Well, you've read the notes, the notes noted that the muse approves, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're happy that the MOOS approves.
-
And the word of the day is: APOSIOPESIS!
-
The first post that someone other than BK has attempted to post!
-
I bought a Sausage McMuffin with egg on my way home from rehearsal. It was the only thing I had to eat all day. I like being able to have one any time of the day or night.
-
I am home, e-mail has been checked, and FIRST POST AFTER TCB AFTER BK!!
;)
-
I am very tired tonight, but, at the same time, I am still keyed-up from rehearsal.

What a coinkydink! On my way home from the movie last night (not even an hour ago), I bought a Sausage McMuffin...with no egg but with extra cheese. It was pretty good.
-
These were the nights I hated when I was still working.
-
But now, I don't have that worry.

You don't care for eggs?

I like them, but they're $2.99 each with the egg versus $1.00 without. Then, I can get (and last night actually got) two of them.
-
That's a big savings. ;D
-
But I do get them with the egg every once in a while.

The Sausage McMuffin without egg is only one dollar?? Why didn't I know this??
-
How much is extra cheese?

It's on the menu but it's not featured prominently. You have to pay attention and look for it.
-
How much is extra cheese?
It's interesting. Here at the Tumwater McD's, it's 50 cents extra, but at the downtown Olympia and Lacey McD's, they charge only 30 cents for extra cheese. Not fair if you ask me, but that's just the difference between franchises.
-
Your Tacoma pricing may vary.
-
The sausage is my favorite part of the sandwich anyway.

Mine, too.

Well, I need to get to sleep. Today at work, I need to finish invoicing for the month and prepare the monthly report for the business office a day early because we lost an employee (not through death...because of legal issues).
Good night, Tom!

Good night, Tom!
Yes, I should probably go to sleep myself. I have to be up by 11:00 am.
-
Good night, George!
-
You have to pay attention and look for it.
That's always my problem. :P
-
Good night, guys.
-
Good morning, world!
-
Things get off to a bang this morning with an early dental cleaning.
-
I am extremely uncomfortable with the idea of DR vixmom driving in what is looking to be a really significant storm.
-
Is there any way you can move your trip up one day, or postpone one day, DR vixmom?
-
Well, since we're so close... :)
-
PAGE TWO.
-
Dance, Schmance.
-
good morning to all
-
safe driving vibes to vixmom.
-
ask bk
Is there somewhere out there a recording of Elmer Bernstein only Oscar winning score for Thoroughly Modern Millie? If so is this a recording you might consider to release?
As far as I know I have only seen a recording that contains the biplanes flying sequence and other film themes
-
Good morning, all! I slept rather well.
I remember a strange dream with a zombie battle that went on forever and a dream about working at the Miami University Library and being terminated for stealing books and defacing them. The dream included several dead librarians I worked with, 1965-1971, and several librarians who are alive today. When I awoke, i was refuting the charges and attempting to save my job.
-
After a week of inertia, we are back to CABIN IN THE SKY. I will go to City Center after I stop at my HMO brach for lab work, which I may follow up with a trek to the pharmacy for my monthly meds.
-
Good morning, all.
Up a bit early this morning because I'm going to the car place for an oil change and to have the snow tires put on. This is the latest I've ever been able to do that, and I appreciate the wear and tear saved this year. But well, yes, folks, it's time. With the coming of this weekend's storm, the par-tay is over.
-
It's too bad I scheduled it for first thing in the morning, because I was in a great sleep. No particular dreams that I recall at present, just a really nice solid sleep. But that par-tay had to come to an end, too.
-
We're supposed to be clear on Friday, at least till late at night. And that should mean smooth sailing for vixmom as well on Friday. But if this is a nor'easter, it complicates things because south of here is where the damned thing will be coming from, and south is where they're headed. I wonder if they might decide to pull off a late Thursday night departure instead?
-
I really want to go back to bed for another hour.
-
We should all be so lucky as to have a Muse Margaret!
-
Reporting in from FIRESTONE.
-
And in solidarity with DRs George and TCB, I'm treating myself to a Sausage McMuffin after I get out of here.
-
With egg, damn it. :)
-
Oy! I hate daytime TV, and you can't get away from it in the waiting rooms at car repair places.
But in watching the weather forecasts, I've just decided that the vixes should leave Thursday morning instead. Easy, right? Just take Thursday off, too! Problem solved. God, I'm brilliant.
-
In other news, two of my snow tires will have to be replaced, but they're not in stock so probably after this storm. They're okay to drive on, but after some eight (!) seasons of use, their ice handling properties are a thing of the past. The two better ones can wait till next season. They'll go on the front for now, since the car is front wheel drive.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! It's snowing here in SW Ohio, but should clear up for our theatre outing to Dayton this evening. Mary Linda tried to leave for work, but came back home and will telecommute today. Rob worked midnight-8am, so who knows how long it will take him to get home. Becky and I had plans for coffee together this morning, but rescheduled to tomorrow after hearing the weather forecast at dinnertime last night. Richard is the smartest one - he's just waking up...
-
Good morning, all.
Warm vibes for all.
-
Is there any way you can move your trip up one day, or postpone one day, DR vixmom?
That would be great if you could leave early.
-
Slapjack, I'm with you on being worried about Vixmom's drive.
-

