Well, you've read the notes, the notes had strength in numbers, and now it is time for you to post until the strong cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPLENDIFEROUS!
-
Good morning.
-
~ ~ ~ much stronger vibes and xylophones for packaging approval ~ ~ ~ for bk/Kritzerland!!!
-
Wonder if they're moving more slowly this week due to the holiday?
-
Also, ~ ~ ~ CONTINUED MIRACLE VIBES!!! ~ ~ ~
-
Tuesday.
Yesterday my mother got her new prescription card - she has been COBRA'd until May, 2016, at no cost to us, which is nice, although she already had other insurance ready to go.
Everything is taken care of except the pesky pension. Since it comes from the same source as the insurance, I am hoping that they get that straightened out by this month or next.

OMG I am not happy. There is snow everywhere. And with no warning. When I checked the weather forecast last night I only saw a 40% chance of flurries. Luckily it is supposed to be very warm on Thursday and Friday so it will melt. But yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all! I slept really late, and I am turning into a lazy slob. i need a good kick.
-
I have liked almost ALL of my teachers....some better than others of course.
I have had only ONE teacher that I hated. We moved in the spring of the 4th grade, so there were only two 6-week periods left in the year. My new teacher was named Mrs. Naile. There were NOT enough books to go around, so we had to share some. She never called on me when I raised my hand, and she hit me once when we were out on the playground. I still don't know what that was about.
At the end of the school term - she was giving away some of the things in the room. A boy had kind of given up feeding the little turtle, so I had taken over the job. I raised my hand when she asked who wanted it. No one else raised his hand, but she still gave it to someone else.
This is just the tip of her unexplained hatred for me - I could feel it every day. If she couldn't find a wrong answer on my paper or tests, she marked me down for my penmanship or having too dull a pencil.
I hope she died a horrible painful and lingering death....alone....
-
There is not enough space to write about the WONDERFUL teachers I had.
Mr. Riddick, our 5th grade teacher. My first male teacher. He was great, he brought his record player in and played records for us. He made learning so much fun.
My English/Lit teachers Miss York, Mrs. Kreiger, Mrs, Brewster, and Miss Bray. My history teacher Mr. Marksbury.....and on and on....
-
This is a good week to be a slob DR ELMORE.
DR VIXMOM sort of clued me in on the FIDDLER nonsense.....yes hopefully it will be changed.
I need new glasses. I can't tell you what I thought MR BK wrote in the notes when he wrote House of Pies.....because this is a family site.
-
Good Morning! Looks like a pretty day ahead!
-
I had a time-shifting change-shifting dream last night; I'm not sure now which came first, the family or friends, but I was with friends - I think E&T DR Ben and Anthony were among them - at some sort of gathering and one ofr the treats was some ice cream dish with fresh strawberries. Then I was eating ice cream with strawberries and playing with a lot of kittens at my Aunt Jean's home in Hamilton, OH. My brother Randy was very small so I was probably no older than twelve or so.
My other dream, which may have been part of this, was about a chord - A-minor, which could have been a D-ninth or an F-sharp minor seventh with a flatted five - and this strange cluster of notes above it - B, D, E - and my constant question: what chord do you want here?
-
I have no plans today. I am pondering doing laundry but i might want to hold such a treat until Thanksgiving day, since I ave no plans. I need to launder my bedding and winter-ize the bed as well, so this may be a weekend epic.
-
Good morning, all.
Yet another dream that, at last count, combined at least three common dream themes, and brought in three or four situations based on both recent and decades-old events.
-
I've got a long list of things that must be done in these two days before T-Day and in the couple of days immediately following. A long, long list.
-
I just got a loverly email from Bill Modrow, librarian in Special Collections, that my collections was used recently in a music research class.
I asked him if there was an online finding aid to it. I could really use one.

TOD:
Mrs. Nora Borgstrom at Garfield High School in Seattle. She gave me the lead in the senior play (A SLIGHT CASE OF MURDER) and encouraged my dreams to go into show biz.
If any teacher made me think of becoming a serial killer, it was Miss Louella Hart, who taught social studies at Garfield. She was a cold fish. No matter how well you were doing, she always made you feel that you were failing her course.

Tuesday morning greetings! It's cold and sunny here today, perfect for going to the eye doctor's office to have my new sunglasses adjusted.
-
Good morning!
-
We have a final meeting this morning with the owner of the restaurant where my niece's fundraiser is being held. We meet at 11:00, but that isn't too early to enjoy a nice plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Of course, I won't eat again for the rest of the day.

DR Ginny, thanks for the card. It arrived in yesterday's post.
-
Charlotte and I have decided to see a movie this week. The times tomorrow are lousy, primarily because she's booked until 2:00 and the early afternoon showings all happen around 1:30. I've offered her these options:
Victor Frankenstein
Trumbo
Legend
Spotlight
Brooklyn
I think she would like as well the latest edition of The Hunger Games. I'd rather die.

We are going to a spaghetti dinner fundraiser tonight for the Art Central Foundation.

