Well, you've read the notes, the notes didn't mess with Mr. or Ms. In-Between, and now it is time for you to post until the in-between cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIMN!
-
Welcome fifty GUESTS. Who are you people?
-
From last night (aka just a few minutes ago)...yes, Tom, I do have a good chance at being selected to usher for "The Producers." :D
-
I am trying to decide whether or not I want to go see it on March 6. It is a Sunday matinee only. The top ticket price (and probably the only price for handicap) is $110.00 which seems pretty extreme for a matinee.
-
The top ticket price for seniors at the Washington Center is only $78.00 for a Saturday night.

Big difference!

The Pantages (the Broadway Center) in downtown Tacoma.

Ahh...I was wondering. Another benefit to Olympia is that the area around the Washington Center is ENTIRELY flat. No big hills at all. And free street parking after 5pm and all weekends! ;D

It might be worth it, all the way around, to drive down to Olympia. If they have any handicap tickets available.
-
Page one? Really?
-
I did end up doing fourteen pages yesterday.
-
Listening to Jerry Goldsmith's The Trouble with Angels, and then it will be bed.

I would recommend calling the box office and talking to someone. I know they have their handicapped seats in the L row of the orchestra level. I would hope that they hold them for people who call and specifically ask for those seats.
-
BK, congrats on passing the 40,000 word mark on the new book!
-
We may get BK's book delivered by March!

Row L appears to be completely sold, but I will call them later today.

It might be that they don't allow on-line sales of that row, but the box office people will know.

Limn tree very pretty.
-
Good night, George!
-
Good night, George!
Good night, Tom. I'm off to bed now, too. And good luck with the ticket!
-
I have been awake since 3:15AM. Not voluntarily.
-
Don't meet Mr. In-Between in a dark alley...
-
And don't take a wooden nickel, either.
-
The jury is still out on woolen nickels, though.
-
What the HECK am I talking about?
-
It's almost enough to take us to page two.
-
Almost.
-
But not quite.
-
And there 'tis! PAGE TWO!!
-
At last it's Friday! Hoo and Ray!
-
Page 2 so early!
-
Good morning, all! I slept late. I remember no dreams.
-
I have no plans today. My calendar is completely empty, I am not happy about it.
-
Good morning, all.
Had at least one solid "repertory" dream (there's got to be a word for these - that one will do for now) in which I was coming to grips with this tiny one-room type space that was my new apartment (one of many of such spaces in this building where other people I knew were also living...I think) and with its furniture items and layout.
There was another significant element of the dream that I can't yet bring into focus.
-
Something about a block of older houses...and it concerned the front yards and porches...
-
Damn it to HELL.
More coffee!
-
Woolen nickels would be hard to use in making change.
-
Good morning, all.
I need more sleep.
-
DR CHAS SMITH the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates the you value people above material possessions. It also predicts that home improvement may be in the near future for you or that you may receive an unexpected offer on something you have for sale.....
DR ELMORE needs to have this dream.

More good book news from MR BK.
Irritations begone vibes for him.
-
I take off at noon today to go to some cocktail conference fun. I have no idea what seminars I'll get into. I'm hoping more for balancing flavors or herbal remedies than bar management, but we'll see. I'll take what I get.
-
I hate Windows 10.....in case you haven't heard.
-
I think that I would like to go to a Cocktail Conference.
-
Friday morning greetings! Waiting to hear from my sister who's in town until tomorrow and wants us to have some "girl time" today. Don't know what she has in mind, but I'm looking forward to it.
-
Yes TCB, I meant Silver Cloud. I keep calling it White ;)
-
Great photo, Vixmom.
-
Great photo, Vixmom.
Indeed, it is! These painting classes are very popular here and I'm hoping to take one soon.
-
My sister and I now have a plan - outlet mall, here we come!

I am truly saddened to learn of the passing of Dan Haggerty. It seems that so many folks I knew and worked with have left us in recent months (e.g. Pat Harrington, Jr., Jack Carter, Christopher Lee...).
Dan was a great guy. I first met him when he co-starred in a film I wrote, CHEYENNE WARRIOR. "You son-of-a-bitch," he said to me with a mock frown. "This is the only time I've ever been killed in a movie."

Is winter over yet? It is so cold!

Great story.

Oy! My bank's credit card fraud dept. just called me. Someone has my debit card info, and two charges were attempted this morning: one for $15.00 and one for $1000+, neither of which I made.
Color that debit card dead.

From DR TCB:
Sunday, January 31 is apparently the busy matinee for our show. It currently looks like it is about 2/3 of the house. The biggest problem with Tacoma Little Theatre is that it is all street parking only. I would suggest being at the theater between 1:15 and 1:30. The tickets are in my name at Will Call. There might be a line inside to pick up tickets, but it moves fast.
Thanks for the info. We will do our best to be there that early. We want to check into our hotel early, not that we will have much with us to check in.
-
I think that I would like to go to a Cocktail Conference.
We should definitely hold a Cocktail Conference as an HHW event when you take a trip to New York.
We could also go to Red Lobster and hold a Shrimp Cocktail Conference. That could be fun also.

Three!

I'm up, I'm up - maybe seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
And don't take a wooden nickel, either.
The jury is still out on woolen nickels, though.
But if it's an antique, it might actually be worth more than 5¢.
;)

That stinks, DR Elmore, and I hope they get the account straightened out and the card replaced for you ASAP.

Just when I think my life's hit the bottom, I am reminded it can go lower. I have to get through Tuesday before I see any movement in my bank account. Keep them vibes coming!
-
My sister and I had a fruitful (for me) trip to the outlet mall and a nice visit with Mom. I dropped her off at their hotel and we're all regrouping to meet for dinner at the barbecue place.
-
Vibes for DR Elmore!