Thanks for the weather update.

Great opening number, BK.
-
Great opening number, BK.
Made me laugh out loud!
-
DR Kevin are you flying, or taking the train, to NY tomorrow?
-
Back home. And that sausage/egg/cheese McMuffin was excellent. I hadn't had one in years, but those posts were somehow ... inspiring ... and it tasted so good I was very tempted to get another. For better or worse, reason prevailed, and I am sitting here sipping the rest of the McDonald's coffee. (Medium, black, if you must know. And you must, you must.)
-
And now that I'm back at a proper computer (as opposed to an improper one, I guess), I'm able to watch the video -- which is wonderful. That was the other number I'd really been hoping to see. Thanks, BK.
-
Travel vibes for DR VIXMOM & Co.
-
Such a cute video in the notes!!! Those little girls are very talented!!!
And good news about the BOOK and Muse Margaret.
-
We had 15 guests just a moment ago.....and now they have all gone away.
-
It's interesting. Here at the Tumwater McD's, it's 50 cents extra, but at the downtown Olympia and Lacey McD's, they charge only 30 cents for extra cheese. Not fair if you ask me, but that's just the difference between franchises.
Can I get the Sausage McMuffin Happy meal with a large order of Franchise?
-
You can get McDonald's delivery in Manhattan, but there's a $10 minimum.
-
It takes a lot of McDonald's calories to reach the $10 minimum if you're ordering for one person.
-
Travel vibes to vixmom!!!
-
Well, I'm back from my journey to Orlando. I had a lovely time at the conference and a fun time at Walt Disney World. Glad to be home with the DD and the rest of my life.
-
I have a meeting this morning that I'm not really looking forward to going to - theatre related, of course, cuz anything that's not being creative in the theatre is just getting me down lately. I'm hoping for a few outcomes, but I'm not taking any BS from anyone.
-
Speaking of theatre - I have auditions today for The Lion King Jr. I will keep working in places where I feel I am respected and that my creativity won't be stifled by controlling board members and immature Artistic Directors and bullying Music Directors.
-
Oh, did I just post that last post? Hmmm.....
-
I haven't eaten anything at a McDonald's since I was in Italy in 2014. I have, however, drank.
-
I have no doubt the score for Thoroughly Modern Millie exists somewhere at Universal, but Universal is tough.
-
I'm up, I'm up - a bit over eight hours of sleep, maybe eight and a half.
-
And yes, we'd issue it if that were possible.
-
The little girl who plays Mazeppa will absolutely be back at Kritzerland.
-
safe driving vibes to vixmom.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
-
And in solidarity with DRs George and TCB, I'm treating myself to a Sausage McMuffin after I get out of here.
Nobody says you can't. More power to you! ;D
Did you happen to notice the price difference (for your area) between the Sausage McMuffin with the egg and without? I'm just curious.
Welcome home, Matthew!
No, I didn't. I'll check that next time.
I hadn't had either one in some years, and I just ordered what I knew I wanted. The process was aggravated and delayed by the fact that the person manning the drive-thru intercom was distracted by someone else inside talking to her. I counted myself lucky not to have to correct the order.
-
I'm wondering if I would have guessed what the book is by now? Not sure there's been enough clews strewn about.
-
Speaking of theatre - I have auditions today for The Lion King Jr. I will keep working in places where I feel I am respected and that my creativity won't be stifled by controlling board members and immature Artistic Directors and bullying Music Directors.
That's nice -- I didn't even know there was a Jr. version.
So are you not the BMD :) on this one yourself? Or am I misreading that?
-
(In fixing something, I inadvertently blew that post out of the water! All fixed now.)
-
Hmm...
Looks like some nice person has posted a review on Amazon... :)
-
Excellent review!
-