It must be the cooling of the temperature, spaghetti can be a great comfort food.
-
Sounds good to me right about now.
-
It always sounds good to me.
-
One more post on this page.

Two
-
Maybe I will go for lasagna instead!
-
We will see Victor Frankenstein tomorrow at 2:15. Yay!
-
TCB sez:
I wish we could record it, but I have been told that isn't going to happen.
And I am sorry to hear that.
I was equally sorry to be told, politely, when I made a private appeal for an archival copy of ASSASSINS, that there was no way it was going to happen. I didn't want it as a record of my own participation, but because it was such an exceptional piece of theater all around. This place has an experienced guy who gets an excellent video of their productions, but they play by the rules to the nth degree, and the only way I'll even get to see that is if/when they hold a private showing several months after the fact. Hardball, baby.
-

Excellent, DR Elmore! I think I want to see that one, too. I especially look forward to TRUMBO.
-
Relieved to hear we won't be losing our DR Elmore to HUNGER GAMES.
-
It's like a new lease on life.
-
I am so sick of these idiot anti-Muslim morons who continue to confuse Muslims with Al Quaeda or ISIS. And Donald Trump, this year's answer to Adolph hitler, only caters to them.
End of rant.

DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dreams are certainly holiday related and that good news can be expected from family members. The second part of the dream tells us that you will soon have to choose from among several projects that are offered to you.
-
DR Jennifer I suppose I shouldn't complain that it is cold here when we don't have snow. ;)
-
I'm up, I'm up - another rough night of too little sleep, perhaps five hours.
-
CD arrived. Thank you, BK!
-
I slept fairly well back in my own bed. Keith did too since he put a rolled blanket under his sinking mattress to level it a bit.
-
When I left for a walk this morning it was only 38 degrees. It is now 40 degrees. I was comfortable as it is a clear day without wind. Keith said he could hear the wind blowing last night.
-
I bet DR Jennifer wishes it was 10 Celsius there.
-
Got both pairs of glasses adjusted, paid my bill, stopped at Starbucks, and came home for lunch. Now I have 2 pumpkin pies in the oven and our house will smell good soon!

I sure hope that Dream-o-matic is right! I need to get busy again. I'm more fun when I'm working. I feel all I'm giving friends and the DRs I love is a lot of misery. As for the others, well . . .

I wish it.

TOD: Here's a shoutout to Zera Baird, my high school Latin teacher. She only taught one year (she had had a full slate of classes when she started, but the appeal had dwindled over the years). She taught me more about English grammar than any other teacher. She was a delightful, droll woman.
I had her after she had had a stroke that left half of her face paralyzed. It didn't matter. For the three or four of us who were involved and interested in Latin, she gave it all she had.
She was an odd duck visually. She had the same pantsuit and pumps and earrings in five different patterns and wore one each day of the week.
But one of that mattered. In a sea of burnouts, she was vibrant and vital and she sparked a will to learn.

Back from lunch meeting and picking up packages. Two screeners arrived today - Bridge of Spies and Steve Jobs. Luckily I arrived just as the UPS truck did - even though I signed for both packages electronically and received confirmation of that, the UPS man was still being instructed to get a signature, which is bogus. He told me the same thing has just happened to a neighbor down the street - they signed electronically and yet had they not been home to sign in person the package would not have been left. So, he suggested I call and find out if the system is glitching or what - I'm on hold now trying to do just that. The problem, of course, is that I'm not talking to an agent based in, you know, the United States of America, where this problem is occurring.
-
I bet DR Jennifer wishes it was 10 Celsius there.
I think it will be 10C on thursday and friday, hopefully.

Well, at the dentist today, I had some inflammation and a little bleeding. :o They want me to come back in January (when they could schedule it) to have the "deep cleaning." They will have to numb my gums for this. It's never been this bad, although they said that they caught it very early. Hopefully, it won't be so bad after this.

And since we're so close...

DR JOHN G had a better teacher story than I did.

DR George do you use one of these once or twice a day?

I suppose I understand it in a way, but I also know that they have been releasing them for years. Speaking of that, I owe someone two DVD's of my stuff that i haven't sent yet.

David Canary has passed away. At the age of 77 what does "natural causes" mean? I think of that as for someone really old.

I don't think that I've ever even seen one of those.
-
Ask your dentist to give you one when you return for the other work. I suggest waiting until you heal before using it. You could soften the tip before you use it for the first time.

Vibes and xylophones worked - packaging approved, announcing in the morning. Now we need those next two miracles.

Miracle vibes for BK!

Good evening. It was a glorious day today. I went hiking -- about ten miles.

Until later!

Good evening. It was a glorious day today. I went hiking -- about ten miles.
You put me to shame. I only walk along a walking path, no hills, for maybe 4 miles. Then I try to get out later to equal a total of 7-8 miles.
Today I likely did about 5 miles total.
-
As of this morning I have only read 100 books today, mostly shorter books than normal.
-
Good news about the new Victor Young!
-
Page 3? Really??
-
I owe someone two DVD's of my stuff that i haven't sent yet.

