Well, you've read the notes, the notes were red hot, and now it is time for you to post until the red hot cows come home.

And the word of the day is: AFFINAL!

ASK BK DAY,
BK, is THE GOOD ONE available for production? Is the script wth a publishing company?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Am I first this morning? At almost 8:30?
-
Tonight is movie night at my friend's place with the projection system. Not sure what we're watching. Might be The Hateful Eight.
-
This morning I think I'll tackle a little more Finale.
Before it tackles me.

Good morning, all!
This has been a lousy 24 hours of real stomach problems. At 7:15 this morning, I called therapy and cancelled, and I feel quite puny at the moment.
-
I have a ticket for the BRIGHT STAR matinee and I'm going. I hope I'm feeling better in four hours.
-
DR Jeanne has a new Macbook! That's good news.
-
BK, if you have a scanner, would you please scan one of the Day Runners? I am really curious to see what one looks like.
-
DR ChasSmith, I've always operated on the theory that the trill is determined by its position in the chord, unless the composer/arranger specifies differently. So, if the key is C-major and the trill is on E, its upper note is F-natural unless determined otherwise; similarly in the same key, a trill on G would be a full step to A, unless indicated otherwise. So, in the example you posted, the trill on A-flat would trill to B-flat since it's in the chord of A-flat minor..
I don't think the world is prepared for my theory book!
-
Before I leave today, I need to tidy up and pitch a lot of magazines and mail.
Coffee first.
-
good mornign to all
-
"So, whatever happened to Bonnie, Jill, Simone, Emily, Lynn, and Faye? Where the HELL are they?"
There is a song in that.

Fathers and Sons. 4 episodes with Merlin Olsen

The world awaits the theory book AND the memoirs, DR Elmore!
And thank you -- my instinct was right on that one. I shall march into the next rehearsal with my head held arrogantly high.
-
About the trill, what DR ELMORE said. Or this.

Some highly computer-literate friends of mine were discussing passwords, and it seems one recent theory is that a string of words is the most impossible thing to hack.
So who's going to be the first to change their password to BonnieJillSimoneEmilyLynnFaye ?
-
So many girls.....or is that TOO MANY GIRLS.
Traveling around the country talking about computers.....commercials.....meetings. I am tired just reading about the DayRunners.....but most intrigued and entertained.
-
That's excellent, DR Jrand65!
Where can one find these things? I'd love to stockpile a few.
-
Congrats to DR JEANNE on her new computer!!!
-
Just do a Google image search for 'funny music notations' and you can find LOTS of them.
-
The only thing I could find about Hollywood Air Force Base is that they were a production company and the only movie they ever did was Weekend Warriors and BERT CONVEY! directed it. It starred Chris Lemmon, Lloyd Bridges, Graham Jarvis, Vic Tayback and a few other names I recognize. In 1961, with war looming in Berlin, an Air National Guard unit of actors, journalists and studio personnel is up for military academy consideration.
-
DR ELMORE I liked that Bright Star song a lot! At first I had trouble understanding what she was singing....but that might be my computer speakers.
-
Chris Lemmon....my, my. Whatever happened to him?
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I have nothing on my calendar today...

Ditto :)

Happy Wednesday, Tutti!

Ask BK:
Christopher Norris -- ever know her, date her, work with her?
Moosie Drier -- ever know him or work with him?
-
Chris Lemmon....my, my. Whatever happened to him?
Exactly.
-
Happy hump day, y'all.
-
It feels like Thursday to me.
-
It took 80 minutes this morning to drive 17 miles. That's nuts.
Thankfully, I have started an OK book on CD, Humbert Eco's The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana. Eco always had trouble creating characters of any depth, so he does the opposite here. He has created a person with a type of amnesia that leaves him a memory of all that he has read and watched, but no memory of who he is.
-
I saw Chris Lemmon on an episode of CHiPS on Monday. It was one of the early season five episodes when Erik Estrada was on strike....so he is just in a few inserted scenes at the station here and there.
Instead we have officer Steve McLeish played by:

-
Officer John must be giving Officer Steve the side eye because he is not wearing his name tag.
Or maybe he looked in Steve's locker and found a nice handbag.
-
LOL...sorta.
-
Happy hump day, y'all.

Lawse, yes. M-o-o-n, that spells "feels like Thursday to me."

ASK BK DAY,
BK, is THE GOOD ONE available for production? Is the script wth a publishing company?
I have it somewhere - it's a really funny play but very much of its time - it would either have to be set there or updated. I have a DVD of it somewhere.
-
BK, if you have a scanner, would you please scan one of the Day Runners? I am really curious to see what one looks like.
I'll try to do that later

Well, I'd worked with Bert on Racquet and we liked each other, so that may be the connection.
-
Oh, and I'm up - barely - almost eight hours of sleep.