And I am home from City Center! 4 hours to do three numbers. My lab tests were a disaster since my doctor, who told me to book the appointment three months ago, didn't send a test request to the lab, I went to McDonald's, had coffee and a sausage Mcmuffin with egg, and went to City Center.
Such a day!
-
Meeting vibes for DR MATTHEW.
-
So it seems the new book is a series of meetings that take place in various restaurants.....and it's mostly the story of ONE of the two people who keep meeting.....hmmmmm.....
Maybe it's about the writing of a show.....about LA!!!
-
Your twin cousin Skippy must have posted that.
I haven't eaten anything at a McDonald's since I was in Italy in 2014. I have, however, drank.
I drink a lot of McDonald's decaf. I find their coffee excellent.
-
Four!
-
Back from a omelet and a bagel and picking up stuff from the mail place. Now to write new pages - oh, I don't have to do that today :)
-
One video last night took an hour to upload. I'm uploading one now - four minutes.
-
I'll try to upload at least five videos today.
-
I went to McDonald's, had coffee and a sausage Mcmuffin with egg
One! of! us!
Damn it to HELL, DR Jrand65. That's not bad.
But if it turns out not to be the correct answer, then it can be BK's next book! :D
-
Uploading video number five.
-
Site suddenly slowed way down for me. It's intermittently okay and not okay.
-
Glanced at the page a moment ago when there were thirteen guests, and I swear I saw the status line as:
ChasSmith and 13 Ghosts are viewing this topic.
-
CHAS AND THE 13 GHOSTS - that could be the title of a large-cast Christmas musical
-
Directed by William Castle in Kimmel-O-Rama!
-
Site's fine for me.
-
Fine for me is the site.
-
Me for the site is fine.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Oh, did I just post that last post? Hmmm.....
;D I hope the auditions went well.
-
I had trouble logging in to HHW for a while earlier, but all seems fine now.
-
Picked up the two copies of the new book for proofing - one for me and one for Adryan Russ.
-
We had a couple of excellent sightings on our walk. There is a Bald Eagle that lives near us and we saw him. Then, the truly exciting part, we saw either a seal or a sea lion swimming in the river.
Sometimes I really want to kick myself for not carrying binoculars.
DR Kevin are you flying, or taking the train, to NY tomorrow?
I have a 10 am flight. I'm flying back Monday (I think)- I'm wondering what I'll find when I get back!
-
Yes, the end of the world is coming to the Washington area. We're expecting an "historic" storm, per the weatherman.
-
DR vixmom--you asked about our forecast. Here's the latest: snow starting Friday afternoon-the heaviest starting at 10 pm.
-
Yes, the end of the world is coming to the Washington area. We're expecting an "historic" storm, per the weatherman.
When will it hit? Maybe Craig will have the day off from work.
-
I had asked, and the sight is being slow for me which is why I did not see the answer to my question before I asked it :)
-
Thanks for answering my question. Craig should be home safe from work before the storm hits and be stuck home during the weekend, if it really hits.
-
Site is fine for me......but I haven't been here for a bit.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Bruce, can I provide a hint?
-
And the gazelle has written a novel??
Why, the nerve...
-
Question for BK:
Bruce, I've never known anyone to write so fast. Do you enjoy that pace or, given fewer projects, would you prefer to take it more leisurely?
-
It's interesting. Here at the Tumwater McD's, it's 50 cents extra, but at the downtown Olympia and Lacey McD's, they charge only 30 cents for extra cheese. Not fair if you ask me, but that's just the difference between franchises.
Can I get the Sausage McMuffin Happy meal with a large order of Franchise?
If you buy the franchise, Fred, I think you could get anything you want.
-
Methinks that Sausage McMuffins are very popular with the populace.
-
Travel vibes to DR Kevin and also the Vixfam.
-
I was happy to see Dakota Celt here the other night. I hope she returns.
-
Does anyone have an update on DR Ron?
-
I think it's time to feed my face--but not Sausage McMuffin.
TTFN.
-
Methinks that Sausage McMuffins are very popular with the populace.
