Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both good and bad and eggs benedict-like, and now it is time for you to post until the good egg cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AVUNCULAR!
-
good morning to all

-
Good morning, all!
-
I am going to City Center today to proofread two things from Do I Hear A Waltz?, "Everybody Loves Leona," a cut song, and an alternate overture, so that we ca hear them at Friday's orchestra reading. I haven't seen Joshie is a couple of weeks and he tells me we're having a "guest star" today. Since I have no idea who it may be, I am quite excited to find out.
-
Last night I slept poorly. Why I decided last night to stop the Tylenol with codeine was a lousy idea, so I lay in bed in great agony until I decided around 1:30 to take a tablet. I hope I do not fall asleep at City Center!
-
I dreamed about Danny Burstein, Rebecca Luker, and Nate Hackmann,m who was in Paint Your Wagon. I dreamed I was wrking at Drama Book Shop and ran into Nate in the elevator. Then I dreamed he was in Fiddler on the Roof, and I was sitting at a table with him and Danny. Then I decided to see Rebecca in Fun Home, so she showed up and that's all I remember.
There was another dream as well, but it's gone with the wind.
-
More coffee! I must wake up.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I go in and out of vivid dream runs, and can't bring last night's dream into focus much beyond a vague feeling or detail or two. Same thing yesterday.
-
DR ELMORE did the Drama Bookshop get their flood damage repaired?
-
Since Facebook, I have found, as a director, that it is much easier to post my notes on a secret group dedicated to the production, and let the actors/staff read them there. You can see who reads them, and it saves time at the end of the rehearsal, when NO ONE is in the mood to stay for 15 or 20 more minutes to listen.....
-
So what show are they doing:
Legally Blonde or Hairspray or Seussical?
-
'morning
-
I have a busy day and need to get moving.
Laters
-
Good morning, all.
I could use more sleep.
-
Thankfully, my house and area was spared the hailstorm. Others I work with were not so lucky. Many problems reported.
-
I like Everybody Loves Leona, which is on BK's recording of Waltz.
-
Then again, I love most of Waltz. Some of my favorite Rodgers music.
-
I just paid some scary bills. And I still have to finish my own taxes. Oy!
-
Good Morning, Gang!
-
TOD:
Re: " I mean, everything was terrible – the Hollandaise, the overcooked eggs, the burned hash browns – only the salad escaped and that was very good."
Am wondering if you said anything to management about this.
-
I hate "scary bills". Sadly, those are the ones from my dentist's office usually.
-
Why isn't there GOOD dental insurance???
-
Doctor's appointment yesterday went well. My doctor put me back on a blood pressure med she had taken off my daily meds. Only at half the previous dosage. We shall see if it does the trick.
Have a follow-up BP check tomorrow afternoon, and then a haircut with Miss Erin Arbogast!
-
There was another dream as well, but it's gone with the wind.
Was Harve Presnell in that dream?
-
Why should we linger longer?
-
Just another post will do the trick!
-
All I need to do is click post.

The postman dropped off my indiegogo premium. I'll have plenty of books to read this spring and summer. Thank you, BK.
-
And your favorite song, DR Kate?
-

You can see who reads them, and it saves time at the end of the rehearsal, when NO ONE is in the mood to stay for 15 or 20 more minutes to listen.....
The Theater Artists Olympia Board has a secret FB page, but not everyone is on FB...one specifically removed himself, so we need to make sure that he gets all the necessary information. It's a hassle, but he's worth it. He's the technical director for our performance space. We can't do things without him. :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - eleven hours of sleep and that was good but now I'm ready to just have eight hours of sleep.
-
My postman placed a bar code on my mailbox and asked that I leave it there. It is being used to track his time.....he has to be at my house within five minutes of the scheduled time.....
-
Thankfully, my house and area was spared the hailstorm. Others I work with were not so lucky. Many problems reported.
I'm glad you were spared.

