Well, you've read the notes, the notes have imparted much information, and now it is time for you to impart many posts until the overloaded cows come home.

Sex Goddess. What would I know?
Kim Novak was always the one I thought was wonderful. Vertigo would be my favourite of her films.
-
Sex Goddess. What would I know?
Ditto. ::)
However, I've mentioned my fondness for Sophia Loren before, so, I'd have to say Sophia Loren.
Also, I'm not really if there have been any true sex goddesses coming out of Hollywood over the past 20 years or so. Maybe out of the Hollywood Hills, but that would be a different type of "sex goddess". Yes, there have been some sexy actresses, and some actresses that have made a career out of putting their sexuality on film so to speak, but a sex goddess in the sense that BK means... Hmmm...
Discuss...
-
Marilyn Monroe was a sex goddess. And a great screen presence. Of her sex goddess roles, I love her in The Seven Year Itch and Some Like it Hot.
-
All is right with the world...well, sort of. ::)
Sex Goddess. What would I know?
Ditto. ::)
Me three! As for Sex Goddesses[/i], yes, I would say that Marilyn Monroe is one of the sexiest goddesses of them all. I'd also include Sophia Loren. How about Jayne Mansfield? They're the only ones that I can think of [but then, I didn't think of the first two on my own (a Les Misérable reference)]. Maybe later I'll just agree with more choices that others will post...as usual. ;)
-
Three of my favorite sex goddesses are Panni, Jane, and PennyO.
But I don't know what films they've appeared in, and I'm too much of a gentleman to ask.
:o
:D

Well, SWW, that's the nicest compliment I've had all month! Thank you!
-
Good morning, all! I just went to vote, and the line was so long that I decided to wait until later in the day. I don't believe in my 24 years of voting I've ever seen a iine like it. On non-presidential election years, you can walk in and right right back out. So, I left the pll, went down to Staples and bought some supplies: 2-disc jewel cases and some waterproof pens. I have to burn sets of THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER for all the people on the board of this project.
DRGinny, I'm trying to take care of myself as well as I can until the surgery is healed. I do have to start removing books and music from the other set of bookcases so that my carpenter can secure them as sturdily as the others.
DRLauraII, I'm sending good vibes to your friend who needs them. I'm wondering how DRJenny (?) is dealing with her stalker these days as well.
Yes, DRJane, we sat in Winston Churchill Park for nearly an hour conversing and I wish we could do so once a week at most and once every 2 months at least. Aw, Doc, when's Sheba coming back?
-
Dear Friend BK, I'm a bit puzzled over the new recording for WRITER'S BLOCK: are you doing real Broadway songs from 1969 or are you recording original material. Now, why haven't you asked me to score it? I'd drop my rates for you!
I forgot the TOD:
Marilyn Monroe, now and forever:
SOME LIKE IT HOT
SEVEN YEAR ITCH
GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES
BUS STOP
HOW TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE: this is her GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE moment: she and Brendan Fraser manage to be sexy and hilarious at the same time. Every time she walks into a wall, ROTFLMAO!

To answer the question from yesterday where Julie Andrews sang At the Ballet.
It came from the tv special Julie Andrews - One step into Spring - March 1978

Sex Goddess: Does Divine count?
-
Checking in before going to vote at a NEW polling place; they're tearing down the elementary school (Wilson, Elmore) where we've always voted. The board of elections just told us last week where we're supposed to go.
TOD - My favorite sex goddess ACT is Lesley Ann Warren as Norma in Victor, Victoria. Does that qualify LAW as a goddess herself?
Elmore - Please give yourself some time to recover and take care.
Jane - Over the past 30 years, I've gone to the ALA annual conference about every 2-3-5 years and enjoyed every one. Hoping to get to 2005 in Chicago. It was there that I took my husband and son five years ago, turned them loose in the exhibit hall, and when we met it was like they'd been trick or treating. They'd open their bags and say, "Look what I got!"
-
I VOTED, AND I WILL BE SOOOOOO GLAD WHEN ALLTHE ADS ARE OVER. tHEY'RE ENOUGH TO MAKE ME HATE EVERYONE SOMETIMES. bUT ONE HAS TO CHOOSE. uNFORTUNATELY IN MY LIFETIME, IT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS--- NEVER ENOUGH THAT I REALLY CARED ABOUT. I JUST HOPE SOMEONE HALFWAY CAPABLE WITH ENOUGH INTELLIGENCE TO CHOOSE SMART PEOPLE TO KEEP AROUND ENOUGH GETS IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
On to important things: Kim Novak is a sex goddes, Marilyn Monroe is a sex goddess. Rita Hayworth ( I dare you to watch "Gilda" or even "You Were Never Lovelier" and tell me otherwise and Ava Gradner )alll she had to do was stand there) were sex goddesses. And although perhaps not quite a sex GODDESS, Doris Day was had a lot of sex appeal in her understated way.
Paulette Goddard wass a sex goddess- probably more so in real life than on the screen.
Kim Novak is still my favorite though. She didn't always get the best parts, but there was no denying her sex appeal. I loved "Boys' Night out" and "The Notorious Landlady" and of course "Vertigo." And she is very good and very gorgeous in "Strangers When We Meet"-- which is actually quite good and very underrated.
My favorite films of Marilyn's would have to be "Some Like it Hot," "Seven Year Itch," "How to Marry A Millionaire," "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes." And the thing is, she's very good in all of those movies. "Bus Stop" isn't one of my favorites, but part of it was filmed here, and my aunt got to meet her in her dressing room (I still don't know who pulled what strings), and I drive by the corner where she was a few times a week. So I have to list it.
-
TOD: Ann-Margret! Ann-Margret! Ann-Margret! Was there ever a movie in which she was not sexy? Gawd, she even managed to make Blanche DuBois a hottie. Wotta woman!
-
LANA TURNER!!!!! Geez, how could I not include lana Turner?!
-
I voted this morning, too. I usually wait until after work to vote, but I was afraid that the polls would be crowded tonight by the time I got there (or so I hope!)
I plan to spend the day by ignoring all the news web sites and just throwing myself into my work. That, along with drinking lots of coffee and posting whatever the hell I feel like at this here website, the best and brightest of the internet!
-

