Well, you've read the notes, the notes suffered no fools, and now it is time for you to post until the foolish cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NINNYHAMMER!
-
An hour early??
-
I lost a long post I had written!
-
And there are no new notes!!
-
What is going on here?
-
Well, good night
-
BK must've set yesterday's posts to automatically close...or not. It's only an hour.
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Luckily, very very few tax-office April Fool jokes yesterday! And the ones that were indeed convincing were quite graciously followed with a prompt "April Fool" declaration within seconds after it looked like that prank was about to be believed by somebody.
-
Good morning, all! I feel very dull today.
-
I was suddenly hit with an allergy attack last night non stop sneezing itchy watery eyes....Vixda gave me an allergy pill and within minutes I was dead asleep on the recliner but I woke at 8 and so far the eyes and the nose are under control so I guess whatever he gave me worked
-
I hope you perk right up to see the show today, Elmore! Are you going to the matinee or the evening performance?
-
and where is Chas? I wanted to hear what he thought of the show.... I must admit I was a bit disappointed to hear that it was modern dress - I like period pieces to be done in period dress...
-
I guess I am a traditionalist.... I don't really enjoy modern art either ,
-

Matinee. I'll sit backstage, watch the show on the monitor and stay for the talkback. I hope my leg lasts the whole shebang.
-
I guess I am a traditionalist.... I don't really enjoy modern art either ,
Technically, Encores! productions were meant to be concerts, and all of the early productions were done in evening wear with the actors holding scripts. Gradually, more and more costumes slipped in and there was less reliance on the script in hand. I think the whole point of avoiding period clothing in this is to point up how many issues from the situations in 1776 remain relevant to today.

DR VIXMOM pick me up a program from the floor for my August display case!
-
There are many times in my life when I could have used a ninnyhammer.
-
Getting ready for auditions tomorrow. Not sure how many people we will have....or how many of those who show up we can actually use.
One more session on Monday night. So here we go onto the 2016 season.

TOD:
DIE HARD & DIE HARD II
THE SIXTH SENSE
-
I've been asked to host a monthly afternoon screening of a classic film at a branch of the Austin Public Library, beginning in late May.
We're going to start with THE MALTESE FALCON.
-
Good Morning All:
TOD;
THE SIXTH SENSE
I also liked MOONLIGHTING (THE TV SHOW)
-
Good morning, all.
Got to sleep in some this morning. Didn't even know I was doing it, so I must have needed it.
Very happy today is free. Tomorrow, one last set of auditions to play, then I think that's it for a few months.
-
Vixmom, I made a few comments on it very late Wednesday night, or maybe Thursday. It's a wonderful performance, and after you and DR Elmore have seen it we can have a fine old time going over it in detail.
The past couple of seasons have been relatively sumptuous in sets and costumes, but I think going for that in 1776 just might have seemed like overkill. Plus, what DR Elmore said. I like what they decided on.
Enjoy!!
-
Reminder: "Opera" glasses, if you got 'em!
-
LEG VIBES for DR Elmore.

I did not realize that they were not meant to be full productions though thinking about it now it makes sense considering the very short runs - I am sorry to be missing the talk back I would have liked to have been there for that

I will attempt to remember to do so! (having a brain like a sieve)

I'm wondering if I have anything DR Jrand65 could use in his display. Maybe not, but I'm a proponent of displays and will keep that in mind.

Good Morning to All
TOD
Shatterday (Episode of the Twilight Zone Revival)
The Fifth Element
The Sixth Sense
-
I'm up, I'm up - I don't know how much sleep I got - was in bed by eleven, but know I didn't fall asleep till after midnight, and then was up a few times.
-
TOD
Die Hard ( the first one), The Sixth Sense
-
I loved Bruce Willis in "Moonlighting," But I think I've only seen one of his movies-- "The Sixth Sense" (which I thought he was good in).
-
The original DIE HARD, PULP FICTION, and THE SIXTH SENSE.
I was never a MOONLIGHTING regular but would enjoy watching a few of those now.
-
elmore - check you messages
DR vixmom, check yours!

I have an extra 1969 Playbill I can send you, DR JRand65.