I love this song.

Had a salad for lunch. Basically, lettuce and tomato. I used a Tzatziki Cucumber dressing (it's a Safeway brand that I totally LOVE).
I also had 6 Habanero BBQ almonds. Very tasty.
But...I'm still hungry.
What should I eat?

Home from City Center. I finished the two scores around 3:15, ande I stayed awake, Iyr two guest stars today were Eric Dietz, who's assisting Joshie on this show, and Todd Olsen, one of Joshie's previous interns, who's working on several projects at the moment. It was nice to see both of them.
-
Thanks DR"S Ron and John G for your favorite songs.
I"LL BE SEEING YOU AND BEGIN THE BEGUINE!!!!

Hello, everyone.
It looks like we need some posts.

Vibes to DR Ron for the right med combination.

Vibes to Larry for a solution to his troublesome left leg.

Hello, everyone.
It looks like we need some posts.
Well here's one. Good evening, DR Jeanne!
-
DR John G, I meant to mention how good it was of you to offer your home for your parents. Is there any news on this? Also glad that said home is still intact.
-
Howdy, Chas!

Here's a question for whomever:
Netflix and Amazon have been producing original content for a few years now, thus playing, to an extent, the role that network television did. I welcome this with open arms and am pleased to see the networks have less power. Do others see it this way? Is there a downside that I don't see?
-
I'm hearing many good things about the various series, and I've been totally remiss in not checking a single one of them out.
I mean, not a one. My TV watching habits remain firmly anchored in the 20th century. Not forever, I hope, but there are so many things clamoring for one's attention and time these days.
That said, I'd guess that as with most things, the more competition, the better for all.
-
I have recently received several letters from both the IRS and the California taxation agency. They are usually asking for more money. Yesterday I received a letter saying that I OVERPAID my 2013 taxes by $769! How could that be? No, I am NOT complaining! I am not confident that they have a good handle on what the numbers really should be, but I'll happily accept a refund.
-
That IRS letter was sent to the wrong address!
Hold on, I'll get you the correct one to forward it, and the funds, to...
:D

Yes, I think this is a situation where more competition is better. When I look at the shows on TV, ie, not Netflix or Amazon, I have to wonder if this is really the best they can come up with. There are some fine shows, yes, but so much crap! I'm more familiar with the Netflix offerings than Amazon's. Some of it interests me, much of it doesn't. But they do seem to be trying to offer something for everyone.
My hunch is that the N/A shows will offer more diversity, not the same old formula, often with less-known actors, and possibly more creative writing. I'm pleased to see it happening.

I've started season 2 of HAPPY VALLEY. It's addictive. Season 1 was very addictive. Looking forward to the next episode tonight.

Let's have us a good ol' PAGE THREE On a Clear Day You Can See Forever DANCE, shall we?

I see that DR TCB has a trip in the works. Has he given us no details? We need details!
Where ya goin', Tom?

ON A CLEAR DAY is a show I'd like to see redone, but I suspect I wouldn't like the way it's done.

The cost? Will Netflix eventually offer Amazon shows? Will Amazon eventually offer Netflix shows? Subscribing to both seems pricey.
My brother loves detective shows and was excited when I told him about BOSCH and said it was something to look forward to on Netflix. I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't know if an Amazon show would ever make it to Netflix.

Today we went to Best Buy to look at 8"tablets, an inch up from my Nook HD. If I were shopping alone, and it was convenient as it would have been in Oregon, I would have looked at the tablets and then gone over to Barnes and Noble to check out their Samsung Nook. It wasn't convenient and my Nook is soooo slow it is basically only good as a reader.
The service was excellent at Best Buy and once I decided I wanted the Samsung the Best Buy salesman called someone and said "Are you still here, good". A Samsung person came over and helped me. Once I purchased the tablet he set up my major apps and showed me how to use the tablet. There is still I need to learn/remember and I didn't know all of my passwords so I will have to play with those apps on my own.
-
Now I need to search for a cover and hope I can find something better than what they sold at the store.
Not only is my Nook cover, which isn't made anymore, extra soft and padded it has a pocket inside where I keep my long library card numbers.