Wilson School is coming down? That is so sad. I went to grades 1-6 there. and my first grade was, I believe, its first year. Well, they've been tearing me for years.
DRGinny, was there a crowd at the polls?
TOD: I always loved Kim Novak, too, but I never felt she was a very good actress. In BELL BOOK AND CANDLE, she's left in the dust by all the great acting around her, even by the cat!, but she's so beautiful. A film I did like her in, besides VERTIGO, was MOLL FLANDERS, with Angela Lansbury and Richard Johnson, whom I believe she married for a bit. I think her comedy timing had improved by then.
-
Yesterday I was supposed to write the proposal for a term paper and I just now finished it. (Finally!) Now all I have to do is write the 15 page paper, plus four others, take one more midterm, all the finals, and various other papers, tests, and quizzes, and I'm all set.
I am watching a home shopping channel and this lady is modeling a leopard spotted bowling bag. It is stunning.
-
The only voting I'll be doing today is for screen goddess, and here's my choice - the beautiful Gene Tierney.
-
My father was in another room listening to his transistor radio when Marilyn Monroe's death was announced. He came in, visibly upset, and simply said, "We've lost a treasure."
-
There are several sex goddesses that I like.
Ann-Margret singing "Appreciation" in VIVA LAS VEGAS is quite a sight! (as is her "Isn't It Kinda Fun?" in STATE FAIR), wallowing in commercial items such as baked beans, soap suds and chocolate in TOMMY, on the treadmill in BYE BYE BIRDIE and arguing with Jack Nicholson in CARNAL KNOWLEDGE.
Rita Hayworth smoldering in nearly everything she did.
Marilyn performing "Heat Wave" (or sitting and having an after dinner coffee with my late uncle the colonel in Korea).
Jane Russell performing "Ain't There Anyone Here for Love?" (although at times she is upstaged by the male dancers' costumes)
Jean Harlow being RECKLESS, or in DINNER AT EIGHT
Carroll Baker being HARLOW
Alla Nazimova doing the dance of the seven veils in SALOME
Shirley MacLaine bringing professionalism to new levels in SOME CAME RUNNING and IRMA LA DOUCE
Jean Seberg being BREATHLESS.

I voted this morning and as DR Elmore noted, I was met with a line for the first time in my memory. I've been voting since 1972 (I proudly cast my first vote for McGovern/Shriver).
I vote at the new Chelsea YMCA on 14th Street and the space is just a little meeting room. It's never been a problem before so I got there at 6:15 thinking they will have just opened (other elections arriving at 6:15 meant a wait but I waited because they were not completely set up). Much to my surprise there were throngs of people waiting to vote. People had arrived at 5:30 waiting for them to open. I hope that's a good sign. Anyway, after about a half hour I was able to vote.
It was a bit chaotic. As I said, the room is small so it becomes overcrowded very quickly. We vote by election district and each table is for a different district so whenever a table/district was empty one of the poll workers would come into the hall and call addresses for that particular district and streams of people would step out of line and into the room. At last I reached the door to the room and, lo and behold, ED 97 Table was empty so I was able to walk right in, show my voter registration card, which apparently they don't send out any longer (I've had mine since 1983 when I re-registered at my Chelsea voting location) and cast my vote.
As DTM said, I will now scrupulously AVOID any web site, news broadcast, etc giving early poll numbers and analysis and other bull roar. I have even changed my browser home page to Google (which is basically blank with a box for search entries) from Yahoo because I don't want to see news headlines (the polls are up, the polls are down, it's a dead heat, it's a live heat, blah de blah blah blah, shut the hell up already).
I am so tired and disgusted by this entire production that I wish it was next week. I thought it couldn't get any worse after 2000 but boy was I wrong. I cannot remember a more vile, nasty, mean and obnoxious campaign and whatever happens, I cannot wait until it is over. Hallelujah, Baby (a Jule Styne, Leslie Uggams, Arthur Laurents, Arena Stage, Comden & Green, Barbara Sharma, Lillian Hayman, Marilyn Cooper and too many others to mention reference).
I am now off my soapbox. Thank you for your patience. Rant over.
-
Jane Russell performing "Ain't There Anyone Here for Love?" (although at times she is upstaged by the male dancers' costumes)
DRtd, LOL! ;D ;D ;D
-
It's voting day!
Wow, DR Elmore such a large line so early! Anybody else have any lines? I always hear about people waiting hours to vote. I don't think I'd like that. Whenever I've had to vote, I've NEVER had to wait more than a few minutes.
Btw, good vibes for DR Laura II's friend. I definitely think that standing by him as a friend is the right thing to do. Email me if you need to talk about this, k?

Marie Dressler in MIN AND BILL and MARJORIE MAIN in the Ma & Pa Kettle series
-
DR S. Woody, I'm not really a dog person, but your stories are heart-breaking, and I'm really enjoying reading about them. It's a good thing that you and DR Der Brucer are doing.
-
Jane Russell performing "Ain't There Anyone Here for Love?" (although at times she is upstaged by the male dancers' costumes)
I have two reactions to this comment. Choose one:
A) Or lack thereof.
B) Is Jane Russell in that number?
-
Sex Goddesses....Not exactly my mileu either, but let's see.....
Definitely all the ones mentioned above. How about Miss Dorothy Malone in WRITTEN ON THE WIND? Sharon Tate in VOTD. Miss Welch.....in anything.
-
Miss Welch.....in anything.
My mind wasn't completing the thought, but definitely in The Three/Four Musketeers, Myra Breckenridge, Kansas City Bomber and yes, even on stage in WOMAN OF THE YEAR.
Anyone for Miss Andrews in SOB?
-
Elmore and all - No line at all for me to vote. We were advised, if possible, to go after 9am to avoid the before-work crowds. I don't have to be at work until noon, so I went prepared to wait and then go directly to work. I'm back home now, with a delightful hour and a half to putter around the house, have a nice breakfast, and chat with you all.
Elmore, about Wilson School - A bond issue was passed a year ago to build new buildings on sites of several existing schools, in an attempt to bring facilities up to ADA and technological codes. A new building will appear on the Wilson site and this summer we attended a meeting where we were able to vote (like polling the audience on Millionaire) on architectural style, etc. The new building will have basically the same footprint, but will be 2-story.
For BK, about book signings - There is a wonderful store (not striclty mystery, but with a loyal following of all kinds of readers), Books & Co., in Dayton, Ohio, that does a great job with author visits. They have an outreach coordinator named Sharon Kelley Roth (or Sharon Roth Kelley, I can never remember), who can be reached at 937-298-6540.
-
I would actually cast my vote for Sharon Tate in THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS, though she has little screen time, she is the catalyst (not to be confused with Halle Berry's CATWOMAN) for the film's action, and she really knows how to take a bite out of a final line. . .
Note to DR Stuart: There IS a woman in that particular number in GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES, I've always assumed it's Jane. . . ;)
-
Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton and maybe Ellen Barkin. Certainly Candy Bergen in Carnal Knowledge.
Sex goddesses of THIS particular generation shimmered with intelligence.

