Safe and Easy Travel Vibes for DR Ginny!
Thanks, DR Jane! So far, so good - smooth cab ride to the airport, curbside bag check, and I survived security. I'm a little concerned because the guy who checked my bag thought briefly that I was going to Wilmington, NC, but my boarding passes are correct. We'll see where my suitcase goes...
Last book was Ethan Mordden's new book on Sondheim.
Jane, in the days when I took long trips that is exactly what I did - one carry on item, and using three-day Fed Ex (or ground) I shipped ahead everything else I'd need.
DR Ginny, for a short trip like you took, carry-on would have been enough for me.
I'm waiting at my gate in Philadelphia for a flight to Dayton that's running about 30 minutes late - for now.
Well after about an hour of using my newly repaired computer.....I got the Display Driver failure notice and the SHUT DOWN and blue screen. So I guess there is NO way to really repair it.
SO I thought about it....and thought about it.....and then went and bought a new computer. It is okay.....BUT it has Windows 10, which I do not like.
Some of my programs are NOT compatible with W10 - including my POP Mail program, Thunderbird and Open Office. I did find AbiWord which is a WORD like program that is compatible, so I am hoping that works.
Still exploring things around the NEW computer - my advice to PC users....keep your Windows 7 or 8.1 or whatever as long as you can. Windows 10 seems to be designed for tablets and phones or whatever and NOT a desktop computer.
BUT I WILL SURVIVE.
Travel vibes for Ginny and Matthew.
We met a woman on the cruise who said she only takes a carry-on bag. She uses a service that picks her bags up a few days before her trip and they are at her location when she arrives. I wonder what that costs.

More than I would ever want to spend, I'm sure.
;)
~~~Computer Coping Vibes for Jrand!!~~~
Thank you, All, for the travel vibes. I'm in Richard's car on our way home from the airport. And so is my suitcase!
One of the best parts of the day was meeting Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who's directing Cabin in the Sky. I loved him on the TV series Castle.
I loved XP DR GEORGE....it was the first OS I ever used.
Passing through HELL vibes for MR BK
We've got a new moron on Facebook Cast Recordings named Lamoin. His stupidity makes my head explode. He just referred to Ezio Pinza as Ezio Penises.
But then I walked into the house and was enveloped by the aroma of homemade roasted red pepper soup
Hopefully, that wasn't his idea of a joke. :-\
They have been threatening snow but I have seen none ...I hope I continue seeing none
I hate to make judgments about his sense of humor but I expect it is.
Lucky. Looks like we've got about an inch. Of course that's lucky compared to REAL storms! :)
TOD: The Musical
(No, please, just kidding. Honest!)
Finished the astronaut wives book, which makes me want to immediately re-watch every movie and documentary about the space years. I did order the From the Earth to the Moon series on DVD and another one I haven't seen whose title escapes my li'l brain at the moment.
So guess what the next book is? I just got it on Kindle.. THE MARTIAN! :)
Greetings, George!
I did not enjoy the play when I read it, but that doesn't always mean anything. Friends, whose opinions I value, have called it dreadful.
I ave to decide in the next couple of days whether or not to go see DS Jed in ARCADIA this weekend. The comments have been mixed, but either way, it is three hours long.
I kind of want to see it because my friend Michael is in it, also.
Michael who?
And your friend, Jed, is also in the show.
And Deya Osborn who has done shows in Olympia.
And Jacob Tice, who is one of the best young actors around.
That guy on Facebook is like all Facebook novices - it's all about him. He's making 100 posts a day there - he should come here - we'd have forty pages of posts every day :) But we have, how shall I put it, quality.
And Deya Osborn who has done shows in Olympia.
I know who she is, and I've seen her in a couple of shows, but we've never actually met. I'm sure that she has no idea who I am.
