Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at Sterling's 64, and now it is time for you to post until the 64 cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LUDIC!
-
BK, Congrats on the very successful latest Kritzerland show!
-
And a Very Happy Birthday to (occasional) DR Charles Pogue!!
-

And hopes that all DRs feeling under the weather are soon restored to full health!
-
Today is a holiday for some, but not for me. So, off to work!
-
The Kritzerland show sounds great - glad that it all went so well!
-
And it sounds like bk will be finishing up his new tome today!
-
Good morning, all! I slept poorly, and i believe this is affecting my mental health. I am quite unhappy today. I will do the laundry, try to get some work accomplished on my taxes, and try to stay out of mischief.
-
BK, Congrats on the very successful latest Kritzerland show!
Ditto!
-
I dreamed that I was working at Barnes & Noble with a Miami classmate Karen Eifert. I was having major problems with my timecard.
-
I also remember something of a dream in which writer Stephen Cole appeared. I have no idea now what it might be about.

I also remember something of a dream in which writer Stephen Cole appeared. I have no idea now what it might be about.
I had a dream where people were arguing and coming to blows over perfect rhymes vs. slant rhymes and near rhymes, and I'm pretty sure Stephen Cole was in that one too. I forget what side of the issue he was on in the dream.
-
Good morning, all.
The dusting of snow we got is almost all leaf-blown off the driveway. This weekend we shan't be having it so easy, for the party will be over then.
Coffee!
-
My dream at first involved my placing certain objects in certain areas of some outdoor scene or venue, which was supposed to be done at more or less correct intervals (of time). But I was kind of getting ahead of myself and decided to wait a bit and start over. There was other stuff involved which is gone from my memory. As I began to wake up, the opening statement of Mahler's First played once, clear as a bell, in my head, and I realized those note intervals (the descending fourths over the sustained A) were exactly what the first part of the dream represented. Which I then immediately doubted, as dreams twist and turn, but even now it makes a weird kind of sense. I'm still trying to capture what the rest of the dream was, and I can't shake the feeling it related somehow to one the night before, or had the same tone.
-
Kritzerland show sounds wonderful, and I do look forward to some videographic evidence.
-
Happy Birthday, ODR Charles Pogue!

Monday morning greetings! It's ver-r-r-r-ry cold here in SW Ohio. Richard and I are going to a class at the public library this afternoon on how to use their research databases. I used to teach a class like this in Dayton...

I enjoyed reading about the show.....it sounds like a BIG HIT. And of course I am looking forward to photographic and video evidence.
Finishing the book vibes for MR BK....already!!!

I hate people who linger.....after the show..... At our facility, I tell cast members, talk to your friends someplace else..... They stand in the way when we're trying to sweep the house of all of the popcorn and programs and ticket stubs and candy wrappers that they've thrown on the floor....
The show is over.....go someplace else us to talk. THEN they stand outside by their cars talking and talking....and of course we can't leave the property while people are still there.....so we wait and wait and wait.....

I'm feeling warmer with every post.

I have finished the laundry, and now i need to get myself motivated to accomplish something positive. I'd rather go back to bed.

TOD:
I'd love to see the movie theater of my childhood restored, but it ain't happening.
Also, I remember a kind of children's sociology textbook about life on the farm, in the small town and in the big city from when I was younger that has disappeared. I'd love to see those old illustrations again. I'm sure the book was deplorable. The farm life was tough and the urban life was a nightmare, but the small town suburban life, as I recall, was ideal. Well, it didn't reflect my suburban life.

Great photo, Vixmom. I hope you told JoseSPiano that he's missed in these parts.

Do you think it has changed much since you taught the class?
I hope so, DR Jane - it's been 10 years!
The class was moderately informative. The biggest difference from when I taught this material is that now they talk about accessing the resources on mobile platforms like tablets and smartphones. What hasn't changed is that very few library users know about them and those who do are reluctant to use them. Richard and I were the only 2 in today's class.

DR Ginny went right to THE HEAD OF THE CLASS! ;D

DR Jrand65 - no announcement yet, but there just might be some sort of limited extension, once again.

I must be going. I'm first going to get something to eat at Taco Del Mar (my regular Monday lunch place), then a little later I'm going to meet a couple of friends to see "The Big Short."

Be back later.

