Well, you've read the notes, the notes had staging, and now it is time for you to post until the staged cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MICHE!
-
First after BK? After 6 a.m. EST?
-
good morning to all

-
Good morning, all.
A little early. But hey.
-
Vixmom asked about Do I Hear a Waltz?
I'm going to the closing night performance on Sunday evening this time.
-
Good morning!
-
Thursday.
I put out my six bags of clothes for Am Vets. I only go shop there once a year, so i hope I don't go buy any of them back when I go in 2017. That's why I can't give anything to the local Goodwill. I go in and see all my old clothes on the rack.
I was ruthless - if it is a bit small or if I haven't worn it in more than a year, it went in the bag!
-
The good news is now I can by more stuff!
-
Very entertaining reading about the SHOW being put together. Blocking vibes for MR BK.
Tonight I am staging the ballroom dance for Little Women. I have decided to use a nice Virginia Reel with a few dollops of mine own.....we only have 51 measures, so it shouldn't take too long.
I have an ensemble of seven girls.....I wanted to add Laurie since he is at the party, and dress three of the girls as boys.....but since some of them are playing boys in the "acting out" of Jo's stories, I was told I would have seven girls....and they will add one girl from the second act......so I have eight girls in ball gowns....which will be something to see.
-
I think in non-professional theatre, the single most aggravating element one has to deal with is the lack of consistent, total, dependable, cast attendance at rehearsals.
That statement may make the problem sound more prevalent than it actually is. But we have a few really excellent directors in this area who get so fed up with this lack of dedication that they've come pretty damned close to throwing in the towel.
Fortunately (I think), BK's degree of success at this is only dependent on this other idiot director who doesn't seem to get the laying out of a plan, and abiding by it.
-
It really, really should be Friday. It even looks like a Friday.
-
Good morning, all! I took a muscle relaxer - no Tylenol with codeine - and went to bed around 11:00. At 1:30 I woke with a throbbing left leg, and about 2:00 I took three extra-strong Tylenol (no codeine) tablets. Around 7:30 the pains came back and I dozed poorly until 8:30, when I figured that was enough.
-
I had a strange dream about going to the movies with Richard, DR Ginny's husband. After the film, we were debating driving to the airport since we'd missed a flight.
There was another dream before that, but it's no longer making itself known.
-
Good morning.
-
DR vixmom, you asked about tickets for Do I Hear A Waltz?. At this point I know absolutely nothing about the production beyond some of the cast. If you enjoyed 1776, I'd say, go for it.
-
DR JRand65, I have been to the Drama Book Shop once since I stopped working there in 1997,and that was for a BK reading several years ago. I was sorry to hear about their damage, but I have no idea of how things are progressing with repairs.
-
It's a "finish Moross week," so I must get to work.
First, coffee!
-
Room was an excellent book and a very good movie!
-
DR JRand65, I have been to the Drama Book Shop once since I stopped working there in 1997,and that was for a BK reading several years ago.
I think that was June 15, 2012 -- a landmark day for me, being the occasion of my first HHW get-together.
-
I remember the June 15th date because of a (silly) musical commitment I had to get out of in order to spend that day in the city.
-
Last night I watched Judi Dench and Maggie Smith in Ladies In Lavender, which had a wonderful cast of actors including Miriam Margolyse and David Warner. Two elderly sisters, one a WW 1 widow and the other a spinster, rescue and take into their home a young man washed ashore near their home on the coast in mid-1930s England.
I had no idea what would happen or where the story would go, but it amused me, kept me interested, and then slugged me with its emotional honesty about age, love, and longing.
-
TOD: I am not going into this one since i rave about the huge number of idiot self-serving politicians who manipulate, rather than represent, the people they serve on this site.
-
I had a dream.
I was inside an auditorium with a bunch of people I knew or recognized. There was a man there speaking privately with individuals one at a time.
At some point, the man told those of us he had not spoken with that we could leave and that we should go as far away from the auditorium as possible.
I thought it meant that something odd was going to happen to the people left in the auditorium. I remember seeing those being left behind and they looked comfortable and accepting of whatever was going to happen.
I remember a lady being beside me as I was leaving and we both ran up an embankment which brought us to the shoreline of a large lake. She went to the right and I stayed where I was...anticipating what I do not know. I thought it strange that I heard no explosion or other noise.
I had assumed that the folks in the auditorium were going to make an earthly departure. Then I thought, what if it was the rest of us who left earth.
And then I woke up.
-
No, I don't usually have such dreams. But it was so vivid and I still remember it.
-
Today is another day.
Today, I go to the hospital for a Blood Pressure check.
I'm sorry to have to say this, but the added medication has NOT done the trick. My BP last night was horrid.
I'm a little put out that the meds I was taking before all this changing up were getting the job done nicely.
Still, I can be patient.
-
I have a haircut appointment this afternoon.
I need one dreadfully. It has been six weeks since my last one and I'm ready to get the hair off my ears.
-
One for the money....
-
...two for the show...
-
And now we're on Page 2!
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD:
A quote from Chess:
You, you are so strange.
Why can't you be what you want to be?
-
Room was an excellent book and a very good movie!
I dreamt about the movie. That means it's very effective, IMO.
-
My views on the TOD are similar to MR BK's but probably more incendiary, so i shall keep them to myself.
-
Been up since six - have done all the corrections but before we could actually play through it he had to leave and will call when he's back at ten-thirty - in the meantime I found four more fixes and he cut and pasted the wrong bar at the end - already e-mailed him those so we can be ready to just play it. Then it can go to Lanny and the singer and that part of the process is then finished.

