Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the haircut and getting the book on its merry way, and now it is time for you to post until the merry cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CALUMNIATE!
-
The idea of owning an original David Byrd work of art is pretty cool, but I can't imagine that I could afford it.
-
Well, it's time for me to go to bed. I need to go to work today and make up some time from this week, but also because we're losing two days of invoicing next week.
-
Then I'm going to my sister's to help move a heavy TV downstairs before I go to "Circle Mirror Transformation."
Have a good day, all.
-
Good morning
-
I had a closing last night so I didn't get out of the office until after 8 pm
-
Then I stopped by my Mom's house.
-
My brother that lives up by Boston was there for the day (and night) so I went to chat with him
-
Got home a little after 10
-
Put on my Jammie's and made myself a coffee but had no flavored creaMer
-
So I put a drop or 20 of Kahlua in,
-
Just for the flavor y'know
-
I was drowsy by time the Vixter and Vixdad wandered in from their activities
-
I woke up this morning in the recliner
-
Slept straight through the night
-
I think I have a dentist appointment today
-
I guess I better check on that
-
Nice mention in the write up George
-
Glad to hear your mom is doing well, Jack. Vibes for a quick and easy recovery
-
10:30 dentist...
-
Good morning, all! I am going to spend today finishing up my taxes so that tomorrow I can check and double check the who shebang before seeing my accountant on Monday.
At 10:00 the Wright state student is coming over top show me his finished arrangement, and I hope we finish up by noon.
-
DR TCB, are you still watchng GRIMM? I gave up on it; I'm happier with my DVD player and the BBC mysteries.
-
I slept quite well last night, 9:30PM to 7:00AM, but I remember no dreams. I'm blaming the codeine.
-
Coffee!!
-
Almost two hours since my last post. Where the fat hell is the morning crew?
-
Thanks to everyone for the vibes and good wishes. My mom is doing fine....and we shall see what happens.
-
Trash vibes for MR BK - I find it difficult to throw anything away.....but sometimes I get in the mood to do it....and then LOOK OUT!
-
DR GEORGE RE: the second act walkouts.
Sometimes when I go to a show or a movie something happens or something is said, and then I feel like Popeye the Sailor and say: "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more." And then I leave.
-
TOD:
I like to make/eat the good old tuna casserole.
And I like glop - which is just spaghetti and ground beef....sometimes green peppers, depending on the sauce......
I also like chicken alfredo.....but at a restaurant it can be hit and miss....
-
I had to do my banking today since Monday is President's Day!

Saturday morning greetings! It's ver-r-r-ry cold here in SW Ohio today.
-
I gave Richard his choice of cut-out cookies or apple pie for his Valentine's Day treat and he opted for the pie, which is now in the oven. I tried something cute for the crust and will post a picture if it turns out.
-
My Wright State student is almost 45 minutes late and I am not amused. There wll e some tense moments when he arrives. My taxes are waiting and I'm no longer patient.
-
Good morning, all.
Continued vibes for JRand's mom and anyone else in need.
-
I have trimmed back the roses this morning. Somehow it always makes me feel like Morticia Adams.
-
TOD:
I love making different types of macaroni and cheese with whatever ingredients I have on hand, including multiple cheeses, some truffle oil and who knows what all else, and breadcrumbs on top.
I also love making pasta. I've only done it a couple of times, but it's therapeutic emptying your mind and just relaxing while you feed the dough through the pasta maker and letting it come out thinner and thinner with each pass.
That said, I should never eat pasta in this country. It causes my blood sugar to skyrocket. It didn't do that in Italy. I think it's a difference in the wheat used.
-
I have only walked out on one play in my life. It was a really tired production of "The Cemetery Club" and we left at intermission.
-
Slept straight through the night
Lucky you!
-
Thanks to everyone for the vibes and good wishes. My mom is doing fine....and we shall see what happens.
Continued vibes.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
DR George it was nice to see you mentioned in the review.
-
Actually I have also only left three plays at intermission, and I never walked out during a performance......
-
Started a root canal on one tooth and got a filling in another. And these are the anchor teeth for m temporary bridge so. No bridge for awhile
-
Glad we didn't have any plans for a fancy smancy dinner tomorrow
-
They say it's 22 degrees out now The wind just ripped the screen door form my hand when I came home from the dentist.
-
It feels much much colder
-
Think I will stay in until tomorrow
-
Started a root canal on one tooth and got a filling in another. And these are the anchor teeth for m temporary bridge so. No bridge for awhile
Sorry you can't wear the bridge. I hope you heal quickly.