I liked the first two DIE HARD movies and THE SIXTH SENSE.
-
She of the Evil Eye is here so I'll go have an omelet.

and where is Chas? I wanted to hear what he thought of the show.... I must admit I was a bit disappointed to hear that it was modern dress - I like period pieces to be done in period dress...
The modern dress was why we stopped going to the Shakespeare plays in Ashland.
-
I guess I am a traditionalist.... I don't really enjoy modern art either ,
I'm with you on that.
-
(that's actually the name of 'em, Vixdad has a red pair and mine are white)
I'm glad you explained the name.
-
Moonlighting
Die Hard-enjoyed them all, even the not so good ones
Sixth Sense
Sin City
-
Good afternoon, all.
Vibes for Vixmom. My allergies have been acting up today, too.
-
I wasted away the morning, and it was wonderful.
-
I did make some mint julep jelly, which looks beautiful. Pale green with a touch of brown. Tastes good so far.
-
TOD:
I enjoyed 16 Blocks, too. Then again, I usually enjoy Willis in most things.
In addition to most of what's been said:
Twelve Monkeys
Moonrise Kingdom
Nobody's Fool
-
Great news on the film series, DR Druxy. And a great first choice. Will the series have a theme?
-
Been listening to some CDs that I haven't played much. One deserves to be forgotten ("I Love You, Madam President"), a second was just not very good ("Cry for Us All") and one was just way too long (Ricky Ian Gordon's "Only Heaven"). I'm enjoying "Hands on a Hard Body" most.
-
Let's move on.
-
Three!
-
Back from an omelet and a bagel, and banking.

Getting ready for auditions tomorrow. Not sure how many people we will have....or how many of those who show up we can actually use.

Page three? Really?

And on that note (D#), I must be off. I have to run several errands before tonight's performance and I can't wait until the last minute, like I usually do. ::)
Again, have a good day, all!
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Doing some programming. Time for a break.

TOD: Death Becomes Her, The Sixth Sense
-
Hello from the Big Apple ! I'm seeing Melissa Errico at 54 Below tonight. I didn't want to buy a matinee ticket in advance in case my flight was delayed.
-
Well, my flight actually arrived early so I went to TKTS and got a ticket for Thr Robber Bridegroom with Steven Pasquale and BK's friend and the inspiration for Kritzerland, Miss Leslie Kritzer.
-
What a fun show ! Leslie was very funny and of course sings great. And Steven has a truly terrific voice.
-

I'd love to see that. I thought the original novel was a hoot.
-
Saturday evening greetings! When I left yesterday for the First Friday festivities Richard was experiencing some gastrointestinal discomfort and didn't feel any better when I got home. I was exhausted, so went to bed early. He called our doctor's office this morning and they invited him in right away to see the nurse practitioner. She and Nurse Judy recommend we go to the ER, mostly to expedite lab work and other tests. Six hours later we were home with all tests negative, one new prescription, and a referral to a GI doc.
All in all, I'd rather have seen 1776 today...
-
Oh my.....that's SOME Saturday DR GINNY. Vibes that everything is okay!
-
Ah the donations from DR ELMORE & DR CHAS SMITH would be most appreciated. The show isn't until August, so there is no rush.
-
I am home and my leg is not happy at all. I blame the weather.
The talkback was fun, and I followed Christiane Noll out the stage door to say hello to her mother, Her father Ron, who died several years ago, conducted yjr premiere of my reconstruction of Dearest Enemy in 2002.
-
William Daniels was at the talkback and he spoke briefly about the original.
The Encores! production is quite nice and I enjoyed it.
-
Like most posters already.....for the TOD.....I liked DIE HARD and THE SIXTH SENSE.
I also liked Bruce Willis in DEATH BECOMES HER and especially in TWELVE MONKEYS and RED.
-
I thought William Daniels had shuffled off this mortal coil.
-
I thought William Daniels had shuffled off this mortal coil.
Nope. He was quite charming, and he talked about the difficulty of protecting his voice after eight performances each week when Santino expressed his vocal concerns with this production's run.
-

I'd love to see that. I thought the original novel was a hoot.
It sounds like a show I would enjoy.

