Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Sundayville, and now it is time for you to post until the Sundayville cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BUMPTIOUS!
-
First post after BK!
-
Good morning, all! Last night's dreams were all over the place: a European trip somewhere, a house from hell in Los Angeles. They were all frustrating experiences in getting home.
-
So, my DVR is dead, and at 11:00 a Time Warner service man (possibly a woman) wll show up and exchange it. Since i'm pretty much stuck in my neighborhood this morning, at 9:00AM, I think I will be at the Citibank branch where my check vanished and address the subject with the manager. I should be home by 10.
-
DR vixmom, the CBS news at 11:00 tonight is addressing "dirty deeds" and fraudulent home ownerships. Promise me I will not see you in handcuffs!
-
I need coffee.
Now.
-
It's only 7:30, but it feels much later for some reason.
-
I've booked tomorrow's physical therapy and I have an hour to kill before I go to the bank.
The DVR played for five minues and then died, same as its behavior yesterday.
-
Good morning to all
-
Definitely a Monday--- :-\

There are many artists' works that I enjoy, but too name them would be futile. Many of them are Canadian artists that our family showed at the gallery during the past 40 years. We've collected them and they are in my mother's and sister's home.
-
Good morning, all.
Or maybe like DR Elmore, I should be saying good riddance to the night.
The dreams were classics, wild and wooly. They started with me observing one house, then another, catching fire on an otherwise calm sunny morning in L.A. or perhaps Florida. Next, me starting a car but the bad guys jumping in before I could get away so I had to pretend it was okay that they ride with me. That merged with an old theme of Hollywood Boulevard morphing into Main Street in Columbus. Later, I'm oversleeping and will be late getting to auditions (this one concerned some other stuff I don't now recall).
Oy! I'm up and I'm staying that way.
-
Very futile trip to the bank.
-
Monday morning greetings! After a spring-like weekend, it's cold and clear here in SW Ohio today. We're expecting some snow showers later in the week. No wonder everyone's sick...
-
Actually, I'm feeling a little better and have decided to rejoin the human race.
-
DVR vibes for DR ELMORE....but more importantly CHECK vibes for DR ELMORE.
Congrats to DR VIXMOM on her millstone.
-
Good news DR GINNY.....I am contemplating same.
-
I watched STRANGELAND a year or so ago.
:P

TOD:
Al Hirschfeld
I have 10 of his signed/numbered lithos hanging in my home.
-
I do not know from art, so I cannot help MR BK with his question.
I like Mondrian, the impressionists, and George Seurat.....Helen Frankenthaler.......and probably some more I will think of as the day goes on.
-
Ah....Hirschfeld....yes....thanks for reminding me DR DRUXY.
-
DR John thanks for the movie report. I am no longer pushing to see it.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy Monday vibes.
-
Last night DR TCB said....
"Fan mail from a flounder??"
Keith responds, "No! This is what I really call a message!!"

TOD:

Picasso

Free Amazon shipping now requires a purchase of $49. When it was $25, I used to buy things ALL the time. A CD or a DVD wouldn't be enough, so I would always find something else I wanted for $5 or $10.....then it went to $35.....now $49.
I know the reason is to get me to join Amazon Prime.....but I don't want to do that....so now I shop the MarketPlace now and then.....but no longer buy new on Amazon.
-
DR VIXMOM thanks the post......I figured that was it - but NOTHING any of them was doing seemed to follow that premise....they were running around like chickens in a barnyard.....
-
Check vibes for Elmore.

I found that out the hard way on Saturday. I read recently that amazon is losing money on the free shipping, so I'm not surprised. I, too, will curtail my purchases. Costco.com still has free shipping.

Back --
From the best Sausage & Egg McMuffin meal ever.
-
Here's my secret:
Don't bother with it during the breakfast hours. Wait till at least an hour after that period, which ends here at 11 a.m. Once you're well out of that time frame, they have to make the egg fresh, and none of it has been sitting around waiting for a hapless rushed customer.
Delicious.
-
I gotta say, we sure have been enjoying this mid-late March weather in mid-late February.
-
The cable man has left. He spent some time diddling with his diagnostic computer and DVR and my TV problems appear to be over. One crisis down.
-
Caught up with Downton Abbey. I will miss the one TV show that I still keep up with. It may have gotten flabby last year, but I've definitely looked forward to each new episode this season.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.

TOD
A lot of Impressionism, moderate amounts of Cubism, and probably other styles of the late 19th / early 20th centuries are those I most immediately respond to. The earlier Hudson River School is a strong favorite, obviously influenced by my love of the geographical region.
Beyond that, I unashamedly love commercial art of the mid to late 20th century, especially as relates to movies, books, records, music, theater, etc.
As for having a feel for what any of it is worth ..... I'm ignorant, but am ever optimistic that anything I'd most want will be unaffordable.
-
I was a man on a mission until three in the morning - I put a lot of big video files on a back-up drive and got them off the computer, then started going through my folder and nuking anything I wouldn't ever need again, and it was plenty. I only got through the K's, so more to delete today.