So an audition that I referred to cryptically back in November has come to fruition. I am a founding member of the 45-voice American Public Media Radio Choir. Our debut is at Orchestra Hall this Saturday. We are performing a work called "Seven Psalms," a setting of 7 Psalms from the Bible for tenor soloist, choir, and jazz quartet. Plus some very intricate settings of songs by Sia and Dave Matthews. The whole reason for being of this choir is to get people singing and to engage folks in singing. So while we'll do occasional performances, the bulk of our activity will be events like singing in schools and prisons and organizing community sings. It's a great group of talented folks, and I am thrilled to be a part of something new and full of exciting energy.
-
I futzed and finessed and wrote a new couple of pages, but something was not feeling right about this section I'd just done. I'd had that feeling when I did it - I waffled back and forth and finally went with it. But it explains why writing the last five pages has been so difficult - it just wasn't right, and it's also why I was having trouble feeling motivated. So, I went and had a bacon and cheese omelet and a bagel and decided to completely change the tack I was on. Thankfully, by rearranging some things I was able to keep a lot of what I'd written, but it plays so much better now without the encumbrance I'd put on it and it was suddenly easy to write because it was right. Of course, making that change means I haven't written any additional pages yet today. Richard Sherman is coming over shortly to play his song for the LA show - when that's done I will really buckle down Winsocki and write new pages and hopefully finish the chapter so I can begin on the addendum.
-
Congrats to DR SINGDAW on his new gig.
-
Writing: I guess when it's right, it feels like it's right.
-
Thanks, DR Jrand65!
-
Well, since DR George isn't here...

And since we ARE so close...

Begin the Addendum.....one of my favorite Cole Porter tunes.

Congratulations, DR Singdaw!

Congrats Singdaw!

Yesterday Vixmom asked "Cilla are you able to see all the candidates or are you limited to seeing the ones In the party with which you are registered?"
Anyone can go see the candidates, whether you are eligible to vote or whether you are registered for a party or whatever. You have to register for a party to caucus, but you can register or change your registration at the door. You have to caucus in your own precinct and obviously must be an Iowa resident. Actually a lot of people come from other states just to see the candidates and observe the process.
I think I'll go see Bernie tomorrow night. He's going to have a huge crowd. It's a lot like it was when Obama ran the first time. Lots and lots of young people very excited about him
The one thing I see different in going to the events this time is that they do take your name at the door. They want to know everyone who goes in. You don't even need to give phone or email so I think it's more security than gathering contact info. You can also get a free evite ticket. That just speeds up getting in the door because they already have your info
-
Congrats to DR SINGDAW on his new gig.
Ditto!

This is great. DR slingshot! Would your choir be interested in some choral music I wrote?

Good evening from frigid northern Virginia! It's 20 degrees right now. Of course it's no where near as cold as DR singdaw's area.

After that, we are all going to The Olive Garden for dinner. Fortunately, there will be enough time between TDM and TOG that I won't still be full...probably.

I went to the Olive Garden for lunch with a friend/former coworker.

It was laundry day here too.

Well, a big storm is coming Friday. There may be as much as 2 feet of snow by Sunday. I will be in the Big Apple, which may have 5-8 inches of snow on Saturday, according to the Weather Channel website.
-
I am attending the first "broadwaycon, " a 3-day celebration of Broadway. I have to wonder why they picked January for this event, considering the potential for bad weather.
-
Congrats on another successful show, BK!
-
Happy Birthday to DR Charles Pogue!
-
Nice photo of DR vixmom and former DR Jose!
-
That should be amazing, DR KevinH, providing the weather does not hinder too much. I hope you'll report here on everything you see and experience in The Big Apple!
-
DR elmore3003 - it could well be. But I am far removed from the music selection process. I could certainly put in a good word for you!
-
And today's HHW Powerball is:
108
-
I ended up cutting another three pages - just feeling repetitious and like it's time to get to the end. Sometimes less is more and sometimes you have to believe you have enough laughs and maybe it's time for a little calmness and introspection for the characters. So, even though I've done new pages, it feels like I'm behind. But I'm mushing on.
-
Mush! Mush!
-
Hello, everyone.
Thanks for all the vibes. I am feeling better.
-
Belated Anniversary Wishes for DR Ginny and DS Richard!

My condolences to TCB.

Enjoyed the photo of Vixmom and Mr Piano.

Congrats to Singdaw on his new choir. I hope you find it very satisfying.