I also had nice visits with Andre de Shields, who's playing Caesar Romney, director Garry Hines, Robert Kimball, and Jack Viertel.
-
Oh my.....that's SOME Saturday DR GINNY. Vibes that everything is okay!
Thanks, DR JRand. I brought Richard home, had a bite to eat, picked up my grocery list, and went back out in the wind to fill his prescription and pick up some other items we needed.
Now we're watching basketball and listening to tree limbs blow onto our roof.
-
I'm glad Richard is ok. I hope the GI doctor can help. I need to find a new GI here. I might have to ask Bryan to renew my script for my GERD.
-

Well, we learned today that the GI we've both always gone to has retired, so the referral is to his partner.

That is an easy switch. I hope you like the partner.

It also comes in silver, a dark gray, and gold. Had I seen the gold I might have chosen it, still I am happy with the rose gold.
-
Of course, we're possibly getting some [you know] in the wee hours or early in the morning here.
Which is just wrong. Wrong, I tell you. Especially as I have to be out and about tomorrow.
-
I'm lucky on the timing as the iPhone SE was recently released.
-
Just finished our stumble-through - I love stumble-through day and I love this cast and it's a really fun show - we wuz laughing and laughing, even at the pretty songs - kidding. Jason Graae (no one tongues like him), Sharon McNight (no one tongues like her), Hadley Belle Miller (adorable), Keri Safran (her first time with us and she can come back ANY time - she's THAT great), Shannon Warne (the don't come much better, and singing a new song by ME), and Robert Yacko, who is a Kritzerland rock and someone I'd use any time. Add to that John Boswell, who not only is a genius at the piano, but who gets to be funny in this show, and sing. As the Gershwins put it, who could ask for anything more? Oh, but we've got more - a brand new song by Richard M. Sherman sung by Guy Haines - he was a no-show at the stumble-through but they tell me he will absolutely be there tomorrow.
-
I'm guessing you had a good day :)
-
Exciting news about the show = vibes that Guy Haines shows up....but you should prepared just in case, MR BK.
-
I am glad DR VIXMOM is enjoying some time away from her JOB
-
Nice new phone DR JANE
-
Nice new phone DR JANE
Thanks. I'm actually excited about getting a smartphone. I have accepted I need a case to hook onto my belt or pants for the times when my pockets are too small. I have yet to find one. Hmmm, maybe eBay since I am looking for an older style case.
-
What we've got right now: a hailstorm!
-
I hope our sunny weather lasts through tomorrow. We have friends coming to enjoy our walking path and parks tomorrow.
-
The little iPhone on the left will soon be mine.

DR Jane, the new little iPhone is about the same size as my old iPhone 4S, but your screen will be bigger and sharper and you'll have more features. I hope you love it!

Good afternoon. It was a lovely day here. I spent the afternoon sitting in the back yard looking at the work that needs to be done.

Feel better vibes for DH Richard!
-
Page four? Really?
-
I had three ribs (not huge) and a little no-calorie salad for my evening thing.
-
Back from 54 Below. Melissa Errico was terrific. My favorites were "I'm a Stanger Here Myself," and a cut song from My Fair Lady. Billie Jean King was in the audience. Melissa's husband is former tennis player Patrick McEnroe, who is the brother of John.
-
I like the hotel I'm in but am hoping the constant horn blowing on 47 th Street doesn't continue all night long
-
Looking forward to seeing She Loves Me tomorrow.
-
Where is page 5?
-
I think I see it
-
Feel better vibes for DH Richard!
Thanks, DR KevinH! He's had some toast and a shower and seems to feel better.
-
Coming soon
-
Any minute now
-
Hello page 5 !
-
Looking forward to seeing She Loves Me tomorrow.
I'm so jealous!
(Removed my earlier post so you'd get credit for starting page 5)
-
My turn for a shower, then...
'night!
-
Good evening, everyone.
-
Still sneezing and dripping. Be glad I'm not near you.
-
I guess it's a Benedryl night.
-
Hi, KevinH. Hope you enjoy She Loves Me. I'd love to see it again.