Ouch, somebody's cut off her hand. Kind of a venus de milo thing going on there.
-
Sex Goddess...definately Ms. Joi Lansing! So wonderful in HOT CARS, HOLE IN THE HEAD, and WHO WAS THAT LADY?
...and then there was BIGFOOT and HILLBILLYS IN A HAUNTED HOUSE! LOL! But she still looked lovely in both films!
-
...and also on my list would be Greta Thyssen and the always beautiful Allison Hayes.
-
Last night I went to Portland with my buddies Ron and Patrick and we saw TESTOSTERONE at Cinema 21. Interesting movie. Funny at times, but the ending was just too weird for me...and evidently, most everyone else in the theater. I was very impressed with David Sutcliffe as an actor. Very appealing. I know I have seen him before, but I don't know what in. And then there was Antonio Sabato, Jr. who is always nice to look. The two actors seemed most comfortable and natural in their love making scenes!
-
We have no lines here in Oregon, as we no longer go to the polls to vote...we do all voting by mail now. Very convenient.
-
My goodness...I've been away so long. Time flies, yadda yadda. I've thought of this place and you folks often, but somehow didn't find my way here again until now.
I voted today! And here in Florida (Palm Beach, no less) I waited in line for less than 15 minutes. Huzzah! I feel so empowered.
LOL at Marie Dressler and Marjorie Main. They're great. And Marjorie is a fellow Hoosier. Acton, Indiana, in fact...quite near where I grew up.
Fave sex goddesses and the films in which they are at their sex goddessy best:
Jean Harlow
Bombshell
Red Dust
Red-Headed Woman
Marlene Dietrich
Blonde Venus
The Scarlet Empress
Shanghai Express
Louise Brooks
Pandora's Box
Greta Garbo
Flesh and the Devil

Lulu's Back in Town! (a 1935 Harry Warren, Al Dubin and additional British lyric credit for Charles Dunn reference).
Hoo and Ray!
-
Hi LULU!
DRMICHAELSHAYNE is correct about the Julie Andrews At the Ballet appearance, DRJOSE - but who knows where to find it? At first I thought it might be from CBS Presents the Lively Arts for Children - she did an episode with Nureyev - but MS is correct.
-
So many lovely sex goddesses.
Monroe to be sure - I love her musicals - but I REALLY love her in NIAGARA!
Novak in PICNIC, Hayworth in GILDA, RUSSELL in anything (after all it was her job).
-
I can't count Allison as a sex goddesses, although she certainly portrayed many lovely ladies in her career. :o
Here is your Allison Hayes picture of the week....back on the same couch this time with Cameron Mitchell. Her hair is down and she is loaded for bear. ;D
In my next post I will reveal my choice as my FAVORITE sex goddess.
-
We have no lines here in Oregon, as we no longer go to the polls to vote...we do all voting by mail now. Very convenient.
Can you explain more about this. I feel quite stupid because I've never heard of not going to the polls as an option. Do other states do this as well?
-
Miss Carroll Baker! ;D
Wonderful as Baby Doll, terrific in The Carpetbaggers and The Miracle, and a synthetic Harlow, defeated by a phony script!
DRJOSE you might contact the webmaster at
www.bobbanner.com
Banner produced that Julie Andrews show and it might be available from him.
-
Yes I voted. And MR BK I am not sure that mail moves today, so you may not get your DVD's.
DR JMK introduced me to DeepDiscountDVD and I have spent and saved much money there.

I think the DVDs are actually coming UPS, so maybe they'll be here, or maybe tomorrow.
Wonderful sex godess choices and photos.
Welcome back, Lulu! Glad you found your way back to us.
I'm beginning to form a picture of the winning candidate - if the picture forms fully I'll know way in advance of the polls closing, and I'm never wrong about these things when pictures form in my head.
-
But I must say I agree with the "lesser of two evils" comments about this and all elections in the last many years.
I'm glad I missed most of the recent mud-slinging ads on TV.
-
I am wrong....the post office is open today. According to the official site.
-
I'm glad I missed most of the recent mud-slinging ads on TV.
Some of the campaign ads in Philly have been awful. A number of Republican commercials during the past week have attacked a couple of local Democratic Congressional candidates by linking their name with the Taliban and using such phrases as "beheadings of Americans" and "raping women and young girls." Those ads did their work on me, alright--I voted Democrat all the way down the line.
-
Excellent sex goddess choices...and most of mine have been picked.
For me, it's Sophia Loren...and then there is everybody else. She is, to me, the paragon of feminine beauty and voluptuousness. I was always a sucker for her in Houseboat.
No one was ever sexier than Rita Hayworth in Gilda...a wonderful, bizarrely strange movie.
Kim Novak exuded sex and vulnerability...though few of her films overwhelm me. Somehow I remember her most vividly from the Eddie Duchin Story.
Marilyn Monroe was much the same way. I found her especially sexy ina couple of films that were not all that good, River of No Return (which had a great theme song) and Let's Make Love.
Someone mentioned Joi Lansing, who looked like she'd be fun for a jazzy weekend. As did tawdry Cleo Moore...who starred in these equally tawdry "B" films writtem directed, and starring one, Hugo Haas.
There is, of course, BK's heart-throb, the lovely Leslie Parrish.
-
Nobody has metioned Elizabeth Taylor, surely one of Hollywood's most beautiful actresses. Yet I don't think it's an oversight. Perhaps, given her long career, the huge range of her movies - National Velvet, Father of the Bride, Place in the Sun, Butterfield 8, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (those last three being screen-goddess material), and Virginia Wolf - and her personal life, she simply defies categorization.
-
Welcome back, Lulu! Good to see you.
-
I meant to mention that I watched 21 GRAMS this weekend and REALLY liked it. I would definitely say that it's not for everyone. They move back and forth between three stories (past and present). So it is a bit difficult to figure out what is happening. But the stories connect wonderfully. And the acting (Sean Penn, Naomi Watts, and Benicio Del Torro (sp?)) is great. Has anybody else seen this?
Next up will be GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING.
-
LULU!

