Well, you've read the notes, the notes weren't all that, and now it is time for you to post until the not all that cows come home.

And the word of the day is: INTERSTITIAL!

The first post after BK!

Still wide awake (Damn it!).

Good morning, all!

I have more going on today than I'd like. Physical therapy this morning, and then I have to rush home to deal with a delivery. At 1:00, the Wright State stydent is coming by with his finished arrangement for me to look over. I'll be wanting a nap after that.
-
This is about the third or fourth day this week that seems like it should be Friday, so I'm glad it's really Friday this time!
-
It is 14 degrees outside

No time for watching anything these past few days. Things should begin to improve tomorrow evening when I get some musical work behind me.
Was listening to Zorba yesterday for the first time since last winter. Love it more every time I return to it.

I finished the first draft of my new play in THE HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS series.
This one was fairly easy to write because I knew two of the three people being portrayed.
Now, I'll let it sit for a couple of weeks before I look at it again with fresh eyes.
-
Contracts aren't signed yet, but it appears that there will be a production of my play, LOMBARD, in upstate NY in August.
The theater has already started promoting the show on its website.
:)
-
Thanks for all the vibes. My mother's surgery went fine. She will have a few followup visits in the next couple of weeks.
But that part is over, at least.
-
DR GEORGE that sounds like exactly the kind of play I don't like.....if I am going to see a play about actors or the theatre, I prefer something like LAUGHING STOCK or NOISES OFF.
-

I feel the same about that score.

We use this word at work a lot. And I don't like it. It does not flow easily off the tongue.

I'll let you know when the contracts are signed. It seems like a 99% go, but I don't want to jinx it.

Friday morning greetings! Still coughing here and waiting for the results of yesterday's blood tests.
-
But at least I got us to Page 2!

I got to therapy early and there was no one waiting. I went right in. Today's ordeals included a brutal massage of the muscles connecting my thigh to my hip. Gurjeet warned me that the area may become black and blue over the weekend. It hurt like hell but I left feeling much better.

I concur.

I never had any desire to see Armageddon, but I always wonder why the Criterion Collection released it in a big box set.
"Armageddon" came out around the same time as "Deep Impact." They're very similar stories...a huge meteor is on a collision course to Earth and we're all gonna die. However, "DI" seem more realistic in its approach to the situation. The characters are also much more introspective about the situation. It's not all "let's blow up some stuff." And "DI" has Morgan Freeman as the president. You just can't beat that. :D

I'm off work today. But have a LOT of things on my to-do list. One of them is a purchase of a digital piano for home. My old one has a key that sticks and would cost too much to get it fixed - cheaper to buy a new one.

I won't be able to watch it until at least Sunday night...maybe even Monday.

Every time I see a promo or hear someone talking about Grey's Anatomy, I always think to myself: "Is THAT still on?"
Speaking of which.....the Amazing Race starts tonight .... but the teams are made up of YouTube and Vine "celebrities in their own minds" - so I am not sure I will be able to watch the entire season.
-
DR CILLA LIZ it sounds like you are getting a LOT done!!
Yes friends and politics can be a volatile mix - and I have certainly found one side to be more intolerant than the other.

Hey, it was a post.

News flash: Jim Gilmore has dropped out of the presidential race.
I don't even know who he is. :-\
-
In my CD player right now: the new recording of A New Brain (http://castalbums.org/recordings/A-New-Brain-2015-Encores-Concert-Cast/30516).
-
After that will be the OCR of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Bloody-Bloody-Andrew-Jackson-2010-Original-Cast/20344). I don't know why I never got this before.
-
Also on the pile, the OBC reissue (with slightly different tracts) of Footloose (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Footloose-1998-Original-Broadway-Cast/1786#36446). I used to have the original OBC release, but that was stolen. When I ordered this, I also reordered the original OBC release because I do things like that.
;)
-
And finally, the OBC of Glory Days (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Glory-Days-2009-Original-Broadway-Cast/17122). This is another CD that I had never ordered before. We'll see how it is.
-
I won't be able to listen to all of these today, but I'm on Disc 2 of "A New Brain," so I'll at least get through that and definitely "BBAJ."

About the review for "Circle Mirror Transformation" that I posted yesterday, the reviewer posted an expanded version on his website here:

Shameless plug below:
The set and lighting are deceptively simple and effective. (No one is credited in the program for set design, but Tom Sanders is listed as set construction, and Sam Arsenault is credited for propsprimarily a big ball, a hula hoop and a cleverly designed combination bench and storage cabinet.) The projected videos are captivating (Eklund did them and the sound design; and as director she has to be credited for the complex and excellent blocking). And since I've listed half the crew I should list the rest of the unsung heroes behind this production, all of whom deserve praise: Stage Manager Austin C. Lang; Lighting design Lang and Vanessa Postil; light and sound booth George Dougherty, who is seldom acknowledged for the critical job of running lights and sound for Theater Artists Olympia, Olympia Little Theatre, and Olympia Family Theatre; and Producer Allison Gerst, longtime costume designer for OLT.
:D
(except that I have really only run sound and not lights...but why quibble?)