Enjoying an ice cold VERNORS.

Last night's "Downton Abbey":
Had THE best laugh I've had in a long, long while! (The identity of "Cassandra").
Lady Mary was definitely chameleonic last night. Am delighted Edith took her stand.
FWIW, I always hoped Mary would end up with Tom Branson.

I just had a scare. My printer would not print. The paper ran through it but it came out a blank page, Of course there was no trouble shooting booklet with the printer so I was completely stymied.
I tried a color printing and that worked. After that, things were fine again. It beats me.
-
Actually, I'm feeling a little better and have decided to rejoin the human race.
Ginny, your post reminds me of the song "World Take Me Back," cut from Hello, Dolly! that has the line, "World take me back, I wanna be part of the human race again." I always liked that song. And here is Ethel herself singing this song:

That's crap! >:( I also buy a lot of marketplace sellers' items. My experience has been (for the most part) if they list it as "like new," it usually is like new. The only time where that was not the case was a purchase that I made for work. I bought a talking book on CD and the seller listed it as "like new," but it actually was a USED, FORMER LIBRARY COPY stamped everywhere WITH the library's barcodes and the case was literally falling apart! WTF?? I sent it back, but was not able to get the shipping credited back when they COMPLETELY lied in the listing. Damn them. :P

Nice! And I always get it with extra cheese. It's definitely worth it!
The problem with my local McD's is that when I've ordered it after midnight (don't judge me), they don't toast the English muffin, they just heat it up...which is not a good way to do it.

I saw that $25 book thing DR JENNIFER - but it didn't make it any nicer for me.

I wonder if anyone ever took a short walk off a long Pier(rot's) nose.

I agree that the best time to order anything is on the off hours, between. breakfast lunch and dinner. The food is definately better!!!

MAJOR CRIMES tonight! I missed it last week.
-
I skipped through the Downton post fearing I read too much.

Last nights Downton Abbey was one of the best episodes ever. I became actually emotional over some scenes.
I am now hoping Thomas will turn his life around and finally be happy.

February 23 is, of course, tomorrow.
-
One for everybody!
-
February 23 is, of course, tomorrow.
So I've heard.
-
But let's not get carried away with rumors and innuendo here.
-
And on that note (F-natural), I'm leaving work and eventually going home. I don't have any theater tonight! I will have to get something to eat (I'm thinking a Subway sandwich), but then I'll go home for the night. :)
Be back later.

I do, too, even though his character has been a coward and worse in past seasons. I thought in this last season that he had been trying to turn things around. That said, I could tell that this is where the storyline seemed to be heading.
-
Where is everyone today?
-
I had a looooooooooooooong Monday at work.
-
And I had a not great night at dancing, but it got better as it went along.
-
I'm now watching The American Friend, a movie I've seen twice before. Somehow it never stays with me, even though Bruno Ganz is one of my favorite actors and Wim Wenders is a wonderful director.
-
And I like Patricia Highsmith, who wrote the novel.
-
Hello, 0 guests.
-
Guess you've wondered off, too.
-
I need to do some recipe research.
-
One is for an Irish-type stew. I'm thinking of finding one with seafood, instead of beef and Guinness.
-
The other is for a part in which gin and oysters on the half-shell will be served. I have to come up with an appetizer.
-
I'm too tired to celebrate it today, but it's National Margarita Day.
-
Maybe everybody else is off celebrating.
-
I'm still getting tax documents in the mail.
-
Today, proof of having medical insurance arrived.
-
Is that normal, Fred?
-
We're due for a thunderstorm tonight, but the low temperature isn't supposed to get below 60 degrees.
-
The low tomorrow is going to be in the 40s and the next night in the 30s, then it climbs back up again into the 80s.
-
Very strange weather.
-
I hope we don't have another freeze because everything's in bloom right already.
-
Only a few more posts to go.
-
And then we'll be on a new page.
-
Where is it?
-
There.

Next week looks like a behind the scenes show and then the Finale the next week. I will be sorry to see it end. I did by some Grantham Breakfast Blend Tea over the weekend. Just couldn't resist. It's a black tea with ginger

