Well, you've read the notes, the notes were WTF (Weren't They Fun), and now it is time for you to post until the WTF cows come home (Will They Finally).
-
And the word of the day is: APATETIC!
-
Here's the Eubie blurb. Pay special attention to the Indiegogo instructions at the bottom.
-
Kritzerland is proud to present the CD premiere of an Original Broadway Cast Recording:
EUBIE!
Music by Eubie Blake
Lyrics by Noble Sissle, Andy Razaf, F.E. Miller, Jim Europe, and Micki Grant
In 1978 two African-American musicals opened on Broadway within months of each other – the first, Ain’t Misbehavin’, was a tribute to the songs of Fats Waller. The second, Eubie!, was a tribute to the songs of the great Eubie Blake.
Eubie! was conceived and directed by Julianne Boyd, with choreography by Billy Wilson and Henry LeTang. Boyd assembled a great cast, which included the Hines brothers, Gregory and Maurice, Alaina Reed, Lynnie Godfrey, Terry Burrell, and other terrific singers and dancers. The show was nominated for three Tony Awards – Gregory Hines for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical, Billy Wilson and Henry LeTang for Best Choreography, and, most interestingly, for Best Original Score (that probably couldn’t happen these days).
The musical arrangements by musical supervisor Danny Holgate are incredible and musical director Vicki Carter leads what can only be called a totally kick-ass band. But the star of the show, always front and center, is Eubie Blake and his songs. His amazing melodies are tuneful and infectious and they’re performed by a stellar cast with incredible voices energy. It all adds up to a toe-tapping delight from start to finish. And in a lovely bit of serendipity to the release of this wonderful cast album making its CD debut, a show about the making of Blake’s groundbreaking musical, Shuffle Along, is about to open.
Eubie! was mastered from the original master tapes from the Warner Bros./Rhino vaults and sounds incredible.
Eubie! is limited to 1000 copies only and is priced at $19.98, plus shipping.
CDs will ship by the second week of April, but we’ve actually been averaging three to five weeks early in terms of shipping ahead of the official ship date. To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.
ATTENTION INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTORS: FOR THIS RELEASE – IF YOU WANT TO OPT-OUT OF RECEIVING IT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING AT ALL. YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE OPTED OUT. IF YOU DO WISH TO RECEIVE IT, YOU WILL NEED TO SEND US AN E-MAIL OPTING IN – SEND TO kritzerland@gmail.com. IF YOU ARE NOT AN INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTOR, ORDER AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD. THANK YOU.

E-mail sent to opt-IN for the EUBIE! CD!

Happy Birthday DR Druxy!
-
I love the artwork to "Classical Hollywood III".
-
I may not have been the first post after Bruce today, however, I am the first one to wish DR Druxy a happy birthday.
-
Bruce you must have been looking at the wrong day on the calendar again :)
-
A Very Happy Birthday to Druxy!! :D
-
Good morning, all! I watched the first two parts of the MAJOR CRIMES season opener - still more to come - and went to bed.
-
I has one of those nights in which the knowledge that the alarm would ring at 6:00 kept me anticipating the alarm beginning around 4:30. I remember bits of several dreams. the first was back to the haunted house in which I grew up. My brother and my cousin Jeanne, who worked for a while in the late 1960s for my dad, were moving my dad's office out of the house. My cousin said something like, "when I hear footsteps coming down stairs, I'd like an actual staircase in the room." I was terrified about being in the house alone.
-
My last dream was about getting to physical therapy this morning, and it was an exercise in frustration: my metrocard was bent, the 72nd St subway was entirely renovated and different to navigate; I couldn't find my bag, I should have taen the bus.
-
So, around 8:00, I will head to therapy, then go down to City Center and help Joshie with 1776.
-
It looks like Citibank found my check. Big sigh of relief.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Can only recall the dream that was still going on through my entire waking up process. It was musical and a bit irritating and repetitive, but not inordinately so.
-
So, now it seems we are to get some annoying precip this afternoon and evening. The web sites are not in agreement on exactly what or how much.
-
Happy milestone birthday to DR Druxy!!!
-
I also remembered that I had a dream about directing some play set in Elizabethan England. that was before the metrocard-subway dream.
I am off to therapy.
-
Happy Birthday DR Druxy!
Thank you, Jane.
-
A Vefy Happy Birthday to Druxy!! :D
Thank you, George!

So, last night I had a most delicious comfort meal: Cincinnati chili!
And since there was a little left over this morning, I just treated myself to scrambled eggs with Skyline Chili, chopped red onion (Oxford comma), and shredded cheddar.
OH MY GOD. The chili with beans -- if not my preference for the spaghetti dish itself (I prefer using their plain chili and adding my own beans) -- is PERFECT for that.
-
PERFECT, I tell you.
-
Happy Birthday to one Mr. Druxy!
-
During my time in the military, I often heard "WTF" expressed loudly and succinctly.
In mixed company, of course, it was seldom iterated in its vulgar form. It most often came out as "WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, OVER!'
-
At any rate, I have WTF moments throughout the week.
They pass.