That's pretty cool. I always remember him from "Duet" and "Open House."

Back from a Chinese Chicken Salad and a bagel, and picking up a package.

I always love a salad made from Chinese chickens.

elmore asked to see a sample of the Day Runners - here are two, one from 1972 and one from 1975.

That bottom entry on March 9 is "sign papers for house" - the lease option for what would end up being my first home purchase.

Rest in Peace, Ken Howard (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/ken-howard-dead-white-shadow-851531). Dead at age 71.

There seem to be a LOT of people dying in the first three months of this year.

I recognize that handwriting! Thanks, BK.

And I am home from the matinee of Bright Star, which was frozen after I last saw it. I think it's an absolutely beautiful show and I love the score. An elderly couple next to me in the balcony, who appear to see everything and loved Something Wicked, kept saying at intermission, the TIMES will hate it; this won't run. I think they're wrong.
-
!!! 3 !!!
-
I ran into Norman Weiss, who conducted the COLETTE COLLAGE recording, on the subway. He was seeing the same matinee. The Bright Star producers had invited the casts of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. Norman's been playing keyboard in Phantom for 20+ years now!

I was wondering if that's what they looked like. I used to have a monthly pocket calendar and I've seen things like this, but I never needed the hourly detail.

Rest in Peace, Joe Garagiola (http://www.12news.com/news/local/valley/joe-garagiola-sr-voice-of-nbcs-game-of-the-week-dies-at-90/98636236)!

Asked about Ken Howard and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Patricia Routledge told Leonard Bernstein's assistant Charlie Harmon, That man was never sober!

It sure does.

Full moon tonight.
-
very interesting to see the DayRunners in actuality! Very convenient.
-
Did a first pass show order that seems pretty good to me - we'll see how I feel a bit later - if I like it then I'll start the commentary.

Well, this is interesting...James Lapine Premiere and New Musicals Set for Signature Season (http://www.playbill.com/article/james-lapine-premiere-and-new-musicals-set-for-signature-season):
As previously announced, Signature will partner with Disney Theatricals in October for the world premiere of Freaky Friday, based on the celebrated Mary Rodgers novel and popular Disney films. The new musical is by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the Pulitzer Prize-winning team behind Next to Normal and If/Then, with a book by Bridget Carpenter. Two-time Tony nominee Christopher Ashley will direct the production with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Performances are scheduled to run October 4-November 20.
I would assume that they're not going to use Mary Rodgers' own song, "At The Same Time," which was recorded (for the first time ever?) by BK.
-
But then in the very next paragraph:
In November, [Eric] Schaeffer will helm the world premiere of Silver Bells, a new musical billed as a “raucous send up of small town Christmas pageantry” starring Donna Migliaccio, Nova Y. Payton, Naomi Jacobson, Sandy Bainum and Ilona Dulaski.
:D
-
Has anyone read "The Secret Chord"?
-
Looking forward to both shows at the Signature Theatre. Of course it'll be a long wait.

I love that song! And the singers are perfect!
-
We're having thundersnow!
-
Thanks for the comments yesterday about the organizations I'm involved with. I've always volunteered for that sort of thing. I really like it.
-
Has anyone read "The Secret Chord"?
DR Jane, having loved PEOPLE OF THE BOOK, a couple of my book club friends and I started THE SECRET CHORD and none of us could get into it.
-
We're having thundersnow!
Oh, that's not good...