TOD:
Let boys use the Men's Room and let girls use the Ladies Room.
And if someone thinks she's a boy, so be it.
And if someone thinks he's a girl, so be it.
If one dresses the part, or has surgery to attain (or remove) the part, so be it.
Just do it and don't make a big deal out of it. And use the bathroom of the gender sex with which you identify.
And if I ever use a word like "cisgender" after this sentence, please put me out of my misery.
-
Good Morning All:
TOD:
I Will also keep my opinion about this to myself!!!

Yesterday morning I wrote on Goodreads
"My father, shocked at finding himself an old man, referred to himself as an Alter Kocker. For me, in an endearing way, this expression could fit Patrick Bronstein. If you want a trip down old L.A. restaurants and theaters, take it with this funny producer of the 50's B & C movies."
-
It really, really should be Friday. It even looks like a Friday.
I feel your pain! :P
-
DR Jennifer, or anyone, have you seen Allegiant? I noticed there will be another film called Ascendant. Does this mean they divided the novel Allegiant into 2 parts?

We laughed a lot while watching this.

DR Ron did your high blood pressure have anything to do with your unusual dream?
Continued vibes and I'm glad you can be patient.

Changing/reducing medications can certainly cause vivid dreams.
The Dream-O-Matic 6000 says the DR RLP's dream is a nice combination of once long-held religious imagery and modern day circumstances.
The auditorium is your idea of your life today, and the fact that one person was sharing confidential information with others says that you sometimes feel you do not always get the information you need in order to do your job and get through some life actions.
Leaving the auditorium and seeing someone else take a decisive turn in one direction, while you are left standing tells us that you are facing a big decision in life that rests solely on you. It is easier to stand still than to move, but you realize it is better to move in a direction of your choice than to be moved by force.

Please deposit $35 in my PayPal account.
I shall now be off the Massachusetts....to dance the night away with 8 girls.....some of whom......can't.....
-
Good afternoon. I went hiking with my camera today. No rattlesnakes.
-
Pondering dinner. i got through two Moross numbers today. I have two to go in Act Two, and on Monday, I'll return to the Columbia library.
-
I suppose the Dream-O-Matic could have said worse things.
Nice to know.
I think the pending decision is retirement and when to take it!
-
Retirement must be the answer rather than The Knack...and how to get it.
-
Retirement must be the answer rather than The Knack...and how to get it.
At my age, I'd rather have retirement than the Knack.

It depends on what you are trying to get.

Today is the anniversary of Lincoln's assassination. Any memories to share, DR TCB?
And were you there, Tom, or did you just read about it?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Better med combo vibes to DR Ron!
I hope this gets sorted out quickly, regardless of your patience.
-
JRand, 6 BAGS!! I give you credit for being ruthless, as I know how difficult it is for some of us to toss (ME).
But, please, stay away from my closet!! I wouldn't have anything left to wear!

