Well, you've read the notes, the notes were inside out, and now it is time for you to post until the inside out cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ENCOMIUM!
-
Who'll be first ordering the book?
-
Who'll be first ordering the book?
Well, I just ordered it. :D
-
My tax return has been accepted! Now, I will be able to check on the status of my return...in 72 hours. :-\
-
But I didn't make any technical mistakes, so that's good.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
-
Who'll be first ordering the book?
Well, I just ordered it. :D
Same here.
Am I the first East Coast order for the book? :)
-
Good Morning. Well, I'm sure it will be eventually be a good morning. Right?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Book ordered!
-
Woke up to a 45-degree morning. Quite the difference from the negative nines, etc., of the past few days.
Well, I approve, damn it to HELL. Bring it on, I say!
-
Today I must finish up the programming, then schlep the equipment down to this church that's sort of out in the country a few towns over where the musical will be playing for the next three weekends. Never been there or seen anything done by this group, so it will be interesting.
-
Would Humoresque (Joan Crawford, John Garfield, Oscar Levant) be considered a weepie? How about Sincerely Yours with Liberace? Those are two I always instantly recall in this kind of context from afternoon movies on black-and-white TV. Other than those, I'd name the Douglas Sirk films, first and foremost Imitation of Life which I clearly remember first seeing at a drive-in with the family.
-
Good morning, all.

What is the town, ChasSmith?

Good morning, all!
-
I had a bad night and I'm feeling poorly. My throat is sore.
I cancelled physical therapy and learned that they were all sick and had cancelled all appointments yesterday,
-
And it is warm again. I may reopen the windows.

John Kilgore, in whose Manhattan studio we recorded the American tracks for ROBERTA, won a Grammy last night for mixing "Ask Your Mama," and our producer Judith Sherman won her fifth Grammy as classical producer of the year.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! Just checking in to say HI and tell you I will be E & T all day. Becky and I are going to Dayton for a seminar about the health care coverage we both have through the Ohio Public Employment Retirement System. Doing a couple of shopping errands and having lunch on the way.
See y'all this evening...

Workshop vibes for DR GINNY.
-
DR TCB - you are probably right. That $6 I received probably put them in a "hold" on the refund account. Hopefully someone who owes money will pay so that you can get your refund.
My bank had the TurboTax program on their website to use for free, so I didn't have to pay to do either of my forms.

Feel better vibes for DR ELMORE. You know the best people!
No kidding. That's wonderful!
And yes, with the FEEL BETTER VIBES! :)

DR JRand65, I'm only trying to keep up with you. You know the Whos Who of Indiana elite!

I cannot get my energy up to accomplish anything today!
Maybe a nap would help.

We watched THE MARTIAN last night.
It was well done; nicely acted, good special effects, but it was also slow and predictable.

It sounds like you caught something from the PT people. I hope with a day of rest you feel better.
-
I have an appointment with the dentist today. I do hope it is an easy fix.
-
I finally have MyChart locally and have the much of the test results from my new doctor I saw yesterday as well as the lab work she ordered.
That reminds me, I must find a primary physician now. I have a name to call, fingers crossed she is taking new patients.

Congrats to them!

Druxy, have you read the book? I read it before seeing the movie. It, of course, has much more detail and for me was much less predictable.

Doggie visit vibes for MR BK.
-
Doggie will be arriving while I'm at lunch. They'll leave her in the yard, then I'll meet her when I get back.
-
Darling Daughter thinks they're getting hear a couple of hours earlier than planned.
:) Have fun.
Oh, I see now you won't be home for extra time with your daughter.

Christmas Up The Holler has a title glitch: the agency interested in handling the show thinks, since they know not, that their audiences have no idea what a "holler" may be and will not be interested in performing it.
So, we're on a title search, and the director, producer and i are all fighting about title. Here are some of the ideas:
Appalachian Star: Christmas in the Foothills
Under an Appalachian Star: Christmas in The Foothills
Christmas Under The/An Appalachian Star
Memories of an Appalachian Christmas
A Patchwork Christmas: Holidays in The Holler
Patchwork Christmas: An Appalachian Yuletide
Miracle on Blackstrap Ridge: An Appalachian Christmas Story , which I do not like since there's no miracle.
-
My friend's handsome Bernese Mt. Dog won best in breed today at Westminster. A few years back his father won this. And we turned down a couple of puppies from the grandfather because Ontario is so far away.
-
I just proposed: Down Home for the Holidays: An Appalachian Memory.
-
I am very relieved that my test for celiac disease was negative.
-
Good news DR JANE!
I like your title DR ELMORE......but then...I know what a holler is......so I was fine with the original one.
Could you use Yonder instead of Holler? Maybe use the Appalachian double noun: Christmas Holiday Up Yonder...... Some of those other titles take the charm right out'en piece.
-
Sometimes though I git my Ozarks mixed up with my Appalachians ....
-

My dad used the word "yonder" late into his life. Our producer just proposed Down Home for the Holidays: Christmas Up the Holler.
-
I am very relieved that my test for celiac disease was negative.
Whew! That's great, Jane!
-
Gee, I'd sure hate to see "up the holler" go, but I like the idea of adding "Appalachian" -- which it seems to me would make it clear what it all is, AND keeps the flavor.

That's kind of funny. "Down Home..." and "Christmas Up..."
;D

That scenario certainly sounds familiar.
Hooray for Hollywood!

50 degrees today. I reopened the window.

Thanks. I didn't really think I did but it is nice to know.
-
Now I am waiting for the dentist.
-
The suggestion is closer DR ELMORE.....but it's a LOT words.....and down might be better than up.....but it has to feel right to YOU and your dad.

