Title: DISCOMBOBULATED ON A SATURDAY

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were discombobulated, and now it is time for you to post until the discombobulated cows come home.

I remember when "Top of the Lake" was broadcast on TV.  The only other person in the cast that I'd heard of was Holly Hunter.

I'm thinking that for those who bought Welcome to My World at Kritzerland, I may provide a link to Dropbox so you can see the show.  I have to figure out how to do that as I don't want people to drag it from the folder so it's not there anymore.  And I'm not sure I want it to be downloaded or cloned to a computer, although if someone were to do that then they could make me a DVD.  What do you think?

I might be able to make a DVD.  What's the file format?

Also, if you had something like a sendspace account (like I do), it could be uploaded to that and then you could share just a link to download the file without having to give access to the actual file.  Then, if you decide that enough people have downloaded it, you could delete the file from the hosting site and the link would no longer work.

Just a suggestion.

Finally saw Star Wars over the weekend.

I wasn't crazy over it. I felt it was "too serious". It didn't have the fun the original three films had. The younger actors didn't impress me.

I slept eight hours last night.

Hard to believe tomorrow is the first day back from the laid-back life of two weeks on work blackout. I am not rested and I feel as if I will be shot out of a cannon, whether I'm awake or not.

To add to the Foyle's War comments, I thought that seasons one through five were great, but I sort of lost interest in six and seven. Season eight, though, I really loved. Looking forward to season nine.

I slept quite poorly; my left leg was not doing well last night and refused to settle down.  Around 1:30am, I figured to hell with it and took a Tylenol with codeine. After 2:00am ir si, I slept quite nicely.

I did have a doozy of a dream: I was cleaning the bathroom of my family's home on Goldman Aveniue and I noticed the tiles around the window were coming loose, so I started taking them off the wall to redo them.  The tiles were various colors, some blue, some had patterns, some were nearly white with green leaves ad other designs.  My dad came in to see what I was doing, told me what I needed to purchase at the hardware store to remount the tiles, and then he noticed that the wakk behind the toilet was off-kilter, so he pushed on it and the wall collapsed.  I ran into what was once my bedroom and tried to push the wall back up while I yelled for my mother.  she came in and removed a to of clothes off hangers and helped me push the wall back up. Then I went to the hardware store, but i have no idea who drove me there.  It was a stout, older lady.

Into my iced coffee
And dry the tears with
The sun on my face.

Next to the movie theater is a pizza restaurant, so we might go there afterward.  I don't want to have a big meal before the movie to lessen the possibility of needing to "go down the hall," as my sister says, during the movie.

Which is of course different from the "hall pass" that Kathy Griffin kept referring to with Anderson Cooper on New Years Eve.

Kind of having a craving for Mexican food, so maybe I'll mosey on over to Casa Vega for an enchilada and a taco.  If not, I suppose I'll just do Jerry's and be done with it.  Then I'll come home and there will be no viewing of anything until I've written seven to ten pages.

I learned recently that a little (seats 18) mom-and-pop Indian restaurant that I used to frequent but had closed has now reopened in the same space. Yay! Very good food and quite affordable. They've changed things a bit. Their vegetarian combo plate (more than I can eat at one time) is now $6.95--cheaper than one of their nearby competitors. And they now offer an all-you-can-eat buffet for $10.95--copying one of their other competitors. I went over there today, all bundled up, and ate a nourishing meal, plus brought enough food home for at least two more meals. One can only eat so much soup, right? (And I'm a soup lover.)

I'm annoyed with PBS. They changed their website again and I can no longer stream from it. That means no DOWNTON ABBEY, no SHERLOCK, no CALL THE MIDWIFE. The latter two will likely be available on Netflix at some point, but not DA. DA has an exclusive contract with Amazon. So I'll have to buy it or borrow it. I am not pleased.

In November, I bought a ticket to see Glenn Close reprise her role in a semi-staged production of Sunset Blvd. with the English National Opera this spring in London.

Well, the ticket arrived in the mail before I moved last month, and since the move I couldn't find it.  Today, I went through all the un-packed boxes and things like that to be sure I hadn't missed it in the un-packing.  Well, when I thought all was lost, I looked in a small box that I had overlooked twice now in my search, and there it was.

I think I'm done for the day!

Thanks for the vibes. So far I'm getting off easy with this cold. I'm a bit feverish off and on, but few other symptoms besides fatigue. It's more of a part-time thing, rather than a full-time thing. And for that I am most grateful, as I'm still working on my 2015 to-do list.

DR Jeanne, I'm sorry you've joined DR Vixmom and me in the cold club...

Thanks, Ginny. Are you feeling any better?

Yes, thanks.  I think tomorrow I'll finally get out to visit Mom.

I'm sure it'll feel good to get out. It always boosts my spirits when I've been sick or cooped up.

Excellent news!!

I didn't see the period between DA and DA.  I couldn't figure out what program was called DA DA.

Earlier this afternoon, I was napping and I had a dream that my mom was leaving on a cruise to Toronto.  A few minutes ago I noticed what time it was, and I wondered if my mom's ship had sailed yet.  She has been dead for twenty two years this month.

Very weird.

Have you seen the movie in 2D, George? If so, let us know the differences you experience between the two formats.

I did see the 2D last week with my sister.  The main difference is the aspect ratio.  The regular widescreen is more cropped at the top and bottom.  The IMAX format is closer to TV ratio...more square.  The other obvious difference is, of course, the 3D, which is pretty cool.  3D may not be necessary, but it is fun to watch.

Next to the movie theater is a pizza restaurant, so we might go there afterward.  I don't want to have a big meal before the movie to lessen the possibility of needing to "go down the hall," as my sister says, during the movie.

;)

Which is of course different from the "hall pass" that Kathy Griffin kept referring to with Anderson Cooper on New Years Eve.

But, of course!

But when I got home, my sister called. She and I are both beginning to worry about our parents. They are in their late 80s and a few things have begun to happen to make it seem as if they probably shouldn't be working so hard to maintain their house.

Any suggestions on how to have that talk and make sure they understand you respect them and are just trying to help them instead of pushing them out of the picture?

I guess I've done eleven pages, but more if you count the additions I made to earlier sections.  Muse Margaret absolutely loved what she read.  She said she was howling with laughter the whole time, but loved the characters and the form of the book - so that was great to hear.  When I was giving her the pages, I told her there was only one thing that was bugging me and that was the set up in the first chapter.  I knew the chapter itself and the set-up was fine, but I'd weirdly written it in the third person because I wanted to phrase a couple of things a certain way and that worked best.  But I told her it didn't feel right to me and that it was a really easy fix to make it first person.  And I did it when I got home - it took thirty seconds.  When she called, that was her only comment - that I was right about that.  She had one other teeny-tiny thing that took two seconds to adjust.

I think if I wasn't stopping so much to do the bit of research I occasionally have to do, I would have written more today.  So, I'll shower now and then after the notes, maybe I'll write a couple more pages, since I'm in the middle of something interesting.
