Well, you've read the notes, the notes were phantom notes, and now it is time for you to post until the Phantom cows come home - they're currently singing their big number, The MOOsic of the Night.
-
And the word of the day is: OBNUBILATE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK!
-
T.O.D.
ASK BK DAY
Bruce, can you tell whether or not I purchased the new book?
-
Hi, Tom. :)
-
Hi, Tom. :)
Hi, George.
-
Good night.
-
Good night.
-
Good morning! I could have slept in but I guess I'm still on German time.
-
It's going to be in the 70's today but the temps are going down to the low forties on Sunday.
-
Happy Birthday to the Darling Daughter!
-
I'm really enjoying reading about the Day Runners, BK! I see you've always been busy!
-
Happy Birthday to the Darling Daughter!
Same from us!
-
Good morning to all
-
ASK BK #1
Does your Day Runner tell you the name of the episodes that you guested on? If so you might want to update and/or correct your imdb profile.
-
ASK BK #2 (Not really a question)
For the Indiegogo perk I chose. I decided the music quote will be "Feed The Birds".
-
Good morning, all! My big trip today is to Staples. I have to photocopy some things for the local police precinct concerning this debit card theft last month.
-
I wish this moronic Daylight Savings Time would be abolished. I hate it.
-
Today I have several projects planned around the apartment that I would much rather avoid, but I think they need to be accomplished. The huge one is sorting and putting away the huge pile of books that has accumulated by my bed since September 2013. This could be grisly.
-
Good morning, all.
Last night I felt perfectly tired and went to bed at a pretty normal hour.
And laid there - awake - till four in the morning.
Can we say ... WTF?
-
Coffee!
-
Wonderful Day Runner notes.
I'm really amazed at one thing -- the fact that BK, of all the people in this crazy world, would have any doubt as to the theater of the first NUDIE sneak preview. :)
I'm also wondering if I was ever in the Alex. Sadly, I think not.
But I, too, have a few calendar entries from similar years in which I named a film I saw, without naming the theater. Insanity.
-
Good morning, all.
Happy birthday to BK's Darling Daughter.
-
So, what's in store for today?
I promised to see a friend's high school production of Beauty and the Beast this evening. Said friend is a good director and choreographer, so hopefully it won't be too painful. I shall give the CD a once-through with the score to refresh what I know about the music.
Then I'm going to see if I still have a working MIDI connection to my PC laptop -- which, mark my words, will someday be a Mac -- and take my first Finale lesson.
-
A very happy birthday to the DD!
-
PS, re the Finale --
Pray, as per usual, for Rosemary's Baby.
-
DR TCB, interesting concept of the return of Dobie Gillis. You forgot to include his older brother Davey. Even though he was only in a few episodes it would be nice to see the Hickman brothers together again.
-
I got a free FINALE during some promotion....but that was on my old computer. I think I saw the notice on BookFace....so now I don't have it anymore.....
-
Happy Birthday to Jennifer the DD of MR BK.
And Happy Birthday to he sister of DR JOHN G
-
Appt. vibes for DR JANE.

Page Two!
Random picture dance.

We at last got our $130 that we had overpaid to Social Security......it only took 2 1/2 months.
-
Most entertaining notes today!!!
Show planning vibes for MR BK.
-
Tied Up With Lawrence Welk
That is the title of my new memoir.
-
Happy birthday to BK's Darling Daughter.
Ditto!
-
Appt. vibes for DR JANE.
Thank you.