Vibes the teeth being worked on last years and years and years!!!

Good day all:
It is minus 2 degrees here in Sunny West Seneca, NY.

TOD:
I guess spaghetti would be the one pasta dish I most like to make because it is easy!!!

MY BROADWAY MUSICAL QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"You have the cool clear eyes of a seeker of wisdom and truth".
Any guesses DRS???
-
Dear BK,
What Is your new book about???
-
Bk,
I am still hoping you will write more books about your teenage years continuing THE KRITZERLAND SERIES.
-
I watched Bridge of Spies last night. I enjoyed reading others' responses to it.
I did enjoy it. I am not sure about the accuracy of what I was seeing. I certainly remember reading all about it and hearing about it. I was probably in the third grade or so. Of course I didn't realize exactly what it was all about. But it did concern THE RUSSIANS! And SPIES! And ATOMIC BOMBS! And WAR! So I knew it was important.
I didn't like the "by the books" writing, where one character or another would always repeat a phrase at different points in the movie in some heavy handed way. As soon as Abel told that story about the "standing man", I knew that sooner or later he would call Donovan the same thing......
-
Good news about THE BOOK!
-
The new book is about Patrick Bronstein - an eighty-four year old movie producer - he's been in the last four Hofstetter books.
-
DR JR&65,
i will continue to say prayers for your mom!!!
-
BK, I am looking forward to reading your new book!!! :-*

So, I've been very surprised that after a good start on the Indiegogo campaign we just stalled out at 1380 with no movement for almost three days - that's really bad and you need momentum if a campaign is to be successful. On the first day I'd seen a post from someone on a page where I'd shared the campaign saying he wanted to contribute and had tried but he couldn't get it to work. I know the person and have for years - he was a teacher at LACC and I staged the musical numbers on a couple of shows for him. He mentioned the amount he wanted to contribute, too, so I e-mailed him, called him, and PMd him and heard nothing at all. This morning he called me. He's in his mid eighties now and a computer luddite, but I talked him through things - it took an entire hour to do it, and there were several points where I just said, "Should I come over and you can give us a check" it finally worked, the contribution finally went through and we are now - you won't believe it - 51% funded - yes, he took the big boy perk perk for $5,000. Amazing. Now, please share the campaign because we've got the other 50% to raise and we need every dollar of it for the band and sound packages.
-
Now that the 5K perk is gone, I may add a 2500 perk if I can think of something fun.
-
Oh, and I'm up.
-
My student just left. And I can return to my TAXES!
-
What a nice, productive Saturday this is turning out to be.
-
It is way too cold. :(
-
Hello, everyone.

GREAT NEWS! A big pat on the back to your contributor and kudos to you, Bruce, for your patience in getting it through.

Continued recovery vibes to JRand's mama. This was an outpatient surgery?

DR George, how does it feel to be appreciated? :)
(I say that because I feel that frequently people are not given enough credit for their time and efforts.)

It's great except that he said I run lights, which I don't. I've only done it once. But it was VERY nice of him to mention us techies. :D

Nice mention in the write up George
Thanks, Vixmom!

