier than lovely.
-
Back from a very good performance - Sami just went out and played the damn show for our fifteen people. I was more bothered by it than she was - the problem with fifteen people in a 99-seat theater is that they're not a group - and it's hard to get them to laugh, although they were very good and they did laugh and applauded really loudly. But I am so pissed off at my "friends" who just couldn't be bothered to make time to see the show. Some had legit excuses, but most didn't other than laziness. I cannot wait until any of these folks need a favor or want me to see their show. They are, I'm afraid, on the D list right now.