My dad at this point has little to do with it. I like Down Home for the Holidays and I coubt anyone would include "Christmas Up the Holler" as part of the title, any more than "Candide A Comic Operetta."
-
No check today, no X-ray referral, and I was sure both would show up in today's mail.
I'm still waiting for JoAnn to send me the 2016 Ohio property tax bill. It's due in nine days.
-
Had the quick lunch meeting - omelet and a bagel for me, then came right home. The Darling Daughter was still here and I met cute Sophie the Dog. She's in her little traveling thing (cage or whatever) now until the gardeners have come and gone. She sheds like crazy so I don't think the house will be an option for her, but as soon as the gardeners are gone (they're usually here by three), then I'll take her out and we'll go for a nice walk and then she can roam the yard to her heart's content. They'll be back around seven-thirty and we'll go sup, probably at the Thai place.
-
Here's what I learned at the healthcare reimbursement seminar today: I'm way ahead of the game and there are a lot of clueless retirees out there who are probably going to leave a lot of $$$ on the table.
-
And since I've returned home I've learned that, in the absence of hot tea with honey, decaf coffee topped off (generously) with Kahlua works just fine!
-
I am very relieved that my test for celiac disease was negative.
And I'm relieved for you!
-
Thanks Ginny.

It seems I have a little cavity that caused the crown to come loose. Since me entire right jaw is numb I askedfor it to be fixed now instead of putting the old corwn back on and returning another day. He will work on me between his other appointments.
-
DR Vixmom, how much did your recent crown cost? This will be over $1,000. I am in shock and miss our old dentist who was less expensive, at least I think she was. I haven't had a crown in awhile.
-
Crap! I missed MAJOR CRIMES last night.
-
Crap! I missed MAJOR CRIMES last night.
Too bad. It's part of a 2 part (or longer) story.
TNT often runs their shows multiple times. You might check the listings.
-
Crap! I missed MAJOR CRIMES last night.
I hope you can still watch it.
-
It seems it is a good thing the crown fell off. It was worse in there than first suspected and would have continued to damage my tooth.
Of course the cost also just went up.
-
TOD: My all-time favorite weepie film is "Imitation of Life" with Lana Turner, Sandra Dee, John Gavin, Juanita Moore and Susan Kohner.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Sophie and I took a long walk and now she's in the house briefly while the gardeners do their gardening thing.
-
Happy Tuesday, all!
-
I could go into detail how uncomfortable I am and add more posts, but then everone one knows how much fun the dentist chair is.
-
Will there be a photo of Sophie?
-
Yes, just took the photo and will have it in the notes along with a fun clip from Welcome to My World - I had the full video broken into clips.
-
Good evening. I hiked a long ways today, and I am tired. My eyes are an allergic mess, which is odd, since I usually don't have spring allergies too much.
-

:)
-
DR Laura carry allergy eye drops next time. It might help.
-
To bed. Inspector Lynley had a ghost in tonight's episode. That was fun.
Barber at Radio City tomorrow morning, then City Center.
-
Well, I'm off. I need to drop off the money till and my tablet at The Midnight Sun for TAO's movie night tonight.
-
Then I must rush off to Olympia Little Theatre for their bought performance of "Circle Mirror Transformation." We have no idea how many people will actually be there but hopefully it's a lot. :)
Until later.
-
Sophie isn't playful - she's melancholy and waiting for mom and dad.
-
Poor thing. They do get like that.
-
Can't believe it, Keith just broke a tooth.
-
Watching The Five Heartbeats. Fun period piece with some good music and a cliched script (a lot stolen from Dreamgirls). Then the great Harold Nicholas shows up and a nice little movie suddenly gets a spark that is pure magic.
-
Are you doing Spelling Bee?
Yes'm. Just playing the Keyboard 2 book, which I've done before.
I have never seen that. Actually I have never even heard any of the songs

I vote for Under an Appalachian Star: Christmas in The Foothills

Well, not "cure" so much ad makes it bearable

I like this as well

Congratulations on your refund, TCB

Good evening! I am now caught up.

John, don't stop posting!

I am feeling very ill tonight.

I am fading, TCB.

My movie has ended.

The last song has been sung.

And I have to work in just a few hours.

So, I'm gonna have to say good night.

Good night, all.

There, I've said/typed it.

Back from a fun meal with the Darling Daughter and hubby - they're now on their way back to Arizona.
And where did you go for dinner?
-
I thought I had a good meal at Red Lobster today, but tonight I am not so sure.
-
The two events may not be connected.
-
At least I didn't hang out with Jane and Keith today, so I didn't break a tooth.
-
Vixmom?
-
I picked up my SECOND SAMUEL t-shirt and sweatshirt today. Included in the package was a copy of the SS prequel signed by Pamela Parker to Mr. Mozel (my character). Very cool.
-
Sorry, Pamela Parker wrote SECOND SAMUEL.
-
Page five? Really?
-
I had a Thai salad and some cashew chicken for dinner, in case you were wondering.
-
It is a pretty cool gift.
-
Pamela wrote, "Thanks for being such a porch dick."

I had to look up that term.
An arrogant asshole sitting on a porch who makes a blunt comment.

So I guess I played myself.

Six!

At least I didn't hang out with Jane and Keith today, so I didn't break a tooth.

Less than mine but more than it would have been if the cavity hadn't been a diificult one to repair.

Tonight, we had a good audience and a good show.

It was a bought house for some estuary group and they actually enjoyed it.
-
Several of my theater friends also came to see the show tonight.

They're good audience members.

I thought I saw George here.
You were not mistaken. :)

I checked my e-mail and had to make some posts on FB for the Theater Artists Olympia's private board of directors page...not public postings.