DR GEORGE RE: the second act walkouts.
Sometimes when I go to a show or a movie something happens or something is said, and then I feel like Popeye the Sailor and say: "That's all I can stands, I can't stands no more." And then I leave.
I can understand that. I can remember only leaving a show (during intermission) once. I wasn't feeling well and really needed to get home...but otherwise, I've stuck it out seeing some pretty bad theater. Fortunately, bad theater is a fairly rare occurrence in Olympia anymore.
-
I have only walked out on one play in my life. It was a really tired production of "The Cemetery Club" and we left at intermission.
Ya gotta do whatcha gotta do, but better during intermission than the middle of the second act. ::)
-
DR George it was nice to see you mentioned in the review.
Thanks, Jane!
-
That said, I should never eat pasta in this country. It causes my blood sugar to skyrocket. It didn't do that in Italy. I think it's a difference in the wheat used.
I was reading something about that recently, but I can't recall where. I do know that there have been a lot of problems attributed to the newer, high-yield wheat. Another reason to choose gluten-free products.
One of the problems with the genetically-modified products is that they add a "foreign" molecule and don't say what it is. If it's something you're allergic to it could mean big trouble. I find this reprehensible. Surely consumers should be informed and able to make their own decision.
-
MY BROADWAY MUSICAL QUOTE OF THE DAY:
"You have the cool clear eyes of a seeker of wisdom and truth".
Any guesses DRS???
It was SO familiar and just couldn't think of what it's from. I broke down and looked it up. ::)
I won't post what it is so that someone who actually remembered it can.
-
I read recently about a bakery in I think the Berkeley area that is using heirloom grains. DR John G, have you heard about this? If you could buy them either locally or mail-order it might solve the problem.
-

It can make up for the times when you have worked, but weren't given credit. Which were probably many.
-
Dental vibes to Vixmom!
-
I see that DR Elmore has joined the Torture Club. I'm sorry you have to go through this and I truly hope you see good--and sustainable--results quickly.
-
Good afternoon. It's in the low 20's. Cold but not quite the horror the weather people predicted.

TOD:
Lasagne (but I have to confess I don't make my own sauce)

Congrats on the Indiegogo progress, BK!

Thanks DR George for playing my quote game!!!

Supreme Court Justice Scalia is dead.
-
Now that the 5K perk is gone, I may add a 2500 perk if I can think of something fun.
How about the Byrd images?
-
It is way too cold. :(
I think it's 85 outside here today. And I can breathe again.
-
I'm in George's camp. I would be interested in the Byrd images, but I doubt I could afford one. I do have a framed limited print of the Follies poster that he signed. It's a small thing, but it means a great deal.
-
Supreme Court Justice Scalia has died. I never liked him so all I can say is I'm glad he's no longer on the Supreme Court.
-
Prayers being said right now for Supreme Court Justice Scalia. May he rest in peace!!!
-
I will record Downton Abbey and watch The Republican presidential debate.
-
Have any DRS seen BROOKLYN?
-
I Want to read the book and also see the movie (Brooklyn)
-
It is way too cold. :(
I think it's 85 outside here today. And I can breathe again.
It's -23C (-9F) with a windchill of -39C. That is by far the coldest it has been this winter. Positively horrible.
-
Its just you and me DR Kevin!!!
-
and Jennifer!
-
Good morning woops
Good afternoon woops
Good evening, all.
-
Now that the 5K perk is gone, I may add a 2500 perk if I can think of something fun.

That's a great idea! Still couldn't afford it, though. ::)

Back, from a day of audition playing at Pearl Studios in NYC.
Long day, man. But fun.
-
Did I say fun? Well, it's all relative.
-
And OMG is it ever cold in the streets of Manhattan. It's a day for being dressed for the Arctic.
Got a nice fire going in the fireplace now. Perfect.
-
What's the best song and the worst song you heard today DR CHAS SMITH?
-
Prayers being said right now for Supreme Court Justice Scalia. May he rest in peace!!!
I hope he rots in hell. Horse racing, I guess.