Tuesday morning greetings! Rough night for me last night. I'd felt so much better yesterday morning that I decided to cut back a little on the meds that made me so groggy. Bad decision, because by dinnertime I was coughing again. Went to a board meeting that didn't help and slept very fitfully. Spent 4am-8am in my recliner and called the pharmacy to refill both prescriptions. Richard's picking them up on his way home from a clergy luncheon.

Happiest of birthdays to DR Druxy!
-
Take care of yourself, DR Ginny!

Take care of yourself, DR Ginny!
Thanks, DR ChasSmith! I'm off to find some lunch and, maybe, a nap...
-
Thank you, ChasSmith. But please don't mention Cincy chili to hungry people.
-
I loved the American Friend. Images kept floating back like dreams. I may not have remembered the plot but scenes felt like old friends.
I went through part of my stack of DVDs to watch and discovered Ripley's Game with John Malkovich. It's based on the same novel. It will be interesting to see how they differ.
-
It looks like Citibank found my check. Big sigh of relief.
GREAT news, Larry!!
-
Now I want chili.
I think Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot is the name of Tina Fey's new movie.
-

GREAT news, Larry!!
How did I miss that post earlier?
Excellent!
I had a mishap with an ATM deposit years ago, and while it was resolved within a day or two, I never looked back. My deposits get handed to a real person now, no exceptions.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Was so wacky doing all the announcement stuff, forgot to check the calendar, so am adding Druxy's birthday to the notes right now.
-
Happy Birthday to one Mr. Druxy!
Thank you, Ron!

I am home from a very long day, and I forgot an important post this morning that I had intended to do just before I left.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Birthday to our DR Druxy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Thank God he's several time zones behind me!
-
Well, the check arrived today.
My left leg is killing me: Gurjeet, Dipka, and Morgan pummeled and pounded me and made me performer several stretching exercises that I am certain will be good for me in a few days. Gurjeet also suggested that I consult an osteopath, so I've asked my HMO doctor for a referral.
-
On my way out of City Center, Joshie showed me the new Encores! office, into which he and all of us officially move into on Friday. The move has begun, but the Big Day is Friday so I've been ordered to take Friday off and stay out of the way.
-
A Vefy Happy Birthday to Druxy!! :D
Thank you, George!

Back from a patty melt and a few onion rings. Jerry's was jammed at noon - I'm told yesterday there was not a soul in there at noon. I just don't get it. Then picked up some packages, did some banking, and am now home.

Thank God he's several time zones behind me!

Health vibes to all who are ailing.

Where is Mr Daw these days?
-
Last week I filed a complaint with the Post Office. We'd gone FIVE DAYS without mail. Someone called me back within a couple hours, was pleasant, and seemed to be trying to rectify the situation. We received mail that evening. My mailbox was stuffed to the brim. It happens rather regularly. I hope I don't have to keep complaining.
-
Where is Mr Daw these days?
Somewhere out there singing, no doubt.
-
One more for the road...
-
I have nothing else to report.
-
Hi, Ron. How are you feeling?
-
Perhaps he'll tell us later.
TTFN.

Happy Birthday, DR Druxy!

Happy Birthday to DR Druxy!
-
This could be tough.
-
I am not really felling up to rambling this evening.
-
I m feeling down in the dumps tonight.
-
I don't really know what I am depressed about.
-
I had a great lunch with my youngest cousin today.
-
She is also my favorite cousin.
-
We never can figure out why we don't see more of each other.
-
We live less than an hour away from each other.
-
But she has been a busy attorney in the Seattle area.
-
Today we met at The Cheesecake Factory up near the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
-
It is actually located near Southcenter, but I doubt anyone outside of Washington would know where that is located.
-
We had a great three and a half hour lunch.
-
The food was good and the waitress was fantastic!
-
And for the first time while eating at The Cheesecake Factory, I actually ordered a piece of cheesecake.
-
I had the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake. It was good.
-
My cousin went for the carrot cake. The piece was huge.
-
I don't really know what brought on the bad mood.
-
I guess I have been thinking about Sandy.
-
It really doesn't sound very good.
-
But all I can do is to be there as his friend.
-
We are going to brunch together on Sunday.
-
Tomorrow is the Old Actor's Lunch. We are going to Anthony's which is about a half mile from my home.
-
They do have one of the best clam chowders in the Tacoma area.
-
Trust me, I have tried almost all of the chowders around.
-
Feel better vibes to DR Ginny!
-
One post more!
-
SIX!
-
Hello, Jane!

That was going to be my response.
-
But all I can do is to be there as his friend.
That is a lot.
-
It is time to read until I fall asleep. Last night it took until 2:30. I'm aiming for 11:30 tonight.
-
'night
-
Sorry, I switched to my iPad.
-
I hope you fall asleep quickly, Jane.
-
And for the first time while eating at The Cheesecake Factory, I actually ordered a piece of cheesecake.
The first time :o
Yep, the first time.

I'm going to see "The Danish Girl" with a friend and his fiancée.