The ability to offer more diversity and creative writing is, I would assume, because broadcast TV has legal restrictions on the kinds of language, nudity, and violence that can be shown. The Netflix/Amazon/pay channels don't have those restrictions, so they can be much more adventurous in their offerings.

ON A CLEAR DAY is a show I'd like to see redone, but I suspect I wouldn't like the way it's done.
It was redone on Broadway a few years ago with a man playing David Gamble who was reincarnated from Melinda Wells, played by Jessie Mueller. Harry Connick, Jr. played Dr. Mark Bruckner and fell in love with Melinda, who was really David. Here's a video of a dance that's pretty cool:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoizZTYdB5U
From what I remember, it didn't do too well, though.

I'm sure that Netflix and Amazon will never offer each other's shows. They're exclusive to their own services.

Why isn't there GOOD dental insurance???
Don't remind me. I have a dental visit today. Thankfully it's not to Sweeney Todd's tonsorial parlor.
I had a dental appointment today, too.

What doesn't make sense to me is the Lerner estate allowing others to screw up his work in their greed.

Good news from DR JEANNE and from DR JANE!!!
Money from the IRS and a new tablet!!!
-
Well, I must be going. I'm running sound and slides for TAO's next project, Words, Words, Words: The Beat Generation (https://olytheater.com/words/). Tonight is the one and only run-through and I have no idea what I will be ready for me. I'm sure it'll all come together for Friday's opening night and Saturday's closing night...it always does. ;)
Until later!

I haven't had time to play with my new tablet. I hope I don't have problems using it tonight. If I don't pop back in later you will know why.
-
Good evening. I spent the day searching for birds and butterflies. I found both.
-

-
When we got home we found the Vixter was home from work so we all went to the Texas Roadhouse
-
And we had a very lovely meal
-
Oh we wandered part the mechSnics and picke up my car as well
-
I don't watch any network tv these days
-
Except occasionally a glimpse at Jimmu Fallon on the Tonight show
-
Oh we wandered part the mechSnics and picke up my car as well
Well, at least keep an eye on your snickersnee.
-
Kk'm

Is vixmom letting the dog type on the computer?
-
Mostly we watch Netflix, pbs, HBO, showtime, bbc1 and the comedy channel
-
Is vixmom letting the dog type on the computer?
That was a errant pinky resting on the iPad
-
Good evening. I spent the day searching for birds and butterflies. I found both.
And the photos are where?
-
My snickersnee is in the repair show. Maybe next to Vixmom's car.
-
Just finished putting up some of the first loquats. About a gallon ended up in preserves, some with pecans, others without. 10 jars in all.
-
Oh we wandered part the mechSnics and picke up my car as well
Well, at least keep an eye on your snickersnee.
Oh never shall I forget the cry or the shreik that shrieked he as I gashed my teeth and from its sheath I drew my snickersnee

I have never had a loquat nor would I recognize one

Today I was addressing a letter to JohnG's work place ( as I often do). I always imagine my letter ending up on Johns desk
-
But since I do not believe he works in accounts payable ....
-
Where in the workd is page five lurking? Aren't we up to post 780 already?
-
My snickersnee is in the repair show. Maybe next to Vixmom's car.
I do love a good repair show
-
I miss Jon Stewart
-
I mis SingDaw
-
I miss Cila
-
I miss a lot of letters when I type
-
Elmore should we be getting our tickets for Do I hear a waltz?
-
But since I do not believe he works in accounts payable ....
No, but I will accept checks. Gladly. As long as they are made out to me. :)
-
Look what I found!
-
Five!
-
Back from a REALLY good and productive rehearsal. I actually had my full cast for a little over an hour - amazing how fast things go when you have everyone. The director of the other show actually tried to change when I was getting them AGAIN - originally four-thirty to five-thirty - she tried to start her stuff thirty minutes early and I put my foot down and absolutely refused. I won.
-
I just received an offer in the mail today for discount tickets
-
And I have the full group tomorrow for almost two-and-a-half hours, so I should be able to get some good work done.
-
Oh thank goodness page five.
-
My snickersnee is in the repair show. Maybe next to Vixmom's car.
I do love a good repair show
Exactly. Shop me a good repair show and I'll schlep you a man who can feed himself fish sticks.
-
I thought we would never find it