Does anyone have any remedies for a cold? Not sure if it's the time change. Or a combination of that and the cooler weather. Or maybe my flu shot is acting up. But I've been feeling under the weather the past few days. I've tried echinichea, but it seems worse (could it make things worse?) Any ideas would be great.
-
I voted this morning and for the first time EVER, there was a wait. I had to wait almost 15 minutes! Can you believe that? I've always just gone in, signed my name and voted. So, I have done my civic duty. ;D
-
And June - June Wilkinson.
Marilyn is luminous in Let's Make Love.
Speaking of Leslie Parrish, I had a friend who works at AFTRA see if she could find any contact info there or at SAG, and there is none. She has disappeared off the face of the earth.
-
Hmmmm....I meant to mention to DRCP - Mr Ricou Browning did all the UNDERWATER work on the CREATURE films, and Mr Chapman gets a bit upset when Ricou autographs photos of the Creature that are publicity shots with Chapman in the suit. Browning only did underwater shots.
Such controversy. Browning has mainteined it really doesn't make a difference, a Creature is a Creature...LOL....
-
Someone mentioned Joi Lansing, who looked like she'd be fun for a jazzy weekend. .
Keeping in mind, DR CP, that Joi was a good Mormon girl! LOL!

Where, oh where is Leslie Parrish...someone must know. Just think, BK, somebody, somewhere is her next door neighbor!
JRand54...Allison, no sex goddess? Tell that to the Universal-International pin-up photographers! LOL!
-
In my CD today (to offset all the "news"): Linda Eder's "It's Time"...say what you will about her acting and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, but listening to her voice is pure entertainment! ;D
After that will be Guy Haines' very own "Haines His Way" that I got autographed by our very own Guy Haines AND our very own BK!!
After THAT will be John Buccino's "Grateful: The Songs of John Bucchino."
I love these CDs and today I want to listen to music that I love.

On the way back to the airport from the Beverly Garland Hotel I waited for a taxi with the Creature from the Black Lagoon (Ben). We were going to share the taxi but he was going to LAX and I was going to Burbank.
-
Good Afternoon!
I voted yesterday. Actually, my absentee ballot finally came in and I promptly marked my choices and then overnighted it back to Richmond. And there was actually no line at the post office when I got there - which was very strange. I think the rain had something to do with that.
Of course, the past couple of times when I've checked my home voice mail, I've had those recorded ads from all the mayoral and congressional candidates on my service. Ugh! "Ohhh.. I have messages!.... oh... I have messages..."
It will be interesting to see what kind of audience we have tonight at the show. Although, they've been a reporting a record number of advance voters this years, so, hopefully, most of those voters will be in our audience tonight. :-\
Otherwise, I'm just gonna turn on the TV when I get back to the hotel, and see what the results are, will be, could be...
And the pro- and anti- Tom Delay ads here in Houston... <change the channel>

Hmm. A few weeks ago I was a rat, now I'm the Creature from the Black Lagoon! I'm beginning to wonder about the opinion in which I'm held on this here board ;)

DRs Michael Shayne and JRand54 - Thanks for the answer and suggestions to my Julie Andrews, "At The Ballet" inquiry. Let the digging begin!
-
I'm such a big fan of many actresses, but I never think about the sexiness of their screen personas. I guess I appreciate other qualities rather than their sexiness.
I guess marilyn would be the one that would first come to mind. GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES would be the primo title of hers for me in regard to her sexual allure (wasted on me, of course). I actually prefer watching THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS and RIVER OF NO RETURN, however.
-
DiT you didn’t have to travel far to go to the ALA. Keith was wondering if that was a winter convention. I traveled with Keith to one in Los Angeles but was too busy visiting family and friends to attend.
SWW and DerBrucer your animal shelter story is heartbreaking. I hope you can both use your skills and go public with this facility. They should want volunteers like you to work there and help pets find homes.
-
I had rehearsal this morning, then met a friend for lunch, and by then it was 1:30. I decided to try my polling place then. There was one person ahead of me, and I was in and out in ten minutes - very lucky. The workers said that was the first lull they had had all day long. I guess I must be doing SOMETHING right!
-
Jane - Over the past 30 years, I've gone to the ALA annual conference about every 2-3-5 years and enjoyed every one. Hoping to get to 2005 in Chicago. It was there that I took my husband and son five years ago, turned them loose in the exhibit hall, and when we met it was like they'd been trick or treating. They'd open their bags and say, "Look what I got!"
That is how I felt! :D New Orleans was a wonderful city to spend time exploring by myself. I had to laugh because everywhere I went there were librarians playing hooky from the convention.
Does Gale Research still provide bus service at the conventions?
-
DRJennifer, I need a little more info here! For instance, if your friend is Scott Peterson, I can't do it.
Now would I have friends like that? :(
Actually I didn't give more info because my friend is a very private person. But DR Jane knows the story. It's not for any crime, or for anything he's done wrong. Which is why he needs all the vibes he can get.
-
I believe it WILL be THE RETURN OF THE CREATURE tonight. There is also a new episode of QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY on tonight at 10.
-
The beautiful day they had forecast for us today didn't pan out. There was misty rain this morning as I was driving to my rehearsal, and when I came out from voting, some rain droplets were hitting me. It never developed into a serious rain, and now it's just very gray and muggy outside.
-
Good afternoon all!
I managed to catch up on the weekend posts yesterday, and I fully intended to post something regarding Halloween, but I was dealing with two rather cranky children yesterday. The post-Halloween-sugar high-lack of sleep-too much excitement blahs were in full swing around here yesterday, and I was no better, due to a severe lack of sleep during my weekend.
This Halloween I wore probably my best costume ever. I truly wish I had a picture to post of it. My friend let me borrow this little blue dress, and I decided to turn it into a mature version of Alice in Wonderland. The dress was a simple light blue cotton affair, short flared skirt, very fitted bodice, and strapless. I added a white apron, black shoes, white thigh-highs, and put a black ribbon in my hair, and I was set. My own natural long blonde hair worked in my favor. A simple deal, but I got tons of compliments on it.
I too voted today! For the first time ever! I'm only 23, remember, so that's not as bad as it might sound. I've only missed one presidental election since I became legal. The polls weren't too crowded when I went...I had to wait about five minutes, that was it.
I will be SO glad when all this is over. I was getting sick to death of the TV ads and radio bits. The campaign really got vicious near the end. And I second what Jose said about those irritating phone messages. As one who is still in the job hunting process, each time I hear I have voice mail, I get excited. But yesterday I checked the message only to hear "Hi, this is Bill Clinton." I somehow didn't think he was calling to offer me a job... :)

"Gale Research"
I use one of their products at my place of employ. We used to use the print product but we have migrated over the years from book to CD to Web. They now offer the same information contained in the print product on a database to which you can subscribe. It's easier to use and you don't have to find the book, sift through Volume One or Two and then return the book to the shelf.