:D
-
Today was a day. I woke up with pain, which isn't usually the case. I usually have at least an hour before the pain sets in. So, not a good start.
I went to the hairdresser. Richard and I were chatting about all the things we dislike. I left to buy some groceries. I was driving down a busy street, turning into a left-turn-only lane, when a car appeared from out of nowhere to the left of me (on the wrong side of the street) and swung around to get into the left turn lane ahead of me. Sheesh! (That's not exactly what I said.) We all see plenty of bad driving, I'm sure, but this was so audacious! On the way home I saw even more of this. I'm continually amazed there aren't more accidents.
-
I don't know what's going on in the Heavens these days, but things have been just plain weird.
-
TOD:
I'm pretty much a "live and let live" kind of person. I try to respect other people's views and lifestyles, whatever they are. In return, I ask that others respect my views. That doesn't often happen, though! I experience waaayyy too many people who try to impose their views on my life.
-
TCB, your cruise sounds very nice. I'm so sorry Sandy can't make it, and even sorrier knowing the reason why.
Vibes for a great trip for you and vibes for a solid recovery for Sandy.
-
TTFN.

DR Ron did your high blood pressure have anything to do with your unusual dream?
Continued vibes and I'm glad you can be patient.
Gosh! I have no idea. Do you think it could have?
Have you noticed interesting dreams in the past when it has been up? If not due to the high blood pressure it could be due to your emotions over the med changes and getting it under control.
-

I had to look up Cisgender and I'm still confused.
-
I had to look up Cisgender and I'm still confused.
Jane, you are a cisgender female. You were born biologically female, and by society assigned the "female" gender, and live your life as a female. Transgender people are biologically one gender, but feel/know in their mind that they are the other gender. According to THIS (http://www.advocate.com/transgender/2015/07/31/true-meaning-word-cisgender) article, the term "cisgender" was first used in 1994.
-
Here's the Wikipedia entry:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisgender
-
Gay, bi, straight are sexual preferences. They define who you are attracted to. Your "gender" is who you want to live as.
-
And now...
-
...since we are so close...
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
Dealer's Choice.
;)
-
Good evening!
-
And on that note (C-natural), I'm off. I'm ushering for a local college's production of "The Drowsy Chaperone." I hope it's good. I saw the show in Seattle at the 5th Avenue Theatre (I know it can't compare to that), but I love the show and want it to be well done.
Be back later!
-
I'm happy to hear you're going on a cruise, TCB!
-
DR Jennifer, or anyone, have you seen Allegiant? I noticed there will be another film called Ascendant. Does this mean they divided the novel Allegiant into 2 parts?
No i have not seen Allegiant. Yes they divided Allegiant into 2 parts.
-
The Vixter and I saw the Drowsey Chaperone on Broadway that was the first time I saw Elmores good friend Dany Burstein on stage
-
I too had to look up cisgender. I never heard the term before
-
I don't care what adults want to do with their own lives. But I have some concerns about allowing children especially very young children "choose " their gender... I remember clearly when I was a young wanting to be a boy... Of course this was the early 60's when girls had to wear dresses and help in the kitchen and do house work while boys ( my younger brothers come to mind) could wear jeans and climb trees and have fun
-
Well, it's been a long, been a long day.
-
Watching the last half of Room.
-
I hope I don't dream about it tonight.

George, thanks for explaining this so clearly.
I've always thought of one's sex and one's gender as being the same, but if your gender is that which you choose is your sex that also?
-
I'm not sure I can watch ROOM. It may too too dark for me, no matter how well done it is.

The boy is wonderful. I liked his performance even better than the mother's. And yet she won the Oscar. Go figure.

Boys certainly had the advantage then. I never wanted to be a boy, but I hated being pushed into female stereotypes. For many years I refused to wear pink. I'll wear it now, but very seldom. Those stereotypes were sooo rigid!