Well, thanks to the 2015 tax refunds, I am currently debt free. I've got new glasses, paid my union dues for 2016, installed Finale, paid a copyist for digitizing several versions of a choral score, paid off my debt for New World Records promotional CDs, and on Friday I will ship 3 or 4 more cartons of papers, scores, etc. to Miami University Library.
And I have money left!
-
On my slow walk back from Staples, Zabar's, and Fed Ex, a man walking his dog passed me, and the dog gave me a look that said "why are you moving so slow?"
-
We at last got our $130 that we had overpaid to Social Security......it only took 2 1/2 months.
One less thing to deal with :).
2 1/2 months doesn't seem too long for S.S.
-
My computer keeps alerting me that my keyboard is low on batteries. It doesn't run on batteries!
If it does, I have no idea where the fat hell they are.
-
Good news, Elmore. Now if one of Us would just win that lottery..,
-
Has anyone ever noticed that John Garfield sounds a lot like Gene Kelly? Or maybe it's my ear.
Watching something called We Were Strangers, a John Houston movie about Cuban revolutionaries.
-
Wednesday
morning afternoon greetings! Today is the first day since last Wednesday that one or both of us has not had to be someplace or be ready for something in the morning. We both slept a bit late and I watched a bit of the Supreme Court nomination chit chat while Richard went out for a walk.
-
Happy birthday to BK's DD!
-
Just got a note from the conductor of the upcoming high school MUSIC MAN. The kids are finding the orchestra parts really challenging.
Having recently suffered through too many YouTube videos myself, I feel hear his pain. I hope they can rise to the occasion. The last thing this show needs is another shitty performance of smears and splats. Think, men. Think.
-
My computer keeps alerting me that my keyboard is low on batteries. It doesn't run on batteries!
If it does, I have no idea where the fat hell they are.
Wayne Blood. Joshie, and Peter Foley have come to my rescue. It has to do with the new keyboard that came with this new iMac and the fact that I'm using my old keyboard.

Don't blow it all on bubble gum!

Happy Remembrance Day for BK on the birth date of his Darling Daughter!
-
A Very Happy Birthday to BK's Very Own Darling Daughter!! :D
-
I'm up, I'm up - slept for only about ninety minutes or so, then was up until about six. So I guess I got five or six hours overall.
-
I wish this moronic Daylight Savings Time would be abolished. I hate it.
What I think is weird is that Daylight Saving Time is about 8 months of the year, and "real" time is only about 4 months. What's that all about??

It is supposed to extend our energy savings.
-
DR ELMORE that is good news - money wise.
I am using a wireless keyboard and mouse with my new computer instead of the USB ones that came with it. I can always use the extra USB port for something else.

Change of plans. They really need me at THE MUSIC MAN rehearsal tomorrow...enough that I'm going to accommodate them. So, instead of cooking our St. Pat's corned beef feast through the day, I'm cooking the beef today. Now. The house smells of it as we speak. (Yum.) I'll refrigerate it overnight, and do the trimming and slicing tomorrow morning. I'll then cut up the potatoes, carrots, and the Oxford Comma cabbage, so those will be ready to cook. Then I'll go off and do the rehearsal and get back around 6 p.m., whereupon the veggies can cook and the corned beef be re-warmed.
Been listening and following BEAUTY AND THE BEEF BEAST all along, and I do believe I'd forgotten more about it than I knew. (hmmm...)
Anyway, FINALE will have to wait, I'm afraid. Boo hoo. I'm committing to a good long session with it on Friday.
And that's the end of my little story.
-
I knew you were all waiting with bated breath for the end of that. Hope it wasn't a letdown. We aim to please.
-
Page 3?

Is anybody going to tape the Passion musical on FOX Sunday?

Trouble in River City for DR CHAS SMITH.

This is the trailer for THE LAST MONSTERS, my new play featuring Lon Chaney, Jr., Bela Lugosi and John Carradine.

I wasn't planning on it...unless someone wanted a DVD copy.
-
Just got a note from the conductor of the upcoming high school MUSIC MAN. The kids are finding the orchestra parts really challenging.
It's really very simple. They just have to use the THINK system.

DELIGHTFUL BIRTHDAY WISHES to the DD of bk and the DS of DR John G.

LOL!

Back from an omelet and a bagel. This is the first day where I feel like I've actually lost some weight - finally.
-
I picked up the new paperback and it looks terrific, so I placed the book order and it will go to the printer today but the hardcover will be here in the morning and once I get it and say AOK, which I'm sure I will, then they print. If all goes according to Hoyle I'll have them next Friday.

