Well, you've read the notes, the notes tried to find the cover, and now it is time for you to post until the covered cows come home.

And the word of the day is: SELENOLOGY!

That's wonderful! Congrats to you all!

I am still keyed up, and I have been home from the theater for two and a half hours!

Tonight, I'm ushering for “A SLICE OF THE GOOD LIFE” PIZZA KLATCH GAYLA (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/upcoming-events/2016/1/23/a-slice-of-the-good-life-pizza-klatch-gayla.html), which features Chely Wright, first popular country musician to come out as lesbian, and Richard Blanco, President Obama's inaugural poet. It's going to be a great evening!

I know. My niece is a great fan of Chely Wright and she and I got to see her perform in Seattle with the Seattle Women's Chorus.

I have got to call the Washington Center tomorrow.
-
Well, I need to go to bed now. I get to sleep in, so I actually would like to sleep. 8)
Good night, Tom and BK.

Good night, Tom and BK.
Good night, George. I should come down to earth sometime soon.

good morning to all
-
TOD
The only producer I can think of would be Roger Corman
-
Many many congrats to TCB and the company of his show!!!
-
Tod:
No
-
Congratulations to TCB and co..... Any chance there will be a educational archival footage disc which will require secure storage on the Eadt coast ?
-
How thrilling to read about DR TCB's successful opening night!!!! Congratulations to him and his entire company!
-
TOD:
When I was growing up, I don't think I knew what a producer was. I just went to the movies...every weekend.
Of course, there was that year or two in the late 1940s-early 1950s when there was a polio scare and my mother would not let me go at all. :(
-
Good morning, all! Well, I was wrong; there was a Big Storm, the snows have landed hard, and they tell us there will be more after 11:00AM.
-
I will call Joshie in an hour. I can't leave him in the lurch with this Monday rehearsal, so I'll see what he thinks of the situation. There's no guarantee if we skipped today and went in tomorrow morning that we'd accomplish everything.
-
Bravo, DR TCB! Are you changing your name to DR SRO?
-
I do not remember a single dream from last night. I do remember that my leg was not at all happy.
-
Good morning, all.
Forced hibernation day, so I might have slept in a little later. But some furry creatures wanted to be fed and I wanted to settle into the recliner more in my fleece robe than I wanted to stay in bed.
Coffee!
-
As I awoke, I could hear the winds howling and I expected to look out the window and see a solid white covering. What I found instead was just a thin dusting of snow! But we are still only on the leading edge of the storm and these things move slowly. By this afternoon we'll have several solid inches of the sh-- stuff.
-
Congrats to TCB on his amazing opening!!!
-
TOD
If I thought of producers at all, it would have to have been Corman or Castle. But I tended to be more aware of just the movies themselves.
-
Take care getting to City Center, DR Elmore!
-
I called Joshie. He thinks we should postpone until tomorrow.
I did tell him that if he started feeling antsy and decided to go into City Center, to call me. I'll come in. This weekend means a lot of work for him with correcting scores, entering the fixes, and taping scores and parts for Monday. HE doesn't need to go through all this nonsense, much of which could have been avoided, alone.
-
Now it's falling pretty heavily. And our original forecast was for it to start here at 8:00 anyway, so I think it actually got here at the appointed time.
-
My first memory of a producer's name is Irwin Allen, who took all the publicity credit at the time for "The Animal World," a 1956 (?) film I loved because of the wonderful dinosaur sequence by Willis O'Brien and Ray Harryhausen (I think).
After that Castle for "The Tingler," "Macabre," and "House on Haunted Hill."
-
HA! No new snow for us!
TOD:
William Castle, Roger Corman, Cecil B. DeMille
and Alfred Hitchcock, although we also knew he was a director.....and he was so well known from his television show.
-
Saturday morning greetings! We've had a nice pecan waffle breakfast and now I'm puttering until it's time to go visit Mom. From there Richard and I are going on a movie date to see the not-so-new Star Wars movie and to SmashBurger for dinner.
-
I am still keyed up, and I have been home from the theater for two and a half hours!
:)
-
DR George I think we are lucky to have our tickets to Second Samuel before the show sells out.
-
DR elmore is there a website for you to check if the buses are running or would you use the subway today?
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
Sounds like an opening night to remember.
-
I am still keyed up, and I have been home from the theater for two and a half hours!
Congratulations on the successful opening night, DR TCB!
-
AND A CHICKEN IN EVERY POT!
-
My adopted son Joshie sent me a message; he went into City Center to pick up the work and take it back to Astoria. He says it's treacherous out and he slipped on the subway stairs and fell down them. I told him to call me when he gets home or he'll get a lot of anxious messages from me.
I guess I really am a parent.
-
Yikes!
-
Is this work still the proofing of the score and/or parts?
-