While a lot of work we make two dishes when we have company though we cheat now and use a jarred sauce we buy from Michigan.
The first dish is Eggplant Rolletini:
2 large eggplant peeled and thinly sliced (eggplant=18 thin slices?)
12 oz angel hair pasta (closer to 7.5 oz)
1 jar pesto sauce
2 large eggs beaten
Flour
Canola oil
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Grated asagio or parmesan cheese
2 small cans sliced olives
6-8 cups of your favorite tomato sauce
(we have been using Café Cortina’s Pomodoro Sauce)
Peel and thinly slice eggplant.
Lightly sprinkle both sides with salt and set on paper towels for 30 minutes
Cook angel hair pasta, drain & place in large bowel
Add pesto sauce to taste and mix
Then add grated parmesan and/or adagio cheese to taste
Dredge eggplant in flour
Dip into egg mixture
Sauté till lightly brown
Drain well on paper towels
To Assemble:
Coat bottom of baking dish with tomato sauce
Take one slice of eggplant and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and olive slices. Now, place a finger-full of pasta at one end and roll up jelly style. Rolletini should be tight
Place seem side down in the baking dish
Repeat process until all the rolletini have been made
-
The other dish is Past Siciliano. It has sauteed onions, raisins, pine nuts and diced eggplant which is then added to a tomato cream sauce with parmesan and/or adagio cheese added. The sauce is then tossed over penne pasta.
-

Ya gotta do whatcha gotta do, but better during intermission than the middle of the second act. ::)
I've left at intermission a couple times, never in the middle of an act
-
I will record Downton Abbey and watch The Republican presidential debate.
The Republican debate is tonight, Downton is tomorrow. At least I think that's right
-
Rest in Peace to Justice Scalia. I didn't always agree with him, but I still wish him peace and comfort to his family
-
Good idea to maybe make one of the Byrd paintings a perk. I could also do a perk of a signed note from Mr. Sondheim to me - I have hundreds and wouldn't miss one or two, frankly. What do you think a price for that would be?
-
One of the Byrd paintings is from the Bay Cities release The Anastasia Affaire. It's pretty amazing and probably is worth a couple grand any day of the week. Someone go find the image from the CD and post it so everyone can see it.

And on that note (E-natural), I'm going. I've been at work (getting work done), and now I have to go to my sister's, then drop off my tablet at The Midnight Sun, then to Olympia Little Theater for tonight's show of "Circle Mirror Transformation."
Until later!

Congratulations to George!

Well poop. I was watching 48 hours, just when they were about to solve the case they cut away to Obama talking about Justice Scalia and now it's the debate. Ok, I remember the case vaguely, but it would have been nice to see how they solved it. It's almost like cutting away near the end of a mystery when they are about to wrap it up and never finishing it.

I had lunch with Paul today. He called like nothing had happened, as I expected he might. The first thing he said as he sat down was "So, there's a big debate tonight" and every time I tried to talk about something else he went back to politics. Lol, I give up. I just hope he gets over this obsession fairly quickly.

Do you have a favorite brand of sauce. My big problem is I haven't found one I really like, even the ones I ship from Michigan I prefer to use the sauce in cooking something else than eating it plain, or slightly doctored, over pasta.

Today was our first performance of Jerry's Girls - it went well. I've decided I'm really not a performer and have anxiety playing shows, rehearsals, no - but people are so damn judgmental that it's getting to the point where it's not worth putting myself out there.
There, I've said it.

I have been in shows that I was sorry to see end, but this goes way beyond that.
-
And the compliments keep coming in on the show.
-
I accomplished nothing today.

-
I went to the store, but I forgot to pick up anything for tonight's dinner.

So, I said to hell with it, and ordered a pizza.

I was going to make that recipe from the back of the MURDER AT THE HOLLYWOOD DIVISION for dinner tomorrow, but I guess I will wait now till Tuesday or Wednesday.