Back from the non-Teddy haircut, which is fine, then finishing up the book, then lunch. I think Grant will try to actually send it in tonight.

We all need to rant sometimes and you have a good reason to do so.

It isn't raining. I had better hurry and take Salty, the dog, for a walk.

Thats to DRS Ron and John G for playing my broadway quote guessing game.
You are both right. it was from WICKED!!!

Had a good and busy day, all work related but very good. It was just the sort of day I needed to close out this totally insane week.

LOL, you're right. I thought he was a Dem. See what I know

He even got 12 votes in Iowa. I don't remember them reading his name. We didn't have a real ballot, just a piece of paper you got when you signed in and after the speeches you wrote who you wanted to vote for and turned it in

I just finished BBAJ and really enjoyed it. Musically, it's similar to Joan Jett and The Blackhearts' version of "Love Is All Around (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4tkLy9AaD4)," the theme from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" (which I love). The score really is a short one, though.
-
I was thinking of Jim Webb.
-
Gilmore was a governor of Virginia who won the election with the promise of "no car tax." He wanted to eliminate the personal property tax. While it was reduced, it's still with us.
-
Fun fact: Virginia Governors cannot run for re-election so all our Governors are one term (4 years).
-
Thanks for all the vibes. My mother's surgery went fine. She will have a few followup visits in the next couple of weeks.
But that part is over, at least.
Great news, DR Jrand65!

Well, I had to look him up.

Do you find that keeps them focused on the work ahead without thinking about re-election and campaigning?
-
I love watching the sun reflecting off of the river. It was a lovely sunset tonight.
-
Well, I must be going. I have to bring my tablet, the money till, and the Square card reader to The Midnight Sun so that TAO can use it for the opening night tonight of "On the Verge"! Then, I'm off to Olympia Little Theatre for the show that I'm involved in (see earlier expanded review ;D ). I won't be posting until I get home...whenever that will be.
Be back later!

I would think that two terms would be better. There has to be a learning curve in the beginning

We are about to watch Deja Vu

Good morning, all.
I have been felled by allergies. Even the Benedryl failed to help.
Is that a thing to have allergies in the winter? I think it is too cold here for allergies. I am not looking forward to the frigid temps expected. There is supposed to be a windchill of -31C. Yuck.

It's the cedar pollen, which is heavy in the winter. Ugly counts are in the 5,000 count area. Yesterday the count topped 30,000. I was not alone in my agony. TodAy was better.

Good evening!
-
Happy Friday evening to one and all (me).
-
Today was a rainy day.
-
Of course, it was the day I promised to drive down to Shelton for breakfast with a friend.
-
The rain was so heavy, it was like driving in a tunnel.
-
I couldn't do anything but just keep my eyes on the freeway and the cars around me.
-
I was in Olympia before I realized it.
-
It was a real white-knuckle drive.
-
Good night, all.
-
It was a real white-knuckle drive.
I don't think that is spelled correctly.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Oh well, the correct intent is there.
-
By the time I drove home, the storm was gone and the sun was shining.
-
Still we have continued rain storms for the foreseeable future.
-
I know someone from Canada who is on her way to compete in the Westminster dog show. She had to make an unplanned stop as she could not see to drive the icy roads. She said it was terrifying.
-
By the time I drove home, the storm was gone and the sun was shining.
:)
-
Rapid recovery vibes to Jrand's mom.
-
I don't know Mr. Gilmore or Mr. Webb.
-
Although, Jimmy Webb is a great songwriter.
-
But I don't think I would want him as president.
-
Sorry Jane, I didn't know you were here.
-
I was just rambling again.
-
Another TCB hour.
-
This is my first Friday night since the show closed. All the cast members are lamenting not having a show to do.
-
Lamenting on Facebook, I should have said.
-
I guess I drove Jane away.
-
Not a big surprise with this boring dribble.
-
My life in a nutshell.
-
SIX!
-
Time to get ready for bed.
-
And I am back.
-
Not that anyone was here to miss me.
-
WHY do I keep getting these e-mails for Edible Arranements. I get, at least, one a day.
-
I find them way overpriced and rather silly.
-
If you are going to send someone fruit, it would be better to send it in its original packaging.
-
$40.00 for chocolate covered orange slices (1 orange).
-
$36.00 for 12 chocolate dipped strawberries. Wow! They must be on sale.
-
Really? If you are going to give such a gift, wouldn't be better to dip them yourself? Then you could eat your mistakes.
-

:o WTH??

Really? If you are going to give such a gift, wouldn't be better to dip them yourself? Then you could eat your mistakes.
Absolutely!
-
"Circle Mirror Transformation" tonight went really well.
-
The house was officially sold out (and so is Sunday's matinee!), but there were some empty seats.
-
And a couple of people left the show during the second act!
-
What's that all about??
