DR TCB, you would like a house and I would settle for another room and a walk in kitchen!

And I agree: I do not give a good goddam about the new STAR WARS.  The frenzy eludes me.

I remember only the end of one dream: what I thought was a mock execution became a real one, I was taken to a guillotine, put in line, watched the people in front of me die, and woke up as I was waiting for the blade to fall.

I remember none of the setup, only the end.

Favorite CD release of the year was Sandy's album of songs by BK.  It made me smile, feel a bit sentimental, and it touched my heart. I loved Lanny Meyers' wonderful work, and the CD reminded me what a softy our curmudgeon host can be and why I love him so much as a friend.

Agreed DR ELMORE....I will share your list.

Sweet video.

Last night my niece Amanda and her friend Michelle went to see the new War Stars movie at the Shops and Perry Crossing - and everyone was herded out of the theatre just as the end credits began to roll....there had been a bomb threat phoned to the mall.

The shops are open this morning, but it was in the same town as one of the school bomb threats that happened on Thursday.....police think it was the same person or persons.

I will probably see THE HATEFUL EIGHT when it's released onto DVD...even though it's 3 hours long.

I have mixed feelings about Tarantino.  Hr makes a good movie, but sometimes he goes too far...like the last few ultra-violent minutes of DJANGO UNCHAINED or the revamped history (i.e. killing Hitler) in INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.

DR vixmom, thanks for adding my friend to your prayer list. Beyond knowing that he is home, I have no idea how his heath is at this moment.

Home from the hospital is a good start... He may have been hospitalized just to be rehydrated. When I was going through chemo they tried to do that a couple of times and I refused and insisted they rehydrate me at the oncologists office. Which in retrospect was probably a selfish mistake and a lot harder on my family ...

Larry - was that done as a terrible mistake?  or was it intentional?

It was intentional on the part of the Man from Philadelphia. I had been led to believe it was all going into storage in Philadelphia when I walked out of the office for the last time. I later got an email from him saying that the office had been emptied and I assumed his crew had come in and removed everything. Today, while Kim Criswell and i were looking for some of the McGlinnventory, we learned that he had let the office management trash everything.  If I had kown he was going to pull that, I could have acted better to preserve things.

Now, some things that should have gone to the Library of Congress eventually are irrevocably lost.

I have very little Christmas spirit. I seldom do these days. I do enjoy giving presents to a few friends and neighbors, but we don't spend a lot and it's a small circle. As for decorating and such, it's just too much work. My cousin LOVES all that and spends a lot of time at it. But she doesn't really have much to do. She also has grandchildren. For kids, of course, it's great fun.

Saturday evening greetings from HOME!  Laurel's funeral went very smoothly and very much to the satisfaction of her daughter.  One of Laurel's claims-to-fame was her cookie-baking prowess, so for the luncheon several of her granddaughters used their Grandma's recipes to bake several kinds of cookies for dessert.  A very "sweet" touch.

Remember that room of scores and books that I thought was going to storage in Philadelphia?  Well, it didn't.  I learned today that it's now in a landfill. I could have given a ton of those scores away to friends or friends of friends if I'd known.

Noooooooooooo!!!

I have two more performances of the roof show.  I'm so done... in so many ways.   I lost it again today -- which I'm never proud of -- but I just couldn't handle some of the pressure and the patronizing of the conductor with my accordion solo in act two.  I wouldn't be surprised if I took a LONG break from playing shows (that aren't school related) after tomorrow.  I'm thinking of maybe just teaching private voice and piano.

Well, all hell has broken out today with the Library of Congress, the Man from Philadelphia, and me over a John McGlinn catastrophe that should have been averted.

What the...?

The Man from Philadelphia will not be happy when my memoirs come out.

But the rest of us will be.

Oh- and I have to add School of Rock to my list of CD's for the year.   What a wonderful show that is!!!