And I was thinking there would be less chance of your slipping today, if you went out, than tomorrow.
-
DR elmore since Joshie has the work, can you do it with him using Skype and working from your homes vs together in person?
-
Is this work still the proofing of the score and/or parts?
Yep. Everything's running late.

No. I'll go to City Center.

And the taping. Don't forget the taping.
(DR elmore3003's favorite part!)
-
Tis not a fit night out for man nor beast.
-
Congratulations to DR TCB & Co on their well-deserved success. SRO vibes for the rest of the run!
It's wonderful to be in a hit!!!! There is nothing like it!!!
-
Doesn't the line go "Nothing succeeds like success" - or something like that.
-
DR elmore since Joshie has the work, can you do it with him using Skype and working from your homes vs together in person?
No. I'll go to City Center.
Go carefully and don't fall....sending good vibes!

You do know there's a travel ban in NYC including all public transportation starting at 12:30 PM
-
TV is saying it's going to be twice as bad in NYC as predicted yesterday. 24-30 inches of snow. Lots of people walking around though
-
VERY VERY Excited by TCB's posts about opening night.
-
All Broadway shows cancelled today and tonight. Everything cancelled except Saturday Night Live
-
TCB, wish I had signed on last night to share in your excitement.
-
Last night Ricky was bound and determined to get back out into the garage. Man oh man. I close the mud room door because it isn't heated very well in there - SO, he scratched an scratched and scratched at the door. I finally opened it and he ran to the garage door....no. So I took him back inside, he was fine for about 20 min and then started scratching. As I tried to go to bed....same thing. I really don't want him to destroy that door, so I trimmed his claws and took him upstairs, got him settled into bed and.....about 20 minutes later...scratch scratch scratch. Good grief. I was getting mad at this point, so I took him and shut him in the room where he and Callie sleep at night. He was fine for 20 minutes or so. This continued until 3:45 AM!!!!! I finally fell asleep and I could hear him scratching, but I let it go.
-

No. I'll go to City Center.