I don't know about you but I find the thought of them rather disgusting ;D
-
Does anyone have an update on DR Ron?
He has improved enough that he was able to return to work yesterday. He has been taking it easy.
-
Sometimes I really want to kick myself for not carrying binoculars.
Or a camera??
;)
-
Why is this article written in past tense. It begins "Washington, D.C., was bracing....."
-
It took awhile for that to post.
-
The sausage is my favorite part of the sandwich anyway.
I had a Sausage Biscuit with egg for breakfast. I like the biscuit better than the muffin
-
Methinks that Sausage McMuffins are very popular with the populace.
I don't know about you but I find the thought of them rather disgusting ;D
I have never tried one as it doesn't sound appealing to me. But i do like the regular egg mcmuffin.
-
I'm Enjoying the political game going on here. I did go see Bernie....I didn't feel the Bern, I did hear some really bad folk songs and had to laugh at Bernie Sanders having Disco Inferno blaring before the event
-
If I'm up early I'll go have coffee with Mike Huckabee. I won't ever vote for him, but don't see any reason not to drink coffee with him. I'm really enjoying meeting as many candidates as possible.
-
Bernie had about 1100 people there, Hillary had a couple hundred at the same venue. I think Jane asked me to report in on that
-
Good evening. I hiked the mountain again. My daughter-in-law joined me.
-
Twice in one day?
-
Does your DIL like to hike? That's a cool thing to be able to share
-
Congrats on finishing the book BK!
-
I did and thank you.
I agree and a great way to get to know her better.
I am extremely uncomfortable with the idea of DR vixmom driving in what is looking to be a really significant storm.
You and me both. I am having grave misgivings
I have been trying to talk Vixdad into that but I gave not been persuavsive enough
-
I like the way you think!
-
In January 1996 Vixdad and I were trapped in DC from Sunday to Wednesday because it didn't occur to anybody to plow until the snow stopped falling....
The report that George posted stated it has been 94 years since D C had 20 inches of snow but I would disagree. DC was paralyzed for more than 4 days dand the snip in the. Streets was well over my knees
-
I really really really want to get out of here Thursday night.....
-
So far he has agreed to 5 am on Friday
-
I was wondering if BK's book was about a restaurant reviewer
-
I truly envy you.... Maybe in 4 years I will,invite myself to visit you
-
Three days until the competition. My, how time flies when your feet are turning to lead and your mind is blank.
-
I am extremely uncomfortable with the idea of DR vixmom driving in what is looking to be a really significant storm.
You and me both. I am having grave misgivings
Don't risk it. If you can go early that's the best.
-
I'd be happy to have you come. It's really a great experience. People here really take it seriously and are very well versed on the issues. The differences between the candidates and the parties are clear. If you did come, we could road trip to some small towns where you are literally there in a coffee shop with 20 other people having a discussion with someone who could be the next president. Pretty cool when you think about it. You get a real sense for who they are as people and who has a good sense of humor. You have to have one with the conditions they are tromping through day in and day out
-
Question for BK:
Bruce, I've never known anyone to write so fast. Do you enjoy that pace or, given fewer projects, would you prefer to take it more leisurely?
I do enjoy the pace. I didn't write this this quickly because of other projects - it just came pouring out of me plus it was really fun. It's funny to look back from the beginning - the first book took nine months, the second six, the third four. The fourth took ten weeks, the fifth probably eight. Starting with the Hofstetter books, I was doing them in six weeks, then four. The astonishing ones were the two memoirs because those are over double the length of the other books and yet the first one took just under four weeks and the second one took three weeks - because those came pouring out. And then there was the year two books came out - the second being the short story collection.
