Well, you've read the notes, the notes stopped the rollercoaster, and now it is time for you to post until the rollercoaster cows come home.

And the word of the day is: CRYOPHILIC!

They're predicting a HUGE storm today. I'm predicting drizzle, maybe, or nothing at all.

PAGE TWO!!

Good morning!
-
Good morning, all! I had this long dream about a musical one-act I music directed in grad school. It's one of the few projects I worked on for which I have next to no memories. I couldn't tell you anyone in the cast besides the leading lady; I remember nothing about the band, rehearsals, or performances.
the dream clarified nothing.
-
Coming up now on "Get TV": The Judy Garland Show with Guest Barbra Streisand!
-
I have few plans today. I think I will begin my final round of printing the 2015 invoices I need for my taxes. That will take much of the day. Yesterday, I typed up the fixes for No. 2, "In the sunny Old South," in the Moross score and emailed the first two sets of corrections to my copyist Scott. If I have the tme, I'll type up the fixes for No. 3.
I am hoping that tomorrow I have some work at City Center.

DR vixmom, safe return travels!

Happy Birthday DR MICHAEL!

Continued Dodging the Bullet vibes to MR BK.
I didn't see MR BK's post until this morning.....
Leo DeCaprio won best actor for Revenant, Spotlight won for ensemble cast, Brie Larson won best actress for The Room, Downton Abbey won for television drama ensemble cast.....
It was a pretty low-key affair, but no one except Michael Keaton really said anything "political" or "controversial."
Somebody who claimed to be Carol Burnett won a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Here's a story with ALL the winners listed.

Happy birthday to DR Michael!!
-
I loved Carol Burnett at the SAG Awards last night. Tina and Amy did a great intro. Usually I find the intros and speeches so boring. But both were so interesting. I usually cannot wait to move on to more awards. But Carol's speech went by so fast. They are all so funny.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Oy -- the dreams last night. I was busy all night with the dreams.
-
The first dream was an absolute classic, a typical musician's nightmare. Our show (whatever it was) would have a late start due to one of my band members being late. (This would be derived from a real incident seven years ago, when our cellist for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC had a long commute from an earlier gig. That was known and planned in advance and not a problem.)
This was NOT a good situation. Theater management was pissed, and I ended up disappearing to God knows where in the meantime and panicking about getting back in time to salvage the performance. Miraculously, everyone - audience included - was still there a full hour after curtain time, and presumably the show went on, but by then I was on my way to other stupid dreams.
-
The others were all kind of related. They all involved, in one way or another, the Newtown/Sandy Hook area (which is twenty minutes from me). In one, I was using a fancy wall-sized image of Google Maps or something to show some people how to get from somewhere near here to a certain point over there in Newtown, on a route that would necessitate jumping from one road to another. (There's never a straight line path from one point in Connecticut to another, that much is real!)
In another, I was the one driving over there, and since I had just found the place (whatever it was), I decided to take the opportunity to check it out before heading back home. The place was now a large multi-acre state park or some such, but a quiet area, as it was now a convent. The geography of it was lovely, typical woodsy and hilly Connecticut. I was exploring the private roads through there and in this one area which was a cemetery I had to make a turn because the road dead ended at this open barn-like structure. I then I found I wasn't alone and undetected, because several of the sisters were working in there on their projects or chores. I made nice with the small talk, chatting with them to assure them I meant no harm or anything.
Realized after I was awake that this would be based on the actual place, Abbey of Regina Laudis, another half hour or so from where the dream was placing it, where "Mother Dolores Hart" resides and does some occasional acting. I never have gotten up there to see anything, to my regret.
-
The barn thing was based on a memory of being at a friend's large place in nearby Roxbury where, during a couple of Christmas seasons around fifteen years ago, another friend and I had helped with the weekend operations of these people's tree farm. I even learned how to drive a large tractor, if you can imagine that -- me toting people around to choose and cut their Christmas trees and haul them back to the barn. (I know this sounds indistinguishable from another dream. But it's real, man. I wonder if any photographic evidence exists.)
-
Okay, enough of my
sh stuff. I yield the floor.
-
Happy Birthday, DR Michael Shayne!
-
HAPPY HAPPY, BIRTHDAY TO DEAR READER MICHAEL SHAYNE!!!

I totally agree that THE WRONG MAN is top drawer Hitchcock.
It's too bad that the world wants to pigeonhole and typecast everyone. Silly world. This is a masterful piece of movie making.

No obligation, of course. :)
That is what I did, without re-sizing, the first time when I went blank. I tried it again, and sure enough I don't have an avatar. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.
-
I put the new re-sized avatar back in using my computer.
-
Then I put the newer re-sized, with more of the falls showing as my avatar :)
-
From George:
Crap. I accidentally deleted the new avatar. I had to recreate it from the original picture.
;D
Practicing doing it from photobucket?