I hope he knows before leaving home.
-
I wondered briefly last night if there was an animal trapped in the garage. I decided if that was true, it would be warmer in there for the night (it's usually a little above freezing in there) This morning I went out there and nope. Nothing in there
-
DR Cilla can you put something on the door to the garage that is ok for Ricky to scratch? I wonder why this new fascination of his.
-
I think Ricky thought he discovered a magic way to get out into this new place to explore. Just scratch in the right place and it will open. I think the plan was to wait until I went to bed and then take the girls out to explore. Guess again oh cat of mine
-
Actually I'm thinking of putting something on there that he won't want to scratch, like tin foil or something so that he stops doing it
-
He's fascinated because he's never explored the garage. The good thing is, he was so quiet when he was having problems with his tooth. Now that he's recovered completely from having his one fang pulled, he's into everything like he was as a young cat. So, it drives me crazy and makes me happy at the same time
-
Luckily this is Caturday, so I could sleep in. I didn't wake up until almost 11:00!!! I NEVER do that. Can't remember sleeping this late since college
-
Now I'm doing laundry and plan to putter around the house. It's actually a pretty nice day out, it's in the 20s but it's windy so feels colder. Cloudy but no snow here.
-
Watching CNN makes me feel like I'm snowed in too
-
I decided not to go see The Donald this morning, he's an hour away, but they had already given out way more tickets than the 1300 seat theater could hold, so I wasn't going to drive up there and either stand in a long line or possibly not get in.
-
FoxNews said he as in Sioux City, he's not he's in Sioux Center. Garrison Keillor made the same mistake about 8 years ago. Sioux City has a rich history of gangsters, stockyards, explorers all sorts of fodder for Prairie Home Companion. Sioux Center is full of very religious Calvinists and Dutch Reformed. He came to Sioux City with Prairie Home Companion and his whole show was about the Calvinists. It was quite a disappointment Not sure who does his research, but they clearly messed up on that one
-
I also decided to skip Ben Carson. I have had calls from Gov. Kasich, Rick Santorum and Jeb Bush for telephone town hall meetings (I don't do those). One for a poll (I don't do those either) My mail today was two for Christie, one against Christie and Kasich but not for anyone, one that said vote for the Children whatever the heck that means. One for Jeb and I think maybe one for Trump. The mail man was totally weighted down with this stuff. What a waste of money
-
I bought The President's Club and may light a fire and read this afternoon. My brother read it and said it was really interesting. It's about the President and former Presidents and their relationships with each other.
-
DR elmore since Joshie has the work, can you do it with him using Skype and working from your homes vs together in person?
No. I'll go to City Center.

Maybe Ricky left his cigarettes and lighter out in the garage.

Actually I'm thinking of putting something on there that he won't want to scratch, like tin foil or something so that he stops doing it
That is a great idea, unless he decides it is fun to play with tin foil.

He's kind of Simon's Cat, so it wouldn't surprise me. Today he has no interest whatsoever in the mud room (where I'm doing laundry) or the garage. But wait until I try to go to sleep
-
Maybe Ricky left his cigarettes and lighter out in the garage.
Could be
-
I've been watching a PBS documentary on Thurgood Marshall, which is quite fascinating, while I peel potatoes. I really knew very little about him and I'm learning quite a lot.
-
DR George I think we are lucky to have our tickets to Second Samuel before the show sells out.
Absolutely!
-
Back from a light breakfast, then some time with Grant. I think he's willing to try a whole different cover approach - I showed him a few ideas and while he likes what he did, I think he sees my point, too.
-
Then a quick work session with Adryan Russ and Shelly Markham, going through the two songs they wrote together for the LA show.
-
Last load of laundry in the washer. I love it when that happens.
-
Good afternoon!
-
I seem to be recovering from a Happiness Hangover.

Fed the
brat cat, and went back to bed until ten. I felt better, so I have stayed up; but may take a nap for an hour or so.

I did not read this before I did the spinning happy face. If I had, I would have chosen something else. It is too funny now and I will leave it.
-
There is a really animated sign language interpreter fir the NYC Mayor's press conference. Expecting 24-28 inches of snow there..be safe to all our HHW family!
-
Thank you for all the kind words and congratulations. it is nice to be in a hit.
I'm very excited for you, and pleased I get to see this show.
-
Snow vibes for all our east coast friends!
-
The sign language interpreter doesn't understand Spanish
-
Elmore, you take care of yourself if you go out today or tomorrow.
-
Kevin, I guess you won't be seeing any Broadway this weekend.
-
Thank you for all the kind words and congratulations. it is nice to be in a hit.

I am excited that you will see it. Hopefully we can keep this mega high going through the run.

Hi - I'm here, doing things. Not so energetic today. First day in over a week where I could actually slow down a bit. Resisting just tearing through life, but trying to resist.

