Well, you've read the notes, the notes had penmanship, and now it is time for you to post until the jotting cows come home.

And a very happy haineshisway.com birthday to only really occasional dear readers Edisaurus.  Wouldn't it be swell if all these people came back, but alas, it doesn't happen.  Ben didn't even stop in to say thanks for all his lovelier than lovely birthday wishes.  A head scratcher for me, for sure.

Or each one could come back for a week, kind of like the co-host on the old MIKE DOUGLA SHOW

My last dream was an all-star extravaganza, a mash-up of the Houston Grand Opera production of BABES IN TOYLAND that I worked on in 1991, an Encores! cast including Chris Fitzgerald, the Miami University Library around 1971, Marni Nixon, and DRs ChasSmith and Ben.

I was a failure in "The March of the Toys" and trying to get out of being in the number. I was arranging two songs for Marni, Chris Fitzgerald needed new shoes, and there was a problem with one of the toilets and the plumbing.

I am back to City Center this morning. I'm hoping that Joshie and I can finish up today.  I need tomorrow to accomplish a few things here and advise a young arranger on a piece he's writing.

I got a very nice mention in the New York Times' New York Today column today.  (I've been posting parody lyrics there for several months.)  The Times writer, Noah Remnick, even linked the nice Lin-Manuel Miranda tweet.

The mention is in the closing "AND FINALLY" section.  You'd need to scroll down to that section.

I hope I comported myself properly in that dream.  Honored to show up in the presence of Marni Nixon.

My own dreams included a weird little nightmare.  Not the blatantly scary kind, just something shocking and very weirdly contrived.

The only BIG problem I had with the show I saw Monday night - all of the scenes ended with a button - a word or a look or a gesture - which I thought would have worked great with a blackout.  Instead we had the lights fade out each time.....leaving the actors standing there.....  A blackout would have started the applause.....I think.

We watched TRUTH with Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford last night.

It's not a film that I would want to see a second time, but it was certainly intriguing.

And, Cate Blanchett is sensational.

I've written about 20 pages of my new play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series.

This one has 3 characters and it's the first one I've written that I've also known 2 of the 3 people involved.

With B MOVIE, I lived in the same apartment building as Barbara Payton; would see her at the pool, but I never met her.

At my age back then, I found her to be a bit intimidating.

Okay, so, of course they also want SHIPOOPI and MARIAN.  SHIPOOPI first, though, and I have till the weekend to give it to them.  That shouldn't be too ridiculously hard to bang out.

I wonder why people don't ask for everything they need (and which you KNOW they're going to need) all at once.  That's just weird.

Question, maybe just for Bruce & Vixmom regarding the cost of dental work.

My friend's daughter in-law, due to a cancer treatment,  needs all her teeth removed.  Four implants will be done to hold the two bridges in place.

$50,000 seems unreasonably high to me.

Have gotten quite a bit of work done this week but am paying for it with "stress anxiety".  I advised a couple of people this morning that I am experiencing this chest-tightening anxiety and that I plan to avoid, in the futre,  the activities which have caused it.

People who don't meet deadlines for monthly reports are so overly dramatic at deadline time, and they get incensed when you suggest they need to learn to manage their time better, especially since reminders are sent to them weekly two weeks in advance of deadline.

I've done my last "extension".  Next month (which I plan to be my last month on a specific report), the report will be done when I need it to be done WITHOUT worrying about folks who can't meet the deadline.  Period.

Yikes, DR Jane, that does sound like a lot of money!

But let me tell you a story about my Mom.  Back in 2003 she was faced with a similar decision - having all her teeth removed and having implants to secure the dentures.  I don't remember the dollar amount, but she felt she would not live long enough to "get her money's worth."  She passed on the implants and has suffered now for 13 years with ill-fitting dentures.  She no longer even wears them and, thus, has a pretty restricted diet.

I've been to the dentist where I had half my mouth scaled and planed.  Where they numb you and scrape and prod not only on the surface but below.   It was rather painless and rather annoying, but it is what it is.

I really enjoyed the Andrew Lloyd Webber production "The Wizard of Oz" in San Jose last night. I'd seen it in 2013 in SF also. I just love how this production doesn't try and be the movie and in many respects finally gives us a real musical version of the show - not just putting the movie on stage - which is a reversal of trying to put a musical on the screen.  It really feels like a musical.

Period.

Good for you!  What will happen if it is late and you refuse to do it?  Will they have to take care of it?

A stink will ensue, because I will notate at the top of the report that specific reports were NOT submitted in accordance with deadline.

Speaking of beautiful things, Patrick Bronstein Presents qualifies in that category. There are some great laughs in the book, but it also has a great reverence for the past that makes it a rich read, too.

Question, maybe just for Bruce & Vixmom regarding the cost of dental work.

My friend's daughter in-law, due to a cancer treatment,  needs all her teeth removed.  Four implants will be done to hold the two bridges in place.

$50,000 seems unreasonably high to me.

Ruben Santiago-Hudson was the artistic director for August Wilson's American Century Cycle (http://www.thegreenespace.org/series/august-wilsons-american-century-cycle/) for The Green Space.  For a while, you could download the entire series on audio mp3s, and watch videos of the readings, but they're no longer available on the website.

At seven I got the book, fully designed, so I began proofing then and that's what I have literally been doing all night.  I am so bored of proofing and I probably shouldn't even be doing it but for this stage it has to be me.  All I should be finding are things that got screwy when Grant formatted it - this happens on every book - it's mostly some bad breaks, some hyphens that didn't get turned into em dashes and for whatever reason it happens a couple of lines that split in a way that they shouldn't have.  But of course I also found a few things no one had caught and thankfully fixed those, mostly do with quote marks, and I rewrote about five words so they flowed better and found one repeated laugh line and nuked that.  I'm not quite finished yet, but will before I abed.  Then at eleven tomorrow I drop off the book to the final blurber and then I go directly to Grant to enter all the fixes and then we're done and just waiting for the blurbs - if I have all those by Monday, which is what I'm hoping for, then the book will go in on Tuesday.

We have a Pay-What-You-Can Show tomorrow night.

Tomorrow night, we have our final dress with a few invited people, then we open on Friday.

The theater has been receiving lots of phone calls and e-mails from audience members who were "thrilled" by the production of SECOND SAMUEL.

We enjoyed it :)

So did I!