My good news is I can still walk, meaning go for as long a walk as I want to. The bad news is, unless I have surgery I probably have a chronic problem now. I would need an MRI to confirm, however it appears I have a torn meniscus.
For now I need to ice my knee, for the swelling, and avoid walking downhill. Walking uphill on the treadmill and using the recumbent bike, both of which I can use in our workout room at the clubhouse, should be good for me.
-
The doctor was nice. I told him that Keith was booked twice for surgery to repair his torn meniscus and both times cancelled. The doctor said he also cancelled his own surgery twice. ;D
-
The doctor doesn't have a problem with having the surgery, it is the recovery time he doesn't have. He needs to work and has three young children.
-
LOL Sounds like a pattern DR JANE.
-
I like DR SINGDAW's headline.
-
LOL Sounds like a pattern DR JANE.
Yup. I hope I do not get worse and can pass on the surgery.
-
I forgot, he suggested I swim but the pool won't open for a few months and I really do not want to go to an indoor pool.

I'll take a copy if you tape it. Thank you.

Page three? Really?
-
Helper is shipping all the Indiegogo stuff we can.
-
Been working on the LA show all day again. I've already flipped a bunch of act two things around because it didn't seem quite right - that will probably be happening until we go into tech.
-

Yuck. That's akin to what my dance instructor had.
-
Starting to watch The Solid Gold Cadillac. Fun look at overpaid CEOs. Should be revived one of these days.
-
Singdaw, good to see you back for a moment.
-
Did some weeding today. Long overdue.
-
Temperatures are still in the 80s. The peach tree has the tiniest buds. The fig is already showing signs of fruit. Summer is here.

Did your instructor have surgery to repair it?
Prior to Keith scheduling surgery he could barely walk. With weight loss and exercise he finds it tolerable and flare-ups don't last long.

Nice.

I'm thinking of making jelly out of the mint this year. What kind, though? Daiquiri? Mojito? Julep? Ginger-Mint?
-
I was pleased to learn the x-rays of my knees (both were done to compare them) did not show any signs of arthritis in my right knee and just a little bit in my left. Considering the knee problems I had before this injury this was very good news.

No. He's not old enough. He had a shot that was supposed to fill in the gap where the tear was. It hasn't worked entirely. I don't know what he's going to do.

Gratuitous post No. 100!

The best news I gave heard all day!!
-
I'm off now. I'm going to the movies at the Olympia Film Society with my friend David. I forget what we're going to see. I have to stop at my sister's first, but she lives just a couple of miles from the theater, so that's not a problem.
Until later.

BK
In case you missed them from this morning I will ask them again
ASK BK #1
Does your Day Runner tell you the name of the episodes that you guested on? If so you might want to update and/or correct your imdb profile.
ASK BK #2 (Not really a question as I wasn't sure where to put this)
For the Indiegogo perk I chose. I decided the music quote will be "Feed The Birds".
-
I have a freelance article I don't want to write. And it's not writing itself.
-
I got about halfway through and I'm giving up.
-
I'll finish it tomorrow.
-
Tomorrow night, I'm ushering the Robert Plant concert.
-
I'll need my earplugs.
-
Then Friday and Saturday, it's SXSW fun. Got an invite today to Rachael Ray's house party, which I thought I would not get this year. Also going to her party at Stubb's BBQ, where George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic are playing.
I saw them open for Prince once. Fun group.
-
I'm also supposedly going to a party at Willie Nelson's place. He is having three stages with music on each simultaneously, so it must be a rather large place. Tens of thousands supposedly go. It lasts most of the day and night Friday.
If I get to hear Willie, I hope he does stuff from his latest album, which is all Gershwin.

Hello, 3 guests.
-
Where did everybody else go?
-
I need to get to bed.
-
But first, let's move this along.
-
It's not too difficult.

One more ...

fIVE!
-
And good night, all.