Perhaps there was a reluctance to give the award to a child over an adult?
-
Vixmom, would you tell The Vixter that some of us at HHW would really like a few posts from her now and then to let us know how she's doing and what she's doing?
-
I'll try to be back later to say hello to TCB. I do assume, though, that he'll have a tablet or something with him and will be able to post while traveling.
-
For something lighter, I started watching an old TV version of Best Foot Forward. Fun show. Pat Carroll is a riot.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from a good rehearsal in which I had most of my cast for the first two hours. Once again, the director with whom I'm sharing them tried to run herd over us proclaiming she had to have them thirty minutes earlier than agreed and I agreed - NOT to dismiss them one second before the time I was promised.
-
We reviewed, I blocked a number involving a quartet of men - that took quite a bit of time - I blocked four blackout sketches, and got a duet on its feet. So, a good day - the solo numbers are all cake so I'm not even thinking about those right now.
-
Then I had a wonderfully wonderful dinner with Pogue, who's here for the eulogy for his pal Larry Drake. I tried for Genghis Cohen but he wanted one of our regular haunts so it was House of Pies. Fortunately, the good chef was there - we both had two broasted chicken breasts - he had his with mashed potatoes and I had mine with a few fries. We both had small dinner salads, too - the chicken was really out of this world. And we had a great time catching up - we laughed and laughed and just when we thought we could laugh no more, we laughed again.
-
And now, may I just exclaim - pager FOUR? Really? We'd better have a frenzy or three or things will get ugly around here.
-
Thanks to dear reader Jane's comment about the new book. Awaiting others.
-
Good evening!
-
Page four? Really?
-
This does not bode well for the weekend.
-
Of course, it doesn't bode well for Thursday either.
-
Just one more post.
-
Five!!
-
Hello, 0 Guests.
-
Today is the anniversary of Lincoln's assassination. Any memories to share, DR TCB?
No, not from me. But my friend, Sharry was onstage in OUR AMERICAN COUSIN when here ex-boyfriend jumped down onto the stage.
-
Personally, I was touring with Edwin Booth at the time. That night I was playing Hamlet's mother.
-
Thanks George. It seemed as if some of the definitions varied.
-

And were you there, Tom, or did you just read about it?
Elmore likes to kid because he used to babysit me when he was in high school.
-
DR Jennifer, or anyone, have you seen Allegiant? I noticed there will be another film called Ascendant. Does this mean they divided the novel Allegiant into 2 parts?
No i have not seen Allegiant. Yes they divided Allegiant into 2 parts.
Thanks. I think I will wait for part 2 and watch them closer together.
-
No Vixmom this evening?
-
Perhaps she is working twenty-four hour shifts now.
-
I am only half kidding.
-
Ron, I forgot to mention yesterday that my favorite song is also, "I'll Be Seeing You."
-
Jane, how was your weather today?
-
It was supposed to rain all day today, but we mostly had sunshine and blue skies.
-
I am still getting used to my new tablet. It is a million times faster than my old one.
-
Next week is expected to be warm all week.
-
I am still getting used to my new smart phone, which isn't as smart as Keith'so phone.
-
Naturally the warm weather arrives as soon as I leave town.
-
Time to switch to the iPad.
-
Since Keith apparently feel I need to, once again, challenge my comfort zone he bought me a new computer today.
-
I now have a Dell all in one computer.
-
I have been wanting one and today Keith decided we found it.😃
-
It was supposed to rain all day today, but we mostly had sunshine and blue skies.
It rained here this afternoon which is why we decided it would be a good day to return something at Best Buy.
While he was looking at something of interest to him I told him to meet me at the all in one computers never really expecting to buy one.
-
Jane, how was your weather today?
It stopped raining and I managed a walk with my neighbor around 5:45. We had to return after about half an hour as she was not dressed for rain. We got back inside just before it poured.
-
Congratulations on all your new electronics!
-
Later this evening she sent us a video of a perfect double rainbow. If only we had looked outside.
-
Congratulations on all your new electronics!
Thank you.
-
My arm, hand, shoulder and wrist hurt from all the writing I am doing while lying down.
-
Our very own beautiful elmore wrote a review of the new book and it made me tear up, truly. Go read for yourself.

This afternoon has been a good distraction for me. Awhile back I mentioned a friend since high school had cancer and there wasn'the any hope. Today I learned she passed away. Bruce might remember my friend Diane Rivers from Hamilton and drama.
-
My head aches because of all the things I need to get done in the next thirty hours.
-
I just remembered I have to let Penny know :(
-
I met Diane on the same day I met Penny and Keith. I belive Bruce that I met you the following day.
-
It's really windy here - I just don't get this weather at ALL.