Hi Tommy!!
-
Did you get any of your million things done?
-
How is Sandy?
-
Page 5! That is a good sign.
-
Well, I must be going. I'm running sound and slides for TAO's next project, Words, Words, Words: The Beat Generation (https://olytheater.com/words/). The rehearsal is going well. The poems and excerpts are good. Most are serious but some are funny. My slide cues are very simple...I just need to pay attention when each piece ends. ::)
-
Hi, Debby!
-
There isn't any music yet, but there will be on Friday. That will just be preshow, intermission, and exit music. Nothing in between the pieces, so that keeps it easy.
-
Sandy sounded pretty good today.
-
Elmore should we be getting our tickets for Do I hear a waltz?
I would love to see this!
-
But he goes back for chemo again tomorrow.
-
I got about a thousand things done today.
-
Sandy sounded pretty good today.
Thats great!
-
But that leaves 999,000 left to do.
-
But he goes back for chemo again tomorrow.
~~~Continued Vibes for Sandy!!~~~
We are almost done with this page.
-
Well, almost almost.
-
One more almost.
-
Jeanne brought up my coming trip.
-
The rehearsal has finished. It'll be great, once we get an audience.
-
And now, I'm off to home.
Be back later.
-
Yes, I am leaving very early Saturday morning to fly to Tampa, Florida.
-
On Sunday, I will be boarding a cruise ship.
-
For a two week cruise to Denmark.
-
If this sounds familiar, it is basically the same cruise I took three years ago.
-
Sandy and I were supposed to take this cruise together.
-
But unfortunately, that fell apart with his cancer diagnosis.
-
My snickersnee is in the repair show. Maybe next to Vixmom's car.
Exactly. Shop me a good repair show and I'll schlep you a man who can feed himself fish sticks.
I plactice.
Sandy sounded pretty good today.
That's good news.
-
I wanted to chill tonight, but I put on Room. It's great but it's also very tense and even a little depressing. I'll need to find some other way to unwind. And I'll get back to this tomorrow.
-
What is ROOM about?
-
John has left the building.
-
At least 1 Guest has stayed.
-
1 Guest has left.
-
I seem to be stuck on page 3. I keep tapping 4 but it won't change. At least the reply worked.
Doesn't that just thrill ya?
;)
-
What is ROOM about?
Narrarated by a boy in his "room" and his life with his mother who was kidnapped and kept hostage.
-
I have only read the book.
-
So strange, I can't go to page 5 either.
-
Its the movie with Brie Larson.
-
Time to switch.
-
I am back! If anyone cares.
-
Hello, Jane! Hello, George!
Hello, Jane! Hello, George!
Hi, Tom!
Hi
Do you like your new device?
-
I miss a lot of letters when I type
;D
-
I went away and when I returned tapping 4 worked.
-
Sandy sounded pretty good today.
☺
-
But he goes back for chemo again tomorrow.
Good vibes!
-
I guess I will read and try to sleep. I haven'the found how to lock this thing so it does not rotate while I am reading.
Good night, Jane.
According to THIS (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/14/theater/anne-jackson-dies.html) article in the NY Times, Anne Jackson, Eli Wallach's widow, has died. :(
George are you just doing tech for this next show?
Yup...actually the next two productions.