No, the Day Runner entries are cursory - just "int for comm" int at Universal - that kind of thing. I do name the shows I'm shooting, but I never name the commercials.
-
Good evening!
-
Hello to BK and to John!
-
Hello, 0 Guests!
-
I heard from Sandy today.
-
He is very tired from the chemo, but so far no nausea.
-
BK, did you see my question this morning?
-
The Old Actors went to a new restaurant today.
-
It is called the Wild Fin.
-
It is in the new waterfront development called Point Ruston.
-
It is next to where they are building a second Silver Cloud Hotel.
-
The other Silver Cloud (where Jane and Keith stayed) is about three miles away, at the other end of the waterfront.
-
No one knows why we need two identical hotels in a three mile area.
-
Tacoma is not really a big tourist destination.
-
Anyway, the restaurant was very nice and the food was good.
-
I had the fish and chips, which I probably wouldn't order again.
-
The fish was good, but I only got two small pieces of fish for $16.00
-
The coleslaw was very tasty. It was made with apple along with the cabbage.
-
The rest of the group seemed to enjoy their lunches.
-
The place was packed. It must be the café du jour in town.
-
It was a pretty day, but it was a little bit chilly.
-
Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up to 60.
-
Spring is almost here.
-
Hello, 1 Guest!
-
And tomorrow is St. Patty's Day
-
Well, we are getting closer.
-
Just a couple more posts.
-
One more to be exact.
-
Six!!
-
And Sunday is Palm Sunday.
-
For some reason, I am really jumpy tonight.
-
Every time I hear a sound, I feel like we are having an earthquake.
-
Brrr, it is supposed to be down to 30 degrees tonight.
-
That is what we get for having clear skies during the day.
-
Lonely, I'm Mr. Lonely.
-
Has anyone here ever heard of a play version of THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE?
-
I just can't imagine it.
-
It was written by Jethro Compton in 2014 and is based on the short story, rather than the movie.
-
Sure, all you need is a John Wayne type, a James Stewart type, and a Lee Marvin type.
-
And that is just for starters!
-

;D. That I understand.
-
Sorry to hear about your medical troubles, DR Jane.
Thanks. There is always something. I just try not to mention them too often, except my not sleeping.
This orthopedic office I went too today is extremely large. I was tempted to stay all afternoon going from one specialist to the next ;D
-
DR John, enjoy your parties.
-
He is very tired from the chemo, but so far no nausea.
That is fantastic. Vibes he can say that each time.
-
No one knows why we need two identical hotels in a three mile area.
Maybe because the new one is far away from the train whistles blowing all night ;)
-
Tomorrow it is supposed to warm up to 60.
Same here. I think I will walk outside and save the gym for when the rain returns. I will go inside to use the bike for a few minutes.
-
'night
-
No one knows why we need two identical hotels in a three mile area.
Maybe because the new one is far away from the train whistles blowing all night ;)
I just found out today, that you are supposed to ask for a room in the back, over the water. In those rooms you can't hear the trains.
-
Sorry, I didn't know that before today.
-
And the new hotel is the same distance from the tracks, but there isn't a railroad crossing nearby, so it would probably be quieter.
-
We have 5 Guests. Welcome!
-
Congratulation to DR Elmore on his tax returns.
-
Elmore, what did you have to eat at Artie's?
-
Nicky must be dreaming he is being chased. His little legs are running like crazy.
-
CRANBERRIES!
-
My brain has gone blank. Or perhaps, blanker.
-
But we can get off this page.
-
My guest and I can get off this page.
-
SEVEN!

Good night to one and all!

Doesn't look like it.

I just found out today, that you are supposed to ask for a room in the back, over the water. In those rooms you can't hear the trains.
I asked for a quiet room and was told they all were. My friends had a room in the back and were fine.
-
And the new hotel is the same distance from the tracks, but there isn't a railroad crossing nearby, so it would probably be quieter.
That should make a big difference.

Awww.