Looking forward to seeing She Loves Me tomorrow.
I'm so jealous!
(Removed my earlier post so you'd get credit for starting page 5)
I'm jealous, too! I love that show and really enjoyed Zachary Levi in "Chuck."
-
Good evening!
-
Almost a crowd here tonight.
-
In comparison.
-
Snow in April!! Yikes!
-
Feel better vibes to DH Richard!
-
I hope he doesn't have to go to Lima in the morning.
-
We're having a good show tonight.
-
I went for a nice walk / ride down on the waterfront.
-
The audience seems to be paying attention.
-
Today, not tonight.
-
No one left at intermission.
-
I should have waited until a little later in the afternoon, because it was still a bit brisk at noon.
-
Still, it was crowded down there.
-
I hope George's show is going well tonight.
-
My friend David called just as intermission started, asking if I wanted to meet him, his fiancee, and some friends of theirs after the show. I might, but I also might need to drive one of the actors home. However, he just lives up the hill from downtown, so it's not too far away.
-
I hope George's show is going well tonight.
It is. :)
-
Tomorrow through Tuesday we are supposed to take a step back from real Spring weather.
-
Nothing major - now snow or heavy rain.
-
Well, since we're so close...
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
Six
-
:D
-
I am watching the Women's World Figure Skating from Boston.
-
To be frank, the stumble-through was a bit rough for my taste, but after we cleaned up all the problem spots. I gave a lot of notes - but here's hoping it all goes smoothly.
-
I am not really that interested. I am waiting for the 10:00 news.
-
Then I will come back at 10:30 and watch the finish of the skating.
-
I was hoping I would hear from Sandy today.
-
As of yesterday, he was feeling okay.
-
Of course, it was the third day where he had the first sign of problems.
-
BK, are you going to bed early again tonight?
-
And now, I have to go. We're almost to the end.
Be back later....or laterer.
;)
-
Time to switch over to the iPad.
-
And I am back.
-
Feel better vibes for DH Richard!
Thanks, DR KevinH! He's had some toast and a shower and seems to feel better.
Good to hear.
-
Oh, and we solved The Sunshine Boys mystery - I didn't read or test for the film, it was for a failed pilot for a series - Red Buttons was one of the stars. Michael Durrell got the part of the son, which I did read and test for and certainly would have been more likable than he.
-
Ah the donations from DR ELMORE & DR CHAS SMITH would be most appreciated. The show isn't until August, so there is no rush.
Please pm your address , Jack I have some goodies for you too!
-
Well, my flight actually arrived early so I went to TKTS and got a ticket for Thr Robber Bridegroom with Steven Pasquale and BK's friend and the inspiration for Kritzerland, Miss Leslie Kritzer.
Gosh I wish I had seen this sooner, we might have been able to meet for a quick meal

William Daniels was at the talkback and he spoke briefly about the original.

Of course, we're possibly getting some [you know] in the wee hours or early in the morning here.
Which is just wrong. Wrong, I tell you. Especially as I have to be out and about tomorrow.
It was quite clear and wind free this evening. But now that I am safely inside. The winds is rattling the Windows and I can hear something Whether it's rain or sleet I cannot tell and I am not getting up to find out
-
I like the hotel I'm in but am hoping the constant horn blowing on 47 th Street doesn't continue all night long
Sorry about that, I'll stop now
-
I did bring my binocolours but found no need of them. I lucked out with my seat and could see quite well. I was impressed with the leg room... Although the seats were a bit narrower than I would like there was enough legroom to allow people to move past you to their seats wothout the whole row having to stand up
-
And the audience was wonderful.. No talking, no woohooing, no cells phones ringing, no texting,,,,enthusiastic laughter and clapping ....
-
And of course the first think I did when I was seated was open my playbill to find our very own Elmores name .
-
Well since I must be up in 5 hours....
-
Or less
-
Goodnight

Vixmom, I wish you could have more weekends (or better yet, entire weeks) like this one where you could truly enjoy yourself. Forgive the cliche, but I've is too short to have to suffer through a job like you do.

One more post.

Seven!
