From last night, I would like to clarify something that I wrote.  I originally wrote:

I've heard from our DR DanM.  He sent me this:
I've been down along with my financial situation. I'm okay but not great. I'm about to see a new oncologist soon. My usual oncologist was offered a job at the Mayo Clinic. Now I miss her too. I should get back on HHW, but sometimes I don't think I'm up to it. I know it sounds dumb. I'm glad to hear from you.

My reply was that HHW is a great support group and he should keep in better touch.  I d know how things can be when the depression is overwhelming and inertia is the best option.  I've been throufgh a couple since I came on board in 2004.

We watched TRUMBO last night.

The performances were terrific.  The movie, while certainly interesting, was really not as gripping as it should have been.

I am home from a lovely visit with a friend whose health has been horrible since last autumn, most of his past six months in Mount Sinai hospital, where he had a stroke that seriously impaired his walking, Bellevue hospital, and a recovery home.  He's been home for about a week, mostly bed bound, and it was really wonderful to see him and have a nice gossipy visit.

We thought we would fly a kite but there was no wind.  Beautifully clear though,  we walked along the shoreline and looked at the distant shore of Conneticut across the Long Island Sound.    Chas, did you see me wave?

Back for a moment.  Saw 13 again - I really do loathe everything about the show - it's so wrongheaded at every turn and I find the whole thing unfunny and off-putting, frankly.  It's two adults trying to be kid like and failing, because they always sound like adults trying to be kid like - it comes off as smarmy.  And the jokes?  Those aren't even written so they attempt to sound like a thirteen year old is saying them.  The kids were cute - not as good as Barry's first group last year and it needed some energy, but I always enjoy seeing the kids give it what they've got.

Well, it's time for me to get ready for TAO's last Saturday night performance of "On the Verge."  The show closes tomorrow, but I'm house managing again tonight.  From what I've heard, tonight should be one of the more fuller houses than what they've been having, so that's good.

HA!  At last the drop down menus on the theatre site have been updated, so I can work on those.

Of course the only ones people are interested in are for the Kids Workshops.....they've already started emailing and posting on the Facebook page:  When can we sign up.....what are the ages.....what's happening.....we need to know.....

Of course these are people who NEVER come to another show at the theatre, never donate a penny to us, make the worst mess when they come for their one night, don't follow directions for parking or anything.  And they are very obnoxious to the staff and directors.....IMPOSSIBLE.

And most of their special snowflakes can't even be heard from the stage - those that bother to learn their lines that is.

I HATE THE TIME AND EFFORT we have to put forward for these useless workshops.  Of course NONE of the kids ever audition for a show either....  And last year one of the little bastards stole my starter's pistol.