It's not the official day for asking. But before I forget, I'd like to know,
DR Matt,
Are you still stacheless?
-
Hmm. A few weeks ago I was a rat, now I'm the Creature from the Black Lagoon! I'm beginning to wonder about the opinion in which I'm held on this here board ;)
And I think you're a friend!
-
My mom says she voted and there was no line.
In my History of the English Language class (HEL for short, a very fitting name) it was my turn to write a sentence on the board in the International Phoenetic Alphabet. So I wrote, "Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die." My teacher didn't know what that meant. And she calls herself educated.
-
Elmore-LOL. It is safe for you to send those vibes to Jennifer.
-
Actually I didn't give more info because my friend is a very private person. But DR Jane knows the story. It's not for any crime, or for anything he's done wrong. Which is why he needs all the vibes he can get.
Well, then, DRJennifer
::)[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]
GOOD COURT VIBES FOR YOUR FRIEND!!!!!!!
[/move]

Vibes for Jennifer's friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
Elmore-LOL. It is safe for you to send those vibes to Jennifer.
Nurse Jane, I only have vibes for you ;D :-* ;D :-* ::) :o ;D
-
Even known by this ex teacher in the land of OZ Sandra.! A classic line.
-
Jennifer Echinacea does not agree with me so it could be making you worse. Drink lots of fluids. If it were summer I would say get some watermelon. Sleep elevated. You might try a humidifier.
Feel better soon and of course, Good court vibes to your friend.
Oregon has an all mail in ballot. I don’t know which other states now have that. I know most states allow you to request a mail in ballot.
-
I believe it WILL be THE RETURN OF THE CREATURE tonight. There is also a new episode of QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY on tonight at 10.
I'm not exactly sure if it portends anything, but the title of tonight's 8:00 TCM flick is Dark Victory.
-
It's not the official day for asking. But before I forget, I'd like to know,
DR Matt,
Are you still stacheless?
I had to grow it back for SOMETHING'S AFOOT (one of the characters in the show discovered I was her long, lost love and sang "The Man with the Ginger Mustache" to me), but the day after we closed, it was shaved off since Father Virgil must be clean shaven (he plays Sister Julia Child of God at one point in the show).
So, right now, the picture looks exactly as I do. The day we close, I will begin the process of growing it back.
Thanks for asking.
-
Thanks for the vibes, Jane, Elmore, Jennifer, and MBarnum!
Vibes to your friend, Jennifer! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I voted a few weeks ago using an absentee ballot for my first presidential election. Not too much of a hassle except for making sure you requested the ballot in time.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Wow, I’m now a sex goddess. Thank you SWW. :)
DiT that is a beautiful photo of Gene Tierney
Hi Lulu
-
I’m not sure I have a favorite sex goddess. If I have to pick one I guess it is Jean Simmons.
Keith just walked in and said, after me (inspired I'm sure by SWW ;D), his favorite is Bridget Bardot who was very hot in her prime.

AH! The "joys" of IPA! I need to go back and refresh my knowledge one of these days. I learned IPA while taking Lyric Diction classes in college. -It was also in that class when I learned just how complicated the English language actually is. Of course, when German has four ways of pronouncing a "u" with an umlaut over it depending upon what letters surround it... -and I still remember having to transcribe and decipher that one phrase in Strauss' "Standchen" where all four u's mit umlauts occur.
-
JRand,
I think I have to agree with Ricou. A creature is a creature. It's not like there is a great amount of acting require. Swim. Tote girl around. Ricou was apparently picked for his unusual swimming style that they thought fitted the creature. The autographed pic I have of him though is definitely him. He's got the mask tucked under his arm, displaying his own rugged features.
-
Jane, I think Jean Simmons is an excellent choice. She's kind of the thinking man's sex symbol. I always found her terribly sexy. I mean what takes Greg Peck so long in THE BIG COUNTRY. Jean's got it all over Carol Baker.
-
Hi to everyone who said hi! And even those who didn't!
:)
I'm making dinner for The Hubby - salmon stuffed with crabmeat (with an olive oil-lemon juice-garlic-rosemary thingy on top), then we will quite likely watch The Mummy (Brendan Fraser version).
To the Joi Lansing fans: Guess what's next on our Netflix queue? Hillbillys (sic) in a Haunted House!
-
Thank you Charles Pogue-so glad I’m a “thinking man”. ;D
Lulu Keith and I have seen THE MUMMY several times. To us it is a fun movie and the stars are so cute and likable.
-
To the Joi Lansing fans: Guess what's next on our Netflix queue? Hillbillys (sic) in a Haunted House!
You'll be scared Lulu! LOL!
And welcome back!!!
-
LOL - DRCP - then Ben can relax about your photo.
MB - was Ben still about 6'5" tall - that would have had to be a tall cab, because you are no midget yourself!
DRCP (again) - LOL @ what you wrote about BIG COUNTRY....in fact in my Epinion review of THE CARPETBAGGERS, I dubbed Miss Carroll Baker, the thinking man's sex symbol...LOL!
MR BK must not have gotten a clear picture yet.
-
RLP: I don't think Leslie was involved in Seven Brides. It was just a couple of years before she started (under her real name of Marjorie Hellen).
Back from lunch with Tammy - must write a couple of more pages, then get ready to teach Alet some music.
elmore: My first idea was to have you orchestrate these few songs, but I realized it would have been prohibitively expensive for me to hire even a small orchestra to play them. Since this is basically a "freebie" I give to book purchasers on the site, I really can't spend that kind of dough. As it is, it's going to cost almost double what Grant charges.
-
Oh and DRMATTH - REVENGE OF THE CREATURE features Mr John Bromfield and Mr John Agar in the Speedo bathing trunks of the 1950's.
-
The vet should be calling soon with the results of Bogie’s latest blood work. Today is the day we find out if the fluids are working. I also let her give him his fluids today while I watched. I think I learned a few tips that should make it easier next time.
She also looked at something on Echo’s mouth that has been there awhile. It might be cancer, but for now we will just watch it. If it begins to grow then we will discuss what to do, depending on her health at the time. This new vet is so sweet. She went outside to Keith and Echo so Echo wouldn’t be stressed by going into the office.
Guess I should attack the tons of laundry waiting for me.
-
Of course, my favorite parts of the Mummy (Brendan Fraser version) movies are the library/librarian jokes!
Jane, I'm wondering if we were at the same New Orleans ALA - does 1993 sound right? As far as I know, Gale still does provide the bus service.
-
When it came to threatening humans, the Creature gave equal opportunity to both sexes! ;D
-
I never cease to be amazed at how gracious people are: I just had a delivery man come to my door with a beautiful plant. It was a housewarming gift from my pal Rupert Holmes. How sweet was that?
-
When it came to threatening humans, the Creature gave equal opportunity to both sexes! ;D
Well, I'm not too sure about that. Look at that wrist, for goodness' sakes!!!
:D

