Well, you've read the notes, the notes were judged, and now it is time for you to post until the judged cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RHAPSODIC!
-
A new cast recording! Hoo and Ray!! :D
-
Topic of the Day: 1776 (original London cast recording)
-
Sorry for not contributing to yesterday's posts. I couldn't load HHW on my iPad. Maybe I have overloaded the poor thing with too many books and music CDs.
-
And then while I was waiting for it to load, I fell asleep. Down for the count.
-
I guess it has been a long week.
-
I saw a copy of the first review today. The paper hasn't gone to press yet, so it isn't online yet. It was a thumbs up.

That's great, Tom!

Right now, I'm watching "A Little Night Music," the 1990 New York City Opera production with George Lee Andrews and Sally Ann Howes. It looks very good.
:)
-
I must try to sleep. Good night, George!

TOD:
Philemon (Jones & Schmidt)
-
Good morning, all! Another day to be out in the snow, and I would rather stay in, do laundry, and work on my taxes.
-
I have to be at Carroll Studios at 11, for the orchestra rehearsal from 11-5. I'm mostly worried about slush; I'm sure the roads and sidewalks will be fine.
-
I'll leave here around 9:45; I like to be there early and get settled/
-
TOD:
HAIL ON THE CHIEF!
:D

I started writing my new play yesterday. I did six (6) pages in about an hour.
It's a multiple character piece; another entry in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series.
-
Off to physical therapy in about an hour.
-
good morning to all

i have a hard time think what has't been released and if the show is a classic in some way
-
I would like to the complete Sonheim: A Musical Tribute released. With today's technology all the technical cliche could be fixed.
-
Good morning, all.
This will be a day at home, with only one trip out later to pick up a couple of necessities.
Which is good, because tomorrow will be a busy one, what with me running all hither and yon. And if you don't think hither and yon are far flung enough, try New Jersey -- because that's where I'll be, seeing a couple of friends and watching a movie or two.

Oops that meeting's tomorrow.
-
Good morning !

Condolences to DR vixmom and family.
-
Well, my 1pm flight was cancelled. I got a robot call at about 1am saying I was rebooked on a flight to Boston at 7 pm and arriving in DC at 10:30. A couple of hours later I got another call saying I was on the noon flight and couldn't believe my luck. Later I thought I should check the status and discovered that the flight is for tomorrow.
-
So I will be in the Big Apple for another day.
-
The Broadway con was crazy. Lots of screaming youngsters. Many of the performers couldn't make it because of the snow so some events were cancelled.
-
There were some interesting and exciting events. There were panels featuring cast members of Hamilton, Something Rotten, Fun Homa and Rent. We went to the first three.
-
There were previews of upcoming shows such as Waitress, Found and the one with Josh Groban (He didn't appear).
-
Got autographs from Rebecca Luker and Melissa Eririco
-
Had my photo taken with Jonathan Groff but haven't seen it yet since all the photos will be posted in Facebook in a week or so.
-
Monday morning greetings! Thank you for the feel-better vibes yesterday. I sort of vegged in front of the TV all day and went to bed as soon as Downton Abbey was over. Much better today...
-

DR KevinH, my college friend Karen was there, too. She's not a screaming youngster, though - she teaches at a performing arts high school in Florida!
-
So overall I enjoyed it. It was so jam-packed that it was rather tiring. Getting back to the hotel on 32nd Street (from the Hilton on 54th and 6th) was interesting. There were people walking down the middle of 6th Avenue. DR Elmore mentioned the subway stairs. They were so slippery that I walked down sideways grasping the rail with hutch hands. Luckily there was subway service Saturday night, at least on the line we needed

Yes, there were a few people over 18!

Continued miracle vibes for MR BK.
Bonus vibes for DR JOHN G.

I learned a new word: cosplay, as in costume play. It refers to fans dressing as a character from a show. There were many people (mostly the young ones) dressed as everyone from Elphaba, Tracy Turnblad, Crutchie from Newsies and a young girl who had very flamboyant outfit like the one Jonathan Groff wears as King George in Hamilton
-
A bit of shopping this morning.....I have received two of the three documents I need to file my taxes.....hopefully the third on will be here before next week.
-
TOD is very interesting.....I shall continue to enjoy everyone's list....
-
I also like HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION.....especially two of the numbers....
"Get Out the Vote" and "Henry Clay and Frelinghuyson."

Congrats, TCB, on the success of your show !

I forgot to mention I saw Allegiance last night. It's the show with George Takei and Lea Salonga about the Japanese internment camps durin WWII. It was very good and also timely.
-
Just saw that Jason Graae is at the Metropolitan Room. Unfortunately, it's tomorrow.

I'm up, I'm up - barely. All three house building crews are at it today.

Sounds like a lot of fun, despite/because of the snow.

"Get Out the Vote" and "Henry Clay and Frelinghuyson."
My one fault with the show is: How can you have a musical with the incomparable Karen Morrow and not have her sing?

Yup. Me want.

Soundtracks I'd love to see on CD (for the first time).
Ditto on Elmo's comment about the OST to "Oh! What A Lovely War"
Ditto Michael Shayne's recommendation of "Sondheim: A Musical Tribute"
Also, the OST to "Young Winston".

