Well, you've read the notes, the notes drove you crazy, and now it is time for you to post until the crazy cows come home.

I need to get up and get dressed for ushering for SILENT MOVIE SERIES: SHERLOCK HOLMES (http://www.washingtoncenter.org/upcoming-events/2016/2/28/silent-movie-series-sherlock-holmes.html) this afternoon.  But first, I need to print some programs for TAO's last performance of "On the Verge," and get some cream for the coffee that they sell in concessions.

After the silent movie, I'm going to The Midnight Sun and help with the "On the Verge" strike.  I don't think it'll take too long...at least I hope it won't.  THEN, I'll come home and watch The Oscars and post here on HHW.

Our Sunday shows are at 5:00 and I think there's a little thing I'm going to afterward so I don't know what time I'll be here for Oscars.

What o'clock do the festivities begin?

Good morning, all!  I slept rather well.  I do believe that lying or sitting with a heating pad under my left hip is doing some good.  I hope whatever is keeping the agony of lying at night at bay will continue.

Today I will proofread "Mama, Look Sharp" and then begin "Cool Considerate Men," which I may not finish since it's long.  I was working on "He Plays the Violin" Yesterday and suddenly none of the clarinet notes made any sense.  I kept thinking, what drugs was Eddie Sauter on?  After a series of messages to Joshie, he asked, is it the E-flat clarinet part?  E-flat, not B-flat?  Yep. I missed the switch.  All is now good, but I kept thinking, what's run away with my mind?

I had to purchase for this new Mac an external hard drive for CDs and DVDs.  I am noticing that several CD will not play in them.  The drive ejects them.  I am frustrated since i don't know if it's the age of the CD or the drive causing the problem.

"Mind?  I have no mind.  I'm the village idiot."

I LOVE the '1776' score, and this is silly, but one moment in it that always jarred me is the fluttertongue flute in "Cool Men".  I think that's because it sounded over-miked on the film soundtrack and that impression never left me.  Don't remember the sound on the original cast album but I'll be hunkering down with that and the score tomorrow and through the week.  I'm guessing those bars sound fine in their natural acoustic balance.

Today's fresh hell:  someone removed $200 from my Citibank account yesterday.  The theft occurred at an ATM on Park Avenue and 75th Street.  Since this is the second time in the past four months this has happened, I believe the source of obtaining credit card info is the Metrocard booths in the subway stops.  Most of the stops no longer have attendants and I believe the Metrocard booths are being rigged to steal information.

Color me really pissed at the moment.

This next release is quite major - two films on two CDs with so much additional music from previous releases and, of course, much better sound than ever before. Two-and-a-half hours of music.  We're thinking about making this an Elite title, which means only 500 or 750 units, but then again there is such huge crossover appeal maybe we'll just go to 1000.  But the packaging would the kind we did for Sandy's CDs - digipacks - what do you think?

I know that many celebrities use stylists, but I continue to feel that they miss the point. What's important isn't how the gown looks on the hanger, it's how it looks on the wearer--and, in this case, how well they photograph. The paler colors tend to look washed out. Bolder colors work better, in my opinion.

Kerry Washington seemed to be auditioning for a superhero movie. (Her legs more than the breastplate might get her the part.)

They actually made a donut right there before your eyes?  How long did you have to wait for it?

It took about 3 minutes.. They were making mini donuts.

Yup I think so. They've done  2 awards (Screen play and adapted) had two black skits and the song The Writing is on the Wall, and now we're watching clips from  the nominated movies.

Actually, they are doing Supporting actress now, so they just put screenplay first.  Strange

Funny that for, I don't know, ever since mics came into being and singers used them, they somehow got along fine without onstage monitors.  Now, not even those are good enough they have to have an earpiece.  And now that's not good enough so they need two earpieces.  And then you listen to their voices and blechhh.

It's disappointing, of course, as this night used to be the most fun all year.  But then the Oscars were on a Monday, they were in late March or early April and there was stuff to talk about all night long.  Plus we hadn't had all these inane defections to Facebook, which, by the way, has become a place for old people to relive their pasts and act like high schoolers and spout their political crap.  Young people have moved far away from it and who can blame them.

Why us there a door knob in the side of the piano?

Probably to make it easier to move.  You don't want to move a grand piano by pushing on the lid.  I've seen that happen and it can be a bad thing.

I agree DR VIXMOM.....we needed Joe this time around......he could be cleaning up!

That's terrible!

That song.  Such a button pusher.  This whole show is just too political now - and Joe Biden?  C'mon, already.  Wow, Hollywood discovered sexual abuse in the year 2016 and I guarantee you they'll have forgotten about it in the year 2017.

I don't love them, but I don't mind them when they don't have the super shiny finish.  That scratches much too easily.  Scratches seem to be less noticeable with the matte style of digipacks.

Did she say gender confirmation surgery?  Your gender is assigned by your DNA - it can't be changed.

Actually, your sex is assigned by DNA.  Gender is what you feel (or know) you are.  My issue with Julianne Moore using the term "gender confirmation surgery" when describing movie is that I think it's a very modern concept.  They didn't start using that term until very recently.

Well, I just looked.  Want to know how it used to be?  Here's how it used to be:  We had 845 posts PRIOR to the show starting.  69 pages before the evening was through.  That's how it used to be.  The pre-show posts were hilarious - they're still hilarious.  That was in 2007 - I'm not sure Facebook in its current incarnation existed yet, in fact I know it didn't because the first Hofstetter book was coming out and that was MySpace.  What a difference eight years makes.

I seem to have lost a pair of my glasses.

I misplaced my bi-focals last weekend and couldn't find them for a couple days.  It turns out that they fell under my computer desk.

Listening again to this incredible two-CD set.  This one is where Indiegogo folks will be VERY pleased they contributed because the list price for this will be at least 23.98 but more likely 29.98

I had some popcorn a few hours ago - not much food today and with the jog certainly under 1000 calories.  Have to hang tough.

What are the odds that a far-sighted thief broke in while I was in the bathroom?

Director John Guillerman was also left out of the dead people montage - guess The Towering Inferno wasn't a big enough hit.