-
Page 3? Really??
Really. Strength in numbers? At post #80?
-
Nobody here but me? Really?
-
Okay, I lied. Chas is here.
-
Or was here.
-
Well, I don't think the e-cigarette is going to work for the reading.
-
So I went and bought puff cigarettes.
-
First rehearsal is Saturday.
-
I am going to help set up the fundraiser at 10 am, go to rehearsal at 12 noon, and then return to the fundraiser at 2:00 pm.
-
Nothing dull about my Saturday.
-
The all-you-can-eat pasta bar is now three pastas, three sauces, salad, and breadsticks.

Four!

My dear friend elmore is here!
-
I can't believe this is Tuesday.
-
It seems like Friday night.
-
Sunday night, my niece's oldest son was driving home after visiting his mother, and he was rear-ended. It totaled his car.
-
The curse continues.
-
And the doctor today told my niece they have found masses on her thyroid.
-
We aren't even sure what that really means.
-
I ended up having the meatball sandwich today. It was very good, but now I wish I had gotten the spaghetti and meatballs.
-
Of course, I would have slept the afternoon away.
-
Lucky #100
-
We are having another wind storm at the moment.
-
Already 50,000 homes in the dark.
-
My lights haven't even flickered.
-
The gust are only supposed to be up to 50 mph.
-
The windows are certainly rattling.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
It seems that DR John G and I were watching WOMAN IN GOLD at the same time. Nice film. I liked it.

The doctors may not know what it means, either. I had some several years ago, eventually resulting in a biopsy. Mine proved to be cysts, which were dealt with during the biopsy. If that's what it is, there's no cause for concern. My best for her.

He went to the hospital, but he is fine. Except he was driving with a suspended license and no insurance.

With the two brain surgeries coming up next month, they didn't seem that important.
-
DR George, I recommend Closys mouthwash. I used to have problems with bleeding gums, plus barnacles (hardened plaque). Things cleared up in two weeks after using Closys daily. I had gum pockets, too. Now I have easy cleanings--easy for me and easy for the hygienist. Available from Amazon.

miss pankush my first grade teacher who instilled a life long love of reading
-
I ent out to dinner its Vixdad Ned ordered a hamburger with Swiss cheese and roasted red peppers on grilled rye bread. It came with pickles, onion rings and fries
-
It arrived and I suddenly realized my mistake
-
I cannot longer bite anything as I have no lower inscisors
-
I spent an hour and twenty minutes on the phone with my health insurance company today, still trying to straighten out the nonsense over my new glasses. It never fails to amaze me: we can develop new technologies to improve surgery, but when it comes to providing clear direction or a straight answer, no. At least I spoke to a very nice fellow, who was trying his best. I took his extension number and told him I want to speak to ONLY him until this has been resolved. I do NOT want to have to go into the whole story again with yet another person. He was amenable.
-
So.i Had to cut everything into small pieces
-
It was a very long dinner
-
I cannot longer bite anything as I have no lower inscisors

Five
-
Sorry abut disappearing yesterday Tommy. I suddenly came over all exhausted

Goodnight, Vixmom.
Goodnight, TCB, too, as I'm also pooping out.

She was a marvel. I had some other teachers that I liked as people, but she was the only teacher I liked as a teacher, as someone who sparked my interest in what they were teaching, until my master's program.

How was your day, John?
-
Laura, the new story is hysterical.
-
It seems that DR John G and I were watching WOMAN IN GOLD at the same time. Nice film. I liked it.
I did, too. I think even more of it now that I've seen previews for Focus, Neverland and Man from UNCLE all before the same movie.
-
It was a very long dinner
I am sorry to hear this. Hopefully there was chocolate mousse for dessert.
-
How was your day, John?
It was long again. Way too much work, but at least it was interesting. I will likely have to work a full day tomorrow, too.
-
Thankfully, I have Friday off.
-
How was your day, TCB?
-
Dancing was at least fun today. So much stuff to learn. I'll never get it all but at least I enjoy it.

That sounds good.

And now, I must be off. TAO is having a special board meeting (I forget why), but I must be there.
Until later!
We discussed our upcoming season, what shows and when, as well as some special events. We are planning on doing evenings of readings of works by one author. Our first event will be December 11th and 12th and it'll be an evening of Edgar Allen Poe. I even get to read one piece! Hopefully, people will want to see these sorts of events.
-
What piece will you be reading?

I've started watching Jupiter Ascending. Calling it the worst movie of the year is perhaps too kind.

I hope nothing too bad.

Did your gum pockets go away?

Finished with my viewing and got everything prepared for our release announcement in the morning.
-
I think I am finally starting to get a handle on this character.
-
How can I purchase some raffle tickets?
Against my better judgement, the raffle tickets will only be sold during the fundraiser. I wanted to go crazy selling them to anybody and everybody for the last two weeks. But I was voted down on that and many other subjects.

A bit stronger then my reaction but close.
-
I wish I knew what they were thinking.
-
Their idea was that there were four big prizes, and that the buyer had to decide which prize they wanted to win by putting their tickets in the jar for that prize. They said that people had to see the prize "live" in order to decide.