DR TCB I'm glad you and the cast were fine last night.

Nice photo, DR Jane!

Hope to see photos of the HHW gathering!
Since Keith can only put photos on FB from his smart phone, and I don't have a smartphone, maybe DR George will use his phone or camera.

Thanks DR Kevin.

Vibes for a happy mini HHW gathering in the Northwest today!

I am watching the Broadway Orlando Bloom-Condola Rashad ROMEO & JULIET on Ovation this morning.
I don't know if I can take this AND GREASE LIVE! tonight.....it might be too much for me.
-
The new person in the theater on the book cover reminds me of Benjamin K.
-
Perhaps Benjamin is writing the book about Patrick.
-
Vibes for a happy mini HHW gathering in the Northwest today!
Thanks. We will be leaving in a few minutes to drive to Tacoma :)
-
Have a great time together and at the show, you guys!
Break Leg Vibes, once again, to TCB!
-
Good Afternoon to all
-
Thank you all very much for the birthday wishes.
-
I was in Orlando this weekend and went on some great rollercoasters!
-
I'm up, I'm up. I didn't get much sleep at all.
-
It's raining.
-
Of course I'm not really looking forward to three hours of Grease Live - I'm not a fan of the show or movie, and this is pretty much the movie with even MORE material put in by other writers.
-
Very appropriate the day before Iowa, since one of the most famous "Grease" misheard lyrics went "Hope the City Voted for You."
-
Hope to see photos of the HHW gathering!
Since Keith can only put photos on FB from his smart phone, and I don't have a smartphone, maybe DR George will use his phone or camera.
My cell phone camera is not a good camera. I'll bring my tablet and take pictures with that. If there is free wi-fi, I can post pictures.
-
Perhaps Benjamin is writing the book about Patrick.
That would be cool!
-
Well, it's time for me to get ready for my short trip up north to Tacoma! After showering and getting dressed, I will need to get gas for my car, so I must go now.
Be back later!
-
Perhaps Benjamin is writing the book about Patrick.
That would be cool!
It would be, but it wouldn't make sense. But someone is writing a book about Patrick, a young writer who pens film books. The book is basically a two person book (with the occasional waiter or parking attendant appearance). However, for the keen observer, I, BK, make an appearance in the book.
-
DR CHAS SMITH - The Dream-O-Matic 6000 is intrigued by your slumber stories. In general, they seem to indicate that you will soon have to make a choice between one activity and another just because of time restraints.
You must also not let people encroach upon your time and talents - others will squander both if you are not discretionary.
-
LOL....lots of things don't make sense.....
-
BK: I just spoke with Kate. She tried to do what George said, but she didn't have the choice of "send me a new password" or "I'll answer my secret question." It just said that a password would be sent to her. She checked and it hadn't been sent yet. Is it sent automatically or do you have to send it?
-
My printer has been working itself into a stupor, but all of the Amazon.com 2015 invoices are now printing away. Only 76 more to print!
When they are finished, I will proceed to the 2015 amazon.co.uk and print those. i still have Paypal and Abebooks to deal with. Oy!
-
I'd like to think it would be automatically sent.
-
I'm so tired of the Grease Live publicity machine, the most relentless I've ever seen. Much more so that The Sound of Music or Peter Pan live. It's quite obnoxious.
-
Making some spaghetti. Still rainy.
-
Good afternoon.
-
I don't like The Wrong Man for the same reason I don't like a lot of movies - Henry Fonda.....
Watch two or three of his movies in a row....and you'll see what I mean.....same same same.
-
Hopefully the 25 emails I received so far today reminding me that TODAY is the final day to sign up for HealthCare - will be the last that I receive.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! Today we attended a new (to me) church in Dayton. Richard had been there several times before and likes it a lot. I'm not sold...
-
Happiest of birthdays to DR Michael!
-
Happy Birthday, DR Michael!
-
I've had some Mexican food for dinner, and i will spend my night watching the remainder of BROADCHURCH, Season 2. There are several directors on this series, which suffers more than the first season, from too much directorial pretension: too many shots of people inside while rain distorts the image in the window, too many shots of actors walking on the beach, walking by the water, walking on the street, walking and more walking while the score, as it did in the first series, keeps saying "this is serious shit."
As for the writing, the mystery, and the actors, they're wonderful, an excellent ensemble. Charlotte Rampling is quite fierce as the prosecuting attorney.
-
Being sold on a church takes me a LONG while DR GINNY.
-
Waiting for GREASE to start...
-
An hour of heavy rain and time Warner crashes. Two hours already with no end in sight
-
As soon as the hour of rain was over the sun comes out
-
Still down with no eta
-
Amazing that it takes as much time to get the 40 odd miles from the Verrazano bridge to home as it takes to go from Delaware to the verrazanno
-
Home again

We're back up, Internet-wise.

