Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Sundayville, and now it is time for you to post until the Sundayville cows come home.

Good morning, all!  Last night's dreams were all over the place: a European trip somewhere, a house from hell in Los Angeles. They were all frustrating experiences in getting home.

So, my DVR is dead, and at 11:00 a Time Warner service man (possibly a woman) wll show up and exchange it.  Since i'm pretty much stuck in my neighborhood this morning, at 9:00AM, I think I will be at the Citibank branch where my check vanished and address the subject with the manager. I should be home by 10.

The DVR played for five minues and then died, same as its behavior yesterday.

There are many artists' works that I enjoy, but too name them would be futile. Many of them are Canadian artists that our family showed at the gallery during the past 40 years. We've collected them and they are in my mother's and sister's home.

Good morning, all.

Or maybe like DR Elmore, I should be saying good riddance to the night.

The dreams were classics, wild and wooly.  They started with me observing one house, then another, catching fire on an otherwise calm sunny morning in L.A. or perhaps Florida.  Next, me starting a car but the bad guys jumping in before I could get away so I had to pretend it was okay that they ride with me.  That merged with an old theme of Hollywood Boulevard morphing into Main Street in Columbus.  Later, I'm oversleeping and will be late getting to auditions (this one concerned some other stuff I don't now recall).

Oy!  I'm up and I'm staying that way.

Free Amazon shipping now requires a purchase of $49.  When it was $25, I used to buy things ALL the time.  A CD or a DVD wouldn't be enough, so I would always find something else I wanted for $5 or $10.....then it went to $35.....now $49.

I know the reason is to get me to join Amazon Prime.....but I don't want to do that....so now I shop the MarketPlace now and then.....but no longer buy new on Amazon.

Here's my secret:

Don't bother with it during the breakfast hours.  Wait till at least an hour after that period, which ends here at 11 a.m.  Once you're well out of that time frame, they have to make the egg fresh, and none of it has been sitting around waiting for a hapless rushed customer.

Delicious.

TOD

A lot of Impressionism, moderate amounts of Cubism, and probably other styles of the late 19th / early 20th centuries are those I most immediately respond to.  The earlier Hudson River School is a strong favorite, obviously influenced by my love of the geographical region.

Beyond that, I unashamedly love commercial art of the mid to late 20th century, especially as relates to movies, books, records, music, theater, etc.

As for having a feel for what any of it is worth ..... I'm ignorant, but am ever optimistic that anything I'd most want will be unaffordable.

I just had a scare.  My printer would not print. The paper ran through it but it came out a blank page, Of course there was no trouble shooting booklet with the printer so I was completely stymied.

I tried a color printing and that worked.  After that, things were fine again.  It beats me.

Ginny, your post reminds me of the song "World Take Me Back," cut from Hello, Dolly! that has the line, "World take me back, I wanna be part of the human race again."  I always liked that song.  And here is Ethel herself singing this song:

That's crap! >:( I also buy a lot of marketplace sellers' items.  My experience has been (for the most part) if they list it as "like new," it usually is like new.  The only time where that was not the case was a purchase that I made for work.  I bought a talking book on CD and the seller listed it as "like new," but it actually was a USED, FORMER LIBRARY COPY stamped everywhere WITH the library's barcodes and the case was literally falling apart!  WTF??  I sent it back, but was not able to get the shipping credited back when they COMPLETELY lied in the listing.  Damn them. :P

Nice!  And I always get it with extra cheese.  It's definitely worth it!

The problem with my local McD's is that when I've ordered it after midnight (don't judge me), they don't toast the English muffin, they just heat it up...which is not a good way to do it.

I have Amazon prime. I love it.  Pay the membership and get "free" 2 day shipping on everything for a year.  I think it's a deal

Had an ok day today.  I have tons of work and am trying to slowly get through it without freaking out.  After the two hearings tomorrow, I should have time to get the other major projects done.

I was asked to go back to band again today.  Actually it was "When are you coming back? We really want you to come back."   Things have changed and I may give it a go.  I told them I'd be back in the fall.

I feel like I have too much going on to commit to it right now.  They are changing directors and cracking down on all the people who weren't showing up for rehearsal (I was always there).  I don't seem to find time to practice my flute. Truthfully I have the time I'm just not using it to practice the flute, even for flute choir.  Maybe I should give it a go.  It's not like I'm working every Wednesday night.

Maybe I should go back.  I may practice more if I had both band and flute choir again.  I am happiest when I'm crazy busy and I'm just about crazy busy.  I keep saying I'm very tired every Wednesday night but I didn't used to be when I was playing.  Hmmmm.  This is too insane to even think about, but I just may go back. I'll have to let them know by tomorrow so they can get a folder ready.  Seriously, it's really nice to have gotten a personal invitation to go back.  I wasn't holding out for that...but .....

Ok, the next concert is for the Museum and I'm on the board.  I'm going to email that I'll go back.  I think this is the last concert of the year.  If it doesn't work I can not start up in the fall.

Frustrating evening.  The computer has been behaving horribly the last few days - "thinking" endlessly, the spinning beach ball anytime you tried to do anything at all.  So, I've been methodically nuking files that I don't need, hundreds upon hundreds of them, and I've probably transferred over 300 gigs of videos to the back-up drive.  Then everything froze and I couldn't do anything, so I contacted Apple and had them online with me because I couldn't even restart the computer.  Manually shut it off - then restarted, then it took a really long time to boot up and "think" about everything, and we were ready to do a reset of certain things, when suddenly it stopped "thinking" and returned to normal - it's been fine ever since and hopefully will stay fine.

Well, I just bit the bullet and sent an email asking that our music librarian put a folder together for me.  I think I'm crazy, but after sending it, I'm really glad I did.  I left because I was disgusted with the way the band was being run and the snippy flute section members.   They won't be snippy with the new director and the old band manager has returned and he doesn't put up with crap (unless he's making the joke).  So, maybe just maybe it will be as much fun as it used to be

Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE

First, it took forever for my computer to boot up this morning.
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:05:59 PM
Then on the all-blue Edge screen was a message that, "We have updated your computer."
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:06:40 PM
It stayed that way for about five minutes.
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:07:36 PM
The only change was it then said underneath the message, "Don't turn off your computer."
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:09:14 PM
Then that message disappeared and it said something about, "We have almost finished."
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:10:18 PM
Then it said something about, "Let's show you what we have changed."
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:11:16 PM
Each message stayed on the screen for a couple of minutes.

I have read about these hackers taking control of your computer, and I didn't like it saying WE.

Then the desk top opened but I couldn't get into the start up menu.
Title: Re: SUNDAYVILLE
Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:14:08 PM
I had no way to sign into the Internet because it no longer had the Microsoft Edge icon at the bottom of the screen.

Post by: TCB on February 22, 2016, 10:14:50 PM
I finally said a quick prayer and turned off the computer.

Castle was a witness to a murder, but got flustered by the suspect's lawyer while testifying, and just gave the defense reasonable doubt.