Doing "okay" is my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Today marks the start of my second week back at work.
I'm taking things a bit slower than before, mainly because I have been told to take things easy and to not get myself into any kind of "state" that might elevate my blood pressure and elevate my heartbeat (beyond what I'd go for in exercise).
Weird. Thus far, am alleviating stress left and right.
My "alert" time continues to increase daily. I was sleeping a lot...and I mean A LOT...during my recovery post-hospital stay.
Long story short: Started feeling poorly at start of my second week back in SC. Had trouble breathing. The slightest effort would "wind" me. (That's wind with a short "i"). When I went to hospital Jan. 3, I thought I had pneumonia. Doctor alleviated that misconception within 15 minutes.
Breathing is fine now. Am sleeping well. Must watch my eating, however...and my liquids consumption.
-
And lest you think I've lost all my manners:
Hello, all. Happy Monday!
-
Hi DR Ron. It is very good to see you here.

I'm glad you remembered to mention it now.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I am so happy to see you bacxk with us!
And I am home. My leg is not happy today and the pain and throbbing were driving me mad. As soon as lunch brak began, I hugged everyone goodbye and headed home.
It took forever to get here.
-
Jonathan Tunick's orchestration for "Honey in the Honeycomb" and the big band dance break is really tremendous.

GOOD HEALTH VIBES FOR ALL DR'S WHO NEED THEM!!!

We video chatted with Craig this morning. He said he will be off work again tomorrow as school has been cancelled.

Sadly, the one miracle that really could have put things right did not happen, even though I was kind of assured it would. Oh, well. Mercury is out of retrograde as of a few minutes ago - maybe in a couple of days some surprise miracle will happen. If it doesn't, it's going to be a VERY difficult week.
-
More miracle vibes for BK.

Let's move on.

Here's an idea for the cover of your new book. It's jam-packed and chock-full!
-
I am sorry about the lack of a miracle, bk.
-
DR FJL - your "The Blizzard and I" was hilarious!
-
Our first review has now been published. It was a great review. One paragraph:
Tom Birkeland is Mr. Mozel. Birkeland is excellent in the role of the town grouch who is mad at everybody, including himself. His character is constant; the actor shows his character has forgotten how to smile.
-
In other words, he forgot how to turn that frown upside down.
-
Congratulations, DR TCB! :)

Question to all:
If anyone has seen the play (not the movie) Boeing-Boeing do you think it would work with an all male cast? No dialogue change, just character names.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work.
Until later.
-
Congrats, TCB.
-
Meanwhile, it's back to Poldark for me.
-
We just watched the first two episodes of the new X-files. Is anyone else watching? As fans of the original show, so far we are very happy.
-

I missed the first episode, but I recorded tonight's episode and set my DVR to record the series (I think it's only 6 episodes). I'll watch the first episode on OnDemand.
-
There seems to be a problem with the disc on the last episode of Poldark. That would be the case, right?
-
I may have to deal with this in the morning.
-
But not before a page turn.
-
Five!
-
Good night, all.

You should watch them in order. We had to find the first episode again as a football game was recording instead of X-files and we only had the first half of the show.

A bit of shopping this morning.....I have received two of the three documents I need to file my taxes.....hopefully the third on will be here before next week.
You and me both. I just wish I would get the third document.

As of last year, I'm back to the 1040EZ form. My mortgage interest isn't enough anymore to be able to deduct it. :-\

I have been a zombie all day today.
-
We had a second review today. It is favorable, but still rather strange. It is not one that I would quote in my resume.
-
I came in the bedroom to get on my laptop, but I promptly fell asleep for two hours.
-
I need to make up for lost time.
-
I think I am fighting off a sore throat.
-
So far, I seem to be winning.
-
Seeing Ron posting again really made my day.
-
Back from a meeting and then a salad at Little Toni's. This is the last big meal I'm eating for MONTHS.

I've been here 9 years, but about a year and a half after I moved here, I refinanced from a 30-year mortgage to a 15-year mortgage, so now I only have about six and a half years left. :)

No Cilla tonight?

I wonder if the first two episodes of THE X FILES are available on my Roku, either on Amazon or Netflix?

Today was a beautiful day here in Tacoma.

It felt almost like Spring.

So, to make up for it, we are going to have heavy rain and winds for the rest of the week.

It was beautiful and almost spring likehere as well. Mt Hood looked especially beautiful.

That is what they just said on the news.

I wonder who counts these things?

Yup. I started back in 1984 as a page while going to Centralia College for my AA, but page time back then didn't count towards seniority. I quit when I went to Western Washington University for my junior and first senior years. The last time I left (for my second senior year), they changed it so that page time DID count for seniority, so they put me on "inactive" status. I came back in October 1989 after graduating and have been there ever since. Because of that "inactive" year, I was able to have my adjusted seniority date go back to 1988.
-
Actually, according to the article, there is no future.
-
I was reading a really scary article about the future(?) of Social Security.
Yup...which is why I figure that I'll probably have to work until I'm at least 67, or even older. One of my staff is retiring this year and she's 68. A couple of people didn't retire until they were older than 70. Fortunately, they were still able to work, but they needed to keep working.
-
I need to go take my pills and get ready for bed. I will try to get on my iPad, but I am not sure it is going to work.

Wow! That was easy.

But I won't complain.

PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had the song, "Out There" from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame going through my head all day.
-
Today, I got the new studio cast recording of the stage version of the show. :)
-
I think they added a new song that wasn't on the 1999 German cast recording, which I love.
-
This new recording is pretty good, in my opinion.
-
And since we're now so close...
-
IT'S PAGE SEVEN!!
-
Sorry, I got locked out again.
-
But now I'm back.
-
Is HUNCHBACK coming to Broadway?
-
Is HUNCHBACK coming to Broadway?
I don't know if it specifically is, or if this first production (and subsequent studio recording) was just a tester production.
-
But now I'm back.
Whew!
