Then I think I will take a seven day weekend!
Then I think I will take a seven day weekend!
You should! You've earned it!
;D
DR ELMORE the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that dreaming of blue may symbolize your spiritual guide and your optimism of the future. You have clarity of mind....and dreaming of green signifies a positive change, good health, growth, fertility, healing, hope, vigor, vitality, peace, and serenity. The appearance of the color may also be a way of telling you to "go ahead". Green is also symbolic of your strive to gain recognition and establish your independence.
Beautiful rendition, DR Elmore.

Thanks! It's a bit too far from Adolph Adam for my taste, but I do what I'm paid to do! Make the client happy.
Elmore, I thought the Amazon package that arrived today was the one you had told me about. Instead it was the original cast recording of Hamilton and the soundtrack for At Long Last Love. A very merry musical Christmas for me!
I'll let you know when yours arrives.
I have very few plans for today or tomorrow. I'll go over to Holy Trinity and pray for my parents, grandparents, and other family members as well as my friend with cancer. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts.
And continued from yesterday:
Getting Christmas Eve day off is very nice...especially like this year where we get a four-day weekend without using our own vacation time. We don't get New Year's Eve day off, but all the buildings have to close early, so next week, since New Year's Day is on Friday, we'll get a three-day weekend. :D
Around seven years, David Burnham asked me to write this chart for a holiday concert he was doing. I have no memory now of how he found me or where the concert was, but I really enjoyed working with him. This sound clip is from a concert about three years ago.

Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate, and Happy December 24 to those who don't.

Do you guys get a day off for Boxing Day or is that not a holiday?
I spoke to my friend with cancer. I told hm he's on two prayer lists - I hope - and all I can ask is that you keep those vibes going for him. Please.
The time is nigh!

It isn't coming from Amazon but I ordered it on the amazon.com Market. It's from Deep Discount DVD. Expect it next week.
For this year, my favorite Christmas carol is once again [wait for it . . . timpani please . . .]:
Carol of the Bells.
I would love if a company released an entire CD of all versions of that song. Bear Family released a CD of different versions of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (and one devoted to "Unchained Melody" if I recall) and another label put together a CD of multiple versions of "Stairway to Heaven".
I would also buy a CD of the various recordings made of "The September Song".

Why I sometimes type like DR VIXMOM.

I have already made nine mini tarts (apricot and fig again), taken JB to the Tweet Suites, picked up my decongestant and mopped the kitchen floor. I'm now waiting for an oil change and then off to Costco. And the day is just beginning.

MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL is a wonderful animated musical. Wonder if anyone ever tried to translate it to the stage?

Boxing Day is not a holiday here in the USA. We at the library get the day off because our union-equivalent years ago negotiated to get the day off. My sister works for the state and is working today. They don't get the day off. The library where I work is not a state agency. We're our own special county taxing district, so we're quite independent in that respect.

I went to acupuncture today--it's usually on Friday. I knew that street parking would either be very easy today or horrible. Easy! Ooops. I forgot that today is Thursday, not Friday, and neglected to check the parking signs. That resulted in a $73 parking ticket. Ouch! The City of Los Angeles is now on my Christmas list, I guess. I'd rather give the money to someone else.
Next thing I knew it was 7:30 and I wasn't at church.

What does your sister use instead of meat in the tacos?
What does your sister use instead of meat in the tacos?
Tofu with taco seasonings. It's actually quite tasty...definitely not "meat," but it's good for what it is.
Yes, a screwdriver. :)

I don't have a problem with the taste, it is the texture of tofu that I don't like.
Is she up here for Christmas?
Yes, a screwdriver. :)
Did you drink it?
No, it's actually a pretty cool screwdriver called the Bit 369 (https://www.buybit360.com/). Watch the video to see how it works. I'm really going to be able to use this!

How was that centerpiece?
How was that centerpiece?
I did not have any. I consider holidays a time for indulgence so I enjoyed the shrimps and cocktail sauce, the hot crab dip, a variety of cheeses, some ham, baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, croissant, some chicken, cake, cookies, wine, coffee with kalhua and whipped cream..... And stays away from the fresh fruit, fresh green salad And the salmon..... No one Can accuse me of eating healthy foods on a holiday

We haven't had any reports from the Do tonight.
We all still exchange with everyone in my family .. Our tradition is that we hand out all the gifts then all watch as each person opens all their presents. We go in age order youngest to oldest...
I briefly considered going to the 10:45 service which us spectacular.... We have the full choirs, the brass choir, the string choir and the bell choir all performing pews are all fitted with candles and here are candles sconces on the walls and the parishioners are all given candles and the final hymn is Silent night. The lights are turned off the pastors light the aisle candles and sones and light the candles of the people sitting on the spikes seats. Who in turn light the candle of the person next to them until by the end of the hymn the church us again enblazoned by the lights of hundreds of candles The church is always packed for that service.... 300 +. Not a seat to be had if you are tardy
Maybe a little more kalhua would Do the trick