DR Jane recently asked about my eyes.
I can now read fine without glasses (needed reading glasses before), as well as do things around the apartment. I need glasses to drive, though, which was the plan. As for the side effects of the surgery, I'd say that the headaches are slowly diminishing, but the other side effects remain, although minor.
-
DR Jane also asked if I write.
Yes. Professionally, I've done extensive technical and business writing, as well as a bit of healthcare. I also write for my own pleasure, but that may or may not be published.
-
It may have been a holiday, but I was busy all day, doing laundry, paying bills, and getting the bad news from my tax accountant. He says I made too much money. How?
-
Congrats to BK on his successful Kritzerland show and his incredible pace on the new book.
-
We actually had a few droplets of rain. What's the world coming to?
-
TTFN.
-
Thanks, DRs Ginny, Cillaliz, Jane, elmore3003, and Jeanne! :)
-
"A Little Fall of Rain." Isn't that how they put it in Les Miz?

Lucky #125!

Hello, everyone.
Thanks for all the vibes. I am feeling better.
I'm glad to hear this. Be even better vibes!!!

Except for the side effects, which I hope will go away with time, I think your change in vision sounds pretty good.
-
DR Jane also asked if I write.
Yes. Professionally, I've done extensive technical and business writing, as well as a bit of healthcare. I also write for my own pleasure, but that may or may not be published.
This is interesting. I have many friends who write for their own pleasure. I think it is great you do so.
-
I am quite concerned about the snow forecast as Friday is the day we are driving to Florida I would much prefer not to be driving in a blizzard
-
Singssongs the choral group sounds amazing.. Will you be featured at all on NPR?
-
Continued getting well vibes for Elmore
-
Finally finished the last chapter. I found a nice way to end it - something came to me in the shower, which is why I took the shower. And now I've begun the addendum. It probably won't be more than three to five pages long and this book in manuscript form will probably come in at 240 pages, twenty pages less than the Hofstetter books, yet with more words. Mushing on.
-
GOOD WEATHER PLUS SAFE AND EASY TRAVEL VIBES FOR DR VIXMOM!!
-
No more mush!
No more mush!

No more mush!
No more mush!
What are we, in Oliver! all of the sudden?
-
bk is really in the final final stretch!
-
Mucho (not musho) congratulations to DR SingSing on the inception of an amazing choral adventure!
-
Thanks, DRs vixmom and ChasSmith!
-
Tonight is a laundry night for me, too.
-
I am glad to read about the improvement in DR Jeanne's vision, and hope that the ill side effects may soon and fully dissipate.
-
Wonderful news about Jeanne's vision improvements
-
I am pleased to say did not get rained on at all today.
-
I'm keeping an eye on the Friday weather forecast right along with vixmom. I need the excitement to start late that night at the earliest.
-
I have just finished a new book. Whew! I'm sure there will be much futzing and finessing of the last twenty pages, but that's normal and I may even do some of that later tonight. I'll be up by nine to print, the Xerox, then take to Muse Margaret. I did write one line that came out of absolutely nowhere that almost made me fall off my chair, laughing.
-
Greetings...
Anniversary wishes to Ginny!
-
WE are supposed to be moving into positive digits after being in the deep freeze this past weekend.
-
Congrats bk on successfully completing your latest book.
I've been working on a few things. Who knows I just might pull it off.
-
Great to see you, DakotaCelt.
-
Congratulations, Singdaw. Will we be able to hear some selections at some point?
-
Six!

I am attending the first "broadwaycon, " a 3-day celebration of Broadway. I have to wonder why they picked January for this event, considering the potential for bad weather.
Sounds like fun, KevinH. Perhaps the weather is why they scheduled it in January.

Hi DR Dakota :)

Singdaw is a talented person! Kudos!
-
Nice to see you too, John G.
-
Glad to read that Jeanne is doing better..
Greetings Jane!
-
Good night, all.
-
Dakota I was able to collect some post cards and things to send you. I just need to confirm your address and find time to go to the post office. Sometimes I miss having a car.
-
DR elmore, just for you I almost didn't change my typo of pist office. It seemed a more appropriate title for your local office.

Rehearsal went well tonight.

Great! Can't wait to see it!

One of the ladies in our cast returned from the land of the flu last night, but she actually had most of her voice back tonight.
Interesting tidbit: Her doctor told her that her strain of flu was not included in this year's vaccine.

Makes you feel secure doesn't it.