I am soooo relieved to hear this. I think the writing is beautiful but I am rather bored. After I posted my question I decided to begin another library book and return to Chord later. Maybe I won't return to it ;D
-
I've read almost half of the book. It seems a shame to stop now.
-
We're having thundersnow!
Oh, that's not good...
It's gone from very warm to a blizzard, It rained all day and I don't think anyone really thought it would snow. It's snowing all right
-
I'm reading The Long Way Home (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #10) by Louise Penny and am much happier.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Yikes! I almost forgot that I need to leave work and get to the theater. I'm running sound for a show. I'll have my tablet with me, so maybe I'll have a moment or two to post. Otherwise...
Be back later!
-
Yikes, I hope you make it on time.
-
Seriously page 3
-
Ok......push
-
A little harder
-
Whew! page 4
-
Seriously? Page 4?
-
I'm all alone......
-
Where is everyone, you'd think it was Wednesday with a full moon and thundersnow or something
-
Thundersnow does not sound like fun.
-
Yikes, I hope you make it on time.
Thanks, Jane...I did make it. :)
-
Elmore, finally watching Hardy's Under the Greenwood Tree. I don't remember much of the novel, but the production is good and the acting very good.
-
One of the actors arrived just as I was parking my car.
-
We didn't actually start the run until 8pm, so I got here and just waited.
-
It's now getting close to the middle of the first act.
-
Good swing class tonight. Legs muscles very sore.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Finished with my viewing and I think I'll do a Gelson's run and then maybe start the commentary. I had the Chinese chicken salad and bagel earlier, so I can't eat too much. I also cannot do the salad bar thing for a few days.
-
How's the play, George?
-
How's the play, George?
Very good.
-
Worked from 8 until 7:20 then ran to church to se The Passion (live) which one of the members recorded on Sunday then they edited out all the commercials
-
It's really interesting when the artist talks about painting. I can almost feel what he feels about his passion because his dialogue is so descriptive.
-
I got there a few minutes after it had started and found my mom was there already.
-
And she mentioned that a old friend of my dad's called he is in town tomorrow (lives out of state) and asked to take my mom to dinner She told him she was going to go to the "dinner church" for Maudy Thursday and asked him to join there for a soup and salad and Bible study
-
I have no idea who this woman is but I like her
-
During my 20's I kept daily planners that I kept tabs of every day.... I tossed them when Vixdad and I moved in together after we were engaged
-
I wonder what I would remember if I had those to jog my memry
-
I wonder
-
If I
-
Can get

If

I

Keep going

Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive

Well I found page five

But. Have no idea what to do with it

Somebody come and play

Somebody come and play today

Hi, Vixmom!
-
Yay! Hello George
-
Hi, Vixmom. Hi, George.
-
DR ChasSmith, I've always operated on the theory that the trill is determined by its position in the chord, unless the composer/arranger specifies differently.
What language is he speaking?
-
I was underwhelmed by the passion

I don't know but Chas seems to be fluent
-
I think the reason I forgot Under the Greenwood Tree is that it's sort of like a lesser Far from the Madding Crowd. Or maybe just shorter.
-
I was underwhelmed by the passion
So we're most of the reviews I read.
-
I hope you had a better day at work, Vixmom.
-
Hi, Vixmom. Hi, George.
Hi, John!
-
I was underwhelmed by the passion
It was more of a showcase for some woman to sing a bunch of popular songs (supposedly as Mary, mother of Jesus) than an actual telling of the Passion...it was all done in modern dress and all the songs were popular songs ...
-
And they keep cutting away from the story to follow a bunch of people carrying a huge illuminated cross through the streets of New Orleans
-
They managed to leave the crucifixion and resurrection out of the passion story line ... The narrator mentioned it them in passing... Perhaps a little less cross parades and interviews with random people, and they could have kept the "passion". In the Passion story
-
"I would have made you sing."
Heartbreaking line from a jilted suitor.
-
I hope you had a better day at work, Vixmom.
Thanks. It was a little better... By about 5 hours
-
Worked from 8 until 7:20 then ran to church to se The Passion (live) which one of the members recorded on Sunday then they edited out all the commercials
John, the DVD that I made for you will finally be put in the mail tomorrow. :)
-
I also cut out the commercials.
-
Good evening!
-
Hello TCB and 0 Guests!
-
Yikes, I hope you make it on time.
Thanks, Jane...I did make it. :)
:)
-
I have no idea who this woman is but I like her
;D
-
I was underwhelmed by the passion
That would be a good way of explaining my impression of the program.
-
I think that having the Garden of Gethsemane under a freeway bridge was one of the stranger scenes. Or perhaps it was the police in riot gear arresting Jesus.
-
One more post.
-
Six!
-
Sandy remains in the hospital, but hopes to be released tomorrow.
-
Sandy is in my prayers
-
I still haven't had a conversation with him. He texted me today when I was at the old actors lunch.
-
I texted him back as soon as I saw his text, but he never responded to my text.
-
Sandy is in my prayers
Thank you vixmom.
-
And you are in my prayers that you will find a different job.
-
I should have signed in on my IPad, because now I need to switch.
-
Back in five.
-
Well, we're done for tonight. The actors are getting notes and they're pretty much done with me.
-
So, I'll be back when I get home.
-
And I'm back.
-
I can't believe how quickly March is flying by.
-
I really need life to slow down a little.
-
Tomorrow is Maudy Thursday.
-
On Sunday, my sister, my brother-in-law, and I are going up to my cousin's house for Easter dinner.
-
Assuming I don't get us lost driving up there.
-
Which is why I was hoping for a sunny day!
-
GPS would be no help finding my cousin' place.
-
And I'm back.
As am I. :)
-
Tomorrow is Maudy Thursday.
I have no idea what this is. :-\
-
Tomorrow is Maudy Thursday.
I have no idea what this is. :-\
It is the day when Jesus celebrated the Last Supper before he was arrested.