Central Avenue & McKinley, next to what used to be Lewis Drugs. We'll go there the next time you're in town.

You got 'em!

I thank you all for the Vibes!
I've had some delicious chicken stew from my freezer, but I'm really craving some shepherd's pie. I may have to try making that next week,

Here is the modest collection of books I picked up at ALA Midwinter in Boston - mostly free ARCs (advance reader copies), but the Orlando travel guide I bought for $1.00 to get ready for the annual conference in June:

Another disgusting morning, but I got through it - I literally wanted to kill everyone. I futzed and finessed - where I left off last night was not pleasing to me at all, which is probably why I was struggling with it - so I cut that entire page, wrote an additional page earlier that was pretty funny, and I've done six pages so far. Had a patty melt and no fries or onion rings for lunch.
-
Writing vibes for MR BK and continued Evil Begone Vibes as well.
-
Hello!
-
TOD:
Bluray: A Star is Born(1976)--not of my favorites of Barbra's but her singing is great
CD: One Touch of Venus
CD in car: Jeepers Creepers
-
Finished with my brief meeting and now it's back to writing.
-
I did just pass page two hundred.
-
Topic of the Day: I just finished listening to Pink Martini's first recording, "Sympathique (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000005IQ6/)." They are so good!
-
Any now, I must leave. We're having a staff forum for the Youth Services Coordinator with the three candidates. Pre-chosen questions will be asked of each then there's a bit of a meet-and-greet. I can't stay for the whole thing because I have to leave to work concessions downtown. So, I'm off.
Be back later.
-
Nine pages so far and finished the chapter. So, two more chapters to go, I think. I have about six more pages I'd like to do tonight, but have to take a little break right now.
-
VIBES FOR DR ELMORE!
-
I wish I would stop hick-cupping.

Let me know how the Anne Tyler is. I love the title, "Vinegar Girl."

Vibes for DR Michael.

TOD:
DVD: The Merry Widow with Lana Turner and Fernando Lamas, Lost episodes of Carol Burnett
CD: Sara Zahn sings Carolyn Leigh
Car CD: The Crossing by Michael Connelly
-
So I worked 15 hours today
-
Good day at the Cocktail Conference.
-
I learned how to make and mix bitters while sipping on an old-fashioned.
-
And I have to work tomorrow just to get into a reasonable place
-
Then I learned how to make shrubs while sipping on a Moscow mule and a margarita.
-
All for the sake of education.
-
And for charity.
-
'Cause that's the kind of guy I am.
-
The interesting thing is that, now that I know how to make shrubs, why do I need to do that? I don't usually use them in my cocktails.
-
I only have 4 more work days until action and my desk looks like a paper factory blew up on my desk
-
And I have to work tomorrow just to get into a reasonable place
I'm sorry to read that, Vixmom.
-
I would like to,get us to page 5 but I si,ply do not have the energy
-
Good night
-
Fernando Lamas, when he sings, says he's "dweaming."
It's as if he's channeling Barbara Wawa.
-
Good night
Good night, Vixmom. And pleasant, vacation dreams.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Had a lot of trouble starting the new chapter. I just kept writing, not liking, rewriting, not liking, then I finally decided on a better way to begin it, but it's been slow going all night. I've done ten pages, but I may just stop, unless I shower and get inspiration. I'm also trying to decide if I should consolidate the two remaining chapters into one really long one.
-
Everybody must be partying this Friday night.
-
I did that earlier today.
-
Gwen Verdon seems to be the lead Jack Cole dancer in this version of Merry Widow. She's dancing a can-can, of course.
-
The rest of Maxim's, however, does not look like the restaurant I ate at more than 35 years ago.
-
Can page five be far behind?
-
Or far ahead?
-
Or far off?
-
Or far afield?
-
Five!
-
Good evening.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Listening to some music, will shower in a moment, and see if I can get a couple more pages done. I can never believe that I get annoyed with myself when I've written ten pages - that's a LOT of pages.
-

I am also curious. I hope you enjoy all the books you picked up at the ALA.

Sorry. I hope your boss is also working.
-
DR Vixmom, Vibes you complete your work before your vacation begins.
-
I think the sole purpose of this remake of the Merry Widow was simply to show Lana Turner in both black and white merry widows. On that term, it succeeded admirably. There have been lousier excuses for movies.
-
But I must go to bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
Good evening!
-
This has been a very strange day.
-
Took a shower and cleared my mind and figured out how to begin what will now be the final chapter. I was flailing all evening, and when I flail it's just really hard to write anything at all. It's like pulling teeth. Once I found the much better way to begin it, everything fell right into place and I wrote two pages instantly and then I was able to cut and paste what I'd written earlier so that it worked and all in all I did write fourteen pages. Whew!
-
I only managed three hours of sleep last night.
-
I was up at six a.m., but I was pretty useless all day.
-
I napped on and off in my chair all day.
-
I decided to catch up on the posts on my laptop in the bedroom.
-
I read the first couple pages and then pulled a Vixmom. I fell asleep for two hours with my laptop and my computer table balanced on my lap. How I managed to do that without spilling everything on the floor is anyone's guess.

-
I then decided to read all of today's e-mails that I hadn't bothered to read today. I now wish that I hadn't read them. I received an e-mail informing me that one of my oldest and dearest friends, Patsy, died Tuesday afternoon.
-
I am devastated by the news, but not totally surprised. The other day, perhaps it was Tuesday, I got the feeling or premonition that she was gone, but told myself that I was wrong because I hadn't heard anything more from her son.
He wrote this afternoon to say she was gone, apologized for the delay, and informed me that there would be no service for her (her request).

Topic of the Day, Part 2: I'm watching the NYC Opera 1990 production of "A Little Night Music," with Sally Ann Howes as Desiree.