That sounds right. I will double check with Keith. BTW it was Keith who began the busing service.

Bruce, very sweet.

RLP: I don't think Leslie was involved in Seven Brides. It was just a couple of years before she started (under her real name of Marjorie Hellen).
Urpppp! Absolutely correctomundo.
Why oh WHY do I mix up Leslie Parrish with Ruta Lee??????
Dang.

Dear Friend BK, I knew economics had to be the reason, since you hadn't mentioned the possibility, but i would have loved to do the recording with you. I want first dibs on scoring the songs for the film!
-
Why oh WHY do I mix up Leslie Parrish with Ruta Lee??????
That's okay, DRRLP, I'm always confusing Ruta Lee with Ruta Bagga and Hedda Hopper with Hedda Cabbage.
-
Jane - Please tell Keith thank you, thank you, thank you for those busses from thousands of librarians!
-
Ruta is a trip. I've known her for a little over ten years. She regularly attended Jewish dinners at my cousin's house (in the days when I was still invited) and I used to play the piano for her while she'd serenade the crowd. I see her every now and then at events and we always have a nice chat. I see her husband quite often at the local Von's, so they must live somewhere in the City of Studio.
-
LOL RLP! now that you mention it...
-
Watching some of the MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY box set.....gowns for Marjorie Lord by Emeson's of Studio City.
Is it still there.....was it a chichi place?

A quick hello. 12:30 AM here. We're watching CNN waiting to hear something. Rachel made a T-shirt she wore to school today. On it a "W" in a circle with a line through it. The lecturer to her tiny class, the grandson of the last Hapsburg who was just beatified, was amused.
"A little noted, but extremely important, event occurred this past Sunday. An emperor was beatified. The emperor was Karl I, the last Hapsburg monarch, and in a ceremony at the Vatican presided over by Pope John Paul II, he was declared blessed. To many, including myself, Karl of Austria was a man of holy virtue who happened to be one of the last symbols of the dying European order that existed before the ascendancy of mass democracy. To others, he was old-fashioned and anachronistic man obsessed with prolonging the monarchy."
That's from an article about the event. His grandson, who now lives in Hungary, spoke about the European Union and was incredibly interesting. Plus, as the Hungarian representative to the EU, he answered some pertinent questions that I actually needed answered. Good timing.
This city is so beautiful - especially at night - that it just takes my breath away.
-
The vet called with the results of Bogie’s blood work. For the most part the results show he is holding steady or has had some improvement. We are finally slowing the progression of this disease down. :D
-
That's okay, DRRLP, I'm always confusing Ruta Lee with Ruta Bagga and Hedda Hopper with Hedda Cabbage.
LOL.
You crack me up, you old corn dog!
I guess you never met Hedda Lettice!
-
Ginny I will. :D I used them a couple of times but preferred walking since I wasn’t in a hurry and New Orleans was so wonderful
-
A quick hello. 12:30 AM here. We're watching CNN waiting to hear something. Rachel made a T-shirt she wore to school today.
Polls close on the East Coast in 13 minutes. On the West Coast in 3 hours and 13 minutes.
If you can stay up until 2 a.m. or so, you'll get an idea of what "will happen" to us.
I'm hoping and praying and VIBING for a NEW DAY and a CHANGE IN THE POLITICAL CLIMATE.
But I'm going to watch HGTV and SCIFI channel and BRAVO tonight -- new episode of "Queer Eye..." airs tonight, folks, just for the election: The ads have been: Go Republican, or Go Democrat, or....Go Queer.
(Too late, too late, too late for much of this here assemblage!)
-
Watching some of the MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY box set.....gowns for Marjorie Lord by Emeson's of Studio City.
Is it still there.....was it a chichi place?
Do they have little Angela Cartwright with her heavily starched petticoats and screaming "What'd I say? What'd I say?" at least once per episode????
;D

Hmm. A few weeks ago I was a rat, now I'm the Creature from the Black Lagoon! I'm beginning to wonder about the opinion in which I'm held on this here board ;)
I hold you in high esteem, and look forward to the next time we're able to dine together. Good food, good conversations are always better with good guys.
-
Ruta Lee used to be very popular on the dinner theatre circuit back in its heyday. I never worked with her, but everyone who did just loved her. I did meet her a couple of times and she seemed like a lovely lady.
-
I guess you never met Hedda Lettice!
Isn't that a play by Henry Gibson?
-
RLP: I don't think Leslie was involved in Seven Brides. It was just a couple of years before she started (under her real name of Marjorie Hellen).
BK, for what it is worth, Marjorie Hellen of Los Angeles California is in the pay database of www.PeopleData.com
-
It never occured to me to seek her out that way. I wonder if that's how she's listed at SAG. Hmmm....
Tonight I may watch a controversial film on DVD entitled Fat Girl - a new Criterion DVD.