I think I will go soak in the tub! Later!
-
Last time I looked at the clock it was 3:00 am. Nicky woke me at 8:00 am. My head was spinning and I felt kind of sick to my stomach.
Waking up from that kind of too-short sleep can feel awful for a while. Been there, done it.
-
Last load of laundry in the washer. I love it when that happens.
What a coinkydink! I just put my first (and today, only) load of laundry in the washer.
-
I just watched episode 3 of "The Shannara Chronicles," and now am watching episode 3 of "The Expanse."
-

No snow here. :D

Actually, I really miss it.

MEGA CONGRATS to TCB on his new show!
I couldn't be happier for you, Tom.
-
I wish I could attend.
-
And, yes, I'm also doing laundry. It was quite a wait today, but I only had one load and am pleased to be getting it done.
-
DR TCB, I think Eve Harrington always wanted to take a long nap before she went onstage in Footprints on the Ceiling....especially when they were out of town in New Haven.
She won the Sarah Siddons Award for her performance in New York later that year.
-
Pie in the Sky Season 5 has picked up some gumption, although I really miss one character, played by Bella Enahoro, who was written out. Perhaps she didn't want to renew her contract. So far, Season 5 is better than Season 4, which was getting poor.
DR Ginny, have you seen this series? Richard Griffiths at times reminds me of a hefty version of Richard.
-
I read that Michael Bloomberg is considering running for president as a third-party candidate. Cilla, any buzz on that? I think all the attention is going to the official contenders.
-
!!!!! 5 !!!!!
Speaking of Season 5!
-
I read that Michael Bloomberg is considering running for president as a third-party candidate. Cilla, any buzz on that? I think all the attention is going to the official contenders.
I saw that earlier. Well, that's one more ego into the ring! He wasn't a very good mayor, although I admired much about him.
-

My impression is that he thinks before he speaks, and I rather like that.
-
I ran into the mail lady on my return from the laundry room. A Netflix disc of mine had been sitting in the outgoing mail since, I think, Thursday. I asked her if they deliberately skip us from time to time. She says no, but I'm not convinced. It happens about once every 3 weeks. It's unusual for me to have a day without mail, but when NO ONE in four apartments (6 tenants) gets any, I really have to wonder what's going on.
-
But she brought me the Netflix disc I was looking for so I'm happy.
-
Laundry is done for the day. Yay! (More on Monday.)
-
TTFN.
-
Watched the new documentary on Tower Records - in the end it's very touching and you really understand why they went into the toilet, which I'll talk about in the notes, because boy do I empathize.
-
I was, BTW, really one of the first to predict they would be gone by 2006 - no one believed me, everyone scoffed and - they were gone by 2006.
-
Well, I need to leave now to get ready for tonight's ushering. Hopefully, my clothes will be dry enough by the time I'm done with my shower and have to leave. :-\
Have a good rest of the day, everyone!
-
We went out to dinner tonight. There is a restaurant near us with fantastic artichoke, spinach dip served with delicious flat bread and/or fresh seasoned chips. The atmosphere and the drinks are very good. My problem is the dinner menu. Keith likes fish and chips and always orders that. So far I haven't had the nerve to try the vegetarian version of paella since I'm not a fan of paella. Next time I will because that only leave me with salmon to order. I will eat fish out but prefer not to.
-
The salmon normally comes with Pearl couscous which feels too my like eating tapioca to me and I dislike the feel of tapioca, not that I'm all that keen on the taste.
-
Luckily this is Caturday, so I could sleep in. I didn't wake up until almost 11:00!!! I NEVER do that. Can't remember sleeping this late since college
I thought every day was Caturday at your house

-

Haven't heard anything about that, but that doesn't mean it isn't true. The caucuses don't include 3rd parties so it wouldn't necessarily be the focus here right now
-
What I'm hearing from the people who support Trump is that none of the main stream politicians seem to be able to accomplish anything so it's time to try something different. People like that he speaks his mind no matter how politically incorrect it is. It doesn't have anything to do with issues or positions, in fact a lot of his supporters don't necessarily agree on all his positions, but he's something different. I know both Republicans and Democrats who feel this way. Will they caucus for him? Don't know.
-
Marco Rubio and Hillary Clinton got the endorsement of the DM Register. Neither Cruz or Trump would talk to them because of their liberal bent, so Rubio really isn't a surprise. They endorsed Hillary in 2008 so it's no surprise there either.
-