I don't usually buy DVD series, but I'm considering buying Downton. I will miss them all and it would be nice to watch the entire run again
-
I have Amazon prime. I love it. Pay the membership and get "free" 2 day shipping on everything for a year. I think it's a deal
-
Had an ok day today. I have tons of work and am trying to slowly get through it without freaking out. After the two hearings tomorrow, I should have time to get the other major projects done.
-
I was asked to go back to band again today. Actually it was "When are you coming back? We really want you to come back." Things have changed and I may give it a go. I told them I'd be back in the fall.
-
I feel like I have too much going on to commit to it right now. They are changing directors and cracking down on all the people who weren't showing up for rehearsal (I was always there). I don't seem to find time to practice my flute. Truthfully I have the time I'm just not using it to practice the flute, even for flute choir. Maybe I should give it a go. It's not like I'm working every Wednesday night.
-
Maybe I should go back. I may practice more if I had both band and flute choir again. I am happiest when I'm crazy busy and I'm just about crazy busy. I keep saying I'm very tired every Wednesday night but I didn't used to be when I was playing. Hmmmm. This is too insane to even think about, but I just may go back. I'll have to let them know by tomorrow so they can get a folder ready. Seriously, it's really nice to have gotten a personal invitation to go back. I wasn't holding out for that...but .....
-
Ok, the next concert is for the Museum and I'm on the board. I'm going to email that I'll go back. I think this is the last concert of the year. If it doesn't work I can not start up in the fall.
-
Frustrating evening. The computer has been behaving horribly the last few days - "thinking" endlessly, the spinning beach ball anytime you tried to do anything at all. So, I've been methodically nuking files that I don't need, hundreds upon hundreds of them, and I've probably transferred over 300 gigs of videos to the back-up drive. Then everything froze and I couldn't do anything, so I contacted Apple and had them online with me because I couldn't even restart the computer. Manually shut it off - then restarted, then it took a really long time to boot up and "think" about everything, and we were ready to do a reset of certain things, when suddenly it stopped "thinking" and returned to normal - it's been fine ever since and hopefully will stay fine.
-
Well, I just bit the bullet and sent an email asking that our music librarian put a folder together for me. I think I'm crazy, but after sending it, I'm really glad I did. I left because I was disgusted with the way the band was being run and the snippy flute section members. They won't be snippy with the new director and the old band manager has returned and he doesn't put up with crap (unless he's making the joke). So, maybe just maybe it will be as much fun as it used to be

Maybe I should catch up on all the posts before I start giving advice.
-
Good night, John.
-
I guess I drove Cilla away.
-
It was a pretty day here today.
-
I wish I had been up for enjoying it.
-
Well, what can I talk about that is happy?
-
I am not as sick tonight as I was this morning.
-
Only one more post.
-
Five!
-
I got a big scare on my computer this morning.
-
And I am not sure the problem is solved.
-
First, it took forever for my computer to boot up this morning.
-
Then on the all-blue Edge screen was a message that, "We have updated your computer."
-
It stayed that way for about five minutes.
-
The only change was it then said underneath the message, "Don't turn off your computer."
-
Then that message disappeared and it said something about, "We have almost finished."
-
Then it said something about, "Let's show you what we have changed."
-
Each message stayed on the screen for a couple of minutes.
-
I have read about these hackers taking control of your computer, and I didn't like it saying WE.
-
Then the desk top opened but I couldn't get into the start up menu.
-
I had no way to sign into the Internet because it no longer had the Microsoft Edge icon at the bottom of the screen.
-
I finally said a quick prayer and turned off the computer.
-
I waited about five minutes (okay maybe two) and then turned it back on.
-
Everything came back up just like it normally does.
-
The Edge icon was back, as well as all the other icons on the bottom of the screen.
-
I clicked on the Start menu, and everything came back like normal.
-
I couldn't find any changes in anything.
-
But everything was working just like normal.
-
I don't know. I have never had it do anything like that.
-
I definitely had another cup of coffee after all that.
-
The whole screwy thing took about a half hour.
-
It seemed like hours.
-
I talked on the phone with Sandy today.
-
I am not as sick tonight as I was this morning.
That is good.
-
It seemed like hours.
I bet.
-
I talked on the phone with Sandy today.
I hope his spirits are up and he is feeling ok.
-
We saw Deadpool today and found itfunny, different, and entertaining. It was a bit on the violent side.
-
He was relatively calm, all things considered.

Finished with my viewing. We'll announce the new title at midnight.

I have no idea what you mean!

George needs to be bitch-slapped from here to eternity and hell and back.
What??
-
The title you are announcing is EUBIE?
-
I'm watching and recording TV...so my attention is divided.
-
I'm watching the first of a two-part episode of "Castle" from a couple of weeks ago.
-
George needs to be bitch-slapped from here to eternity and hell and back.
What??
BK was responding to the post that I meant to modify, but deleted by mistake.
-
Castle was a witness to a murder, but got flustered by the suspect's lawyer while testifying, and just gave the defense reasonable doubt.
-
Someone's trying to Gaslight me.
-
Yes, Eubie!
-
We don't need no stinking divided attention.
-
George needs to be bitch-slapped from here to eternity and hell and back.
What??
BK was responding to the post that I meant to modify, but deleted by mistake.
What did you post then delete?
-
So I guess I need to be bitch-slapped.

Oh.
-
At least I can be secure in the knowledge that I'm not the only one who has done this. ::)
-
;)
-
I'm back!
-
I have switched over to my iPad.
-
I've been watching "Castle" on OnDemand and several times they've shown a Snickers commercial that uses CGI footage of Marilyn Monroe. Why?
-
Well, I guess I should sign-off for the night.
-
I've been watching "Castle" on OnDemand and several times they've shown a Snickers commercial that uses CGI footage of Marilyn Monroe. Why?
Why not?