Time for a happier story, or two...
It had taken a few days, but der B had made arrangements for us to take a female dog in to the vet's office, to check on her chip implant. For those who don't know about these doohickies, they now make microchips that can be implanted in dogs, usually along the back of the neck. The implant give a readout to a scanner with a number, which is then called in to the implant company. They, in turn, have the information on how to contact the dog's (or cat's) owner.
The reason for all this was that the Rescue Society had received word that a female dog was being held by a family not too far from where we live. They knew that the dog, named Lexi, had a chip implant, but the mother had to work days and the kids had no way of taking the dog in to the vet themselves. (Isn't it great how all the organizations like vet hospitals who can help these animals never seem to have their hours set up so that people can come in to get their help?)
Lexi, it turned out, was a very nice huskie mix. Her ears were a little fly-bitten, but she had a calm disposition and was very friendly. She had no problems with my putting a leash on her, or with getting in our car and going for a ride with complete strangers.
The only problem was that when we got to the vet hospital, everything was closed down for a couple of hours. It seems that Tuesdays they hold a weekly staff meeting, and don't even leave a receptionist on duty for anyone who comes in. Gee, you'd think they could have told der Brucer about that time-gap on the phone, when he called to make sure they would help us with the stray.
Lacking anything better to do, we took Lexi with us while we went to vote.
Yes, there was indeed a line at our polling place. Lexi didn't mind one bit. She took der B up and down the line, giving everyone friendly sniffs and playing with the children who were waiting with their parents. This clued us in on one major detail about Lexi: she had clearly had a good relationship with people. This also gave der B a chance to talk with other voters about our Animal Rescue activities.
As it was, getting through the polling line took about a half hour, enough time to get the hospital workers back on duty. Returning to the hospital, it only took a few minutes for the doctor on duty to return with the results: yes, Lexi's owners were frantic to get her returned to them! We'd had a hunch they would be, or why have the chip implanted?
We returned Lexi to the family who'd been taking care of her. There's still a few odd questions, such as why the people who had handed Lexi over to the family had known her name, and why they hadn't taken care of Lexi themselves or tried to contact her owners. But it looks like this story is going to have a happy ending.
And no, we don't know what would have happened if der B and I didn't have the time to help with all the transportation. But that's another matter...
-
I never cease to be amazed at how gracious people are: I just had a delivery man come to my door with a beautiful plant. It was a housewarming gift from my pal Rupert Holmes. How sweet was that?
Isn't gracious a wonderful word? Don't you wish everyone was worthy of it?
-
DRs Michael Shayne and JRand54 - Thanks for the answer and suggestions to my Julie Andrews, "At The Ballet" inquiry. Let the digging begin!
Actually I am correct with my answer. No need for digging.
I also believe that this is a photo from the number

I would have sent a house warming gift if I knew where to send it. ;D

SWW will you follow up on Lexi's happy ending? Wonderful story.
-
When it came to threatening humans, the Creature gave equal opportunity to both sexes! ;D
At last, a monster I can truly relate to.
Though what the Creature was trying to do with that guy, I have no idea.
-
I must be off, to chop garlic for tonight's spaghetti dinner. Der Brucer is in his room, watching what I've decided to call the Nattering Nabob News Networks. I am going to spend my time watching...
Well, watching other things. I haven't decided upon what.
****
There was one interesting difference between voting in California and voting in Delaware that I noticed today. The candidates will actually come to the polling places (well, outside a legally mandated distance) and greet voters. They don't do that in CA.
Pete Schwartzkoff, our state Assembly representative, was there to greet us today. Nice fellow, I'd like to get to know him more. He's very good at being bipartisan in his dealings. He was one of the candidates we broke party lines to vote for. On the other hand, our state Senator is someone we voted against, because of his theology-based agenda. That felt strange, voting against a candidate, but it made him the greater of two evils.
-
I guess you never met Hedda Lettice!
Or seen Bring Me the Hedda Alfredo Garcia...
-
SWW will you follow up on Lexi's happy ending? Wonderful story.
I'm sure we'll get word in the next day or two on how things have turned out. We may even be driving Lexi to her owners, who live towards the tip of the peninsula.
(If that happens, Annapolis is just a little further, and I sure could use a Trader Joe's fix about now! :D 8) )
In any case, this story certainly gives good reason for having the chip implants done. Der Brucer is going to be checking on how much it costs locally, which should give a suggestion for the price in other areas. The cost of losing a dog, on the other hand, is something I don't like thinking about.
-
Or seen Bring Me the Hedda Alfredo Garcia...
Or the TV series Hedda Of the Class
-
Or the TV series Hedda Of the Class
Which of course is where I first heard of Bertha Venation.
-
Which of course is where I first heard of Bertha Venation.
And her co-stars
Marina Del Ray and Bang Bang La Desh
In the second season
Ivanna Mann joined the cast
-
And, of course, tonight we're paying attention to who might be the next Hedda State for the USA!
-
Yes MS you were correct....I just offered a link to Bob Banner Productions with the suggestion that the excerpt might be available there!
-
Angela Cartwright....OMG. The wonderful out take of her trying to do a hula hoop routine and and cereal commercial is priceless. (Not on the box set - but on a Goodtimes Video compilation) - Danny is ready to blow his top after she stops for the third time and has to start all over.....
-
Angela Carwright was so cute and I just loved her voice. I wasn't allowed to stay up "late" and watch the show if I had school the next day. I would sneak and sit on the stairs just to hear her voice.
-
Yes MS you were correct....I just offered a link to Bob Banner Productions with the suggestion that the excerpt might be available there!
I was there I don't think there is a clip of that show,
-
DR Jane, good pet vibes to the gang. ~~~~~~~~~~
Also, how do I know if the echinachea is not working?
-
Wow lots of posts since I last checked HHW.
Not much on tv tonight except election stuff. Well there is the Gilmore Girls (but it's only on at 10pm here).
-
Ginny, Keith says you are welcome. He also corrected me, He didn’t start the bus service but saved it when there was talk of canceling it. He did begin the library of the year award.
Jennifer thank you and I suppose it isn't working if you don't feel better quickly. I think someone who uses the stuff should be able to tell you. I just know people who say they take it when they begin to get sick and then they stay healthy. ???
-
Nope MS - I just thought if DR JOSE's MD was going to get a clip - he might as well start at the top. LOL....I saw that picture and wondered if it was from that number....whew! Now I want to see it too. Of course I would like to see all the episodes of Julie's ABC series as well. I remember watching it and being very disappointed that she did so much lip-synching! Who did she think she was, Norma Zimmer?
Good news about your puppy, DRJANE!
-
Not much on tv tonight except election stuff. Well there is the Gilmore Girls (but it's only on at 10pm here).
Both DARK VICTORY and CAMILLE are on TCM. Get out your handkerchiefs . . . :'(
-
But TD - MANHUNT is on Bravo!
-
Is everyone going to go get Election Night pancakes? It's almost time.
-
3 AM here - still watching CNN.
-
I could use some pancakes.
-
I was invited to a friend's down the street to watch the election night coverage and let me tell you how fast I turned down THAT invite.
-
Bruce-LOL
JRand thanks but Bogie is the cat. I'm sure it is difficult for you to keep them straight since they both have serious medical conditions. So far this has been a good week.
-
Evening all.
First I want to say that I think SWW and Der Brucer are a pair of true heros for all of the good work they do for the dogs that are lucky enough to cross their path.
Just for the record, both Bear and Brandi have the Micro Chip and have had them for years. Bear had his about six months after I got him. I had never heard of a Micro Chip before then. Brandi had hers from Day One. The pound had put it in as a matter of routine.
Election day. I voted last week. I’m not real happy with either choice but I at least I made one that I hope will be right. That’s all anyone can do.
I will be glad that there are no more of those, “I’m so and so and I approved this message.” commercials. I am so SICK of them.
Good vibes for DR Jennifer’s friend! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Glad to hear that things are getting better for you, DR Elmore and DR Michael. Vibes to both of you as well so things continue that way!~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
TCB, be well. Healing vibes to you. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Vibes to anyone I missed as well. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ ~ ~ ~~~
Well, I can’t speak for anyone else but I have a very hard time adjusting to the time changes. I am so tired right now I can barely hold my eyes open. I think I shall be hitting the hay very soon.
DR Tom, I think the DVD you are talking about will not work in the States. I didn’t know about a new CD. I hope it has, I Was Born To Love You. He sang that at the concert in Utah. I had to buy the Queen CD it was on to get all of the words but I still hear Michael’s voice. I had never heard that song before the concert and I couldn’t /still can't get it out of my mind.
It’s ok that he isn’t going to be in Chitty. I know he liked the response he got at the concert in Utah so he might come back to States and do another one. I don’t care if it’s in Idaho in the dead of winter; I will go see him again.
Poor Jane. I talk to you so much though e-mails that I barely talk to you on the board. Glad to know things are looking a bit better for Bogie. I hope that it is NOT cancer in Echo’s mouth.
I know how you feel. Bear has some bumps on him that I had the vet take a look at. She said that it could be warts or cancer but since he is such a big dog and getting on in years, it would be dangerous to remove them without putting him to sleep first. If they do that, I could lose him as well because of his size/age.
She suggested we just keep an eye on them for any kind of development and if something else should arise that causes him to have surgery, to have all of them removed at that time. We just have to hope that they are not cancer in the mean time.
Forgive me but I'm off to the land of wuss. Wake me when the election has been decided. Have a good evening all. :)
-
Forgive me but I'm off to the land of wuss. Wake me when the election has been decided. Have a good evening all. :)
Considering the number of lawyers primed to contest the election results, we'll wake Danise in a week, at the earliest.
:-\
-
Hot diggety-dang! Last I saw on the local station reports, the Governor's race in Delaware is running neck and neck!
I know, I'm perverse, I'm too busy looking at the local stuff to give a * about the national, but these are people I'm more likely to meet and converse with, and maybe sway their opinions at some time in the future.
The activist in me is also an optimist.
-
Thank you Danise. Odd as this may sound, we are only concerned if it is a fast growing cancer, which so far it isn't. If it is a slow growing one it won't matter. On the otherhand the panalog we were putting on the "sore" could have caused the hair not to grow back in and all will be well in a month.
-