-
Should I reveal what the book is?
-
In the notes?
-
Or here?
-
Finished with my viewing and am making about four ounces of pasta for a snack.
-
And when it nears the end, the celebs come to town backing a candidate, the candidates go after each other and it's totally insane. Young people will be standing on the corners jumping up and down waving signs for their candidate. People are knocking on your door, the phone is ringing off the hook, every one is talking issues and politics everywhere you go. Last time I walked into my usual coffee shop to get my morning cup of coffee and was surrounded by the national media who streamed in the door. The Newt Gingrich and his wife came in and sat at our table and talked. The national media are a kick to watch, you can't help but get the fever, and we're all a little like NASCAR fans watching to see if someone is going to crash before caucus day. Then, on caucus day, unlike elections, the campaigning goes on during the caucus until finally the vote is counted. The next day....they are all long gone and we watch from the wings to see who will win in the end. We take it seriously, go see them, listen and participate but it's insane. You'd love it.
-
Oh and did I mention every event is free.
-
Would love to know what your book is about....just no spoilers!
-
Jane, thanks for the update on Ron. I'm glad to hear he's improving. What a shock that was!
-
Should I reveal what the book is?
No, more fun to guess. And the DRs will give you some good leads for other stories. As Chas? already did.
-
That does sound fun and exciting. I had a taste of it at a Fourth of July event in Delaware many years ago. The friends I was with were good friends of Joe Biden and happily introduced me. Delaware is such a small state that it's easy to get to know your politicians.
-
Vixmom, I'm not sure this would help, but do you know about the auto train to Florida? When I as moving, I drove from Alexandria to someplace about an hour south, where my car and I boarded the auto train. It was snowing lightly. You're in a real train and can get up and move around. So much easier than driving! We got off in Sanford (?), FL and I drove the rest of the way to Palm Coast.
I realize that the issue for you is getting past NY and Washington, but maybe there's an easier way.
-
I was wondering if BK's book was about a restaurant reviewer
DR John G could be a character.
-
The dancing, writing, restaurant reviewer.
-
If Jeanne is still here I'll let her give a clew.
-
DR Jeanne I don't recall you taking a train. What a great option. In this case I think they should leave Thursday evening and go as far as possible. Of course it isn't the best option if they are too tired to drive.
-
Oops, I think it was JRand who had the story idea. Sorry, Jack.
-
If Jeanne is still here I'll let her give a clew.
OK. :)
The new book has something in common with one of the previous books, a link of sorts.
-
I lived in Alexandria for twenty years and didn't know about the auto train until my real estate agent mentioned it at almost the last minute. I love train travel--don't like flying or driving--and it was soooo much better than driving all the way. I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, it isn't always an option.
I shall say good night now.
Good night!
There! I said it.
If Jeanne is still here I'll let her give a clew.
OK. :)
The new book has something in common with one of the previous books, a link of sorts.
Oh, now I'm going to be thinking about this clew all night!
I'm home...finally. I had to stay at work until the Acquisitions end-of-the-month invoicing and reporting was done. And now, it's done.
That's great, Tom! It's definitely a wonderful thing when it happens.
I could feel the play starting to take off last night, but tonight was amazing.
Stil, this play could have used a few several rewrites.
And the playwright really wants to come Tacoma for our opening night.
Travel vibes for Kevin and for Vixmom and dad.