I had lots of laundry today. It's been below zero out and my dryer vent goes into the garage so I have to open the garage door when I dry clothes. Wasn't going to do that when it was below zero
-
We're about to be bombarded with the candidates last push to the caucuses. They'll be doing 4 and 5 events a day. Has to be totally mind numbing. I don't have a very full schedule this week so I'll try to see anyone who I haven't seen before and may go see a couple of them again, especially my top 3.
-

If you really decide to do it, it takes some planning. If you wait until the last month, you'll likely see everyone. We're notorious for not making up our minds until the last minute so that's when the big push happens. You know, you could also do the same thing in New Hampshire. The distances to travel within the state would be a lot less than here. Of course you'd miss my sparkling company
-
The Dems have a town hall on tv, not sure if it's tomorrow night or a week from tomorrow and the Reps have their last debate before Iowa on the 28th, just in case anyone wants to watch. Enough politics for now. I am glad at least some of you enjoy reading this. I'm trying not to get to into issues and just talk about what's happening.
-
Vixmom, may we "assume" (and I think we all know what that means) that you are finally where you belong?
:)
-
Back from a birthday party and then the fun part of the evening - dining out with Nick and Julie at our favorite Thai place. We were there almost three hours - what fun was had.
-
Good evening!
-
Back from Performance #2.
-
Yesterday we had close to three hundred postings! Just noticed that.
-
Was it a good show? Yes, it was very good.
-
Was it as good as last night? No, but it was a solid show.
-
Yesterday we had close to three hundred postings! Just noticed that.
I think 280 of them were from me blabbing about my show.
-
It doesn't matter how many times you tell actors that audiences are different every night, the minute one joke fails to get the same response as opening night; they panic.
-
Suddenly every gesture is twice as big as last night, every punch line is literally punched.
-
Does that make it better? Of course not, it only makes things worse.
-
Plus, there was a little bit of second night slump.
-
Characters were called the wrong name, lines were reversed, and some speeches were missing entirely.
-
Oh well! There is no use crying over spilt milk.
-
The stage manager will give a speech tomorrow about not making changes in your lines or your character and hopefully we will get back to normal.
-
Never mind!
-
Matinee tomorrow, and then the first reviews should be out by mid-week!
-
Well, I need to leave now to get ready for tonight's ushering. Hopefully, my clothes will be dry enough by the time I'm done with my shower and have to leave. :-\
Have a good rest of the day, everyone!
My clothes were dry enough and I'm now home.
-
The evening was great! Richard Blanco talked about growing up gay and being an immigrant ftom Cuba.
-
Chely Wright also talked about her life being an award winning country singer but being deeply in the closet.
-
It was announced that she was not feeling well, but you couldn't tell.
-
She sounded well enough to tell her stories and sing her songs.
-
She probably only sang maybe six or seven songs, but with her stories, I think she was on stage for close to an hour.
-
Both if them were engaging and friendly and signed autographs after the show.
-
I bought his book The Prince of los Cocuyos: A Miami Childhood (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0062313770/).
-
She was only selling her CD Lifted Off The Ground (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003BZXI00/).
-
They spoke with everyone who chose to stay and get something autographed.
-
It was a great evening and I'm sure that Pizza Klatch (http://pizzaklatch.org/gayla/) raised a lot of money. :)
-
My sister and her boyfriend were there tonight, also.
-
Larry bid on one of the silent auction items (a framed poster from the movie "Gilda" with Rita Hayworth) and won it!
-
I didn't see how much his bid was, but his was the only bid so it wasn't very much.
-
I'm pretty sure that everything that they had throughout the lobby for the silent auction sold.
-
And...
-
...since...
-
...we're so close...