I am enjoying Grease Live on Fox!
-
Is Grease actually airing anywhere live? No reports?
-
Here's a little "secret" for you - the screaming teen audience members for Grease Live? Hired. Paid.
-
They look well-rehearsed.
-
I do love that people posting think the audience and the reaction is real. The reaction (people LOVING it) is so predictable. It's always the same people. And then when the next one is on they forget they loved this one - last time they LOVED The Wiz. Now The Wiz was just okay but THIS is great. The same damn people every time.
-
Whoever said this is more like the movie musical than the stage musical is on target, I think.
BK - Once you saw a certain amount of detail and precision in the movements of the onlookers, you knew they weren't your typical studio audience for a stage show. But it doesn't seem they were trying to fool anyone.
Interesting that the director of HAMILTON chose this as his project coming off HAMILTON's great success.
-
Original Bway show TV ad "We Go Together" dance
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Phxb5K7jUUw
-
Oh dear. First of all, have they instructed this real audience to not laugh at any dialogue, but just to scream on cue. Otherwise there would have been applause and laughs in the principal's speech and the song that goes with it.
-
Hoping they fix the sound issues at the top of the show, for the West Coast and the DVD.
-
But for me it's deadly. The mix is terrible, the background vocals are, of course, pre-recorded, as is the band. These idiots, the usual suspects, are acting like the audience reaction is energizing everyone, but there IS no audience reaction until the ends of numbers.
-
BK - Are they supposed to be an audience or onlookers in the scene?
(except at the ends of songs, which seemed to work, and for during the "dream" part of Freddy My Love, where they're clearly an audience.
-
Is Grease actually airing anywhere live? No reports?
We briefly watched it in our hotel room.
-
Welcome home Vixmom.
-
We had a wonderful evening and hope to return again for another show.
-
First we met DR George in lobby before the show.
-
The play was as good as DR TCB said, and as expected he was excellent. We enjoyed it very much. Our DR TCB is very talented.
-
Dinner with George and Tom was delightful. We truly enjoyed our evening.
-
What IS this? Where IS everyone?

I wonder if the browser that she uses would make a difference. Does she have a different browser on her computer that she could try?

Not surprised. ::)

I'm recording and just started watching GREASE and BK's close and personal friend Barry Pearl was just on!

Happy birthday, Michael Shayne!

Before I forget, here's the first picture that I took of Jane and Keith at the restaurant, before TCB got there:

I had the most relaxing weekend out of town. The weather was perfect, in the low 80s, with a nice breeze throughout. I slept 11 hours on Saturday and still took a short nap in the afternoon. I read a book, I didn't turn on my computer. I ate barbecue. And I chatted with friends over some good vino. All in all, most welcome.
-
Here's the next picture that I took, but with me!

This is a feature on my tablet. :)

Across the street from my friends house on Fort Clark Springs is a theater where a band of German musicians from across the state gathered to played waltzes and oompah music. The whole area seemed to turn out for the concert, which we could hear while sitting ont he front porch. Charming, but not my kind of music. My mother would have loved it.
-
Six!

BTW, like the new avatar.

My favorite since we are all in it.
-
We called the front desk to ask for ear plugs. The view from the hotel is very pretty and the train is fun, or would be if it did not blow its whistle every time it goes by.
-
Good night, all.
-
I really liked the last two songs, "You're the One That I Want" and "We Go Together."
-
And they get bows!
-
Good evening!
-
Thank you so much to George, Jane, and Keith for coming to the show. It was pretty much a full house today.
-
And thank you for the wonderful time after the show. Dinner was good, but the company was great! Thank you so much!
-
And it was great chocolate cake!!
-
The show went very well today, with the exception of one light cue that almost never happened!
-
Unfortunately, I didn't get to introduce my sister and my niece to my friends.
-
For some reason, the cast meet and greet today turned into an actual receiving line. That has never happened before.
-
We had a very sweet group of special needs folks today that really seemed to enjoy the meet and greet as much as they liked the show itself.
-
We have only four more performances to go. This one will be a hard one to put away.
-
Nice photos George, and with Keith's camera operated by one of my cast mates.
-
I enjoyed GREASE - LIVE.
-
One more post.
-
Seven!!
-
Finished entering proofer two's corrections - have a lot of stuff to run by Muse Margaret as regards some I'm not sure about.
-
I do think we'll be able to get this to the publisher's in about a week or so.
-
I do think we'll be able to get this to the publisher's in about a week or so.
Cool!
-
I watched GREASE from the beginning up to the point where I started watching, just after "Beauty School Dropout," and now I'm watching the season finale to "Galavant."