DRJane, I'm glad the vet didn't revoke your nurse's privileges, and I'm truly happy Echo's health isn't compounded by cancer and Bogie seems to maintain (I hope I'm right) status quo. I don't envy you your situation.
On a totally different subject, I've just spent the past hours watching MEAN GIRLS, which made me laugh out loud often. I'm 40 years out of high scholl and things haven't changed much, only the lowered standards and budgets for extracurricular activities. While I'm waiting the election results with much concern, I hate this constant speculation over incoming ballot tallies.
Well, I'm an ass! I reread your post again, DRJane, and it might be cancerous. I could be dishonest and blame it on the drugs, but I admit, I misread it, and I'm sorry.
-
elmore-LOL-it is okay and it might not be and if it is it probably won't make a difference. That is our hope anyway. It doesn't seem to bother her.
-
The things I miss by not living in town-William Windo and Barry Corbin are filming a movie in Ashland. I am also a bit behind the news-I just read that in the Sunday paper.

Well it is 10.17 on the east coast. Preparing to go to bed. Election results have me scared. I guess I will find out tomorrow.
-
Well, it's time for bed. I have to be in the office early to wait for any fixes coming from Chicago. The report this evening is that the Humanities Festival has a great show on their hands, and the band rehearsal went well.
The jerk musical director set a key on the show's best ballad "Nickel for A Dime" for the singer three weeks ago, and we printed the parts and sent them to Chicago. Well, today they're dropping the song down one step to its original key, and I don't know if we need to find the original parts and ship them to Chicago tomorrow or not. I'd rather see the jerk end up with egg on his face.
-
I've not been able to log on this evening until now. not that I have much to say.

I haven't been able to log on until now either. Either the site was coming up very, very slowly, or it didn't come up at all.
DRs JRand and MichaelShayne - The pic posted from the Julie Andrew's special is not from the "At The Ballet" number. In "AtB" she's wearing a flowing white/cream dress with long arms/sleeves. As for the "digging", I meant in terms of finding a copy for myself and the conductor. *With the way the music was "altered", she was wondering if Marvin Hamlisch approved of it. ;)

Well... Even though I slept in today, it feel like it has been a long day for me. Well, at least a long evening...
Goodnight.

My sister's boyfriend (Larry, who built my computer) came over to try and fix a couple of things...my DVD player (burner, actually) is not playing properly. He reinstalled Windows 2000 and downloaded all of the critical Microsoft updates and nothing changed with the DVD burner. It did, however, fix the problem that the computer was having playing the solitaire game that I have! Small step forward...at least with my computer, there has been no steps back. And that's a good thing. :)

It's been a day. To the land of sleep, go I. Nighty-night!

It looks as if our esteemed BK is also having problems, what with the late notes. That definately sounds like server problems.

You'll read all about the problems in the notes, which I will now post. You can imagine how happy I've been, given that the site was down for over three hours. I will be having a little discussion with our webhost first thing in the morning, because their feeble e-mail excuse isn't even written in a language I can understand.
